Angie found me in The Ring Finder Directory and contacted me to see if I would be willing to search for her recently lost white gold diamond engagement ring. She conveyed to me that she had been throwing a ball to her dog 2 weeks prior in her backyard and she felt the ring fly off her hand during one of the throws. Unfortunately, not only was her backyard quite large but there was also a large pond that was definitely a possible recipient of the ring. Angie mentioned that she had already had someone with a metal detector search the grounds for many hours and when they failed to recover the ring she began to assume it landed in the pond. She requested that i re-search the ground and then if possible check the pond itself. It was a big job with a lot of ground to cover so I didn’t hesitate to get in touch with my friend and fellow Ring Finder, John Favano, to team up for the mission. We arrived at the property on Thursday, May 14 and met Angie in her backyard. We had her share any and all details on the ring itself and reenact the throw that resulted in the lost ring. She showed us a picture of the ring on her phone as well. Based on the angles of the throw she described and the approximate maximum range the ring could have traveled,  John and I gridded out a 50 yard square area where we thought the ring could have landed. I got in the water and began searching the shallows closest to the home while John focused on searching the yard leading down to pond. While searching we both had quite a few good signals where we thought we had it but they turned out to be trash. We were at it for about an hour when Angie said she needed to run out for 30 minutes. We told her we would continue to search the area. A minute after she pulled out of the driveway I was on the bank of the pond and had a perfect gold ring signal on my machine. I was amazed and crazy excited to look down in the tall grass and see her gorgeous ring laying there.

When Angie returned with her 2 young girls in tow John met her on the driveway and told her I had a question for her. When she walked over to me I suggested to her we were still searching but I wanted to see the picture of her ring on her phone again. She took out her phone and pulled up the picture of the ring…John and I both commented at what a beautiful ring it was…and that’s when I pulled the ring out of my pocket and said that “it sort of looks like this one”. As a Ring Finder you never get immune to the pure, visceral joy and emotional reaction that occurs when handing over a lost ring. Angie could not contain her joy and relief for several minutes and John and I were so pleased we were able to come through for her. High fives between John and I and complete agreement about how great it is to be a Ring Finder!

Gold Necklace Lost In Backyard Found In Bixby, Oklahoma

I had a missed call. Called the number and said what can I for you. A young lady had said that she had lost a gold necklace in her back yard. I got her address and said I’m on my way. When I arrived I talked to VANIA and she told me what had happened. She said her boyfriend was messing around and said I can find ur necklace if I throw it in the backyard. Well 6 days later the necklace was still missing. So I went and VANIA showed me the area. I started the search and her boyfriend said it’s definitely over by the fence. So I searched no necklace yet. I went back to the edge of the patio and started from there took about 5 steps and that sweet sound was nice to hear. (They couldn’t find the necklace because it blended in so good in the dead grass, I had to use my pinpointer.) Thanks VANIA for getting ahold of me.

White Gold Engagement Ring Lost at Petone Beach, Wellington, New Zealand

Jane had been playing catch in waist deep water at Petone Beach, Wellington.  She fell, touched the bottom and as she came up a wave hit her and she felt her engagement ring slip off her finger.

Her partner helped her search but the ring had disappeared.

I arrived the following day and her partner put me in the area where they thought the the ring had come off.  I searched for about 3 hours as the tide went out.  I tried various detectors but couldn’t find the ring.  Surprisingly the sand was reasonably clean and I pulled every signal that I hit.

I returned a couple of days later and settled on my Garrett Sea Hunter PI.  I extended the area and grid searched as finely as I could.  Four hours later and the tide getting higher I rang Jane and gave her the bad news that I couldn’t find it.

I was gutted, knowing that it was out there somewhere and I had missed it.  A couple of days later I rang Jane and told her I would have another go at finding it.  Jane waded out in the cool water with me and showed me where she thought they were.  This was pretty much the same as where her partner put me on the first day.  I put a pole in the sand as a marker and did concentric circles until I was at a 10 metre radius.  With the time coming up to 3 hours in the water I decided to start searching parallel to the beach.  After 3 lines, and at the right depth, I got another good signal.  I couldn’t believe it when Jane’s beautiful white gold and diamond ring popped up from just under the surface.

I was able to return the ring to Jane at her work which was only a few minutes away.  Couldn’t get a photo of her at work but I can assure you the smile was worth all the hard work.

LOST WEDDING RING WAIKIKI FOUND

This recovery started when i  got the text from Melissa about her lost diamond wedding rings in Ala Moana Waikiki area. She lost them the daybefore and so i gathered my gear and  I was able to head out and look the very next morning on a very well known and hunted beach. I had my fair share of concerns but needed to give a thorough search regardless. As i was searching the area in which Melissa gave I started to take notice that i looked in the area and nothing but loose change and bottle caps. So i decided to open up the search area because I’ve been looking for 2 hours and no rings. About a half hour in the search i get a great tone and there in the xtreme scoop is 1 of the 2 missing rings. I then start a circle grid which i started to overlap my previous grid and i get another good tone but very faint. i dug a good 5-6 inches before lo and behold there in the bottom of my scoop is Melissas 2nd ring. I was so happy i ran to my belongings on the beach and noticed that my phone had no battery life. As i’m standing there happy I could hear a voice that said ” Did you find it”? It was the life guard who i talked to earlier about these lost now found rings. His reaction was priceless… NO WAY! With a loud voice. We talked for a little while and then I left the beach with a grateful heart because I know I’ll get to return these beauties. What was thought to be a Gone forever changed! I charged my phone and later that evening my family met up with Melissa and we returned the wedding rings. Happy to help and return these beauties! Another successful recovery.

Biggest thing is to contact me as soon as possible because it increases the chances of me finding and returning your lost rings.

Lost 14K Gold Wedding Band! Sherwood Hights Neighbourhood, Sherwood Park, Alberta.

I received a call from Derrick requesting my service to locate his dad’s lost wedding band which he had lost yesterday while out in the back yard building a snow man with his grand children.  Derrick told me he and his dad spent all afternoon searching for the ring with no luck, and today Derrick went on the internet to see where he could rent a metal detector and that’s where he came across my blog page.

I told Derrick I would be down to his place shortly.   When I meet Derrick’s dad at the door, he showed me the approximate where the ring was lost and within 15 minutes I had the ring back on his dad’s finger.

Lost earring in Kearney Mesa found

Naomi was at a local park and lost a family heirloom earring. There were a couple of areas where she had been, including where she was playing with some dogs on the ground. On arrival, we met and she explained the situation and showed me the two areas, both of which are on a baseball field. Unfortunately, there was some guys playing ball on the field, so, one of the areas over by the left field foul line was busy. The other area was deep in right field and not too close to where they were playing, so, that’s where I started. Naomi had the mate to the lost earring, so, I was able to use it to give me a sound and I.D. number to go by. Wow, that little thing didn’t give much of a signal, in fact, in a couple of modes, it didn’t register at all! The best signal I could get was in the Gold prospecting mode, where I got a fairly solid 1 on my machine. I started swinging over the grass and found there were so many signals that I had to eliminate all the other numbers except 1 and 2 or I would be there for days! I made a couple of quick passes where she thought she had walked hoping to get a quick recovery. No dice, so, out came the cones and I started to do a complete grid while she walked over to see how long they would be in the other area. As it turned out, they were just about done, but, that was unnecessary. I decided to complete my grid and on the second pass, the weak little sound on my Equinox that I was hoping for, alerted me to the earring sitting there in plain sight. In a flash, Grandma’s earring was back on Naomi’s ear where it belongs. A pleasure to met you Naomi, and thank you for the reward.

Ring lost at Mission Bay found

Michael was out on the beach at Mission Bay in front of his apartment when, while waving to someone, his loose fitting wedding ring flew off into the sand. A search by sifting through the sand proved fruitless, so, an online search was in order where he found The Ring Finders website. When I turned on my phone in the morning, I noticed the text and contacted Michael. We made plans for a 10am meet and search. After arriving, meeting Michael and his lovely wife, we went to the site while talking and getting the ring loss story on the way. The search area was fairly large, but, not ridiculous. All dry sand and maybe 30 X 100 feet or so. I started at one end and after 3-4 passes, several coins, and a dog tag later, his gold wedding band came to light. All smiles on the happy couple now and thank you for the reward.
