Courtney was playing fetch with her dog outside their hotel. She felt it go and he heard it bounce. After looking for an hour, they contacted me. I was able to get the ring back on her finger within the hour. Good timing too as they were leaving for home that same day.

I received a text one afternoon that seemed a little strange. Debbie had lost an expensive ring and was losing sleep over it. The message focused on how far I was willing to drive and the cost of a several hundred mile ring call. I asked about the ring and got a very vague description of a costly ring with a big diamond and that she was sick over losing it. She was asking me to drive several hundred miles to search, but she was not willing to pay a large amount, and that was assuming I found the ring.
When someone is having health problems and losing sleep over a lost item, I figure I will have to go, regardless if they can afford me. I offered to drive up the next day. I was almost releaved to find she no longer lived in Michigan and would not return for many months. “I will let you know the details later” she said. Perfect I thought, I will likely not hear from her again.
The next time Debbie contacted me it was with a date several weeks in advance. I agreed to the date and got a precious few more details. It was a very expensive ring and she knew exactly where she lost it several years ago. She left me with the impression it was a huge diamond on a thin white gold band.
So now I have a commitment to drive several hundred miles, the promise of a relatively small reward, the ring was lost a few years ago and it is tiny so it will be difficult to find. She knows right where it is in the back yard and has looked hard to find it herself, so no doubt it is now below the surface.
The appointed day came and because I couldn’t interest anyone else in taking the call, I got in the car and drove for two and a half hours to meet Debbie and her mother at her mother’s home in Beaverton. About half way there it started raining so hard I could hardly see to drive.
I tried to maintain my confidence as I realized the back yard was about 40 acres and it was overgrown. Debbie led me across the mowed yard and into the brush. Eventually we reached a very non descript spot on a almost non existant trail. Debbie stopped abruptly and declared “this is the spot” and starts wacking at the brush. Her mother behind me is also wacking at brush. I cant even swing the detector and in fact, I haven’t move a step from where Debbie abruptly stoped.
I had enough of this ever worsening scenario. They were destroying the site and all I could detect was the oversized mucking boots both ladies are wearing. I have never ordered a client to leave a search before, and I knew both ladies were worried as the ring was very valuable. They wanted to watch but it was raining and I talked them into going back to the house.
As they walked away I swung the detector in the original spot Debbie had just trampled and got a hit, a faint but clean repeatable 40 on the meter. My pinpointer located the ring a second later. I had not moved from the spot where I was standing when Debbie halted the procession.

It was hard to keep a discouraged look on my face while I explained it was raining too hard to continue searching. She was shocked when I handed her the ring.
I think this was the most beautiful ring I have ever found. It was nothing like the ring Debbie described. Yes it had a big diamond but it was so much finer than the plain band they led me to believe I was looking for.

Mellisa contacted me for help to locate three of her rings which she lost in the sand at Huntington Beach’s Davenport Beach. She was very distraught and her husband was not to happy either.
Mellisa said the rings were on a towel and when she picked it up the rings were lost. I searched the immediate area of concern but couldn’t find them. I moved towards the water and found the one ring with the bigger diamond.
Just about two feet to the right I located the other two rings one at a time. Every time I handed Mellisa a ring her spirts picked up immensely. They packed up and went home relieved that I was able to find her beautiful set of rings

Ryan contacted me several weeks ago about his wife’s white gold wedding/engagement band set she had lost in a grassy area of the apartments where they lived in Chattanooga. Because of his busy work schedule he had a difficult time getting the search arranged. I think he had actually purchased an off-the-shelf metal detector at a local store, but was apparently overwhelmed with the large amounts of metallic trash in the ground. We finally managed to arrange a search on June 9th. I arrived at the location at 7:15 PM on June 9th. I started my search as soon as I got the story from him, because we didn’t have much daylight left. Around 35 minutes later I found the engagement band portion totally hidden below the grass around four feet from the base of a large tree. It took me right at an hour more to find the wedding band portion, and it was about twenty feet from where I found the other half. It ended up being in an area outside of the original search zone. The grass had been cut, so maybe that’s how it ended up being over there. This portion of the ring was in full view of anyone walikg by, so it’s amazing nobody had seen it.
Tyler was throwing a ball for his dog Daisy, when his wedding ring went flying off. Tyler searched and it was no where to be found. Tyler searched the web for “renting a metal detector” when he found me. He called me and we made a plan to search. It took me two hours of careful grid searching and finally I recovered it.
So excited. I love my job.

Joe and his family spent some time on the beach this Memorial Day weekend in Avalon, NJ. Unfortunately, Claire lost a special piece jewelry that was given to her by her boyfriend. She took off her necklace before going in the ocean for safekeeping. While taking it off, the emerald and diamond pendant dropped in the sand. Joe reached out to me and I was able to meet them 15 minutes later to start the search. After searching for approximately 30 minutes, the pendant was found buried in the sand. A nice ending to a great beach day in Avalon, NJ.

Lost a ring in the sand in Avalon NJ?
Alexandra had been with family at Little Cable Bay in Doubtless Bay, enjoying the sun and a warm but deep rockpool during the day.
She was understandably very upset to learn later that she had lost a very precious gold and diamond earring.
Her partner contacted me as to whether it was possible to recover it.
Unfortunately, I had spent the day conducting a dive search for a lost propeller in a marina at Whangarei, so was too tired to make the drive safely that night. however I was able to negotiate with my long-suffering boss to take the afternoon off the following day and headed up to search for it.
There were two high probability areas; Where they had been based on the beach, and the rockpool.
I quickly scanned the indicated area on the beach, although nothing found.
So, a quick trip back to the car to change in preparation to get wet in the rockpool, accessible only at low tide.
Alexandra had to head back to work so left me to it.
An earlier promising signal in the rockpool turned out to be an ancient 2c piece, followed by an old fishing knife, and many small fishing leads.
Confident the time-critical pool was cleared, I returned to the beach and started a systematic high level search of the dry sand.
About an hour later, the earring surfaced in the scoop, some 15m away from where it was supposed to be, and probably flicked off a towel.
Alexandra met me later in Coopers Beach for an exchange of big smiles and the earring.
“BREAK OUT THE TISSUES FOR THIS ONE!”
Got a call Saturday, from the ring finders page, while up in WV. A newly wed, down in Charolette, NC had lost his wedding ring while aerating his lawn and putting down straw in his backyard. It had been missing since Wednesday of last week. We agreed that after I got off work at 2 on Monday, I would drive down to attempt to find it.
2:00 pm today, I jump in the truck and start the 2.5 hour trip. I get there just before 5 PM and start right away.
30 mins later I get a good on top, but under the straw hit! I look down and I can see GOLD!!!
The story gets better or a little more “tug at your heart strings” sentimental. You might be asking yourself, “WHAT COULD POSSIBLY BE MORE SENTIMENTAL THAN A WEDDING RING?” How about his dad’s wedding ring that was passed down by his mom to use for his wedding after he passed away about 2 yrs ago.
Man I love to help find and reunite lost items for folks!!! I love the drive, hunt, finding them, then seeing that smile on their face again! Only to find out more to the story many times, just like this one!!

Dana sent me an email regarding Todd’s lost wedding band. Todd had to secure a fence near the back of his yard in Red Bank, New Jersey because one of his dogs is a successful escape artist. Unfortunately, the ring came off in the process, but he had an idea on the direction it might be, and that’s where I started to search. The wedding band was found shortly after, buried under a thick pile of leaves.

Daylene has had a very difficult year. Lots of change and health scares led her to hide her rings in her newly purchased home. Months later and still having significant stresses, she couldn’t locate the rings she tucked away earlier and now that was weighing on her as well. Daylene called me and we talked. In the end, we decided that a different perspective, some integrity and a little tenacity would go a long way to providing some relief. She was right, we found the rings but not quite how she thought we would.
