Gold wedding band lost, recovered and returned in Manayunk, Philadelphia, PA!

  • from Philadelphia (Pennsylvania, United States)

I’m still laughing about it….Hopefully Taylor and Scott are too!

Taylor found me via the Ring Finders Directory after her husband, Scott, lost his large gold wedding band. They live in a row home in the Manayunk area of Philadelphia, PA. Apparently, Scott was horsing around with their dogs on the front porch when he felt(and heard) his ring slip off his finger and bounce into the front yard. Unfortunately, the sloping front yard is quite unruly with the presence of 2-foot deep ground Ivy vine. They had been searching for hours in the dark the night before and then again the next morning before they finally asked me to come with my detector. I showed up around lunchtime the next day(1/18/21). When I walked up to their front door I noticed the search area was going to be quite a challenge….it was quite overgrown and sweeping my detector was not going to be possible. Not to be deterred I made me way into the deep brush with the intent to poke in and out of the brush with my small search coil. I worked my way up through weeds to the top of the slope closest to porch and noticed that they had been hard at work cutting away and removing the first 2 feet of deep weeds. Scott and Taylor were on the porch looking down on me and talking me through the actions that lead to the loss.

Now keep in mind…I’ve been there 60 seconds and haven’t even turned on my detector…I look down in the middle of the small area that they had cleared that morning…and hey….that looks like a ring???? I bend down and ha!….it is a ring. A large, white gold wedding band. I pick it up and hold it out to Scott…who is clearly shocked? dumbfounded? amazed? embarrassed?

We laughed and laughed. Who knows how they could’ve missed it…I just told them how happy I was to be able to find for them. And then I told them it was their loss that they didn’t get to witness my mad detector skills!

So much fun to be a RingFinder!

How to Find a Lost Ring Thrown in a Yard…Bel Air, Maryland

Niesh’s Spectacular Engagement Ring and Wedding Band Sparkling Once Again!

Peter’s Decision to Contact THE RING FINDERS Ultimately Returns Smiles to the Couple’s Faces!

BRIAN RUDOLPH, LOST ITEM RECOVERY SPECIALIST (LAND, WATER, SAND, HOUSES & VEHICLES) WILL FIND YOUR LOST KEEPSAKE! CALL ASAP (301) 466-8644!

If you want to find a lost ring that was thrown by you or a loved one during a time of stress, check out THE RING FINDERS website and contact a local RING FINDER metal detectorist in your area! That’s what Peter did and he got his wife’s engagement ring / wedding band back on her finger in nearly minutes!

I received a text from a very frustrated young man who spent a couple days searching with a metal detector for his wife’s lost engagement and wedding band (which were welded together) out in their backyard. Finally, when he gave up, Peter went online looking for additional help and eventually he came across THE RING FINDERS directory. He asked if I could be of assistance and I told Peter that I was more than excited to help him find Niesh’s missing ring.

Like many couples experience, Peter and Niesh had a heated moment between the two of them. At some point during the night of their conflict, Niesh took off her engagement ring / wedding band and placed it on her dresser. Out of anger, Peter took the sentimental 14 Karat White Gold, 3.5 Carat Diamond keepsake, opened the french doors to his rear deck located on the second floor of their house and chucked the beloved piece of jewelry as far as he could out onto the backyard lawn.

Over 50% of all of my ring searches have to do with rings that were lost due to a “throw” or “toss” during a couple’s argument. If you are reading this article and you had a similar situation, please do not feel condemnation for what took place. This is very common and there’s hope for you in recovering your lost ring, pendant or other keepsake. You must not waste time, emotions and physical energy…immediately call THE RING FINDERS to help you!

As I talked to Peter on the phone, I gathered all of the facts regarding the lost ring. Just like with an investigation, you have to ask all of the right questions before you can start to crack the case! We set up a time for me to come out the next morning to do my search. I assured the distraught young man that he would get his wife’s ring back to her and that he did not have to worry about a thing.

Early the next morning, around 6:30am, I started driving the hour and fifteen minute journey to the search site. I couldn’t wait to find the missing ring that Peter, his wife and several others could not recover from the backyard. People were walking all over the lawn searching for the jewel, and in addition to that, the metal detector that Peter acquired couldn’t do the job either in pulling the ring from the grass.

Once I arrived, my client took me to his backyard and shortly thereafter I started the hunt! Peter pointed out the approximate direction where he believed he saw the ring fly towards the ground. I explained to him that it is always helpful to get as much information as possible. However, because I find lost items in the complete opposite directions of where my clients thought their possessions had ended up, I leave all possibilities open on the table! I warned Peter not to worry if he saw me metal detecting in a totally unlikely area from where he thought he saw the ring fly. He agreed with a smile. All he wanted was to get his wife’s ring back and forget about what happened a couple days earlier.

My strategy entailed grid searching from the far left side of the property all the way to the right end of the estate. There was probably an acre of property back there, but I was only concerned with about 35 yards square to search. Rings can easily fly 100 ft or more depending on the circumstances so I had much territory to cover.

I finished the first grid line in about three or four minutes. Then, I returned back in the opposite direction to complete the second line. As I was completing the third line, my detector gave me the perfect target signal which lined up with the description of Peter’s wife’s ring. Because THE RING FINDERS’ detectorists (like myself) are experts in recovering rings, we know how to set up our detectors correctly and to discriminate out any unwanted signals. This was one signal that I was excited to receive in my headphones! Though the target was located on the far side of the lawn (opposite in the direction of where Peter believed he saw the band fly), I was almost certain that I had discovered Niesh’s ring. Before I even had a chance to kneel down to the ground to investigate the signal, my eyes had already locked on to the most beautiful and gorgeous looking piece of circular metal surrounded by diamonds everywhere! I found the missing ring! I couldn’t wait to break the news to Peter! He would finally be relieved of all of his worries and frustrations! That was the whole reason why he invited me into this important search to begin with! And I certainly delivered what he was looking for!

Moments later, I surprised Peter with the precious keepsake! He was certainly blown away by my successful efforts! The man could not believe that I had found the ring in less than 5 minutes of searching. Also, he was equally surprised that I found the band on the far opposite side of the lawn! He thought that it landed somewhere on the left side, but I found it much farther over to the right end of the lawn. This confirmed what I told him before regarding how I find things in the opposite directions of where people think their possessions had ended up!

Peter was wearing a face mask (due to the Covid-19 pandemic) so I couldn’t see his facial expressions when I surprised him with the ring. However, the way he excitedly moved about following the great news I shared, certainly showed me how he couldn’t believe that the nightmare was finally over! Now that I had found the very piece of jewelry that he presented to his wife when he asked her to marry her, and the same ring that he put on her finger on their wedding day, Peter could breathe easy again! He was so happy and extremely grateful for my recovery efforts!

As soon as I packed up my gear, I said goodbye to Peter and made my way down the road. The young man who was wise enough to call a professional ring finder, excitedly returned into his house with the ring that he so desperately sought after. He walked straight upstairs to the bedroom, woke up his sleeping wife, and with the warmest smile of love on his face, Peter presented his bride Niesh with the happiest surprise of her week! The young lady’s “other” special gem had finally returned home to her!

Wedding Band Lost for Over a Year…Found Buried in Neighbor’s Gainesville, Virginia Yard

  • from Washington (District of Columbia, United States)

Scott’s Handsome Gold Wedding Band Showing Off Its Brilliance!

Proudly and Excitedly, Scott Holds His Most Priceless Keepsake!

BRIAN RUDOLPH, LOST ITEM RECOVERY SPECIALIST (LAND, WATER, SAND, HOUSES & VEHICLES) WILL FIND YOUR LOST KEEPSAKE! CALL ASAP (301) 466-8644!

I connected with a man named Scott who learned of THE RING FINDERS from an ad that I posted online. He asked me all kinds of questions about what kind of help I could offer him and I asked Scott tons of questions, as well.

A year or so earlier, Scott highly suspected that he lost his 14 karat yellow gold wedding band while helping his elderly neighbors who lived next door to him. He picked up a truck load of mulch for both he and his neighbor and he spent a full day lifting, carrying and spreading numerous bags of mulch throughout the two properties’ flower beds, bushes and surrounding trees. It was sometime at the end of the day that Scott noticed that his ring was missing off of his finger.

The good neighbor searched everywhere for the classic style wedding band. Sadly, all of his efforts could not lead Scott to his cherished wedding day keepsake. Over the next year, he would use metal detectors to search both lawns and still he was unable to recover the ring. It was at the moment when the defeated man saw my ad about the elite international metal detectorist directory that his hope finally began to rise like the sun again!

Scott and I went through all the details during our initial phone call conversation regarding the loss of his wedding band. The next evening I met up with him at his residence. I was excited to help solve this mystery and try to recover his beloved sentimental keepsake for him!

Even though Scott concluded that his ring must have gone missing during the time of the landscaping project, there was no concrete evidence that it was outside. Some stories end up concluding that the person returns into the house and they had washed their hands off and the ring slips off their finger at that moment. In this case, I would be blindly searching based on Scott’s hunch. Also, the mind will try to play tricks on you when you’re metal detecting for someone like this client because you constantly face doubts about one’s recollection of events that took place long ago. In addition to that, the gentleman had already used a metal detector in his attempts to locate the missing band. Though he’s not a professional detectorist, some will get lucky from time to time. That meant that the odds were less in our favor that I might recover the ring based on the number of previous recovery efforts made.

After Scott showed me all of the places where he walked to and from the truck and where he dumped the bags of mulch, I returned to the car to gather up my detecting equipment. I started the search on Scott’s property right where his truck backed up onto his lawn. It was pretty cold outside, yet my adrenalin had kicked in and I was ready for battle!

For approximately 45 minutes to an hour, I checked the front lawn, the flower beds, all around the trees and the side of the house that was adjacent to the neighbor’s property. I got target signals alright but when I dug up the objects that were just below the surface, all that I found were bottle caps, soda can pull tabs and random pieces of aluminum.

I detected every spot that was even a small possibility of where Scott’s ring could have ended up. When I finished the yard and areas near the sidewalk, it was time to take the search over to the neighbor’s property. My client had already been given permission for me to detect the next door neighbor’s front and side yards.

The first sections of the adjacent property that I conquered were the flowerbeds on either side of the neighbor’s front walkway. The mulch had been laid everywhere in these regions. Except for electrical interference from the house and some pieces of miscellaneous metal found just below the surface, there wasn’t anything more to boast about finding. Next, I moved back down the hill to a grassy strip of land that started at the street and led up the driveway. I concluded that that piece of land was also free of any buried jewelry. I slowly and methodically continued my grid search up the grassy knoll along side the driveway. My plan was to detect from the concrete to about 20 feet out into the lawn for the whole distance leading up to the front walkway. I thought that it made logical sense that the ring could have fallen off Scott’s finger as he carried bags of mulch up the hill and over to the flower beds near the front of his neighbor’s house.

Little by little I moved my way up the knoll. I got a number of decent signals which led me to lift up the earth in a few spots just to make sure that I didn’t miss the wedding band. However, nothing of interest was discovered. It was not until I was about halfway up the driveway, just inches from the concrete, that I got a very curious target signal. The object appeared to be buried perhaps 1.5 to 2 inches below the surface. It was showing up on my detector screen as a potential gold type object. I knelt down and proceeded to take a look at what my metal detector had located. Next, I took my handheld metal detector out (called a pinpointer), as well as my digging trowl and I centered in on where exactly the target was buried. Then, I cut below the surface to bring up that section of earth to investigate. At first, I was not seeing what my detectors were picking up. I used the pinpointer again to locate the piece of metal and then all of a sudden my eyes became fixated on a gold colored object that was just barely peaking through the earth that I had dug up! I looked closer and there it was! It was a gold wedding band! My heart lit up so brilliantly at my discovery! I could not have been more excited at that moment! This piece of jewelry had been buried for a good long while and it really made its way down below the earth quite a bit more than I would have expected! I find rings that are buried for one or more years and they sometimes don’t make their way down into the ground as this one ended up! It really depends on the type of earth that you are dealing with and the region that you are searching in. I was so happy! It was late, completely dark outside, cold as ice and the ring could have been anywhere (inside or outside)! And yet I end up finding the band on Scott’s neighbor’s property! I was looking down at the very spot where it had dropped over a year ago and it would now finally be returned to its proper owner’s finger! I couldn’t wait to break the news! My successful search was finally over!

Once I took a few photos of the ring which was left in the very position where I discovered it, I had the honor and privilege to reveal my find with Scott! It was definitely a moment to remember! He was beyond surprised and completely blown away by where I found it! With all of the searching that he had done over the past year (using metal detectors and giving it his all), he was so happy that he called a professional to get the job done! Finally, after all of this time, Scott slid the very handsome and extremely sentimental ring back on his finger! His wife was just as excited to learn that the ring that she had presented to Scott on their wedding day would not be lost forever, but that it was finally unearthed and returned home once again!

Lost Ring Found, Joshua TX

  • from Fort Worth (Texas, United States)

Brandon contacted me Sunday January 10, 2021 and said he had lost his white gold wedding band playing around in the rare snowfall we had. We agreed for me to come out Tuesday afternoon. I searched the back yard corner where his wife said he thought he lost it. She asked if  my detector could locate a gold ring. I replied, if it’s here I’ll find it. After about 5 minutes I located the ring. She wasn’t right there and she had a big smile when I looked up and showed it to her. I’m glad I was able to find your ring, and thank you for the reward!

Gold Wedding Ring Recovered – Raleigh

  • from Raleigh (North Carolina, United States)

I got a call this afternoon from a distraught husband. He’d been out playing with his dog and “my ring just flew off my hand!” He said he had lost quite a bit of weight, so the ring was already loose on his finger — playing with the dog just provided the opportunity for it to come off. He knew exactly where he’d been standing and said he saw the ring fly off, heard it hit something, but then lost track of it. He had borrowed a friend’s metal detector to try and locate the ring, but had not had any luck figuring out the assorted beeps and buzzes from the detector, so we made arrangements to get together to find it.

The ring had been lost in a fenced-in kids’ playground area covered in wood mulch. Recreating the ring’s “flight path,” I started searching in a grid pattern, working my way further and further out. After maybe 20 minutes of searching and no ring, I started the search over again, back where he had been standing when it came off. It turns out that the ring had come off, hit a plastic barrier in front of him, and ricocheted back to land almost at his feet. Apparently in searching for it initially, he had pressed it down into the mulch as he walked around. Really glad to reunite the husband and his ring! Another Happy Ending!

Lost silver ring in Raleigh – Found!

  • from Raleigh (North Carolina, United States)

I got a call from a mom whose son’s girlfriend had lost a silver ring. Although she knew it was in the side yard, she really didn’t have much more location info than that. The search took maybe 30 min (silver is usually very easy to find). Anyway, happy Mom and happy girlfriend! Another Happy Ending!

LOST WEDDING BAND IN HACKBERRY , LA. – FOUND

  • from Lafayette (Louisiana, United States)
Contact:

John was from out of state, working to restore services to the Lake Charles area after the destruction of hurricane Laura. He was sweeping dried mud out of his truck seat when his white gold wedding band flew off his finger. He heard it hit some hurricane debris and before heading to parts unknown in the road ditch. He and a couple of fellow workers moved some of the trash and hand searched the area, No luck. He called Carrie and I the next day for help. Within 2 hours we were on site hunting. Since John had left his own metal detector back home, I lent him mine. After hunting for a few minutes he needed to head back to work and I started hunting. Within an hour, Carrie got a good signal in a thick clump of grass. Neither of us could see the source , so I had to cut and pull some blades of grass from the clump. We both got a visual at the same time. We messaged a picture of the ring to John and soon saw him drive up. Two people had checked that same clump the day before and had not seen the ring. Lots of smiles followed.

Thanks, John, for that generous reward.

Lost ring in the water, Winter Park, Fl…Found and Returned to Owner!

  • from Sanford (Florida, United States)
Contact:

Mike McInroe…Ring Finder Specialist…Call Anytime, ASAP…321-363-6029

Ashley and her fiance were enjoying a beautiful New Years day at the Meads Botanical Garden in Winter Park, Florida sitting on a concrete wall along a very picturesque stream. The sun filtered through the Cyprus trees and the breeze was cool and refreshing. The day and the setting were perfect for what Ashley’s fiance had in mind. After dating for nearly 9 years he thought it was about time he asked the “Big Question” and he had it all planned out. And while sitting on the wall along the edge of the stream with their feet hanging over the water, he reached into his pocket and pulled out the small box which contained a very special engagement ring. As he opened the box he was looking into Ashley’s eyes, hoping to catch her by surprise and all of a sudden he felt something bounce off of his leg and then he heard something fall into the water. Was it an acorn or something from above he thought? One look at the little box he was holding up to Ashley told him the horrible truth! Her engagement ring was not in it’s place and had somehow popped out when he opened it up. They were both dumbfounded and could not believe what had just happened and they desperately tried to figure out what to do next. Should they wade into the cold flowing stream and try to find it? Ashley was devastated and the thought occurred to her to call her father, Mr David, and ask him for advise. And wisely he told them not to try looking for it on their own for fear of pushing the ring further down into the sand and silt. Mr David promptly went on line to look for help and typed “How to find jewelry underwater” and that led him to theringfinders.com web site. He had his dear wife Mrs Debbie give me a call and we made plans to meet up the next morning at the Mead Garden entrance.

When planning for such a search I try and imagine what all I will need, weather it may be a wading search where I use a water proof metal detector and a long handled scoop along with a floating sifter or maybe I need to bring all my scuba gear including a mask and tank and a hose with weight belt and weights, etc. Sometimes a metal detector works well and other times I can only use a water proof pin pointer because of the underwater conditions like debris and thick aquatic vegetation.

The following morning we made our way down to the small stream and I was able to measure the depth and determine that I would need to suit up and set up my tank and hose. I was able to mark the wall to get an idea where to begin looking but I was not prepared for how cold the water turned out to be. Having lived in Florida for the past 30 years my blood has thinned out and this ol body likes to be warm. As I sunk down to the bottom and made my way along the wall I could not believe all the sticks and debris that had gathered in the exact area where I needed to search. I tried using my hand held Pulse Dive, 6 inch pin pointer but had trouble getting in and around all the sticks and branches. So I surfaced and changed to my Garrett Pro Pointer AT, which most detectorists refer to as the “Garrett Carrot” and that proved to be exactly what I needed. On each signal I would grab a handful of leaves and sand and debris and sift through it till I was left with the target. I found a few junk items and after 15 minutes of this grab and sift I grabbed my last handful and was a bit confused to see a small piece of white plastic sticking out between my fingers. As I shook away the silt I caught a glimpse of something round and shiney and low and behold there was Ashley’s brand new engagement ring with the little white tag still on it. You should have heard them all holler and yell when I came up out of the water holding that little beauty!

Wedding Ring Lost in Germantown, Maryland…Found in Apartment Complex Bush

  • from Washington (District of Columbia, United States)

Kyle’s 14 Karat White Gold Wedding Band Shines Bright Again!

Kyle and Shayna Proudly Show Off the Newly Discovered Wedding Band!

BRIAN RUDOLPH, LOST ITEM RECOVERY SPECIALIST (LAND, WATER, SAND, HOUSES & VEHICLES) WILL FIND YOUR LOST KEEPSAKE! CALL ASAP (301) 466-8644!

I received a call from a young lady named Shayna who learned about THE RING FINDERS and my services from another couple that needed help and found success in recovering their ring through my metal detecting efforts.

Shayna explained to me that her husband Kyle lost his wedding band a day earlier. He was outside on his first floor apartment complex balcony cleaning off cigarette ashes that had blown onto their property from the apartment above. The ashes went all over the couple’s son’s toys. Being a responsible tenant , Kyle cleaned up the mess and walked outside to discard all of the ashes. As Kyle flung the pile, his 14 karat white gold wedding band flew off his finger and landed somewhere in the very thick and dense bushes.

The frustrated fellow spent hours trying to find his lost keepsake. Eventually his efforts spilled over into the next day and he still couldn’t find the ring anywhere. Unfortunately, the bushes were so intensely dense and tight with a strong root system that no attempt to retrieve his ring proved to be successful. He tried over and over again but sadly all of his hard work led to no avail. Finally, Kyle’s wife Shayna gave me a call to seek help. After gathering all of the information regarding the lost ring, I scheduled a time to come out to the property later that evening.

Kyle met me outside by the bushes and he showed me exactly what happened when his wedding band flew off his finger. He wasn’t sure exactly where it ended up in the very large amount of landscaping to cover. When I thought that the bushes were going to be somewhat thick and tight, I had no idea how different these bushes turned out to be. They looked like some type of offshoot of a Juniper ground cover shrub. It was seriously going to be a difficult recovery operation! I could literally bounce on top of these plants like being on a trampoline and they barely moved! That’s how bad it was! Throughout my entire search I would have to walk over the top of the bushes and metal detect every square inch of the wild jungle-of-a-mess! Not only was the root system so very out of control, but the branches of the shrubs were so very tight, strong and majorly condensed.

Kyle returned to his apartment as I gathered up all of my equipment including my metal detectors, pinpointer, boots and gloves. It was a cold night outside but I was up for the challenge of solving the mystery as to where the ring finally ended up. I completely understood why Kyle never found the ring because you could not see a thing looking into those shrubs.

The Horrible Thick Roots and Branches Made the Search Extremely Difficult!

I first started to metal detect over the top of the plants to see if maybe the ring had ended up in the middle of the bushes rather than dropping to the bottom. I picked up all kinds of signals but there was no ring to be found. I did discovered tons of trash all over that area of landscaping!

Eventually, once I pulled most of the trash out of the bushes, I changed the sensitivity on my detector and began to hover over the bushes that were about 18 inches to 2 feet high in some places. Not even a small 6 inch metal detector coil (the disc at the bottom of the metal detector) could fit in between the roots of these tough plants! I had to carefully listen to every faint signal and evaluate whether or not that particular target signal could be legitimate to check out. Each time I came across a target that was in the range of Kyle’s ring, I carefully put my pinpointer down into the bushes and searched the area below. Most of the time, I would be picking up multiple pieces of trash that were in the same area as the signal that I was searching for. It wasn’t easy and after a while it was no longer fun trying to find this little guy!

The Missing Ring Resting in the Middle of the “Jungle”!

Approximately 45 minutes into my search, I picked up another faint signal that was definitely in the range of Kyle’s wedding band. Because I have so much experience with various types of ring searches, I knew the number range that I was looking for on my detector screen. This one matched up quite well but until I got myself down into the bushes once again, I would not know what I was dealing with. I jumped back on top of the bushes and placed my pinpointer way down below. Sure enough, as I isolated that particular piece of metal with my orange handheld detector, I saw Kyle’s missing white gold ring resting beside an old beer bottle! I finally found the distraught young man’s beloved wedding band! I couldn’t be happier to wrap up that particular search!

There was no way in the world that Kyle would have ever found his ring because there was no ability to detect this piece of metal with one’s own eyes in that horrible jungle below! The young man needed the technology and skills that THE RING FINDERS provide people like Kyle and Shayna!

I was beyond thrilled to surprise the couple with the good news! Believe me, they were definitely surprised in the way I revealed the ring to them! Presenting the handsome keepsake back to its owner was a wonderful experience indeed! Seeing Kyle’s and Shayna’s sweet smiles shining so bright were worth all of my hard efforts in recovering the wedding band!
