I received a call from Carolyn telling me she had lost her phone in the sand at the beach. It was already dark, and searching for it was tough for her. She was there with some friends, and in their visit she became detached from the phone unknowingly, so she wasn’t exactly sure where it was lost but had a general idea. I let her know I would be coming soon to help her.

When I got there we found each other quickly. We discussed what happened, and also where the loss probably occurred. I turned on my machine, swung a couple of times, got a good signal, and within 30 seconds, I was able to hand Carolyn back her phone. She was very happy, and her friends celebrated with her.

Grace contacted me after having lost her phone the night before in the sand at the beach. My hopes weren’t high because I know the beach is machine cleaned often, but she said it was still showing it was there on her app. We arranged to meet for the search, and I was on my way.

When I got there Grace met me, and took me out to the area where she had been the night before, and where the phone was signaling from. I turned my machine on, and it took all of 30 seconds to find her phone under about 3 inches of sand. She was happy to have it back, and this made her vacation from Indiana complete; so glad to help.

I was contacted by Cody and Rebecca after Cody’s wedding ring was lost at the beach. He had taken it of to secure it in their bag when he went into the water. What happened was the bag was moved before the ring was retrieved, and when Cody went to put it back on it was gone, supposedly in the sand somewhere. I had just finished another search, and was immediately available, letting them know I would be there in a short amount of time.

When I got there I met Cody and Rebecca down on the sand where they had been sitting. They told me that they had left earlier, but were able to secure the same spot when they returned. They also said that they had searched with friends for a considerable amount of time to no avail. I began my search, but before I did I placed a nickle on the sand and went over it with my detector; no signal. The amount of iron in the sand was canceling out anything else, so I had to make adjustments in my detector in order to be able to use it in this environment. I then began to search, and within 10 minutes I had Cody’s ring. He and Rebecca were thrilled to see it again, and congratulated me on the recovery. It also always makes my day to be able to hand what once was thought lost forever back to the rightful owner.

Gold Charm Necklace Lost in Grass at Park in Hermosa Beach…Found and Joyfully Returned.

Tasha contacted me about 8:00 in the evening telling me about a necklace she lost while coaching soccer in her local park. It had come off sometime during the session, but she did not know where. I asked her to send a picture of the park with the area she had been in, so I would know how to proceed, because she was not going to be able to meet me there. It seems she had been over most of the field, so I knew there would be a lot of turf to search. I also said that I would do the search that night in order to not let too much time go by.

When I got to the park, and saw the size I knew this would be a time consuming search. As I walked out to the search area, I could see that half of the field was being watered, so I began on the other side. It turned out to be a slow grueling process because of the loads of metal trash in the grass from years and years of soccer games with lots of tin foil and aluminum. I just kept to my plan and slowly made a tight grid in the dark, so as to not miss anything. The trash metal in the grass slowed me down considerably, so much so, that I later looked at my watch, and noticed it was now 11:30 PM, and I had only completed half of the field. I sent Tasha a text letting her know I would have to leave for the night, but would return to complete the search.

I got back the next day just after the sun had gone down because it had been scorching hot that day, and I did not think I would last very long out in the heat. I sent her a text to let her know I was there to complete the search. I began where I had left off the day before continuing my tight grid pass after pass having to stop every couple of feet to check the signal just like the day before. I searched for another 2 hours, and then got another good signal to search, put the pin pointer in, and there it was; I was excited! I took the picture that is on this page, and sent it to Tasha, and she replied with intense joy and disbelief. I don’t think she thought she would ever see it again. Well she let me know her husband Jim was coming to get it for her, and when he arrived he told me what it meant to her. Those charms represented each of their children, and she kept them close to her all the time. This was surely a feel good recovery!

Emilia contacted me after losing her diamond engagement ring in the sand at the beach. She had taken it off, and put it in her glasses case to secure it while she rented a stand up paddle board to enjoy the day on the water. Sometime either before she went paddling, or when she got back the ring had come out of the case, getting lost in the sand. I let her know I could come immediately to search for her, so I was on my way right after.

When I got to the beach she was still at the rental tent, and she told me the circumstances of the loss. She then outlined the area she believed the loss could have occurred, so I got ready for the search. We moved anything metal out of the search area so as not to interfere with the detector, and I began. I think I swung no more than 4 times when I got a real nice low tone in the head phones, I dug, and a very beautiful ring was in the scoop. I held it up, and a very happy Emilia came over to make the identification. So happy to make people happy!

It was just after 11:00 PM when Carlos contacted me. He had been at the beach earlier in the day. His wife had taken off her ring for safekeeping, but when they gathered their belongings, the ring was forgotten, and lost in the sand. It was too late when they realized what happened; it was gone. He said that he could meet me the next day for a search, but I encouraged a search that night knowing the tenacity of the beach cleaners in that area. He agreed, but told be he was not going to able to meet me there for the search. He sent me all of the necessary information I needed in order to conduct a good search for him, and I was on my way.

When I got to the area I knew there was not going to be the ability to park close at that time of the night, so I had to walk about 1 1/2 miles in the dark of night to the search area, getting there about 12:00 AM. I sent Carlos a text to let him know I arrived, and then began my search. I worked in the area he gave, working a tight grid to insure every inch of sand was covered, and didn’t find much. I kept to my grid, continuing pass after pass with nothing. About 20 minutes in total darkness (I don’t use lights unless absolutely necessary), I got the good signal, dug, and shook the sand out of the scoop. There in the bottom was a very small gold ring. It looked like what he had described, but it was pretty small, so I sent a picture, and Carlos affirmed it was the one. It was about 12:30 AM, and I had a long walk back to the car. I let him know that I would contact him the next day for a return. We got together the next day, and he told me about the sentimentality of the ring, and I understood how it meant so much to them. A little adventure lead to a bunch of happiness.

Torrie contacted me at 11:00 AM about a ring she lost the day before at the beach. Seeing it was a weekend I knew if there was to be any hope, the search had to happen now. The beach is cleaned daily by machine, so I had to go right away to do the search. She was not able to meet me there, but was able to give me enough information to be sure I was searching the correct area, and I was on my way.

I got to the area, and was relieved to see that no one had set their belongings in the area, so I would be free to search. I did notice though that the machines had covered part of the search area, so I was hoping they did not go into the area of the loss. I began furthest from the groomed area working my way in that direction. Pass after pass, finding tin foil, bottle caps, and other miscellaneous metal trash, but no ring. I worked all of the way to the part that had been machine cleaned with no luck, and then began to search the cleaned beach. 3 or 4 passes in I get a solid signal, put the scoop in, and there was a beautiful diamond ring in the bottom. They missed! I contacted Torrie to tell her it had been found, and we arranged to meet the next day for the return. When we met, she was very happy to have her ring back, and I was happy to have been a part of the return.

Kevin contacted me about 12:00 midnight after having lost his wedding ring earlier in the day. When he told me where he lost it, I told him it would be best to go right away, because this area is detected like clockwork by other treasure hunters. He agreed, and we both rushed to the area.

We were there by about 12:30 AM. He got there just before me, and sent a text telling me that another detector was searching the area, and he would try to keep him from the spot. As I walked down I saw the other guy moving into the area where Kevin was standing, so I went right over. I let the other guy know why I was there, and he didn’t seem too happy as he kept searching the same area. We got to where we actually bumped coils a couple of times, but I kept to my search plan after Kevin showed me where to look. A couple more swings of the coil, a dip of the scoop, and I had Kevin’s ring which I promptly handed back to him, and then we both left the spot to the other guy. I know Kevin appreciated the fact that I was not afraid to stand my ground when it came to helping him, and I was glad to do it. He told me he had searched so hard earlier crawling on his hands and knees, that his knees had become raw, and was so surprised at how quickly the recovery was made. We made it by the skin of our teeth with just minutes to spare, and I was so happy to have made Kevin’s day.

I received a call from Sofia who had lost her ring at the beach the night before. We discussed the loss, and after finding out where it occurred my hope was increased thinking we would be able to make a recovery, so I let her know that I would leave right away in order to conduct a search as soon as possible.

We met up at the beach and I walked out with Sofia and her friend Andrew. When we got to the area, Andrew showed me the general vicinity, and Sofia replayed what she was doing to cause the loss. She even told me that she had watched the ring come off of her finger, but was not able to find it. I gathered my equipment, and began my search. After about 8 feet I got my first strong signal, dug, and had Sofia’s Ring in the scoop. I held it up, and Andrew exclaimed, “It only took two minutes”. They were both amazed, because they had searched so diligently the night before. Sofia then told me that her grandmother had given her the ring, so it meant a lot to her. It sure is nice to be able to reunite people to their heirlooms.

Sony called because she had lost her ring at the beach. It was late in the evening, and she said she would not be able to meet me, but her friend would. She told me where the loss occurred, and I made my way there.

When I got to the beach Sony’s friend met me to show me where to look. The area was small.  It took about 3 minutes to find her ring, and hand it to her friend. It was a short and sweet search, that ended well. I am happy to be able to help those in need.
