North Wildwood NJ, 2 Gold Rings found!

  • from Cape May (New Jersey, United States)
I received a call from Lindsay who explained that she had lost both of her rings in the sand this afternoon. Lindsay had taken her rings off and placed the rings on her lap to apply sunscreen. She then stood up and moved about the beach before she realized what had happened. I took the short ride over to North Wildwood and met up with Lindsay. After a brief search she had both rings back on her fingers. One of which had extreme sentimental value as is it was her late mothers ring. Lindsay was referred to me by a previous client that I had recovered an engagement ring for back in 2016 on the very same beach!
Another happy client!

Gold Earring Found!

  • from Pacifica (California, United States)

I was called out by a woman who lost her earring in the thick grass and clover at the Marina Green in San Francisco. She gave me the approximate area that she believed it was lost in. Using landmarks to walk a grid it took about an hour to locate, which considering the size of the area, was quicker than I thought it might be. She was very happy. Her hands were shaking as she tried to pay me my call-out fee and a generous finder’s reward. It was a nice end to the day. Always a pleasure to reunite folks with their precious items – usually more sentimentally than monetarily.

Wedding and Anniversary set of rings recovered in Long Branch NJ

Got an early morning text from Jackie this morning asking for help with in finding her wedding and anniversary ring sets she lost at the beach yesterday in Long Branch. Wanting to enjoy the summer weather we’ve been having, she decided to take the family to enjoy the day at the beach. She took off her rings for safety and placed them in the side pocket of her beach bag. During the course of the day with going in and out of the bag the rings fell out and she didn’t realize it till she went to get them while back at the car. They were gone. She went back down to try and look but had no luck. She told the park ranger to report it in case someone finds them. Living up north she couldn’t come right away to show me where she was but sent a few pictures she took of her son playing and gave me a good idea as to where she was sitting. I loaded up my car and headed right down to the beach and started to search. I wasn’t having much luck and remember she told me there was a flat area by the water she was at. I noticed what was left of that area because it got washed out that night with high tide. I started to search there in the wet sand and within a few passes back and forth I found the first ring and then the rest of them. Luckily the rings didn’t get washed out. I texted her the good news and she couldn’t believe I found them. She was so grateful and relieved, the main wedding ring was handed down through the family and couldn’t be replaced. We made arrangements to meet up that afternoon to reunite her with her beloved rings. A happy ending for everyone.

I received a call from Dawn whose friend saw my Ring Finders South Jersey page on Facebook and referred her to me.  Her daughter Julia lost her Cartier gold Love ring in the surf during a severe storm in Ocean City, NJ.  She was in ankle-deep water when strong gusts of wind suddenly blew the ring off her finger.  After speaking with Julia about the details of how and where she lost the ring, I started the search in knee-deep water and worked my way toward the beach.  I had to expand my search out about another 35 yards and the ring was found on the high on the slope! She was in her backyard when the chain broke causing both rings to fall to the ground somewhere in her back yard. She and family members searched for a week using metal detectors and probes with no luck.  She works during the day so this backyard search was conducted during the nighttime. Ring recovered – in Wyoming Minnesota

  • from Chisago City (Minnesota, United States)

So last week I received a call from a wonderful couple that had lost a wedding ring in the leaves in there back yard. This call was from a local couple about 6 miles away.  This was a treat for me because it had been a while since I have had a call that was just down the road. I know from what I was told that she really cared about her ring.  She was very conscientious about losing the ring so to be safe she removed it and placed it in her pocket.  She had done a little work in a flower garden the corner of the house and when she finished, she felt the ring in her pocket.  She also had her young son out running around in back with her in the back yard. Part of playing around they formed a big pile of leaves started to bury one another in the pile of leaves.  Following playing in the leaves her husband cleaned up the back yard raking and hauling the leaves down to a compost pile further down in the back yard. She had felt for the ring and her heart sank. It was gone. They spent several hours scouring the back yard and leaf pile looking for the ring and nothing was found.

You just know that feeling of something near and dear to your heart and it’s gone. She did a search online for Ringfinders.com and found Paul Nolan a local recovery specialist and texted him.  Somehow the text was missed and the following morning her husband gave Paul a call. He asked if I had received the text that hos wife had sent, “ No”.  So he asked if it would be possible to come out and see if we could find the ring.  About an hour later I pulled into the driveway.  They gave me a quick tour of what had happened. So I grabbed my detector and started a quick preliminary search. My primary search area was going to be the leaf pile in the back.  Within a minute of reaching the pile location I received a great signal.  I tried to carefully move some of the leaves, and it was hiding well.  I had left my pin-pointer in the car so I went back to retrieve that.  I also brought a small battery-operated blower that I grabbed. Once back at the pile I found the location with the pin pointer and put the blower on low and blew the leaves away from a small one foot circle, and there it was down between some rocks.  So I grabbed my equipment and started to hall it back up to the car. As I was heading up she came out on the deck and I asked her if she would like to come grab the ring? What you found the ring? In total disbelief.  Come on down. Her husband soon joined her and I took them down to the location where I had blowen the leaves away and they started looking after about 15 seconds she spotted it in the rocks.  She was ecstatic.    The following pictures are the ring back where it belonged and another photo of the ring.

It was really nice having a call close to home, and one that went as well as could possibly could. What a treat it was. I wish they all would go so well.  Congratulations on getting the ring back.  I am so happy for the both of you.

Once lost – now is found.

lost Gold Chain + Rings found in Fairhaven, Mass

A friend on Facebook sent me a listing of a Gold chain with a diamond butterfly lost that had 3 rings on it at the beach. After reaching out to Alyssa, she finally got back to me after a few days. We chatted about what I do and how it was lost. She had mentioned that for me not to bother to travel so far because she said a couple of other guys had searched high and low for them to no avail. We agreed that maybe someone had seen them on the sand and possibly picked them up.

I again reached out about four days later and told Alyssa that when I got over that way I would check the area in question and went over that day again. I asked if she had gone into the water, she replied no just to the waters edge. She did mention that she walked up to the bathing houses on her way out that day.

Two month’s had gone by. It was honestly haunting me, to know that such a precious set of rings and a gold butterfly chain was just possibly sitting in the sand without no one looking for them any longer. I keep a list of NON found things on my desk. I looked at that note everyday. I decided to make the trip yesterday. I searched the area in question for an hour, I was almost up to the parking lot, but still in the path sand area, when I got that familiar low tone. I dug down, and out popped a Gold ring, still didn’t look familiar. I checked the hole and another low tone, and again out popped two more gold rings and they were attached to a beautiful gold diamond butterfly chain. Now I was smiling. I knew I had Alyssa’s precious rings. The best part is that she had not even known that I went to look for them.

I contacted her again through Facebook and I am happy to say she is reunited with them once again. Never give up, in this case keeping notes and persistence paid off. On a side note to the story, Shawn was off the hook, he apparently was the one who had them in his shirt, and dropped them. Congratulations Alyssa on your return. Sincerely Leighton
