Here’s Another long lost precious gold ring found and returned at Oceanside harbor,California.

It’s a short yet sweet story even though I may of spent an hour total with tough parking & searching the dry sand areas where it was lost the day before. I receive many calls but this one also was beyond any scrap value for gold you can imagine.  This precious precious Gold was handed down through his family from his Grandmother!  Some things you can’t put a price tag on or even try estimating a value from losing them….Or if so….

I have found & Returned approximately over 100 million sentimental items since joining The ring finders in 2014.  “Who ya gonna call”. ?  Ring Finders!

Another exciting day in my book of smiles and another long lost ring that will continue its journey with millions of memories that won’t be lost forever.

Lost Platinum ring in back yard

  • from Knoxville (Tennessee, United States)

The other day I was contacted by Preston who lost his platinum wedding ring in his back yard 5 days ago while playing with his kids. When he realized it was gone and he went out and purchased a metal detector but was unable to find it. While searching the internet he came across the ring finders website and texted me for some assistance. I came out the very next day and searched for about two hours before I came across an 8 and 9 signal on the equinox 800. Surprisingly it was about 80% buried in the dirt. Im sure that was because we have had substantial rain fall in the past few weeks. Preston and his wife are incredibly happy I recovered his ring.

LOST GOLD RING IN THE SAND AT SANTA MONICA BEACH FOUND & RETURNED

  • from Santa Monica (California, United States)

I was heading back from metal detecting at a local lake Saturday afternoon when I got a call from Alondra, she told me that she lost her ring at the beach in Santa Monica where playing volleyball. I agreed to go & help her after I went home to pick up my salt water detector & grabbed quick snacks. It was already 6:30 pm when I left my house to drive through downtown LA and arrived at the beach just before 8:00 pm, Alondra walked me over to her beach chair & showed me where she thought her ring disappeared into the sand, I detected gridding in the area several times for over half an hour without luck. It was getting dark and she had to leave to meet friends for dinner. I agreed to stay & search a little longer & told her that I’d call if I had any luck. I only had another half hour or so before they locked the parking lot. I knew the ring was wide so I figured that it must have rolled down the beach towards the water, it was the only place left to search, less than 10 minutes of detecting in the water just above my ankles & heard a loud signal, dug & there was Alondra’s ring . I called her to tell her the good news while I was walking off the beach to the cement boardwalk, she was back in less than 10 minutes and was elated to have her ring back. I was thrilled that by not giving up I was able to help bring joy to a nice young couple.

IPhone ProMax recovered at Spring Lake Beach NJ by Dennis Burlingame

I justed walked in from work when my phone rang. Walter was calling asking for help in locating his IPHONE ProMax. While enjoying the day at Spring Lake Beach, Walter and his wife were sitting at the top of the slope, Walter had his back turned to the ocean checking his cellphone when a rogue wave came out of nowhere and knocked into him causing him to drop his phone. There was a trough behind them and he saw his phone land into the water in the trough. When the water resided they tried to find it, even asking the kids in the area to help dig through the sand with their hand to try and find it but with no luck. I started a grid in the trough and on the 3rd pass I heard a nice high tone and after removing some sand there was Walter’s phone. He was so relieved to have his phone back, and to make sure it still work he called his wife who was only 15 feet away. A great ending to what could of been a bad day. Happy to help.

Ring lost at Pacific Beach Found

  • from La Jolla (California, United States)

Justin and family members were visiting here and spending the day out on the sand at Pacific Beach. While sitting in his beach chair, his gold wedding ring decided to take a sand bath, landing somewhere in a three foot circle around him. Searching the best he could, even using a sifter screen, failed to bring his ring to light. An online search brought him to TheRingFinders.com website and my phone number. A few texts with the pertinent information exchanged, and I was on my way with my wife to help with the awful parking situation normally associated with P.B. As luck would have it, I found parking up close, so, my wife didn’t have to circle, and was able to accompany me to the search area. After meeting Justin, seeing his chair, I had him clear the area for my search. Jokingly, I said that this search might break my record of 10 seconds recovery time seeing as how small the search area was. It was close, but, it might have taken me 12 seconds! A happy Justin can now stay out of the dog house with his wife. A pleasure to meet you and thank you for the reward.

*** Jesse and his wife spent the day at Belmont Shores, Long Beach, CA. They were watching a volleyball tournament when his wife removed her wedding ring because it was a little uncomfortable. Before she could put in a safe place, she dropped it in the soft dry sand. A long search was unsuccessful.

Two days later he found me on a google search. When he talked to me I was driving home from the west side of Los Angeles. My detectors were in the car so I was available to meet Jesse at the volleyball courts soon after discussing the location and how the loss occurred.

We both pulled up in the parking area and the volleyball court was only 50ft from where he parked. Even though it had been a couple days since the ring was dropped it showed up in my scoop after a few swings of the metal detector. It’s always easier to find a lost metal item if the person can put me in the general area. It’s not always possible for people to meet me at the location but with the help of photos, gps pin markers, google earth screen shots, and other landmarks we can conduct searches.

It’s always special to see the surprised look on a person’s face when they see a sentimental ring or piece of jewelry come out of the sand when they had spent so much time looking for it..

Lost Gold & Diamond Heirloom Engagement Ring at Shorebird Beach Waikiki…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began when I got a text from Jeremy who was on vacation with his lovely wife Cate and hail from Maryland.  His text said, ” My wife Cate lost her engagement ring on Thursday as we were collecting our things after a surfing lesson at Gone Surfing in Waikiki.  We are pretty sure it is in front of their stand where everyone checks in.  Any chance you are available to help us find it?  It is tiny, but a 100+ year old family heirloom and very important to her. ” My heart sunk knowing so much time has gone by and the area gets pounded by metal detectorists all the time.  I told them the odds were low but Cate wanted to ease her mind that at least we checked.  I arranged to go yesterday afternoon but the area was packed with tourists with too many distractions.  I told them I’d try again that evening when everyone was gone and I had free movement through the area.  That evening when I arrived there was only one lone tourist sitting on the beach so I started my hunt in earnest.  The area wasn’t large but not knowing where Cate & Jeremy had collected their items I decided to expand the search in all directions.  My first pass I found a pull tab that had been there awhile then a $1.01 coin spill.  I was starting to think we might have a blessing coming.  One the second pass a few feet out from the first I got a booming “7” on the Nox and in one scoop there was a sparkling diamond in a tiny ring in the scoop.  I guess this is where the items were gathered.  I texted a picture to Cate & Jeremy and the response was, “THAT”S IT!!!!”  Since they were leaving at 5AM the next morning they decided to pick up the ring at my home which was all the way across the island.  They arrived in record time and you can see the joy on their faces in the pic above.  Aloha to Cate & Jeremy!

Gold Wedding Band Recovered for Owner, Falmouth, Massachusetts

  • from Falmouth (Massachusetts, United States)
Contact:

Just arriving from the west coast to visit her family on Cape Cod, Emily learned that her father had lost his wedding ring at a local pond two days before.  She had previously heard of The Ring Finders so she did a local search, came up with my number, and gave me a call.  Forty-five minutes later I met with Emily and her father John at his home by the pond and we discussed how and where his ring most likely was lost.  He believed that it probably had come off in an area 20′-30′ square while he was playing in the water with youngsters of his extended family.

I went to the edge of the area where John thought the ring might be, made a mark in the sand, and started a shore-parallel search in the shallow edge of the water.  One swing, second swing…  and a whopping signal.  I stuck my scoop in the sand and as I did so the sloshing water exposed a golden crescent.  I bent over, slid John’s ring into the scoop, and carried it up the beach to where he was standing with expectant (or maybe puzzled) family members.  We were all in disbelief that I’d found the ring immediately!  Emily asked if I’d ever made such a quick recovery, and all I could say was ‘Never!’  Sometimes the angels just smile on you!

John, Emily, and family, it was great to meet you and to see the smiles on your faces when we met with success.  Enjoy your summer on ‘golden’ pond!

Swift Recovery: Expert Metal Detection Service Reclaims Lost Engagement Ring at Castaic lake Lower Lagoon

  • from Santa Barbara (California, United States)
Dave MacDonald, The Ring Finder, Recovers Lost Engagement Ring at Castaic Lake
Yesterday, Juan reached out to Dave MacDonald—known as Dave The Ring Finder—about a heartbreaking situation: his fiancée had lost her engagement ring at the lower lagoon swimming area of Castaic Lake. Recognizing the urgency, I scheduled an immediate appointment for today and headed to the lakefront, prepared to tackle the recovery despite the blistering 105-degree heat.
As a proud member of The Ring Finders network (visit ringfinders.com for more stories of lost jewelry recoveries), I specialize in reuniting people with their cherished items. Armed with my trusted Deus 2 metal detector and a passion for helping others, I arrived ready to dive in. Juan’s fiancée shared valuable details about where the ring might have slipped off, guiding my search strategy.
Undeterred by the sweltering conditions, I began methodically sweeping the initial area in the water, using a grid pattern to ensure no spot was missed. When the first pass yielded no targets, I expanded the search further into the lake. After an hour of persistent effort, my detector let out a clear, promising tone—a sign of success. With precision and care, I scooped up the lost engagement ring, securing it safely for its rightful owner.
The moment of reunion was pure joy, a powerful reminder of why I do this work. At davetheringfinder.com, my mission is clear: to provide expert metal detection services that recover what matters most. This successful recovery at Castaic Lake showcases the effectiveness of professional ring-finding skills and the right equipment.
