Bean Point, Anna Maria Island Lost Ring

Jon and family were down from Ohio for another vacation at their favorite spot on Bean Point, Anna Maria Island. Last year in November they were in the same area and Jon lost his wedding ring. This year he was being careful and took his new ring off and put on their blanket. After a few hours enjoying the beach they returned to the blanket, packed up their things and shook the sand out of the blanket. Oh no they forgot about his ring and now he had lost another wedding ring to the sands of Anna Maria Island. On returning home to Ohio, Jon found SRARC on the web and contacted us on the outside chance someone had found his ring. He provided a Google Earth map with approximate locations for both rings. Mike got the call and thought it was a long shot but decided to try for the recently lost ring anyway. Apparently Jon is a darn good guesser because after getting a few more details Mike was able to recover his ring in about 5 minutes. Mike is wondering if the second ring will be so easy. All our best to Jon for the return of his ring.

Lost Ring Anna Maria Island

Jeff and Debbie came down to the gulf
coast from central Florida for a quick break before the start of the college
school year. Jeff is a professor of accounting at College of Central Florida
and wanted to start the new year rested and ready to hit it hard. One afternoon
they decided to go out to Bean Point to enjoy the sun and gulf. They set up
their chairs and prepared for the intense sun buy applying suntan lotion.
Debbie removed her rings and dropped them into the cup built into her chair.
She applied her lotion and promptly forgot about her rings. When it came time
to leave they folded everything up and headed for the pickup. Later that night
as Debbie was laying in bed she panicked when realized her rings were not on
her fingers and a sleepless night followed. The next morning, they returned to
search but had no luck. They googled “lost ring Anna Maria” and SRARC Ring
Finders popped up. They contacted us and soon a hunt was organized, and Mike
Miller met them at the site. Jeff laid out where he thought they were sitting
and in less than two minutes the rings were back onto Debbie’s fingers.
There were lots of smiles and hugs and Mike even got a “I love you” from
Debbie. After a sleepless night they can return to relaxing without a gloom and
doom cloud over their vacation. It was a great pleasure to see the smiles
return to Jeff and Debbie’s faces.

Lost Wedding Set Recovered on Anna Maria Island

Keith, Karen and their two children Charlie and Katie came from North London to visit friends and hang out on Anna Maria Island for a couple weeks. On one of our hot summer days Karen needed to cool down so she waded out into the gulf to about waist high water. She spent a little while out there with her children playing a little and she tossed a ball once or twice. She dipped down and then went into shore again. Just before reaching the shore she sat down in the ripples, put her hands back behind her and leaned back on them. After setting there a while she got up and went up to their chairs on the beach where she reached for a towel. At that moment she realized that her wedding ring set was gone. They all looked for some time in the area of water where she had been setting. After finding nothing their friend Tracy googled about lost rings and found SRARC Ring Finders. Keith then contacted Howard Metts who contacted Mike Miller and a hunt was scheduled. After hunting the area where Karen thought she lost her rings Mike spread out into deeper water and after about an hour a good hit proved to be her wedding ring. Mike continued to hunt and then returned the next day but could not find the engagement ring. Mike then reached out for some additional help and returned a couple of days later with Paul Hill and Carl Boekemier. They hunted about three more hours but sadly never found the engagement ring. We are sad that we could not return Karen’s engagement but feel good about at least letting her return to London wearing her wedding ring. It was a pleasure to meet the whole family and we wish them a safe and pleasant trip home.

Ring Lost on Anna Maria Island is Recovered by SRARC

Patrick, Erika and children along with Erika’s parents were down from Ohio for a nice break before school begins. They were having a great time as this was their first stay on Anna Maria Island and they fell in love with the area. Midway through their week here, Patrick was in waist deep water tossing a ball back and forth to Erika who was up on the beach. For some reason Patrick reached over and felt for his wedding ring. It was gone!!!!!!! They search with dive masks for hours but had no luck. They decided to contact the various agency’s in the area to report that it was missing and in the process Patrick googled “lost Ring Anna Maria Island”. When he saw SRARC ring finders he clicked on the site and discovered we would come look for the ring. He contacted Howard Metts and the information was passed on to Mike Miller. Mike scheduled a hunt and met the family and Carl Boekemier at the location. Patrick was able to narrow the area we needed to search and after about 15 minutes Carl got the hit. The whole family was around us when Carl pushed his scoop toward Patrick and with a great big smile on his face Patrick reached in and grabbed his ring. Erika yelled let me see, and when she saw the ring her face turned into a great big grin. Their son had been hunting the beach for treasure and was finding mostly bottle caps with a few coins mixed in. Carl let him use his detector for a few minutes and to listen to what a gold ring sounded like. I think we might have inspired a budding young metal detectorist. Patrick told me after his experience with us he intends to encourage his son to pursue the hobby. That makes SRARC break out into a great big smile. Our best to the family on returning home with a fond memory of our area.

Ring Lost Anna Maria Island, Recovered

Ed and Christi brought the family down to Anna Maria Island from Saint Lewis to celebrate the successful surgery on their son for a brain tumor. It was a time to celebrate after a very tough year of medical procedures. On their first day they of course had to hit the beach. Ed was bouncing his daughter in the waves as they crashed on to the shore, when he felt his wedding ring slip off. He couldn’t believe his bad luck after such a hard year. The ring had never been off his finger since his wedding day and he searched franticly for hours. That evening he found SRARC Ring Finders and they scheduled a hunt for the following day. Since Mike, Nick, and Joe were already on the island the original hunters handed the hunt off to them. Ed had done a great job of identifying where the ring had come off and he led the team right to the site. In a few minutes Mike got the hit and up came the ring. Ed was overcome and was shaking with delight as the ring was returned to his finger. Our prayers are with Ed and Christi’s son for a speedy and full recovery from his surgery.

Lost Ring Anna Maria Island, Recovered

Kristi and Ronnie were out boating with the whole family on two boats anchored up close to the beach on Anna Maria Island near the Sandbar restaurant. They had been married in that area just one year ago. It was getting pretty hot so Kristi and a few others jumped out of the boat to cool down and then all hell broke loose!!!!! A large swell was breaking onto the shore which almost knocked Kristi off of her feet, throwing her toward the shore. As she struggled to regain her footing, she saw her wedding rings float off of her finger and disappear into the gulf. The whole family searched and searched but could not find them. When they finally had to leave, Kristi was heartbroken. Somehow they discovered SRARC Ring Finders and provided information as to where the rings had been lost. The next day Mike Miller searched with no luck in what turned out to be the wrong place. The following day, after getting more information from Ronnie,
Mike returned and was joined by Joe Borg and Nick Hall. They hunted for two and a half hours and were about to give up when Mike got lucky and found both rings about a foot apart. Kristi drove down from Tampa and met the team where they had just complete another successful hunt. When she got her precious rings back she was shaking with joy. Mike got several big hugs and will never forget the smile on her face. Way to go SRARC team.

Lost Ring Is Recovered At Longboat Key

Jamie and Matt came down to Longboat Key for a one-week vacation with the whole family to get away from the bitter cold in New York and Washington DC. When they arrived, they went out onto the beach to join Mom, Dad, and siblings. Jamie took off her wedding set, put the rings into her shirt pocket and proceeded to lather up the kids with suntan lotion. When done, the started walking down the beach looking for shells.

Apparently as she bent over to pick up shells or to pick up the kids the rings fell out of her shirt pocket. At some point later in the day she remembered her rings were in her pocket, but when she reached for them, they were gone. Her heart sank and she called out to her family that her rings were missing. They searched but had no luck. Later that afternoon Matt found SRARC on the Ring Finders site.

A meeting time for the next morning was arranged and Paul Hill, Ed Osmar, and Mike Miller showed up to search. They were told the just before they arrived one of the rings had been found by Jamie’s brother-in-law, but the engagement ring was still missing. After listening to what had happened and going to the area where the ring had been found a search began. After covering the area around where the one ring had been found the group divided the beach into 3 sections and proceeded to hunt those areas. When Paul got done in his area, he returned to an area close to where the first ring had been found. Sure, enough in a few minutes he got the signal and out came the beautiful engagement ring. We spent just under an hour searching and the payoff was outstanding. We got lots of cheering and a boat load of smiles. Now the whole family and relax for a week in the sun without worrying about the lost rings.

Ring Lost At Jewfish Key, Recovered By SRARC

Rick and his wife Dale had pulled their boat up to a sand bar near Jewfish Island and were enjoying the ankle-deep water and tossing a football. Suddenly Dale realized that her diamond wedding ring that Rick have placed on her finger 17 years ago was missing. They immediately started feeling through the sand and got everyone nearby to help but to no avail the ring was not found.
Later that evening Rick found The Ringfinder website and contacted Tom Jones. Tom sent out a request for hunters to meet Rick at the nearby boat ramp. Tom Jones and Mike Miller met Rick and went out to the sandbar. Once anchored up Rick walked over to a navigational sign and started counting his steps back toward the boat. After 25 steps or so he stopped and said, “it’s right here in this area” while swinging his arms in a circular motion. Mike started hunting from that spot while Tom was asking Rick the normal questions like which way was she facing, is she right or left handed, did she fall. Mike interrupted with the question. ”What does it look like?” as he pulled the ring out of his scoop.
Rick immediately called Dale to give her the good news that her precious lost ring was found.
