I received a call from Meg who told me she dropped her wedding band in the sand in Avalon, NJ. After speaking to her and asking several questions about where and how she lost it, I started my search. I detected for about 40 minutes without any luck. Since she knew exactly where she dropped the ring, I knew it couldn’t be in the sand and had to be somewhere else. I asked her to check her bag again and sure enough it was there. It must have fallen into something inside the beach bag. The ring was found in the last place that we looked and went right back on her finger!
I received a frantic call from a woman who lost an earring valued close to $4000. I responded and met with her on the beach. She explained that she just came out of the water and while walking up to her beach chair she felt the earring hit her chest before disappearing in the sand. She was frantic and afraid she had lost it forever. After calming her I asked for the other earring to test it on my Equinox. The Equinox easily gave a clear signal of the 1 karat diamond earring. I told her not to worry and began my search. I almost immediately located the gem in the sand. She was so happy and grateful that it had been recovered. Her mind was at ease as she secured them in her purse. I gotta say the Equinox is proving itself to be a valuable machine on the beaches of New Jersey.
I received a call from a woman on July 5th asking for my help to recover a set keys that she had lost on the beach the night before during the fireworks. She had a good idea as to where they were lost and although she had tried finding them the next morning in the sand it was a lost cause. I agreed to come take a look with her and after just a few minutes of search with my Whites metal detector I located the keys. She was amazed at how quick I found them and very happy to have them back. Another happy customer! Recovery #112
Wedding ring recovered in Ocean City NJ. I got a call from fellow ringfinder John Favno asking if I could attempt a recovery in Ocean City. I went there and battled the surf and 4 ft waves to take the ring back from Davy Jones locker using my Minelab Equinox and my T Rex scoop. The owner was quite surprised and happy to have their heirloom returned.
A stellar day with my ring recovery mentor Edward Cropski. I got a call from a crying woman who lost her ring in the surf in Atlantic City. Then a few minutes later I got a call by a man who lost his wedding band in Brigantine. Ed and I went to Brigantine first. When Ed turned his machine on, the ring was right under his coil! Needless to say the family was much appreciative. Then off to AC we went. After about a little over an hour my Foxy Noxy gave me a solid 10 signal. Bam! There was the ring. When I brought it to her she began to cry tears of joy. Probably my best find to date. It’s very satisfying to return an heirloom when someone thinks it’s gone forever!!!
This is my official 4th and 5th recovery. I have just retired from 25 yrs of Law Enforcement service and can dedicate my time to doing recoveries.
I received a call from a gentleman who had lost his white gold wedding ring in the surf while playing with his kids while on vacation in Ocean City. He stated that he lost the ring the day before and actually saw it fall off his finger but couldn’t grab it before it disappeared into the sand & waves. Quickly thinking he took some quick notes as to nearby landmarks, time of day and depth of water where the loss had taken place and drew a detailed map in hopes of returning and finding the ring. Arriving onsite at low tide we reviewed the map and setup a search area. I started my grid pattern and after digging a few coins and trash items but no ring I began to get a bit concerned but continued on. Then his brother in-law arrived and stated he felt we were off a little in our search area so I started working my way towards the other area. Within a few grid searches I received a nice signal on my detector and called them over saying “This sounds good and is probably your ring” I scooped out some sand and brushed the pile with my foot and out rolled his ring Lol! They were amazed not only that I found it but I called it! An instant sense of relief had come to the owners face as it was putting a real damper on the family vacation and now could go show his family that we found it. Back to having a great time as planned. Another great recovery! Recovery # 109
