Lost Gold ring Carlsbad beach

TheRingFinders metal detecting service found and returned a lost Gold wedding ring at Carlsbad Beach.

It was 10:45 Friday night when I had recieved a text from Chris who just lost his Gold ring on the shoreline. I called him right away and He explained the story and exact location of where it may have slipped off when a Wave Crashed onto them at the water line.
I checked the Tide book and knew that it was high tide when this was lost and I would have to wait a few hours before I could thoroughly perform a water search with a Metal detector.
When I arrived to the scene at low tide,I  noticed right away that the Ocean had Naturally pushed in soft sand over the past few days plus the beaches slope down to the waters edge had a fresh belly with seaweed. This means that the Gold ring would be Deep,Very Deep.. So I set my equipment up to the deepest settings and began my search sweeping slowly and listening to those faint sounds. After an hour or so and a few Corona caps nearly 2 feet deep,,I had covered the entire soft slope to only wonder if this ring was down beyond depth of any Metal detector may reach or maybe there’s that slim chance it could be simply buried up in the dry sand?

I figured that I should just scan up above the area and to the entrance of where he walked to the beach from.Soon after griding the dry sand I heard a certain tone on this detector..
I stopped and just kept swinging my coil over the target this way,that way,while Smiling because I knew it…One scoop in the sand,Then out came this Gold Wedding Band that he has worn for 14years.  Thank you Chris for the kind reward.

Lost Gold & Diamonds Engagement Ring at Hale Koa Beach Waikiki…FOUND!!!

This ring find began when I got a call from Kim on the beach at Hale Koa hotel. She called to say she was helping Alison who just had her Engagement Ring fall off into the King Tide surf along the shoreline and was frantically searching for it. I asked Kim if she could put Alison on the phone so I could get some details. Alison had been crying awhile but she finally calmed down enough to give me the details as to what happened and the ring. I told her to relax on the beach and I would get there as fast as I could. Rush hour traffic was just starting but I was able to get there in 20 minutes. Alison’s fiancee Spencer met me at the Atlantis pier and took me down to the area of the beach the ring came off. He also told me that they were visiting from St. Petersburg, Florida. Alison was in the water diving down trying to find the ring and had been doing that for quite awhile. I told her to relax on the beach and to let me conduct my search. She told me while her and Spencer were sitting in the shallow water a wave came in and took her ring away. She was fairly certain the wave had pulled her ring seaward. I decided to search the low tide mark and expand from there. I immediately found a pull tab and continued on. Another target sounded really good but it ended up being a metal button. Then the detector ran silent for over 40 minutes. There were absolutely no other targets. Alison knew exactly where she was in the water but the ring wasn’t there. I was at the point of total exhaustion working in the King Tide surf and I told Alison & Spencer I would try one more grid search then would have to comeback in the morning when the tide would be at its lowest. As I walked towards the water swinging my detector I got an awesome tone and there in the wet sand one scoop down was Alison’s stunning engagement ring. The surf actually threw her ring up onto the sand rather then into the water as she had thought. No matter the ring was safely back on her finger in a microsecond. Overcome by the joy Alison couldn’t stop crying and thanking me for finding her ring. What a relief I felt as tourists along the beach that had been watching the search erupted into applause. We had a celebratory drink at the beach bar and met some retired Navy folks from Virginia who joined us in the celebration. They told us they said a little prayer that the ring would be found…my belief is prayers work wonders. Aloha to Alison & Spencer!

Oceanside Metal Detector Lost Ring

Theringfinders Metal Detecting Service in Oceanside Ca has helped Find and return a Diamond Ring.

July 17th I recieved a call 11:30 at night from a Gentleman named Anthony.He tells me his wife had lost her Diamond wedding Ring in the surf. I immediately got ready and was there in less than 20 min. I met him at the location and asked many questions for clues that may lead this Water search to a Fast and Precised Recovery for this Precious ring. Anthony explained to me he was not there on the beach when she lost it but thought for sure way out in the Surf.I then spent over 2hrs swinging,Dragging my scoop griding while overlapping my detector coil with no luck.

The next morning at 1:00am I arrived to search again for 2hrs and was able to rule out where this ring is Not.Confident in my equipment I know that This type of Gold ring I can pick up 2′ down in wet sand.I had already cross grided this large area and Dug all targets that were faint/break in the threshold. After these Minus tides searching twice while fighting the Ocean/Waves and Not to mention our Self defense awareness of it being 2:00am Alone knee to waist deep,pitch black with the homeless and rift raft type of people sleeping nearby Believe me,it ain’t easy ⚒

So I asked a Good friend also a local from Theringfinders to help hunt during the day time low tide on the upper bank/slope where I had not scanned over, just incase she wasn’t out that far or near the deep trough hole at the bottom of the beaches natural incline. John hughes was able meet the wife there during daylight with better details and exact location of when she felt the ring fall off.John also gave this needle in a hay stack a swing for 2 days in the blistering heat with no luck.After our vigorous 3 day search during king tides with Constructive waves and Non Constructive waves I had concluded this was a matter of timing.. So I decided to give this another shot in the dark then arrived at 4am the final day.

After just 20min into scanning I dug up This lost Diamond ring in the wetline just up the slope.The Ocean Is always Hungry and can eat your valuables.After such hard work it was a relief recoverying this Wedding ring and another Prime example that we Never give up!

FitBit Watch Lost at Hermosa Beach, CA…Found and Returned.

I happened to go to local beach last night to do a little metal detecting to keep my skills sharp. I was working down the beach when I saw a group of about 8 people down a way, scurrying around the sand with their phones out and lights on. It looked like a desperate search, so I made my way over to them, and asked if I could help. I explained that I was with The Ring Finders, and we help people find things that they lost. They explained the watch had been on a towel, and then they were chased back by the incoming tide, and believed that is when they lost the watch.

I began my search where they thought they had lost the watch, and found a lot of bottle caps and a few coins. I kept up the grid with similar results. Then the young lady who originally pointed out where to start, realized that we needed to move North of our position after she noticed the trash cans they were in front of earlier. I continued my grid in the new area, working my way closer to the water, again finding more bottle caps and a few more coins. I got to where the water had come up over the edge when I got another good signal. This time it was the watch. Well there was a great hug given, and a lot of excitement. It was now about 10:00 PM, and I did not know how long they had been searching before I arrived, but they were very happy now. A great night out indeed!

Cape Cod: Davy Jones held David Yurman hostage for 9 hours.

A mother’s warning went unheeded – “Don’t take your wedding band to the beach.” Well a bit later Alex’s dive into the salty water provided the action that precipitated the need for a Ring Finder. Yes, his ring of only a year had slipped from his finger into the the depths of Davy Jones’ locker. Withing three hours I received a call for help. It seems all the searching by Alex and the Life Guards could not bring the ring out of the deep waters of Nantucket Sound. The tide was now some 2 feet higher than when the ring was lost and the sun was slipping closer to the horizon. It would be another 5 hours before a search could begin without scuba gear.

The sun set, the moon rose and the Big Dipper was now bright in the sky and Jim (my summer detecting comrade) and I were headed south into the darkness and shoulder deep water. As we began swinging our detectors caused flashes of blue light appeared underwater. The bio-luminescence was being given off when we touched small jellyfish. We also kept an eye to the northern sky, hoping to see the very unusual occurrence of the appearance of the Northern Lights as far south as Cape Cod.

Unfortunately we did not sees the Northern Lights, but Jim did rescue David Yurman from the grip that Davy Jones had on him. Jim’s bright LED light caused the diamonds to sparkle brighter than the stars and the circle of gold to shine heavenly against a bed of sea shells in his steel bucket. Now there was nothing more to do except notify Sandy (Alex’s mother) that the recovery had been made and a meeting for the return set.

The return was delayed due to Cape Cod traffic, but the wait was well worth it for everyone. Jim and I had a chance to pass on information about metal detecting, a few stories, and return the ring. As a Thank You gift, Sandy had brought some very special and delicious cookies, which were shared with Eleanor as she was the one that gave Sandy my contact information. Sandy will pass the ring onto Alex on their next meeting. Until then pictures are of the ring and three smiles will fill the void held for Alex’s smile which I am sure matches that of his wife’s because of The Ring Finders.

Lost Gold & Diamond Engagement Ring at Ala Moana Beach…FOUND!!!

This ring find began while I was on the hunt for a Silver Heirloom ring at Ala Moana Beach Park. I was hunting the shoreline rocks when a gentleman came over to me and asked if I could find a young ladies ring that just fell off in about waist deep water. Knowing this other ring find was going to require clear water and scuba I said sure I’ll be right over. There were about 20 people in the murky water diving down looking for the ring thinking the sun might glint off the diamond. I couldn’t even see my coil in the water. High tide and at the end of the day this beach is cloudy with barely 1 foot visibility. I went in the water to meet the young lady and found out the whole group were members of the Triathlete Club “Boca Hawaii”. I found Kristen and her husband Brad who live in Honolulu and are from Buffalo, New York. While Kristen was doing some swim training she went to adjust her Engagement Ring and it fell off into the murky water and disappeared. I started a grid search but so many people were in the way I asked Brad if he and Kristen could remain in the water and have everyone else clear the area. The evacuation went off without a hitch and I had Brad & Kristen be my grid markers as we did a proper search without all the distractions. We searched from East to West and on about the 7th leg no more then a few feet from Kristen I got a great tone and in one scoop I saw Kristen’s ring. I walked over to her and let her pull the ring out of the scoop. She was so happy and shocked at the same time and tears began to flow. Another successful recovery and for such a wonderful couple. Lost Property Irons (markers) Found in Southfield Michigan

This adventure got started when this nice lady contacted me after finding the ringfinders site.

She asked if I could find property irons as she was preparing to have a fence installed for her dogs.

I said sure I will come out and when on site I set up the MXT and got a good signal from the property pins.

It was nice to see her happy as I showed her the irons, and soon, hers dogs can roam freely around the property!

As a ex land surveyor,  I was thrilled to find these all in good condition and unaltered since they were set in the early 1960’s.

Diamond Engagement and Wedding Ring Set Lost at Manhattan Beach, CA…Found and Joyously Returned.

I received an email from Pierra this morning explaining how she had lost her engagement and wedding rings the evening before. She had them “safely tucked away”, when her small child apparently opened up the purse and dumped them into the sand. They were unable to find them, but did not contact me until this morning. This worried me, because I know that this beach is meticulously cleaned by the county daily, and I feared the rings may have been swept up by the mechanical sifting machines. Her husband called, and I agreed to meet Pierra at the spot, because I know that not everything happens as we think.

When I got to the area, and was shown by Pierra where they had been sitting, I was encouraged because I could see that the sifting machines had gone through the area, but not where she had been sitting. I began to search where she showed me, and found a dime. I made a few more passes when Pierra came over to say that she thought the area might be a bit more South of my search area because of some trash she had recognized from the day before. I then lined up in that spot and began a new grid. After a few more passes, I got a good signal and dug. I checked my scoop and saw a real nice diamond band, so I asked her how many rings were involved; she said two. I scanned the remainder of the sand I had removed, and recovered her engagement ring as well. She was very happy, and with great joy to have her rings back on her finger. It was a great opportunity to see such a wonderful smile, and to know that after a tough night’s sleep last night, tonight’s sleep for her will be sweet.
