Lost Gold Wedding Band at Waikiki Beach…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find started Weds 13 April while I was in San Diego for a business meeting. I got a text from Adam of Vancouver, Washington. While in two feet of water at Waikiki Beach his Gold Wedding Band fell off. With a slight South swell and the waves rolling up on the beach his ring disappeared immediately. I phoned Adam and told him I was in San Diego and wouldn’t be home until Friday. This Waikiki Beach area is the most heaviest metal detected bar none. My fear was it would be found in no time with very little chance of return. Adam sent me a photo of the exact spot he was standing in the water when his ring fell off.

When I returned on Friday in the early afternoon I had to run out to Ko Olina and retrieve a Platinum ring that called before Adam. After that successful recovery I jumped in my truck and headed for Waikiki. Still before work lets out I was able to find parking at the Zoo and then headed for Adam’s pictured area of Waikiki. I lined up a little West of the tree next to the Shave Ice sign and started my in and out search. The area was sterile. On about my sixth leg coming in on the Shave Ice sign I got a nice tone in the wave curl. One scoop down nothing. Second scoop I couldn’t believe it a pretty sparkling in the sun Gold “Ben Bridge” Wedding Band. I was in shock after three days no detectorist found this ring. The Ring Finders score #2 for the day. I went back to my truck and called Adam in Vancouver and asked if he knew what brand his ring was. He initially said “No”. Then his wife said I’ll bet its the same as mine and she shouted out “Ben Bridge”. No worries that’s the ring I found. “Unbelievable”, they both said. I’ll get it in the mail to you in the morning. As you can see in the first pic the ring is back with Adam. Aloha to Adam.

Something Different in Metal Detecting by John Volek

Searching for Buried Water Pipes and Valves in Houston, Texas

Contacted by John a homeowner in the Houston area who was wanting help in locating a water tap in the front yard of his residence. John said the tap was installed quite sometime ago and he was now wanting to locate it for a sprinkler installation.

John said he had spent and few hours himself digging in the area her believed the tap had been placed, but he had no luck. John said a neighbor came over with his metal detector to help John locate the tap, but other ground objects presented them with trouble.

John said he later searched the internet and found “The Ring Finders” and placed the call.

Check out the video, I was running the CTX 3030 in Relic mode, and the tap was a strong and clear signal, there was really no mistaking it!

Thanks for watching.

IPhone FOUND and Returned – North Myrtle Beach SC

  • from North Myrtle Beach (South Carolina, United States)

On April 14th, I had received a request from a Wake Forrest student to help find a sentimental item that he had lost on the beach. While I was out there searching I found an iPhone that was buried a few inches in the sand. I didn’t think much about it at the time and put it in my pocket and continued the task at hand.

After I got home I checked the phone and was surprised that it powered up with 5% power left, I stuck my charger on it for the night and the next morning had 100% power – good start to a great day!! I was able to access the phone without having to put a security code in so I checked out the phone contacts and found “Mom”. I had to use my phone to call mom because the found cell phone had been deactivated. After I introduced myself and told her where I was calling from she immediately said “you found the phone”. Come to find out her son, Jake, also attends Wake Forrest and was enjoying a little school vacation in North Myrtle Beach. Mom introduced herself as Laura and after getting her mailing address I got the cell phone wrapped up and in the mail. I texted her yesterday and found out the phone had shown up and all was good.

You can tell by Jake’s smile he’s happy to have it back.

Wedding Ring Lost in Santa Monica Mountains…Found and Happily Returned.

  • from Redondo Beach (California, United States)

P1000108P1000106

A week ago today Jesse emailed me regarding his ring that was lost behind his house in the Santa Monica Mountains. I got back with him to arrange a time to look for it, and we were able to meet the next day. The ring was his grandfather’s wedding ring that he wore during the invasion of Normandy right after getting married. He also visited over 140 countries, so this ring had a wealth of meaningful history for Jesse and his family, and to lose it, was losing a serious piece of his family’s history.

When I got to the area Jesse showed me where the loss occurred. It was covered with a thick layer of leaves, fallen trees, and a shallow creek. I started the search in the general vicinity he thought the ring might be and continued to work my way out. I ended up searching the edges of the creek, up and down the banks, and then into the water with no luck. I moved the search area out further and further, going into the area of fallen trees, when I had a good tone in the headphones, looked down and moved the debris around a bit, and saw the ring. A while later Jesse came over to me with a kind of sullen look on his face, and saying, “No luck huh?, when I lifted my hand to show him his ring. Needless to say he was very excited, as was I. It was a great day.

If you lose your ring or other metal item of value, call as soon as possible. I will work hard to help you find what you thought might never be found again. I search,  Beverly Hills, Hermosa Beach, Huntington Beach, Long Beach, Los Angeles, Malibu, Manhattan Beach, Newport Beach, Rancho Palos Verdes, Redondo Beach, Santa Monica, Seal Beach, Simi Valley, Thousand Oaks, Torrance, Venice Beach, and all parks, yards, gardens, and ponds (to 5 foot depths) in all of Orange County, all of Los Angeles County, and Ventura County.

Ring Recovery in Water at the Fairmont Orchid Hotel, Mauna Lani, Big Island Hawaii

findringhawaii-01-fairmont

Happy vacationers on the Big Island of Hawaii celebrate their found wedding rings at the Fairmont Orchid Hotel with Brent and Sylvie Madison.

HAPPY WIFE – HAPPY LIFE:
Wedding Band Recoveries in the Water at the Fairmont Orchid Hotel, Mauna Lani, Big Island Hawaii

Logan and Samantha had been swimming in the lagoon at midnight after a work conference at The Fairmont Orchid Hawaii on the Big Island, Hawaii. They, along with friends and colleagues, had been having fun in the water after a work wrap-up party.

Sam realized her wedding band had slipped off her finger into the dark water. But she quickly realized she’d lost not just one but two rings! Her engagement ring must have come off first – but she had no idea where that had been lost – in the water, on the shore – where?!? Her wedding band now also seemed lost in the dark forever.

We got “the call” the next morning and arrived at the small bay an hour before noon to search for the lost rings. Sam looked distraught and Logan looked really unhappy at the situation of his unhappy wife!
We started looking right away, with Sylvie searching the shallows with her Garrett Sea Hunter and me going a little deeper in the water with my Minelab Excalibur II.

The Fairmont Hotel has little water movement so our biggest concern to recovering the ring was that fact that it was so late in the afternoon already – maybe the beach had been searched earlier that morning and the rings had been found by treasure hunters!

After an hour of carefully detecting back-and-forth I suddenly hit a strong signal. There had been no other solid signals until then, deepening our fears that the area had already been detected. I scooped the signal in the water – nothing – then scooped again. A diamond-encrusted wedding band was in the scoop! Logan ran over and while happy for the find, was now concerned to find the second, more valuable engagement ring. We continued to search – going over and over the area we thought it was in.

Sylvie expanded the search area and signaled that she’d found something under the sand. Her detector does not discriminate between metal objects like mine does, so she dug in the sand (under about 2 feet of water with her long-handled scoop), not sure if she’d be pulling out a bottle cap or a ring.

Sylvie looked into the basket of her scoop and grabbed something and held it high for Logan and Sam to see who were down the beach. The entire beach – even the beach bar – all started clapping! Sylvie held a large, gleaming two-carat engagement ring in her fingers. The beachgoers must have been watching the long hunt and the applause was great, but seeing Sam reunited with her treasures – and Logan’s praise and relief were worth a million!

Sylvie always says that we’re in the Business of Saving Marriages This time it really was our own ‘married teamwork’ that saved the day with one ring-recovery each!

Lost ring in Hollis NH while spring cleaning yard

  • from Bremerton (Washington, United States)

I had a message left on my phone Sunday by Brian who lives in Hollis New Hampshire. Brian had been cleaning up sticks and leaves in his yard the day before when he noticed his wedding ring missing. As soon as I got off work I headed to Hollis NH. Turns out it was his dads ring originally, so you can imagine the personal value. Brian stated he had gloves on most the day and tried to recall all the times he took them off or worked without them. He had also borrowed an old White’s metal detector and searched for hours. I went over all the areas he and his wife pointed out to me. I guess I spent an hour or so before starting to get discouraged. It was a big yard, so if I was going to have to search the entire area I was going to have to come back. His wife and I started a conversation while I searched all the areas earlier discussed, but this time I broadened my search area by a couple feet. There were multiple debris piles and one large one they had apparently been using for years. I walked out in the center of the pile and got a pull tab signal, checked it and it was a pull tab. I got another pull tab signal and made the comment, ” it’s another pull tab but we have to check them all right? Well it wasn’t a pull tab it was the ring. I hope I never get used to the wide eyes and big smiles.

Lost Wedding Ring .. Crystal Cove State Park, Newport Beach, CA. .. Found

  • from Newport Beach (California, United States)

Thursday, Devon and his family had gone for dinner at the Castaways Restaurant on the beach at Crystal Cove State Beach just north of Laguna Beach, CA.
After their meal, they spent sometime on the beach. Devon had been throwing a football to his six year old son. After sunset they walked a few blocks to where they had parked the car. That’s when he discovered he had lost his wedding ring. He wasn’t quite sure when or where, but he assumed it happened while throwing the football.
They went back trying to search with their fingers in the sand.. Returning home frustrated, Devon went on line searching metal detectors for rent or for sale. That’s when he found TheRingfinders.com and contacted me. We met the next morning and he showed me the location. It was a 30 ft. Square area where he had stood in the center throwing in all directions. I decided to just start in the center and grid in a spiral. After a half hour it was not looking good. I was running out of search area. Devon stood back about 50 feet not to distract me, but I could see that he was loosing hope. Then the right sound and target ID number from my detector. One quick scoop and there was Devon’s ring. I held in the air and Devon’s face lit up with joy. Right away he called his wife to report the good news.
These searches, where the person doesn’t remember feeling the ring slip off their finger can go either way. It’s almost always a surprise when we find them.

How to Find A Lost Ring at Jericho Beach, Vancouver.

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

I had a call the other day for a ring search at Jericho Beach, a young couple from Germany told me that they were enjoying the sunny day and playing some volleyball and the young lady who’d only been married for 4 months lost her platinum diamond ring.

I meet with them and we talked about the search and I knew it would be a quick recovery due to the fact that she knew where the ring came off. Also her and her husband went to Home Depot and bought a rake and raked the area for over 2 hours in hopes that they could find the ring.

I could tell they were very sad and most likely thought I’d have no chance in finding it…Good news was it only took a couple of minutes to see their smiles!

Lost Wedding Band in North Vancouver…Found!

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

I got a call from a young man who told me that he lost his gold ring and found me on TheRingFinders Directory. He went on to explain that he was power washing his front driveway & his back concrete patio. I met him that day and we walked the area and after asking him how he held the sprayer my first concern was that if you hold it with two hands how will your ring come off? In my mind it wasn’t lost where he thought it might be but I still searched a bit in the back for 5 minutes then we talked a bit more and I asked him if he was dirty after the clean up and he replied yes!

My next question was where did you was up? He said in the basement sink…I asked him to check the sink just in case it came of there as he told me he lost 14 lbs and his ring was fitting lose. less then 20 seconds and he came out smiling and holding up his ring!

Some times we have to ask a lot of questions and try to narrow down the search area. I could have spent hours searching the area he was power spraying but my instincts told me to check the obvious area first. This saved me loads of time!

Even though I didn’t locate this with my detector it was the questions asked that lead us to the ring and the smile!
