Sid got a call from Shane the day after his wife lost her engagement ring and wedding band (soldered together) in his Dad’s back yard. They were having a party and the couple were active at the party and around the subdivision. They had made many trips around and off the property on a golf cart. I went early the next morning and started in the back yard off the porch, the party’s main location. On my second pass, I got a shallow, gold signal and found the ring ½” below ground level. Total search time, 15 minutes. Another smiling face. Dad got the picture since Shane needed to be at work. Thank you Randy and Shane for the generous reward. Jon Baughman, a Ring Finder, received an email about a lost silver cross necklace somewhere in his back yard. He was adding a patio on the back on his house. During his work he was using a skid steer to move dirt away from the house and also use a compactor to compact the gravel by the house as he lost his silver cross necklace somewhere throughout the day which was handed down from his grandma. All of the dirt was mud which has harden to almost undigable ground. After searching in the dirt with only finding nails and strap tin from the house construction. I expanded my search to the next area which is compacting. And there the silver cross necklace hiding in the grass right as he started compacting. He was very happy that I was able to find the lost silver cross necklace that he almost started to cry in joy.

On 07/08/16, I was contacted by a gentleman regarding the loss of his Platinum “Jeff Cooper” wedding band with a Diamond that was lost on Lewes Beach in Delaware. I was told that he was in about two to three foot of water when his daughter reached up to grab his hand at which time she accidentally pulled his wedding band off of his finger and it fell into the water. The gentleman stated that he was no more then ten feet in the water from the shore. The gentleman told me that on the day and time that his ring was lost that he believed that it was mid high tide. Trying to make the best of the lowest tide possible I responded to Lewes Beach on the morning of 07/12/16 at about 8:10 am. I found that the low tide water line was about ten to twelve feet from the high tide water line. I began my grid search after marking an area that was about ten feet wide from the low tide water mark up to the high tide water mark by about twenty feet long. About half way through my grid search just inches above the low tide water line I received a good tone in my headset. I took one scoop out of the wet sand and dumped it on the beach. About half way through the mound of the scooped sand I located the lost ring. The rings owner was from out of town, I made contact with him to let him know that his wedding band had been found and also to find out what arraignments he wanted to make with me regarding the return of his ring. The rings owner was very happy that his ring had been found and he requested that I keep it safe until it could be returned to his wife nine days later. The ring was returned safe and sound on 07/21/16.
On Saturday I received a call from Mr. Sal about looking for a lost ring. Apparently, after taking down his Christmas decorations, he noticed that his white gold ring was no longer on his little finger. He said he usually only wears it when they go out and on special occasions, but figured he could take down the decorations and just leave it on because they had plans to go out later that evening. As he was finishing putting things away he realized his ring was missing. (This white gold ring with a blue sapphire was given to Sal as a graduation gift from his parents over 60 years ago and it held allot of sentimental value in his heart and mind.) So Sal began looking through the decorations thinking maybe it dropped into one of the bags or boxes. Then he went outside to check the yard and grass and even the stone areas, thinking it could have dropped off there. But NOTHING!
Sal then began checking around where he could rent a metal detector and finally found a store. So he called and talked to one of the sales representatives, who informed Sal that this particular store was up in Boston, MA. and it would be quite expensive to ship a metal detector down to Florida and all. The sales rep. then told Sal about a group called Theringfinders that helps people find their lost rings and surely there would be someone in the Central Florida area that could help him out. And that’s how Sal found me!
I arranged to meet Mr. Sal on Sunday at his home and he showed me the areas where he took down his decorations. It was a relatively small area and it took only 15 minutes or so to cover the most likely spots with my DFX–but I was unable to find his ring. Mr. Sal then mentioned that he had particular trouble around the metal light post getting the string of lights untangled. So I decided to check the base of the post again. This time I got a faint signal on the street side and dropped to my knees and pulled out my trusty Garrett pin pointer–(Thank you Chris!!). And sure enough, there under the thick grass was Sal’s beautiful ring. I stuck the ring on my finger and held it up for Sal to see and the look on his face was priceless!!

I came across a post with a photo of a mans wedding ring. Apparently this young couple had just recently moved to the Central Florida area and were visiting the beach for the very first time. Wading into the water and just getting his legs wet and only dipping his hands in the cool, salty surf was enough to loosen his ring and off it slipped into the churning water. Craig tried desperately to find his ring as he ran his hands along the sandy bottom feeling for his ring. They spent a couple of hours looking and were very discouraged as they finally came to realize they would probably never see his ring again. Leaving the beach was very hard and Craig had even tied a twist tie around his finger to help bring some sort of comfort and ease the pain of loosing his ring.
I sent Craig an e-mail and explained about theringfinders.com and offered my services. He was thrilled to hear of my willingness to help him. That evening he texted me his info about where they had been at New Symrna Beach and what time of day they were in the water. He even drew a picture and sent me that as well—which was a huge help in putting me in close proximity to where his ring was last seen. I reassured Craig that I would do my best and would call him as soon as I had any good news. The next day I hit the beach, armed with my trusty Whites Dual Field metal detector, and began to grid search the vast expanse of water and sand. About 50 minutes into my search I got a good signal and there in the bottom of my Nutall scoop was Craig’s ring! I whispered a quiet “Thank you” to God for helping me find the ring and headed to the car to text Craig the good news!
Later that evening Craig and his wife stopped by the house to pick up his ring. It is hard to put into words the joy and relief and happiness that one experiences during these moments. Craig and his wife were expecting their first little one and their first year wedding anniversary was coming up as well–so getting his ring back was a huge blessing! What an awesome privilege it has been to help this young couple! Thanks for letting me help you!

Nadine was visiting her family in Golden, Colorado from her home state of Indiana. While here she helped put in a play area for grand children and then attended a party that night. During the placement of the pea gravel for the play area Nadine noticed that the 5 carat diamond ring given to her by her husband was a bit loose so she took the ring off and placed it the back pocket of her jeans. After working on the play area Nadine had to quickly get ready as her son and daughter-in-law were having a party. The next morning Nadine went to get her ring our of her pocket and it wasn’t there. Her heart sank. The family searched the house and the yard but her ring was no where to be found.
Nadine found my information on TheRingFinders and called me. We made arrangements for me to perform a search that night after work. After my arrival we talked and Nadine showed me around the house and the yard. I grabbed my CTX and headed for the search area in the yard. I had nearly completed my search of the play area when Nadine came out and said I might as well stop my search. She had talked with a woman who was at the party and she specifically remembered that Nadine did have her ring on that evening.
I asked Nadine if she would like me to help re-search the house for her. She was a bit reluctant due to the families diligent search of the house but she agreed to my assistance. I started in her bedroom and searched in her dressers, the bathroom, under desks and in and around the night stands and bed. I ended up going through her laundry hamper, searching each and every piece of clothing very carefully. Finally at the bottom of the hamper I noticed a cardboard bottom and under that the ring was hiding. I placed her ring on my figure and headed up the stairs to talk with Nadine. As I reached midpoint of the stairs I started holding my chin, unfortunately Nadine had her back to me while we talked for 30-45 seconds. When she turned around and noticed the ring she started crying and jumping around in excitement.
Ring recovered 4-12-2016
Tim Hadsell was visiting his sister in the Denver area from his home in Virginia when he lost his beloved Clemson class ring. It happen during a bit of a snow ball fight after a 20+ inch snow fall. A search for Tim’s ring followed but partially due to the time of day, 10:30PM, the ring was not found. They then found my information on TheRingFinders and contacted me the next day. Due to commitments that evening I could only search the following morning and maybe a few minutes that evening.
That following morning I arrived at the search site around 7:30 and searched for 2 hours. But with 16-20 inches of snow the search was unproductive. After work I returned for a few minutes of searching that evening. I expanded my search area and still nothing. Upon returning to the main search area with a good reduction of snow during the day I heard a faint signal from my CTX. I pulled away 12+ inches of snow and rechecked the signal which had moved. I chased the signal around a bit and suddenly Tim’s ring revealed itself.
Tim got to return home with his ring just a couple of days later.
Ring recovered 3-25-2016
Sid got a call from Yvette two days after her husband lost his platinum wedding band in their back yard. He was shaking pool water off his hands when more than water flew off. The search area was small but the ring could not be located by their visual search nor with a borrowed detector. Sid and Carrie arrived at the search area the next day. Both detectors (Garrett Ace 350 and AT Pro) went wild with interference. Not from power lines, from underground wires in the search area. Down on our hands and knees with pin pointers. Sid hunted the holly bushes and found the ring under leaves at the base of those bushes. Total search time, 20 minutes. Another smiling face (actually, three smiling faces) and we were on our way home. Thank you Yvette for the generous reward. This helps keep these search services available.
I received a call about a lost man’s tungsten wedding band. We had a couple of inches of snow on the ground. As he was cleaning off the car; he got some snow on his hand. He flick his hand to remove the snow but also removed his wedding band. His wedding ring flew into the snow. His searched but could not see any ring.
I started to search of the area with taking my first and second pass with no luck. As I started my third pass of the search area I got the tone that I needed. There was the ring hiding under a couple blades of grass. He was very happy to have the ring return back to him.
