Cost For My Service
I work on a ''Reward Basis'' you pay what it's worth to you and what you can afford to have me find your lost item. If it’s 30 min drive then the fee will be $60. If it’s an hour drive then it’s $120. If the item is not found, this simply covers my fuel expenses. Anything extra is totally up to you and much appreciated!
Search Types
Beaches, parks, lakes, gardens, woods, fields & yards.(Shallow water searches to 10 feet...I have a Nemo that will help me stay under water until I find it.
Search Locations
Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, Wake Forest, Rocky Mount, Smithfield, Clayton, Gardner and Fayetteville… But I am willing to travel anywhere!! Just text or call me!

Hello! I am a 48-year-old Sargent of the United States Marine Corp in which I proudly served for 8.5 years. I love my hobby, but my favorite part and one that I take great pride in, is helping those in need of finding precious/sentimental metals they’ve lost, be it at the beach, in a yard/park or in shallow water.
Nothing gives me greater joy than being able to recover an item that is deemed priceless or irreplaceable by its owner, and the smile that instantly appears on their face when I hand it back to them!
Do you have a story about something a relative buried or hid years ago? I may be just a guy with a metal detector, but I have an enormous passion for finding and saving history so if you’re looking to find yours, I’d love the opportunity to assist you in your efforts!
So if you have a lost item, please consider giving me a shot at finding it. It doesn’t matter if it’s been missing an hour, a day, a month, a year, or several years, I won’t give up until I either find the item, or prove that it isn’t there.

I cannot thank you enough for finding my ring! Our back yard is 1 acre of pine straw making it with a rock creek and bridge and some intricate decking. I was installing the yard lights I had ordered and after walking all around the yard I went back inside and my ring was gone. We got cheap metal detectors and spent 10 hours one day and 14 the next with no luck. Found this web site and my hopes weren’t high. But 10 seconds later he held out my ring. Unbelievable!! My husband and had looked in that spot about 20 times each. He can literally find a ring in an acre of haystack!! Very nice guy, extremely professional. Cannot say enough!

I was very grateful to Shawn for finding my ring! My husband and I had searched for it for several hours, even using a metal detector. Although I had a fairly good idea of where it would be, there was such dense vegetation there that it made searching difficult. Because my ring had fallen on edge in a hole near a root, I don’t think we would have ever found it on our own. Shawn arrived exactly when he said he would, got to work and found my ring! I contacted Shawn Sherrill on a Sunday night late, he was eager to start right away! We spent hours in the dark water searching through mud, mostly me watching from the boat as he pulled hundreds of pull tabs and things to eliminate signals from the area. He was determined that he would find it and assured me he would not give up. I even went and bought a $600 metal detector and realized quickly how much skill this requires and how many tones you have to learn to know which to dig. It requires skill and I knew it was best I sit back and let him look. I could hardly sleep, I got a text about 7:22 am with a photo of my wedding band! I was the happy dude alive!! I am so grateful for TheRingFinders and that I was able to locate a professional so fast that was eager to help! For them it is about the hunt!
