Unique Gold Engagement Ring Found and Returned to Grateful Owner.. Malibu, CA.

 I recovered a one of a kind engagement ring that was designed by Diana’s husband’. The search was a little different with a few unknowns. She wrote the story of what had happened and how we found it.

THIS IS DIANA’S STORY …

I called Stan out of confusion and desperation: I thought I had left my engagement ring at home during a trip to the beach, but could not find it anywhere. I had a strange memory of holding it before I left, but could not remember where I put it down. Since it was nowhere to be found in my apartment, my next best guess was that I had absently-mindedly pocketed it and taken it to the beach with me. Perhaps it had fallen out of my shorts and onto the sand while I was sunbathing ? It was sort of a long shot, but I had to try. I contacted Stan through RingFinders.

Stan met me at the small beach in Malibu. He methodically combed through the sand for nearly two hours, but the ring didn’t show. We walked back to our parking spot and got into our cars, about to leave, when I received a picture from my friend. The photo showed the exact location where we had been laying out. I texted Stan and he kindly agreed to return to the beach with me and give it another go. Within 5 minutes, HE FOUND IT! I truly couldn’t believe it – – it was a miracle.

Suffice to say, if you have any suspicion that your jewelry may have fallen off into sand, or dirt, or bushes or any hard-to-comb area, call Stan. We could have easily given up – – especially when we weren’t 100% sure the ring even came to the beach with me in the first place – – but Stan stuck it out and found it. I absolutely could never have done it with out him. Now every time I look at my ring, I’m even more grateful, knowing how close it came to being lost forever. Thanks to Stan, it wasn’t.

She neglected to say, when we returned for our second search, the beach had filled up with more sunbathers, I was not sure I could search thoroughly. Fortunately the ring was found in an open space or I would have waited for the beach goers to leave.

Found lost wedding band in a pasture in Springville, Al.

Got a call from David, about a lost wedding band that had found it’s way into a pasture. I was working at the fire station that day and could not make it out there but set up a time 2 days later to see what we could come up with. In Davids words…. “My wife gave me her rings to hold on to while she road her horse, we were about to leave and I was gonna ride our other horse bare back out of the barn and into the pasture. As  I got to the pasture I remembered that one of or other horses lost a shoe, so I road around looking for it. As I got to the back 40 there was no sight of the lost shoe, so I ran her all the way back to the front of the pasture and I completely forgot I had my wife’s rings in my chest pocket! Reaching down in my pocket I noticed that the wedding band was gone. So I marked the area where I had ran my horse from with landscaping flags hoping that would help define the area we it could possibly be. I went and bought a cheap detector and tried to find it first myself, after several hours into searching I had not been able to comeup with anything. Then my wife stumbled on the ring finders website and we found Richard listed on there and he was close by. Thanks to Mr. Archer we found the lost ring

Lost Ring Anna Maria Island

Jeff and Debbie came down to the gulf coast from central Florida for a quick break before the start of the college school year. Jeff is a professor of accounting at College of Central Florida and wanted to start the new year rested and ready to hit it hard. One afternoon they decided to go out to Bean Point to enjoy the sun and gulf. They set up their chairs and prepared for the intense sun buy applying suntan lotion. Debbie removed her rings and dropped them into the cup built into her chair. She applied her lotion and promptly forgot about her rings. When it came time to leave they folded everything up and headed for the pickup. Later that night as Debbie was laying in bed she panicked when realized her rings were not on her fingers and a sleepless night followed. The next morning, they returned to search but had no luck. They googled “lost ring Anna Maria” and SRARC Ring Finders popped up. They contacted us and soon a hunt was organized, and Mike Miller met them at the site. Jeff laid out where he thought they were sitting and in less than two minutes the rings were back onto Debbie’s fingers.  There were lots of smiles and hugs and Mike even got a “I love you” from Debbie. After a sleepless night they can return to relaxing without a gloom and doom cloud over their vacation. It was a great pleasure to see the smiles return to Jeff and Debbie’s faces.

Heirloom ring recovered near Chattanooga, TN

I had flown across country to attend the Chattanooga, American Digger magazine’s Civil War relic show and sale and end up doing a ring recovery.
The family of a young lady were staying at a cabin in the mountains of Tennessee having a family reunion over the 4th of July weekend when a ring given to her by her boyfriend, Sean, went missing. This ring, a gold band, is not just a simple gold ring this ring belonged to one of his great grandparents so it is a cherished family heirloom. The events of the day had the family playing volleyball in the lower flat area (a couple of acres of grass) about a hundred yards from the cabin. And then they spent some time around the firepit that night. The ring could be in either location or some place in between these areas. Potentially a VERY large search area.
The ring search was set up by my friend Craig after he had seen a posting online. We contacted the owner of the property who granted us permission to search for the ring. Craig and I met the owner at the gate for the property and she let us in and showed us around a bit. I grabbed one of my detectors and headed out while Craig readied his equipment. It was getting warm so I wanted to get going sooner rather than later. I looked over the site quickly and determined to start my search at the walkout basement door area and search to the firepit. Within a few swings I heard a promising signal, I parted the grass and there laid a lovely gold ring. I returned to the car just as Craig had finished his prep and was heading out to conduct the search. It was a quick search.

***A diamond engagement ring was pulled off Susanna’s finger when she was hit by a large wave in waist deep surf. The same wave also washed high up the sloping beach to pull her beach bag with car keys and a cellphone into the surf.

Susanna called me after locating my information on line. We discussed the time of day of the loss so I could determine the height of the tide when the ring came off her finger. Very important was the fact that she immediately knew when and where the ring left her finger.

All Southern California beaches are different and the sand conditions change daily. Sometimes I can tell that our odds are better to find a ring that has been lost in surf when they tell me what beach. Most times you can’t tell if it’s going to a difficult search until you get to the site. I try to tell these facts to people that need my help before going on a call out.

Susanna met me the next afternoon at low tide. She was confident as to the area of the beach where she had been. I was prepared to search chest deep water if I had to. The sand and slope conditions looked perfect for a successful search and it was only one day since the loss.

Started the grid in knee deep water finding a few coins then a silver colored ring with a diamond stone. It was not her ring but conditions made me feel that Susanna’s ring could still be holding in this type surf/sand conditions. After a half hour working parallel to the beach I was able to find Susanna’s white gold diamond engagement ring that had three sparkling diamonds. It was at the very end of the area she laid out for me to search. The keys and cellphone were not found they were not the object of this search.

I went up onto the beach where Susanna was with her fiancé, Alex. When I held up the ring both of them started yelling with excitement and joy. Alex actually gave me a big hug trying to lift me off my feet. There wasn’t many people one the beach but a couple people came to see what had happened. This was probably one of the most emotional recoveries I’ve done.

Lost Ring 3rd Beach Stanley Park…Found

I’m finally back to work after extended time off for a broken elbow, I finished a long day in downtown Vancouver and headed home, an hour drive away. I just parked the car at home, it’s 10:20 pm and the phone rings… A  young lady on the other end said are you the ring finder guy ? I said yes I am,  she went on to tell me that her very good friend lost a very sentimental gold ring at third beach in Stanley Park…Only 10 minutes away from where I was just working. I jumped back in my car and headed back to Vancouver.

I arrived just before 11:30 and met both ladies in the dark and they showed me the area the ring was lost. It only took about 6 minutes to find her ring, it was a very cool and different style of ring that was custom made. It gave me an unusual target signal and I was expecting that after she described the ring to me before I started the search.

Lost Ring in Coquitlam River…Found.

A concerned mother called me yesterday and told me that her son lost a silver ring that was given to him by his late Uncle, the mothers brother. She said the ring was lost in the river and the current was pretty strong. These can turn out to be a very difficult search as the bottom of the river is rocky not sandy. That means the ring could bounce along with the current and travel down stream, so I started at the top where it was lost and did a test drop with a sliver ring to see if I could find that one. The first drop I could see that it settled behind a rock.

I started my search where the young man said the ring had fallen into the water but no luck. I worked my way down stream 3 or 4 times, up & down, but no luck. I asked the young man again if he could show me where he thought the ring fell into the water, he asked his friend and they were pretty sure of the location.

Because I worked that area 4 times I decided to go up stream a little and bang! about 8 yards up from the spot they said it fell in I found his ring!

Grandmother’s Ring Recovered, Cincinnati, Ohio

I received an email late Monday evening with a photo of the site where this ring was lost and suggestions for beginning my search if I could help search for it. It turned out that I work very close to the site where the ring was lost and so I replied that I would search in the morning and again at lunch if necessary.  The owner and some friends had searched for the ring after it was lost and they had gone back to the site to search again Monday evening with flashlights. Returning home afterward, the owner replied to my email and we agreed to meet at the site during lunch the next day.

I prepared my gear and got an early start Tuesday morning to begin my search of the site. The emailed photo and suggestions were really accurate and I was fortunate and able to locate the ring within 45 minutes of starting my grid search of an area about the size of a football field. I was really pleased to be able to locate this ring and to get to work on time!

In the ring owner’s own words:

“It was my grandmother’s ring who had passed a little over two years ago. I was lifting weights earlier in the day and had taken my ring off and tied it to my shoe lace because I have bent rings before when lifting while wearing them. My work has a kickball league and I was hurrying from the gym to our kickball game and didn’t put my ring back on my finger when I arrived so it was still tied to my shoe. During the game my shoe lace unfortunately came untied while I was running and my ring slipped off… that’s when I contacted Doug while looking for a way to try to find it in the grass!”

Her smile tells the story and I’m happy to have been able to help!

Lost Titaninum Ring In The Grass Found In Detroit Michigan

Dark Metal Lovers!

The pictured couple were out walking the dog and listening to some music this evening when the dog spotted a squirrel and decided to bolt off and as the leash quickly slipped thru the man’s hand his ring slipped off. Not being sure of the area in question as there was a small pond and some of the area was covered in 4 to 5 inch deep pickers, easy for the dog to go thru but the couple was not able to search. When I arrived the evening was upon us as most of the orangey sunset sky was gone. Setting up my MXT and activating the backlight feature made it nice for a night search.
I decided to start with the picker area first as there seemed to be a bumper crop of the Michigan State Bird the Mosquito upon us making Dracula seem harmless!
I got a few below surface junk signals then a small signal came thru that read 3″ deep when I pressed the coil down and scanned it across the pickers.
I put the pin-pointer into the area and got a vibe, reached down thru with my gloves on and the light on the pin-pointer revealed this beautiful Dark Metal Titanium Ring! I signaled for them to come over and as we all looked down at the ring I said… dark metal, dudes!
We all laughed and went back into the house to get some more pics.
Not sure what they were listening to during their walk, but will finding their dark metal ring turn them into dark metal music lovers?
Hmmm…Only time will tell.
