Lost Gold Wedding Band at Waikiki Beach…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began when I received a voicemail from Pastor Les Araki. While metal detecting on Waikiki Beach a young couple Bruno & Maria on there honeymoon from Uruguay approached him and said Bruno had just lost his ring in waist deep water. Pastor Les was pressed for time but took a quick hunt however he didn’t locate the ring. They borrowed the lifeguards cellphone and called me at home. Since I’m only 10 minutes from Waikiki I told Bruno I would load up my gear and be right down. I met Bruno & his lovely wife Maria on the beach and asked Bruno to join me in the water where he thought the ring fell off. We went about halfway into the protected area and Bruno looked ashore to see if Maria agreed to the location. She gave a nod and I turned on the Excal and started walking parallel to the beach. Five paces later and ten feet from Bruno I got a nice tone and two scoops down out came Bruno’s Gold Wedding Band. He was astonished how quick the recovery occurred. As we walked toward the shore the beach goers in the area started clapping. One gentleman said, “How did you find it so fast?” “Great equipment and a little experience by the operator,” I said. A few hugs and hand shakes and Bruno said, “Thank you for saving my honeymoon.” Aloha to Bruno & Maria.

Property Survey Marker in Hamilton NJ Found by Dave Milsted

  • from South Jersey (New Jersey, United States)
Contact:

I received an email from Mark who asked if I could help him find a missing Property Survey Marker.  It was marked a year or so ago with a little flag but has since been moved by a neighbor.

We set up a time for the upcoming Saturday. The weather was perfect for a hunt. I met Mark and he showed me the area that he was searching in. The grass has been matted down pretty good from all of the foot traffic and hand & knees searches.

I got my CTX 3030 and started the search. I think I swung my machine twice before getting a good hit. Dug down with my trowel and unearthed the marker. The whole search took less than 1 minute. It took longer for the machine to turn on then it did to find the marker. Mark was searching about 6 feet away from where the marker was located.

Found Jewelry Amongst Glendale Fire Ashes

  • from Santa Monica (California, United States)

Mike lost about 60-70% in a fire in Glendale, CA a couple months ago. He got ahold of me through the RingFinders website and chose me due to my fire recovery experience from many previous fires. I pulled up to a large two story house up in the mountains. Once he showed me where his mother’s closet was, where a lot of the jewelry had been stored, it seemed like the majority of the second story and the roof had collapsed onto the first story. So I made a grid of the area, set up sifting screens, and methodically started to shovel material into the screens from one corner of the house to the other. After a short amount of time I began to find glass crystals which were remnants from a large chandelier, and many other artifacts that the family had from previous generations. After a couple hours of digging, I recovered a small, melted box that held many pieces of jewelry including a beautiful large, white gold cross covered with stones. After a little more searching, I made the plan to come back another day during daylight. About three weeks later after the heavy rain had died down, I returned to the site. Hesitant to climb a ladder to the second story, with a rickety burnt out floor and no roof, I started the same process on the second floor for other lost jewelry from a bedroom bureau. Right away I began to find earrings, charms, medallions, and many charred coins. I couldn’t find everything they had lost in the fire, but recovered everything that I could, that I could safely get to. Mike was very happy to call his wife and mother to tell them about the recovered jewelry that they believed was lost forever. They are looking forward to rebuilding their lives in a newly modeled home.

Lost Rolex Gold Ring in La Verne, CA Returned

  • from Santa Monica (California, United States)

A few days ago I received a call from a high school student named Nick. His father passed away just under 6 months ago, and his mom gave him his father’s ring. He was really distraught, Nick called me asking if I could come over after he got out of school. I went to meet him the next day. His friends were throwing a football in the front yard and that’s when the ring got lost. The whole yard was covered in bushes and tall leaves, making it difficult to find the ring.  I used my metal detector to search for a signal, but there was a lot of dirt so I had to rake it up and sift it through my sifting screen. After about an hour I got a weak signal from one of the big leafy bushes near the front and moved the leaves out of the way to get a better visual. There was the ring, sitting there with a big Rolex symbol on it. I was very happy to return the sentimental ring to the young high school boy, who was happy to have a piece of his father with him forever.

Lost 1980 Texas Aggie Ring (found) by Chris Dean TRF, Kerrville, Texas

  • from Kerrville (Texas, United States)

Jeffrey lost his Texas Aggie class ring renovating a 1940’s house. When he searched the web for Metal Detector Kerrville, he was surprised to find the first source was TheRingFinders.com. Jeffrey called me and said he knew he was wearing his ring en-route to the house and felt sure he lost it in the yard while there. On arrival at the house I realized this might be a daunting task as reconstruction was in full swing – building debris, roofing materials, and plenty of workmen everywhere! Jeffrey explained to me what he was doing and the approximate paths he had taken the day the ring slipped off his finger. I was able to search the perimeters of the property but due to the amount workmen around the house I had to return after hours.  Upon return in the evening with my Garrett AT Pro, I was able to detect (along with a lot of roofing nails) Jeffrey’s Gold Ring buried below the surface near where the debris trailer had been. It had certainly been stepped on many times. I called Jeffrey and asked him to describe his ring and then I told him “I found it”. He exclaimed “OMG, I Love You” and then said ” I don’t really love you but I love you!” It’s amazing what people say when you tell them you found their lost ring and even more amazing seeing the smile on their face when you return it, which I was able to the next day.

Lost wedding Ring found at Strouds Run

  • from Marietta (Ohio, United States)

I was contacted by Derrick and we made arrangements to meet on 4/21/17. here is a quick summery of the days events in his words;

About seven months ago I was playing volleyball at a local state park with a few members from church. It was a hot day, and my ring which was a size too big would often slide off my finger. After about an hour or so I noticed my ring was missing. My friend and I looked all over and were unable to locate it. The following day I purchased my own metal detector to try and find my ring, but I had no luck.

I contacted The Ring Finders in hopes of throwing a Hail Mary. Steve did a phenomenal job and was committed to finding my ring. It took him all of four hours to locate it. The ring was in perfect condition. I would highly recommend these guys.

Thanks Steve & The Ring Finders

Wedding Ring Found in Huntington Beach

  • from Sunset Beach (California, United States)

On August 9, 2016 Amy had posted that she had lost her wedding ring three days prior on a Facebook Community Forum I belong too. I immediately reached out to her and told her I could help her find the ring. She told me the diamonds were her Husbands Grandmothers and they had them set into a new custom made ring. We arranged to meet at the beach where she removed the ring to apply sunscreen. Luckily she had a good recollection of the area they were sitting. After about 30 minutes of grid searching I found her sentimental ring. Amy was so thankful, she contacted me the next weekend and invited me out for dinner with her family.

Earth Day ring recovery! Ringfinder vs. woodchipper!

  • from Seattle (Washington, United States)
One diamond still intact!

Recovered with one diamond intact! Happily reunited!

This week I received a call from an arborist from Bainbridge Island. He and his tree maintenance crew were doing some work at a customer’s property, limbing trees, when he noticed he was missing his prized ring.

It was a custom ring made of silver with two diamonds and a large sapphire, designed for him by a friend with the purpose of harnessing the spiritual powers of the gemstones. It is called Vedic Astrology, also known as Jyotish Astrology.

The belief is, that certain stones, worn by the right person, under the correct circumstances, can increase that person’s success in life and business, etc.

Naturally it was a hard loss for him, and he rushed to buy a metal detector and searched for days on the property, to no avail.

When I arrived I saw a huge pile of wood chips that the tree crew had made when disposing of the limbs, and I had a bad feeling that it could have gone through the chipper. After he and the home owner and I spread the piles throughout the property, my suspicion was confirmed by my metal detector.

I found the ring, in 2 pieces! It was missing one diamond and the sapphire, but fortunately there was one diamond still remaining!

Since my detectors can’t find loose gemstones, we sifted the chips for some time, and he and the homeowner will be going through the chips as time allows. Who knows, maybe they will find them someday!

If not, he can rest assured knowing the full magic of his ring wasn’t lost, and the lost gems were reclaimed by the earth that provides him his livelihood.

Today, I’d say it was a draw, in this case of Ringfinder vs. woodchipper… But the arborist was glad to be reunited with it and he may have the mangled silver ring made into a new ring, to hold the diamond that was recovered.

One Diamond remained!

Woodchipped!

One Diamond Remained… One Diamond and one sapphire reclaimed by the Earth!

Huge men’s gold and diamond ring lost in Cottage Grove, MN for four years – Now found!

  • from Saint Paul (Minnesota, United States)

Gene was working in his garden and carrying new plants to it from the garage.  Shortly after he finished with the garden, he noticed that his large gold and diamond ring was not on his finger.  His normal habit was to put the ring in his pocket, but the ring could have somehow fallen off his finger while he was working or it could have been lost in the garden or lost somewhere else soon after Gene finished working in the garden.  Gene wondered about this for four years.

Because he was planning to do some landscape changes, Gene decided to contact The Ring Finders to make sure his ring was not somewhere in his back yard.  I got the call from Gene and we decided do the hunt a couples of days later.

We both figured the most likely spot was the garden, so we started there.  After about 45 minutes of digging small aluminum items and a penny while covering the garden well, we moved on to the grass.  I hunted the grass covering all of the areas where Gene walked that day to and from the garden.  I dug a dime, a penny and some more aluminum items; and when we were both starting to think the ring wasn’t there, I got a strong signal 2 inches down.

I dug a little bit of the grass and dirt away and saw the unmistakable glimmer of gold!  The ring was lying flat and I had barely uncovered it.  I said to Gene ‘Look at this!’, but he wasn’t thinking it was the ring.  So I said ‘I’m not digging it.  You dig it, it’s your ring.’  That started to make Gene a believer and he squatted down to take a peak and dug his ring out of the ground four years after losing it!

Lost Gold Wedding Band at Shark’s Cove North Shore…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began when I got a call from Ash who was on her Honeymoon from Queensland, Australia. While at Shark’s Cove her husband Patrick gave her his gold wedding band to hold while he was in the water. As Ash was walking ashore with the ring a wave startled her and she dropped the ring. It fell in the sand between coral outcroppings and disappeared. She & Patrick looked with another couple for the ring but it wasn’t to be found. The next day Ash found “the ring finders” and gave me a call. Since from my workplace at Pearl Harbor I’m halfway there I told Ash I’d leave soon and be there by about 2PM. We met at the Foodland grocery store and after finding parking walked down to the beach together. After walking through the scenario of what happened in the water I started my search. Many coral chunks were in the search area and I did my best to look all around them. I found about 6 or 7 junk targets but no ring. Then as I was once again pushing my detector between the coral outcroppings I got a really nice low tone. I started to scoop but the coral was solid underneath the sand and my scoop couldn’t reach the target. I tried different angles and finally the target broke free and the surge of water pushed it towards me and away from between the coral. I finally got a good scoop and there was Patrick’s Gold Wedding Band. Ash & Patrick were watching the whole time and were extremely relieved when I came up with his ring. Another Honeymoon saved. Aloha to Patrick & Ash!
