Lost rings in Wildwood Crest NJ, FOUND!

  • from Cape May (New Jersey, United States)

First recovery of 2020 is a success. Received a call from Jackie explaining that she believes she “may” have inadvertently dropped her FOUR rings yesterday while at the beach with her family. After gathering some details I met up with Jackie and her husband, at the beach, about 30 minutes later. This recovery took less than five minutes. Literally walked two steps into the search area and BAM all four popped out of the shallow sand. Jackie broke down immediately, understandably, as one of the four rings belonged to her mother. No hugs due to COVID but super happy to say the least. She is very fortunate that these rings survived in the area they were in for an entire day without being found by a free lance Detectorist.

Janet called me and was very emotional over the recent loss of her wedding ring in her yard. She told me she was married fifty-two years to her husband that recently passed. She was   devastated at the fact she just lost her yellow gold baguette diamond wedding band of thirty years. It meant everything to her for all the memories this ring represented and she was very upset that it was now missing from her finger.

She told me that it had become loose in recent times and on a few occasions it slipped off her finger but she was always able to find it. Because of this she was very aware of the loose fitting wedding ring and was constantly fiddling with it making sure it was still on her finger.

However just a few days prior to our conversation she told me she had walked down her gravel drive way to her mail box. She collected a few small pieces of mail, came back to her garage where she placed the mail down then walked over to her front yard. She then picked up a few sticks and went over to pull some of the ivy vines off a tree trunk before it choked the tree out. She said with a lot of certainty as soon as she walked out of the ivy it came to her immediate attention that her cherished wedding ring of thirty years was no longer on her finger and missing! She then went back into the ivy and started searching for her ring to no avail. Her daughter and son-in-law arrived thereafter to assist her by cutting back the ivy vines in front of the tree. They picked through all the pieces before placing the scraps into a box. They continued to raked the bits up and looked as hard as they could. All this and still no ring was found. After the search efforts in the yard Janet’s daughter did some searching online and found TheRingFinders.com and told her mother to give me a call.

We believed the ring to be safe on her private property so we scheduled a search with a early morning start. Janet pointed out exactly where she walked and her actions that helped put me in the correct spots. With a confident and experienced effort I conducted the search fo her lost wedding ring.

I received a call from a coworker that his friends daughter had recently lost her iPhone in Greenlake Seattle. She had been sitting on the T dock when her iPhone slipped out of her pocket and sank to the bottom of the lake. I learned it was a new iPhone so there was a good chance this phone had some basic water protections built in. We had high hopes that the phone would still be working after the recovery. After exchanging a few txt messages with Grece and a few screenshot it was very clear where the phone was lost. I told her she would not need to be present during the search. I agreed to head out in the next days to recover her phone and contact her with my results after my efforts.

Upon arriving at Greenlake it was moderately busy with walkers enjoying the park. The weather was absolutely amazing with fresh air pleasantly blowing lightly. The swimming areas of the lake had not been reopened due to social distancing policies so the activity on the lake waters was at a minimum with a few paddlers and some random kids swimming. Having the day at the dock I planned on prioritizing Grece’s iPhone recovery and then spending some additional time doing clean up and treasure hunting at this site.  When time allows it’s alway a great opportunity to pack out some garbage from our local waters.

Our Greenlake park is extremely popular serving over one million visitors per year. Knowing that this is a very high traffic park and a hand full our our local underwater treasure hunting buddies visit this site often I was not prepared to find as many goodies under the dock waters as I did!

Amy lost lost her cell phone the other night while walking her dog on the beach. She and her husband went back to the beach later that evening and again the following morning to look for it with no luck.

That is when they reached out to fellow Ringfinder Dave Milstead who referred them to me. After speaking with Amy about the details of how the cell phone was lost, I began a thorough search of

the area. Approximately 45 minutes later, the cell phone was found about 8 inches deep in the sand. Amy was happy to have it returned because she needed it for a meeting later in the afternoon!

Lost Ring Found… Williamsburg, Iowa

Contact:

I found a ring today for the mother of a friend of mine. She was pulling weeds in her strawberry patch and garden and tossing them, the ring must have gone too.

It’s a different kind of ring because there is a latch on it. She hurt one of her fingers and this was a way she could slip the ring on her finger without more pain. Unfortunately the latch would catch on things and open.

It is a gold ring with three diamonds and she was very happy to have it back.

Dropped Phone in Lake Sammamish WA Recovery

Dennis contacted me wanting to know if I could retrieve his dropped cell phone from Lake Sammamish. After a quick chat we set a schedule to meet the next morning at the site. It is important to stress the importance of taking proper safety measures whenever working within any body of water with active watercraft. Proper safety protections were implemented along with on shore lookouts to ensure a safe operating environment for this sallow dive recovery. The mission’s sole objective was to recover Dennis’s fumbled cell phone from a very specific identified drop zone. This was not a long drawn out random treasure hunt. As soon as his phone was acquired from the silty lake floor the dive was concluded and the site was cleared for its typical use.

His iPhone 8 was actually located at 9′ of water. The phone was not visually located and was only recovered by the aid of an experienced under water metal detection process in very low visibility.  Dennis reported later that day that his phone actually powered up but had very little batter life after being in the lake for the past five days.

Friendship Restored: Recovering Lost Rings with Expert Metal Detection in Agoura CA

  • from Santa Barbara (California, United States)
Losing a wedding ring in your yard can turn a joyful moment into a stressful ordeal, especially in areas like Agoura, Thousand Oaks, and Westlake Village, where sprawling landscapes and dense foliage are common. When Tommy called me, Dave, The Ring Finder—a proud member of www.theRingfinders.com—after his friend’s animated gesture sent a ring flying into the night, I knew time was critical. If you’ve lost a ring in your yard in Agoura, Thousand Oaks, or Westlake Village, here’s how professional ring recovery can save the day.
Tommy described the chaotic scene: a 200-square-foot planter filled with rose bushes and bark in his backyard, complicated by nearby metal objects causing interference. As a metal detection expert serving Agoura, Thousand Oaks, and Westlake Village, I arrived ready to tackle the challenge. I started with a handheld pinpointer, crawling through the thorny planter to narrow down the search. The ring wasn’t easy to find—hidden among the bushes—but I wasn’t about to give up.
Switching to my Minelab Equinox 800, I used advanced metal detection techniques to systematically sweep the area. After an hour of persistent effort, a clear tone rang out. There it was: Tommy’s friend’s wedding ring, delicately caught on a rose bush branch. But the surprises didn’t end there—my search uncovered two more rings tangled in the foliage, turning a single recovery into a triple triumph. The relief on Tommy’s face was priceless as these cherished symbols were returned.
Finding a lost ring in your yard in Agoura, Thousand Oaks, or Westlake Village requires quick action and expertise. Backyard landscapes—whether planters, lawns, or gardens—can hide jewelry under layers of soil, plants, or debris, and waiting too long risks losing it forever. That’s where I come in. As Dave, The Ring Finder, I specialize in recovering lost rings and treasures using professional metal detection services tailored to these communities.
If you’ve lost a ring in your yard in Agoura, Thousand Oaks, or Westlake Village, don’t hesitate. Contact me, Dave, at 805-290-5009 or visit www.davetheringfinder.com or www.theringfinders.com/david.mac.donald. With my skills and dedication, I’ll help you reclaim what’s most precious to you—fast. Let’s get your lost ring back where it belongs!

Lost Wedding Band Found Under Porch, Falls Church Virginia

  • from Fairfax (Virginia, United States)

April 16th, 2020. During the Wuhan virus pandemic.

Andrew emailed me asking for help to find a ring, not for himself, but for his friend Hazel. In January, Hazel was sitting on the front porch when her ring slipped from her hand and hit the wood deck. They were not sure if the ring rolled off into some bushes or slipped in between the boards. Andrew knew in his heart that the ring was there and it could be found. He had looked through the openings of the deck and around the bushes with a powerful light, but no luck.

When I arrived, I met Andrew and Mike.

Front of the House

Hoping the ring rolled or bounced off the low deck, I searched the bushes thoroughly with my AT Max. I found the usual hidden trash, but no ring. I then concentrated my search under the deck.

There were only a few inches of space to work. I detached my shaft and reached under the deck with my sniper coil. I borrowed a leaf rake from Mike as the one I brought was too large to fit under the deck. I heard targets and raked them out, then used my pinpointer to scan the debris.

Tight Access Under the Porch

It was then I had the pleasure of meeting Hazel. She remembered precisely how the ring sounded when it rolled on the wooden deck. From her description, I redoubled my efforts to search farther under the deck.

Found!

I stretched my arm and extended the coil to the limit when I heard a promising target. Mentally marking the spot, I used the leaf rake and pulled out more debris. I waved the pinpointer over the dirt and leaves and dug down to find the ring!

Andrew’s determination to help his friend resulted in a happy ending!
