Lost Platinum Wedding Band at Ala Moana Beach Park…FOUND!!!

This ring find began when I got a call from Charles whose a Wedding Photographer on Oahu. While treading water in about 6 feet of depth Charles’ Platinum Wedding Band slipped off and disappeared in the low visibility and sandy bottom. A few people dove down but were unable to find his ring. Charles used my services last year for the same ring so he gave me a call. I had just returned from church and I told Charles I’d load up my gear and head down to the beach. Since the ring was lost near the drop off to about 12 feet depth this was going to be a scuba hunt. As usual the parking was non existent but when I arrived a car left and Charles guarded the spot for me. Perfect timing again! “Thank you Jesus” Charles & I walked down to the beach and he showed me the area he was treading water. I donned my scuba gear and headed to the area. I decided to start at the top of the slope and work parallel to the shore then work deeper on each pass. On the top of the slope it was relatively good visibility but as I worked down the slope the visibility actually zeroed out in some areas. At about eight feet down the viz was nil so I decided I better go perpendicular to the shore and work up and down the slope so I would have some viz. I was able to get to the bottom of the slope and stay on grid by the line I was drawing in the sand although the viz was like 1-2 feet at best. On about the fourth leg at the bottom of the slope I got that nice low tone growl of Platinum. Now to find the ring in zero viz. I scooped under the Excal coil and on the third grab the target was in my hand. I slowly moved up the slope until I could see my fist. I opened my hand and there was Charles Platinum Wedding Band. I put it on my pinky finger and surfaced. Charles was on the beach and I gave him the thumbs up that I found it. Elapsed time about 20 minutes. I handed the ring to Charles and we agreed we didn’t want to ever see each other again. We burst out laughing! I did tell him their was a young lady that has used our services three times. Lost Car Key Fob at Wll Rodgers State Beach, Pacific Palisades, CA… Found in Sand

I received a call from Toni asking for help finding a car key fob that was buried in the sand at Will Rodgers State Beach, Pacific Palisades, CA. . She was with her friend and he had put the key in a plastic baggie, buried it a few inches in the sand underneath the edge of his beach towel. 

The towel was moved which made it difficult to find the key. Now they were stuck with no spare key. They called me and I was just 5 miles away on another search. When I arrived the tow truck was parked in front of of their car. He agreed to wait while Toni took me to area of the loss. 

I set up my equipment to detect a large item. A few swings with the metal detector the plastic bag with the key fob showed up. It was about 2 ft. outside where they had dug through the sand with their hands. 

All was well, the tow truck driver was compensated and everyone went home happy.

Lost White Gold Engagement Ring with Diamond Found in The Snow in Grand Blanc Michigan

White Gold Vs. Steel…..

…..A month ago, as Kate was leaving work in the snowstorm that hit the Detroit area, her engagement ring came off in the parking lot as she was cleaning snow off the car. Not realizing that it was missing until she got settled at home, she panicked as this was her fiancée’s grandmothers ring passed down to her. Thoughts of venturing back to her workplace had them pushing back thru the snow to the parking area. Upon arrival the snowplow had been there and piles of snow a few feet deep surrounded the lot. At this time Kate’s dad arrived to assist. Doing a visual search of what they could see brought no luck. As they retreated back home Kate noticed a few snowplows and the sparks flying out from under the blades. That sight brought chills upon her, and made her shudder as she wondered what the fate of her ring was and if she’d ever see it again. She reached out to me and that following saturday I met them. We searched with the metal detector and dug thru the snow but encountered thick chunks of solid ice and had to call off the search. Since the lot was patrolled 24/7 we knew wherever the ring was that it was safe. We elected to let the snow melt down and check again at a later date. Today we returned and while Kate and fiancée searched dry ground, I tuned up my MXT metal detector to maximum sensitivity and started to search. Electing to start at the remaining deeper pile of snow I got some junk items, and a few coins came up which made me hopeful. Nearing the last of the pile the metal detector whispered a good signal on the threshold of it’s signal power saying dig here. As I scraped thru the snow about 8 inched deep, I saw the top of Kate’s ring! Clearing the rest of the snow brought the ring out of it’s frozen encasement. I stood in awe as I couldn’t believe that it wasn’t damaged or even scraped, just a bit dirty! I waved to her fiancee to come over quietly as Kate was on the other side of the lot. He had wondered what was up and as I pointed down he was in a total zombie like state and couldn’t believe the ring was well over 30 feet from where it fell off, and that it survived the steel push of the plow. Kate quickly noticed we were not working and came over. We pointed to the ring and watching her reach down to pick it up is a memory I won’t forget…I’m glad her tears did not turn into icicle’s! Looking towards heaven Kate said thank you! We were all thrilled with the outcome of the search, starting with Kate and her fiancee surviving the big snow, and ending with her beautiful white gold ring miraculously winning the battle against the steel!

Small Gold Cross Pendant Lost in Sand at Santa Monica Beach .. Found Using Metal Detector

….  Mark was at Santa Monica Beach with friends when he dropped his gold cross pendant in the sand. It was a keepsake that was given to him when he was 4 years old. Someone told him to google search metal detector services. He called me asking for help.

After a quick discussion on the phone I drove to meet him on the beach. The loss happened in the dark, but he said he would wait for me at the location. His friends had left but Mark was standing by himself in the area of the loss. 

He described the cross as a very small 14k pendant, so I set up my detector for that type material. Even thought there were a lot of trash signals. My high frequency settings on my metal detector was able to give me a signal that turned out to be Mark’s sentimental gold cross. He was very excited as he had given up hope and had not really believed that a metal detector would be able to find such a small item. 

These searches are successful because he was able to contact me soon after the loss and he was able to stay at the location. (Not always possible in other reported losses, we try anyway)

LOST WEDDING RING IN FAYETTEVILLE, NC…………FOUND!!!!

I received a call from an upset young lady saying she had lost her 10/14k rose gold wedding ring in her front yard or across the street from her front yard. It had been missing for 2 days. Her and her husband tried finding it but were unsuccessful. I told her I would head down there right after work and try and find it for her.
I get there and get the details of about where she lost it and go to work….. It took about 10 mins or less and it was found and back on her finger, where it belonged!
Love this hobby and making someone smile again after finding something they lost that’s so priceless.

Cartier Love Bracelet with Diamonds Lost in a Two Mile Outing .. Found and Returned

One of my favorite miracle recoveries …

Susan’s friend contacted me trying to get help to find Susan’s Cartier Gold and Diamond bracelet. Three friends had spent the day in Newport Beach. They had planned to eat out and rent bicycles to checkout the action riding down the beachfront bike/ pedestrian path. They had not planned to be on the beach.

After riding the rental bikes from Balboa Pier to Newport Pier they parked the bikes just before sunset then walked out on the beach at low tide to do some photo shoots. They proceed to walk near the water’s edge 6 blocks to the north where they took photos on the breakwater boulders. That’s when Susan realized her very sentimental and expensive bracelet was missing. 

The bracelet could be anywhere in a two and a half mile area. Much of the possible locations where it could be was the cement bicycle pedestrian beachfront sidewalk. The other was the low tide area of the beach. That could only be searched at low tide that fall in the early AM hours after midnight. There was also a possibility that the bracelet could have dropped into the large breakwater boulders. ( 98% inaccessible).

While waiting for the late night low tide, I searched the small amount of dry sand where the beach sifting machines normally maintain. The first low tide search did not prove to be successful. I knew it would take several attempts at low tide to feel confident that it was searched properly.

The next day after the night search, I remembered what Susan had told me during a phone call.  ( all the clues they gave me were using a celphone as they could not come to the beach ) .. I realized there was an area of dry sand  that I had not scanned. 

I returned to set up a grid search of a 40’x60’ zone of dry sand that doesn’t get sifted by beach maintenance equipment ( AKA The Beach King)…… 20 minutes into my grid search I got a ID of #15 on my Equinox metal detector. That’s usually a bottle cap number. NOT THIS TIME .. ID #15 is also a  open Cartier Love Bracelet. I dug lightly because it was a surface target. I could have easily been reckless with my sand scoop which would have damaged the fragile bracelet and it’s more than 130 diamonds. This is one of the most expensive Cartier love bracelets on their website.

A side note.. This is the newer model of the love bracelet. It has a hinge instead of two gold screws.  When I closed the bracelet it gave me a #20 ID reading on my detector. ( most the time a #20 can be a penny) 

Needless to say, when I called Susan she couldn’t believe the bracelet was found. I did text her a photo of her bracelet first, before calling her with the good news. I had to soften the surprise.

Women’s Lost Gold Ring…FOUND by Ring Finder in Muscle Shoals, Alabama!

On Tuesday (February, 22nd, 2022), I received a text message from Amy stating that she had lost a very important family ring on her farm in Muscle Shoals, AL.  Amy had been filling a tractor with diesel fuel.  She got some of the fuel on her hand and it caused her ring to slide around.  She took her ring off and put it in her pocket.  Amy then used the tractor to move some dirt and debris around from point A to point B and C.  After she finished the yard work, her ring was no longer in her pocket.

Amy mentioned that she had actually lost her ring around the beginning of December.  She thoroughly searched the area she was working and even bought a metal detector, but was unable to find her ring.  After a couple of months had passed, Amy thought that she might never see her ring again, but she then she came across The Ring Finders Metal Detecting Service!  Amy was reading a book that told a story of how a ring was lost during a wedding ceremony.  Someone mentioned that they should call a “Ring Finder”.  This prompted Amy to go on Google and was soon led to The Ring Finders website and discovered that I was listed nearby.  We scheduled a search for Sunday, February 27th, when we were both off from our regular day jobs.

I met Amy at her farm in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, early on Sunday morning.  Amy proceeded to show me where she was working and exactly what she was doing at each location.  I told Amy that she could go inside and warm up while I conducted my grid search of the area.  It had been raining almost nonstop for the past week.  Thankfully, the rain held up long enough for me to conduct a search.

I started my grid search with my Minelab Equinox 800 in front of the shed where Amy had been refueling her tractor.  Just a few minutes in and I received a solid tone in the women’s gold range.  As I moved my coil to the side, my eyes locked onto the gleam of a ring just barely sticking out from the grass.  What a beautiful sight!  I didn’t move the ring, because I wanted to show Amy just how easily rings hide.  Our eyes play tricks on us and it’s almost impossible to find a ring with just eyesight alone.  I snapped a few pictures and went to knock on the door and tell Amy the good news.

Amy couldn’t believe how fast I found the ring!  I took her to the spot and gave her the honor of picking up her gorgeous 10k gold ring from where it’s been hiding these past few months.  Amy was so happy and thankful that she had her ring back!  She gave me a big hug and I could feel the stress melt away.  These returns are really one of the best feelings in the world and one of the most rewarding things I’ve ever done!  I thank God for another successful ring recovery!

After the search, Amy and I were chatting for a while.  She told me that she enjoyed reading my blog posts about my prior recoveries.  Amy then said that she really hoped that her story would turn out the same way…a happy ending.  Well, it sure did!

Lost White Gold Ring Found In East Lansing Michigan

Grace Under Pressure……

…..While in the process of moving, mid-term exams and her vehicle breaking down, Grace’s ring came off after she cleaned snow from her car window and accidentally falling down on some ice. Raising herself up off the ice without injury, she went into the house to wind down, not realizing until later her ring was missing. Searching frantically with her friends the next morning brought no luck. She was fueled with energy to find it as this was her first ring she had ever purchased. Determined to remain courageous and regaining her composure, she came across the ringfinders and decided to schedule an appointment. Earlier today she showed me the general area where she fell, and then went back into the house. Using the turn on and go mode on my MXT metal detector I quickly grid searched the area, and about a foot off the back tire of her vehicle, the MXT gave a good signal beneath the snow. Brushing away the snow revealed her one of a kind ring! Walking back into the house I showed it to her and she flew off the couch with excitement and a huge smile. She was thankful that her sentimental ring was back where it belongs and that even tho she was Grace under pressure, she proved that keeping a positive attitude and remaining determined to succeed in stressful situations has it’s rewards.

Lost Platinum Diamond Stud Earring Found In Bloomfield Hills Michigan

Stooopid Cupid….

…..Often gets it wrong and when he does it’s painful, but when he’s right, it’s pure bliss. Why he was firing at Heather on a snowy Valentine’s day is unknown, but it knocked one of her earring’s off that was a surprise gift from her husband. Now… Heather’s been hit by Cupid before as she is madly in love with her husband, so she wondered was Cupid blindfolded? If so, was he implying love is blind? Hmmm….or was he desiring a new metal for his arrows? How could something like this happen when this special day is supposed to be all about love? Feeling as tho she’d been shot thru the heart with the loss, she reached out to me for help. When she explained what happened I said Well, that’s what happens when you give a baby a bow and arrow. Laughing a bit helped ease her stress. I explained that I brought my own bow and arrow in the form of a powerful metal detector that emits invisible lightning bolts that locates lost metal thousands of times faster than any of Cupid’s arrows can travel. As she rolled her eyes with a smile she pointed out the search area then went in the house to get us some coffee. I started the grid search and within a few minutes under a patch of ice I got a signal on the metal detector’s meter that was a match to her other earring. Cutting around the spot carefully with my pocket knife exposed the diamond part of the earring! I texted her that I would like her to come outside. As I pointed down she saw the earring, blinked a few times in disbelief, putting her hands to her face joyfully exclaimed her excitement that it was found! Holding the earring definitely warmed up her hands and heart, bringing the couple’s love for each other even closer to their hearts. In a final move Heather held the earring to the sky and said Cupid you lose and you are not getting your arrow back….Roses are red, violet’s are blue, finding a ringfinder made my dreams come true!

Lost Gold and Diamonds Heirloom Ring at Marriott Beach Resort Lagoon…FOUND!!!

This Ring Find began Tuesday, Feb 15th when I received a text from Sara who was from Las Vegas Nevada and on vacation staying with her husband at the Marriott Beach Resort. She was laying in about 1-2 feet of water near shore when her Gold & Diamonds Heirloom ring came off and disappeared. They were now home in Vegas so we started texting and exchanging photos of the area to hunt. It was early enough in the day that I grabbed my detecting gear and headed to the resort. Once there I compared pics and called Sara once more to be sure. I started the grid on the right and worked to the left. The waters were turbulent from a monster NW swell but close to shore in this corner of the lagoon it was decent. On about the fourth leg of the grid I got a nice tone on the Nox and in one scoop there was Sara’s gorgeous heirloom ring in the scoop. I immediately went ashore and texted Sara a pic of her ring. She was obviously ecstatic and very grateful I was able to recover her ring. I mailed it the next morning and you can see in the pic it’s safely home on Sara’s finger. Aloha to Sara!
