Lost Phone on Pine Knoll Shores Found on Beach

Carol’s Iphone recovered 2 days after loss

Late Thursday evening I received a call from Joe.  He stated his wife had found my number online (www.TheRingFinders.com).  He explained she had lost her cell phone on the beach the day before (Wednesday).  We agreed to meet to begin the search Friday morning.  After a few passes in the high tide zone,  my detector gave a solid signal.  My pin-pointer indicated the target was near the surface and I began to remove the sand with my hand to protect the phone from any damage.   Her phone was 5 inches below the surface.  After spending a few more minutes on the beach, I headed back and saw Carol once more talking to a neighbor.  She informed me that the phone was taking a charge.  Hopefully it will be fully functional very soon!

Lost Platinum Wedding Ring at Ala Moana Beach Park…FOUND!!!

This ring find began when I got a call from Paul who lost his Platinum Wedding ring while paddling out to surf on a South swell Tuesday morning. As he was approaching the reef his next stroke he noticed his ring fall into the water and slowly fade from view. He had taken this route out to surf many times so he knew exactly where the ring had fallen off. It was a low tide and the water was slightly murky but he had a good idea of the location so he got some goggles and attempted to free dive for his ring. It was 3-8 feet in the area but the ring was no where in sight. I told Paul who is a local resident we could meet in the AM and I would scuba for his ring. That morning the water was calm but the sky was overcast. I would have preferred some sunlight but you got to work with what you got. Paul and I surface swam out to the spot and Paul described to me again the details of the ring loss. I decided to start shallow and work deep although Paul was thinking the ring would be on the deep end. I fired up the Excalibur then released the air from my BC and submerged for the search. There were several coral chunks in the shallow area so I had to work around them when after only 20 seconds in the water “BOOM” a tremendous tone came over the Excal as I was passing the loop over a chunk of coral. It was about 2 feet by 1 foot in size and had several holes from the urchins throughout. There was just enough light to see down into one of those holes and there was Paul’s Platinum Wedding ring all nice and cozy perfectly fitting into the circumference of the hole. I reached inside with my finger and was able to retrieve the ring thankfully the two nubs inside the ring helped. I stood up to show Paul who was sitting on the reef no more then 15 feet away. “Here’s your ring.” Paul looked at me astonished and said, “No way really?” I handed him the ring and he was seriously relieved. Paul was kind enough to help me rinse off all my gear and get it back to my car. Paul had a big smile on his face as I saw him depart. Aloha to Paul!

Lost rings found in Franklin MA

On Mother’s Day, I received a call from Brigid, an upset mother who had lost both her diamond and wedding rings.  They were lost a day earlier while she was doing yard work.  The next day I went to Brigid’s home to search for both rings.  She described how she had been clearing brush and weeds, and lost the rings while piling up the refuse.  After an hour of searching the yard, I located her wedding ring.  It took an additional hour and a half to locate the diamond ring.  Brigid described the recovery as “amazing”.

Lost Gold Wedding Ring Possibly in Sand at Santa Monica Beach .. Found

Dan and his wife Caroline had taken their two year old son, Preston to Santa Monica Beach late in the afternoon. When he returned home he discovered his gold wedding band was not on his finger. It had been a little loose lately so he believed that possibly his son may have pulled it off his finger. It had been 4 days sense the loss. Not knowing where to start searching, he went to a community forum on the internet with his frustration.

Someone on the forum recommended he go to TheRingFinders.com. Dan emailed me asking how the service works. I replied with a short explanation. I asked that he call so I can get a few clues. I also offered to begin the search without him, so he didn’t have to take time off work.
Monday morning, I talked to Dan on the phone and he said he could meet me at 3:30pm. He gave me good directions as to where he had been that Thursday afternoon, so I told him I would start grid searching a few hours early, just to eliminate some of a fairly large area.
After the first hour and a half I found a gold wedding band with an inscription inside. Directly in the path he walked to the beach front. After sending a photo and the inscription inside the ring by text and email, I didn’t get a reply.

I discontinued my grid search and started detecting away from the main location. Dan arrived at 3:30pm and we found out that the ring I found was not his. No problem because this has happened to me before. All I had to do was verify where he had been Thursday. Then resume my original grid search. Dan was disappointed and had told me that he had given up hope because there were so many unknowns. Also I don’t think he believed that a metal detector could find such a small item in a sea of dry sand, if it was there.

I tried to tell him that I could at least finish searching as it would only take me a couple more hours. I would call him when I finished. He was on his way back to his car when the magic happened. I found his wedding band. When I showed him where I found it, he remembered brushing the sand off Preston with his hand before leaving the beach.

Nevertheless we joked about me making Dan a believer that metal detectors can find rings in the sand. He was definitely a happy person after thinking that after 3 years of wearing the ring, it was lost forever.

White Gold & Diamond Engagement Ring – Lost & Found Bournemouth Beach

When Beth & husband Dan from Southampton visited Bournemouth it seemed like a perfect day lay ahead of them enjoying the beach.

Unfortunately the fun stopped when Beth felt her precious ring slip from her finger and disappear into the unforgiving soft sand. When panic sets in people lose their precise whereabouts and after some time desperately looking they succumbed to the fact it was lost.

Upon speaking with a passer by they learned of The Ring Finders & promptly gave me call. I left Home immediately & met them on the beach. The first 5 minutes proved nothing but when the search extended 5m the CTX gave the growl of gold!

They were both very relieved to have the ring back and made a kind donation to the Margret Green Animal Charity.

Lost wedding set at Pacific Beach found

Alyssa called me 5 minutes after my request for help in Coronado. She had lost her wedding ring/engagement combo in the dry sand somewhere in a 20 foot radius around where she was sitting. She was also visiting from out of town (MN) and was leaving the next day. After my successful recovery in Coronado, I headed to Pacific Beach with high hopes. Parking was virtually non-existent down by the beach, so, I parked a good 1/2 mile away and hiked to the site with my gear. She was waiting for me right at the search area and I started a grid search. On the first pass, I found a dime, a piece of trash, and then her rings. A happy Alyssa can now head home happy she doesn’t have to explain to her husband how she lost her rings here in San Diego! Thank you for the reward.

Lost ring in Coronado found

Chris called me to see if I could help find his wife’s ring lost in the dry sand in front of the Hotel Del Coronado. I said I would go home and get my gear and head over. When I arrived and met up with them, I got the story of how it was lost. His wife Kristina (I know, that’s probably illegal in some states to have virtually the same name!) was dusting sand off her hands against her pant legs and the ring went flying. Running their fingers through the sand trying to filter out the lost ring proved fruitless, so, they went into the hotel and asked the Concierge for help with a metal detector. The hotel doesn’t have one, but, they have my contact info on file and called me on their behalf with the follow-up call from Chris. In less than 2 minutes of searching, I handed Kristina her beautiful ring. Their trip back home in AZ will be much happier now. Thank you for the reward.

Lost Gold Wedding Band Vancouver, BC…Found

Yesterday I was on a water hunt that started in February but I had to put it aside for warmer water. Well the temperature was perfect and the water was warm but after 4 1/2 hours in the stinky the beaver pond  I sadly had no success. I put in a total of 7 1/2 hours in a relatively small area but with some difficulties. The only thing I could guess was that the ring didn’t go in the water where he thought it did…? It happens, I don’t always have success but with that said I received a call while I was wrapping up the search from a young man that needed help finding his lost wedding band at a playground.

I headed out to the park and got there before him, I started my search and within 15 minutes I found his ring!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

He was extremely lucky that no one found it before us, he had lost it the day before and the following day was a hot one and lots of people at the playground even when I got there around 8pm.

The ring was found in front of the slide and visible to the eye, the good thing was that the wood chips helped camouflage the gold ring.

Lost Palladium Wedding Ring in Sand at Hermosa Beach, CA. ..Found

Pedro had been at Hermosa Beach, CA. with a group of his Marine friends. They had met up to have a little reunion along with playing volleyball in the sand. It was a great get together, except when Pedro returned  home that evening his Palladium wedding band was missing. He had lost some weight and it was loose so he assumed it had come off while playing volleyball. 

The ring was purchased eight years ago in Brazil and had become part of him with irreplaceable sentimental value. He returned that evening spending several hours crawling on his hands and knees searching for the ring. The next morning he found TheRingFinders on line calling me to set up a time to meet on the beach that morning.

It was now Saturday morning and he had asked the people using the volleyball court if we could have a few minutes to search for the missing ring. After completing the   grid search of the court I went to the outside the edges of boundary lines. I was getting coins and other metal targets so I knew this area probably had not been searched by other detectorist. By now I was beginning to run out of search area and it was not looking good. Then the magic happened, a nice solid tone with a quick dig with my sand scoop, there was Pedro’s palladium wedding ring. He was overjoyed and the people that gave us time to search the court also celebrated the find.

Lost engagement ring, Daytona Beach, Florida….Found and Returned!

I received a frantic call from a dear young lady named Ellie and by the tone and stress in her voice it was apparent she was upset and flustered. For the life of me I could not understand what she was saying and she soon hung up. One minute later, Will called me and explained the situation. Will’s girlfriend’s sister, Kelly had lost her engagement ring in the sand at Daytona Beach and they had spent allot of time searching for the ring with no success. So I dropped what I was doing and told Will I would be there within the hour.
When I arrived at the beach I was greeted by four young adults with anxious looks on their faces. They showed me where Kelly had walked from the beach heading towards an aluminum stairway and apparently while she was approaching the stairway she was brushing the sand from her hands and from around her diamond engagement ring. When all of a sudden her ring slipped off her finger and dropped into the soft sand at the base of the stairway. They also explained that they had asked an elderly gentleman who was metal detecting on the beach, if he could please help them locate the lost ring, but he was unable to find it. So my first thought was to start by the aluminum stairway and work my way out onto the sand. My first pass along the stairway I got a “99” reading at three spots where the stair beams went down into the sand and just inches away I got a solid “44” reading on my Garrett AT Max metal detector. The first signal, the first scoop and there was Kelly’s lost diamond engagement ring! They had given up all hope and now they could hardly believe their eyes! I thanked God for another very happy search ending and for allowing Kelly’s ring story to continue!
