Apple Watch recovery in Glen Ross Ontario, while Scuva diving.

Received a call about a person having lost their Apple Watch while diving off an old train bridge into a local canal/waterway near Glen Ross, Ontario. With the help of Diving partner, we were able to return the watch to the owner. Very lucky as conditions were very difficult with tons of weeds and silt. Yet another happy customer.

Lost Diamond rings found in Coe Hill

Got a phone call to go look for a couple rings that a lady had lost a couple days ago while swimming at a camp ground near Bancroft. After 4 1/2 hours of swinging the coil, and drinking tons of water to beat off the heat, I found them both about 3 feet appart in knee deep water. One happy lady and now, they can relax and enjoy the rest of their family vacation 🙂. Big thanks goes to Steve Zazulyk for putting me onto this call. You know anyone who has lost jewelry, on land or in water (down to 100 feet, Scuba), send me a PM. I cover anywhere between Kingston, Bancroft and Cobourg (including Prince Edward County). Life is good 😊

I received a call from David who was calling for a friend that had lost his ring in the sand at the beach. David remembered me from 3 years prior when he called me for another friend who had lost his ring, which I found. This time his friend Brian had put his wedding ring in his hat when he went into the water, but forgot when his belongings were moved so the two of them could practice their Wifflle Ball skills. I let them know I would be able to come right away.

I got to the area, and David found me to wave me over the spot of the loss. He showed me the area, which did not seem to be large, right next to a trash can. I began my search grid, not finding anything. I then began a grid behind the trash can, and right next to it received a good signal. I had to scoop a couple of times because the target was moving, but when I raised the scoop, inside was a nice gold ring. I gave it back to Brian, who was happy he did not have to go home and have to explain to his wife how it was lost.😊 Another great day!

Jake was paddle boarding off of his neighborhood dock when his gold wedding band slipped off. He called me and we set a date to search. My wife, son, and I met Jake and he took us to the dock. As you can see from the photos, it was a beautiful day for a search.

The depth was about 10 feet with visibility from zero to five feet. After discussing the variables with my shore crew, I decided to use a circle search reel of my own design. There were some sunken logs and debris entangled with fishing line and hooks. This complicated the search. After about 45 minutes, I got a signal on my safety line to surface from my dive master. After some more discussions with Jake, she recommended I shift my search area about 40 feet upriver. It’s a good thing since that is where I found the ring!

Lost Wedding Ring Found Dumfries, Virginia

  • from Fairfax (Virginia, United States)

May 16th, 2020.

Nikki and her husband David were enjoying their lovely backyard with the family. While David was playing with one of the children, his ring flew off and bounced off the patio and into the wet grass. After they searched unsuccessfully, they called me. I searched about 45 minutes before finding the ring embedded in the mud under the wet grass. So happy to have met patriots like Nikki & David. A portion of their reward has gone to Fisher House.

****Mark walked up to me while I was detecting on the beach. Usually people want to ask questions like have you found anything good? or what is your best find? Mark asked me if I would have time to search for a ring that was lost about 10 days ago. I told him I’d rather search for a known lost piece of jewelry than wander around beach hoping to find something interesting.

After talking for a minute or so, he pointed across the beach at his beach front vacation rental. Mark said, his future daughter in law was in the sand hitting a volleyball when a hierloom ring went flying off her finger into the sand. They attempted to find it many times during her stay at Newport Beach, CA. Today she was returning to her home in Europe without her cherished ring.

After Mark pointed out the general location where the loss occurred, I began my search scan with my metal detector. Midway through my second grid line I got a high tone in my earphones which turned out to be the silver ring that had been hiding in the sand for 10 days.

Mark immediately called his son to report the find of his fiancé’s ring. From what I was told, this had upset much of her visit here in California. Now, when she arrives back home, she will have the happy news that her ring is safe and will be delivered to her soon.

Sreeraj was jogging near his home when he felt his gold wedding band slip off his finger and saw it fly into the grass next to the path he was on. Sreeraj and his wife spent two hours combing through the grass, but had no luck in recovering the sentimental ring. Sreeraj turned to the internet and located SRARC. He contacted the club’s president, Howard Metts, who put out an announcement to the Ringfinders. Ed Osmar answered the call and arranged for a hunt the next morning. He was joined by Mike Shuler. Sreeraj took Ed and Mike to the spot where the loss occurred, and after just a few swings of the detector, Mike got a strong signal and saw the gold peeking through the grass! The happiness and relief were evident on Sreeraj’s face, and he thanked Ed and Mike several times on the walk back to his residence.

Matthew contacted me regarding the loss of his wife’s ring. They were at a friend’s house for 4th of July, out on the backyard deck that overlooks the city watching fireworks, when she removed her ring and it dropped in the darkness. This was a ring her mother had given her, so it had a strong sentimental value. She heard it hit the deck, and then it was gone. They searched for it in the darkness thinking it may have gone through one of the cracks in the deck because it is a thin ring, or gone over the side into the leaves and brush. We made arrangements to meet later in the day for the search.

I got to the house, and met Matthew and his wife. They showed me what had happened, and where she was standing when the ring dropped. It was close to the side where there was a chain link fence closely positioned to the retaining wall that the deck was built on. I began my search under the deck to eliminate that area as a possibility. I then went into the area between the fence and the wall which was only about 2 feet wide narrowing down to about 8 inches at the bottom which was thick with dead leaves. I could not use my detector, because of the closeness of the chain link fence, nor could I use my standard pin pointer for the same reason. I had to use a special pin pointer in order to get close to the fence without getting false readings. I worked that area moving along slowly, finding pieces of the fence from when it was installed. I searched about 8 feet when one of the signals turned out to be the ring. When I brought it out of the leaves, Matthew who was watching from the deck above could not believe it was found. I handed it to him, and he handed it to his wife. They were both very happy, and it was great to see her smile after getting the ring back.

18k Diamond white gold stud earring lost on walk to Neighbours home! Milton, ON 🇨🇦

  • from Brampton (Ontario, Canada)

A follow Kelly Shires Breast Cancer Foundation 🌸Pink Sista🌸 Jen W of Milton (Campbellville), recommended me to great Friends and neighbours Jennifer and John S!

Jennifer and John had walked down to their neighbours home for a short visit. On the way home Jennifer had felt her diamond earring was loose so she stopped and tightened up the earring back….so she thought.

They walked into their home up into the kitchen and living room to put their feet up to relax. Few minutes later Jennifer felt her ear and found her earring was no longer there. They searched everywhere and back tracked to their neighbours!

Jen W sent me a message to see if it was something I could help with! “Of course I can” on my reply! I proceeded to send a link to my Ring Finders directory information/blog page.

I was on a Ring Finder call out already in Etobicoke and advised when I finished I would be right out!

It was getting dark but that’s a great time to search with the small coil and high powered LED flashlights!! Those diamonds shine bright!

So, tracing Jennifer’s steps… I checked the one small garden, then went up the grassy side of the driveway, and then the roadway side to where her neighbour lives to the location she tightened the earring back! Gridding very slowly with my Equinox800 and small coil while Jen, Jennifer and John had the flashlights out.

With no luck outside, I then proceeded to follow Jennifer’s footsteps inside the home through the garage, staircase, kitchen and living room. NO LUCK either.

We chatted a little more and I suggested that it could be in tires of a passing car or even the garbage truck that had been by that day. I advised that I was more than happy to come back!

I got packed up and left the residence. I decided to put my highbeam lights as there were very little street lights lighting up the roadway. About 60-80 feet past where Jennifer was visiting her neighbour and had fixed the earring back, I spotted something twinkling in the middle of the roadway as I passed over it! I stopped and thought to myself, oh my goodness could that be the earring? I then put my car in reverse, grabbed my iPhone and started videoing. I saw the twinkling and then knew and saw it was the earring!!!

Check out the video;

So excited, I turned around and proceeded back down their driveway in which John came out of the garage. I said “OK, guess what I found laying on the roadway and we are going to go surprise Jennifer! Just tell her I forgot to do the wrap-up video!!”

I WAS EPIC!!! This was my first earring recovery which means a lot to me as earrings and small chains are the hardest things to find!!!

As John and Jennifer knew, I have a “Pay-It-Forward” program that when I find the clients lost item, instead of me receiving a reward I asked the client to pay it forward with an immediate online donation to the Kelly Shires Breast Cancer Foundation which helps patients men and women fighting breast cancer with their financial needs such as wigs, medicine, X-rays, daycare, food or rent! The client then receives a tax receipt for the amount!

I was truly overwhelmed by John and Jennifer’s extremely generous donation and truly honoured to complete this most excellent recovery!! I am smiling from ear to ear still on this happy ending!! 🌸💖🌸
