Recovered lost hearing aid from Alki Beach Seattle, WA

  • from Mercer Island (Washington, United States)

Lisa’s called me asking for assistance in fining her lost hearing aid at Alki Beach that she had just received just a few days prior.  She explained that the wind had picked up a bit so she remembered placing her hoodie over her head and taking the hood off before departing and that is when she realized her left hearing aid was missing. Fortunately her new hearing aid technology came equipped with a feature to track her lost hearing aid from the application on her phone. Most likely this uses a BlueTooth technology and the app shows the signal strength of the Left and Right hearing aids respectively. She was able to confirm that the lost hearing aid was still somewhere at the beach however was not able to see it with a visual search.  I agreed to assist her knowing that this app was confirming the lost hearing aid as still being on the beach so we had a very strong opportunity of a recovery.

She meet me at the beach and we reconfirmed the lost hearing aid was still in the area with her app. It actually showed the signal strength getting stronger as we got closer to the lost device. By using the tacking technology of the application and a handheld pinpointer medal detector we were able to unbury her lost haring aid. As with any other heavy item lost over a dry sandy beach the hearing aid was completely buried under the sand with only a small clear plastic bit sticking up at the surface. If only using the app and a visual search it would be very difficult to locate it. We were both very happy to have recovered this device undamaged.

If your  are in the market for a pair of hearing aids or replacements seriously consider a model that supports a “Find my lost hearing aid” feature though a smart phone app! This technology has a lot of value in recovering these very expensive hearing aid devices.

Watch the recovery of the lost hearing aid from the sands of Alki Beach!

Cheers,

Jeff Morgan

Lost engagement ring found with metal detector

  • from Marietta (Ohio, United States)

I received a call from a good friend in Georgia back in March. He tells me about his wife losing her engagement and wedding ring along a highway. He had a rented metal detector and he said it was going crazy with all the trash along the road. I was able to hear thru the phone what the detector was doing so I was able to help him with his settings to aide in his search. He eventually found the wedding band but not able to locate the engagement ring. That really bothered me cause I knew it couldn’t be far but a 9 hour drive kept me from going. Anyways, here is the story from my friend Jason from Georgia.

“Your ring is still there,” said Steve, trying to reassure me over the phone. I had given up hope. On March 3 my wife lost both her wedding band and engagement ring on the grassy shoulder of a two-lane highway in rural Georgia. I rented a metal detector and contacted my friend Steve in Ohio for advice since I knew he had experience with this sort of thing. Thanks to his guidance, I located the wedding band, but after returning three times to search with my rented equipment, I finally despaired of ever again regaining my wife’s engagement ring.

Then Steve came down to Georgia for some turkey hunting with me. Six weeks had passed since my wife lost her ring, but one afternoon on our way back from the field, he suggested that we go have another look. Even though I had little expectation that we would find the ring, I agreed.

The rough grass along the road’s edge was now twice as tall. We found plenty of buried aluminum cans and other random garbage. I felt like we were wasting time, but Steve was not dissuaded from his task. After searching for about an hour, his equipment gave him the kind of strong reading that he was hoping for. “This could be it,” he said. Something small and round was sparkling in the sunlight as the detector’s coil swept the grass to and fro. We both knew what it was.

I had spent more than twelve hours searching that highway shoulder with speeding automobiles whizzing by just a few feet from my head, without finding that elusive engagement ring. Now Steve, with his experience and advanced equipment, had located the ring in barely an hour.

That evening I surprised my wife with the ring, and her relief and elation was a thrill to behold. Thanks Steve

Diamond Rings Found in the Naples Florida Sand by Metal Detector Mark Greul & why you need to hire a professional metal detector

  • from Marco Island (Florida, United States)

[April 23, 2019 – Naples, Florida] Got a call from Brian’s wife who reported having lost two rings at the beach.  The rings she’s carefully guarded in her pocket were likely lost as she was tending her children and applying more sunscreen.  So, why hire a professional metal detector?  Well, several hours of searching, traffic, and sifting through the sand had only managed to broaden the search area and drive the rings deeper.  The wedding band was the first to be found.  It gave off a faint signal being buried in about 5-6 inches of sand and canted at a 45 decgree angle.  The diamond solitaire proved to be a bit more tricky.  It was found nearby, yielding only an occasional very very faint signal as it was 6-8 inches deep standing nearly straight up.  The rest is now history and another “story” added to a family’s memorable vacation in Naples, Florida.  What was once lost has been found – thank God!

If you’ve lost a ring or sentimental item, don’t hesitate calling.  Literally, TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE!  With years of metal detecting experience, the best and most sophisticated metal detecting equipment, and numerous recoveries and even more finds, the testimonials and results are why you need to hire a professional metal detector.  Call Mark (239)500-RING [7464] or Text (239)770-7873 – metal detector rental services – Naples, Marco Island, Ft. White Gold Diamond Ring Lost in the Sand in Litchfield, SC. Found and Returned

  • from North Myrtle Beach (South Carolina, United States)

Rhonda called me about 8:30 pm saying I had been referred to her by the Minelab Distributor in the area, and was hopeful I could help find one of her lost rings. She said that she had lost 5 rings in the sand after she had taken them off to apply sun tan lotion. She went on to say, that her and her boyfriend had found 4 of the 5 but couldn’t find her diamond ring. She was wondering when I might be available to help look for it. I don’t like waiting to do a ring search because too many things could happen between the time of loss and me getting there to search. So, I told her I’d be there in about 30 minutes, got the address, grabbed my detector and was on the road.

I called her when I got there and she met me in the parking lot. We walked out to the beach and luckily she knew exactly where the area was that the ring was lost. I think it took longer for the detector to turn on and me to get ready then it did to find her ring. She put me dead on the spot, 3 swings and I got the tone, looked at the numbers on the detector and saw the 9/10 and knew I had white gold. I took a small scoop of sand, checked the hole to make sure I had her ring and searched the scoop. I very gently pulled her beautiful diamond ring out of my scoop. She was a little shocked that it turned up so quickly. A great happy ending to their vacation.

Rhonda, thank you so much for trusting me to find your lost treasure. Have a safe trip home.
Jim

Boundary markers located in Zeeland, Michigan

  • from Holland (Michigan, United States)

Got a call today from Dave E., requesting help in finding a couple of boundary markers for his yard.  He just bought this new house in January and now he has plans to add some shrubbery and a privacy screen for his hot tub and really needs to know the exact boundaries of his property.  I called my ringfinder fellow hunter, Gregg Larabel, and he and I drove out to Dave’s house today.  One side of Dave’s property was marked on the road pavement with the estimated boundary.  We measured in 33 feet from the center of the road and found the first marker with really no trouble.  The next step was to find the marker in the very back of his corner lot.  In the picture with Dave you can see the neighbors play area/slide for their kids and Dave’s boundary marker is just to the left of that play area.  We had a little trouble finding that marker, finding a sprinkler head first and then the play area had a steel edging around it.  Finally found the steel rod but the yellow cap was missing on this rod.  The third corner steel boundary marker was sticking out of the ground already, so now he knows the exact area of his corner lot.  After some good stories back and forth we  parted our ways with another good job done.
