Lost ring in Kaplan, LA – Found

  • from Lafayette (Louisiana, United States)
Contact:

Ashley called on December 22. Her husband, Rahn,  lost his wedding band, while working in the yard. Carrie and I were in California, spending time with the grandkids, so we set the 28th for the hunt. We arrived back from California and went the next day to FIND THE RING. Rahn had worked in the back yard but security camera footage showed the ring still on his finger as he left to do front yard work. He next went to the front yard to clean grass from three grated yard drains. The grass was tossed to the side and the ring may have left his finger with that motion. Carrie and I each hunted around a separate drain with no luck. I went to the third and final drain. The metal grating had caused problems searching the others but I got a strong signal a foot from this drain, far enough for the metal grating to not interfere. Buried in the grass was the prize. Ashley was beyond excited. It was a pleasure reuniting Rahn with his beautiful ring. Thank you for your generous reward. This allows us to continue providing our services.

Lost White Gold Diamond Woman’s Ring Set in Westerville, OH. “FOUND” with Testimonial

I received a call about a white gold diamond wedding ring set lost while cleaning off her car from snow and ice. She remembers seeing the rings as she starting scraping the ice off and by the time she completed the whole car and got inside, the rings were missing. She searched and searched with no luck in the snow cover ground.

I got there in the evening with single digit temperatures, a flashlight and my metal detector to start searching. I searched around the car and yard with no luck. Finally, I searched behind the car bewteen the sidewalk and the road where there was undistrub snow. I found one ring and the second about a foot apart from each other. I went to the front door of the house and ask if these are her rings and she started to cry in joy that her rings have been found.

See her testimonial below.

Dear Jon,
We couldn’t thank you enough for not only coming on the same day we called you, but at night and in the bitter cold no less!
I lost not only my engagement ring but my wedding band that was only 7 months old.
I was in a frantic hurry on a frigid cold Wednesday morning. I rushed to get my kids in the car and get the ice scraped off. When I got in my car, I realized my rings were gone!
I had 2 very generous people come help me search my yard and after no luck and a full days worth of tears, I had almost given up all hope!
That is when I stumbled upon theringfinders.com and found Jon B!
I poured through 2 pages of blogged testimonies and decided to call!
I’m so glad I did! Thank you so much Jon from the bottom of my almost broken heart! The 2 hugs that I gave you weren’t nearly enough!
Sincerely,
Andrew & Anell Pike of Westerville, Ohio

Tim called me on a Saturday morning as I was heading to the health club. I traded the gym bag for my detector bag and was on site in 20 minutes. He had lost his wedding band in the back yard 2 days before while playing with his daughter. He had put the ring in his pocket with his cell phone. He took out his cell twice in different areas of the yard. The areas where he removed his phone from his pocket were the first searched. After finishing the second area, I started a whole yard grid search. I had a not-so-great hit so I marked my grid line and searched the hit. Nothing there. As I turned back to pick up my marker, the ring was on top of the grass a foot from the marker. As I was on my knees, being that close to the grass made the ring a lot easier to spot.

Thanks Tim for the generous reward. This will help keep our services available.

The next day he returned with a friend and a metal detector, they had no luck locating the ring. His wife Juliane heard about me from a friend Christine (  https://theringfinders.com/blog/Don.Marshall/page/2/  )  I had recovered her husbands wedding ring 3 years before.

Juliane called me and I went to the park Friday afternoon, no luck. After getting more details I returned Saturday am and recovered the ring.

I so love my job.

Lost Wedding Ring Reunited with Owner after Two Months – Brings Hope

It was a busy day for Big Island Metal Detecting!

Two desperate callers rang within 10 minutes of each other requesting searches for their lost jewelry.

What started out as two recoveries ended with the discovery of a third ring!

Since all searches are time-sensitive, Sylvie searched one beach looking for the lost wedding ring – while Brent searched another beach with his friend for a lost earing.

During his search, Brent found a very large ring under the water with the inscription “Dario Loves Fallon” written on the outside.

ring-1As the ring did not belong to either client, we went to work to track down the owner, a feat we thought would be nearly impossible, especially without a last name to search the World Wide Web!

A Google search turned up only one page that promised a little hope of identifying the owner. A Go Fund Me webpage had the matching names, “…Dario, Fallon’s husband..” The Go Fund Me page was set up to request contributions because Fallon had a life-threatening medical emergency and required immediate surgery. Following the page links and using the new details, it was then possible to then find their Facebook pages – which indeed had photos of them on the Big Island of Hawaii a month earlier!

We were excited and emotional at the prospect of having found the owner – and if this was indeed them, then we knew that such fantastic news would be welcome news due to their current, grave situation. Rings can be so incredibly sentimental and in our experience, it can make such a huge difference to have a ring returned that was thought to be gone forever. We sent a message to them on Facebook and excitedly checked the next morning for a response.dario-palavra

Dario Palavra replied, “I’m so shocked that you guys found my ring. We were just in Hawaii in August!.It is my wedding ring – my wife has a matching ring. I figured it was long gone. I thought I lost it in the deep water since I love to swim. I’m so happy that you guys found it – since we got back from Hawaii we been dealing with a lot of health problems with my wife – I almost lost her – she had less than 10% chance of living and now when you tell me you found our wedding ring, that is amazing. Once I get it back it is going to be glued to my finger!!!”

We express mailed the ring to Dario, and soon afterwards got a photo of him wearing the ring he thought he would never see again!

  • from Brampton (Ontario, Canada)

I was speaking with a fellow Belfountain Heritage Society member Steve G about my metal detecting hobby. He proceeded to tell me that 2 years prior he was gardening and somehow his 14k platinum wedding band slipped off into the dirt. This wedding band was very special to him as it was matching wedding band to his Wife’s. I immediately offered to drop by with my detector to help in locating it. Date and time was set.

Lovely early summers morning….set up my gear and within 2 minutes BEEP BEEP…the detector went off! Took out my pinpointed and there it was. AMAZING feeling for my very 1st ring recovery!

One very happy wife as they were to celebrate their 14th Wedding Anniversary the following week which made this extra special!!

In the James River for over a year

9/24/16 Recovered: Engagement and Wedding rings set, lost last year in the James River.

Equipment & river access.

In August, I got an email from Lindsay after she saw my listing in the Ring Finder’s directory. She lost the rings last year when a friend accidentally pulled them off her fingers. She had another detectorist do a search that summer, but he could not complete the recovery.

The access to the river is on private property. With all the variables of work, family, and the schedules of the owners, it was difficult to schedule a day. We finally got to the river on a beautiful Saturday morning. My wife who is a certified divemaster, acted as my safety diver. Lindsay’s husband Brett, met us in a nearby town and we followed him to the property. A pleasant gentleman who is one of the landowners met us at the river.

Brett paddled out from the small dock to where he thought the rings dropped. He gave me every detail he could remember and placed me within 15 feet of where I found the rings. Brett’s memory and ability to find the location was invaluable. Lindsay was tenacious and never gave up hope. I am so glad I could help them recover the rings.

I have been metal detecting above and below the water for many years. This is my first recovery through Ring Finders. Thank you to Chris Turner for creating the directory and getting us together!

Blessed by the Pope, Lost, Found and Returned Ring goes on, Harwichport, MA

  • from Cape Cod (Massachusetts, United States)

One ring that could never be replaced slipped from Christopher’s finger just less a few days of of 3 months of being placed there. The ring had quite a history. It had traveled to Ireland and Italy on a honeymoon, had a personal blessing by Pope Franciscus, and lost just yards away from where it origin had started. Chris had the presence of mind to take note of the location the ring slipped from his finger and then his wife contacted me via TheRingFinders.

I arrived and was told the ring was gold with a silver band of Celtic knots and it would be found 15-20 feet into the water when I aligned myself so I could see into the drain pipe protruding from the break-wall. Two pull tabs, three bottle caps and then a crazy signal…the detector had a difficult time distinguishing between the two metals. I thought I had trash and was very surprised to see the ring in my scoop. Smiles, hugs, and thank yous ended the emotional trauma of a very special ring’s short history and the beginning of a very long one.

Football leads to ring loss, In-laws to ring find. Orleans, MA

  • from Cape Cod (Massachusetts, United States)

What an experience; the search for this ring will never be forgotten. The usual questions, answers and a Google map photo of the area. The next low tide was 2am and my detecting partner, Jim, and I were up for a hunt in the dark. A beautiful night, bright moon, stars, shooting stars, and heat lightening in the distance. 3 hours later, no ring but a mind full of fantastic sights. I returned a 1pm with Mike’s in-laws. They agreed that Mike’s “area” was off. They told me were to go, stop and start detecting to the right, not left as Mike’s map had shown. Two passes parallel to the beach took about 4 minutes with no targets, I turned for the 3rd pass, took 3 steps and there it was, Mike’s ring in my scoop. Back on the sand, cheers from the crowd on the beach and disbelief that the ring had been found and so fast and returned to Mike’s father-in-law (shown in photo).
UPDATE Mike, his ring and wife.

Jasmine and her fiancé, Graham, were guests at a family wedding at the New York Yacht Club on Saturday.  While socializing with other guests on the lawn, Jasmine waved her hand and her diamond engagement ring flew off.  Jasmine, Graham, and other guests searched the lawn with flashlights but couldn’t locate the ring.  On Sunday morning, Graham found The Ring Finders website and called me for help.  I drove to the yacht club and searched the lawn area for a few hours before Jasmine and Graham had to leave.  They were discouraged, but I told them I wouldn’t give up the search.  Over an hour later, I located the ring deep in the grass and called them with the good news.  We made arrangements to meet them in Massachusetts, and Jasmine was thrilled to have the ring back on her finger!
