Lost White Gold Diamond Ring in Ringgold Georgia…Found

  • from Chattanooga (Tennessee, United States)

White gold and diamond ring was lost while tending to the flower beds in the back yard.  The couple had bought a metal detector to search for it themselves with no luck.  After looking for it for around two weeks, they found me on www.theringfinders.com .  Since the location was close for me I headed over there immediately.  I found the ring in less than 30 minutes buried in the grass just outside of one of the flower beds.

Lost Diamond and Platinum earring recovered in West River, Maryland!

I received a call on 1/21/19 for Holly stating she had lost one of her Platinum stud diamond earrings. Knowing there  isn’t a lot of “metal” to work with with studs, I was reluctant to have any hopes of recovering such a small item which is mainly composed of a non metal gem. Holly explained the circumstances in which she lost it and was 100% positive it was in a relatively small sandy area in her horse barn. We made plans to meet at the barn later that day. Once we met, Holly directed me to the barn and gave great detail in where she believed she was when she felt the earring come off. On the technical side of things, it was a challenging item to find being so small. Holly let me use its mate to “dial in” the sensitivity and other settings of my machine. Once I was able to hear the specific tone the item gave me, I got to work. Shortly thereafter…….

Here is the text from an email Holly sent me shortly after I left her with the lost earring in hand….

Thank you, Tom Watkins!

Thank you, Tom Watkins!

My husband was at his cabin and discovered his gold wedding band was missing. He knew it must have come off his finger at some point while working in the woods nearby. He had a rough idea for the radius of where the ring might be. After borrowing a metal detector and looking until dusk, he came home. To say he was upset is an understatement. We had just celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary the month before. We had our wedding bands specially made and thought it could never be replaced. He headed out first thing in the morning with a friend and another metal detector. They worked all day. There were heavy rains through the night and the leaves were really coming down, making the search even more difficult. The hunt went on for four days.  I started researching online about special metal detectors and tips for finding lost items. That is how I came across the website for theringfinders.com. I was surprised to see a ringfinder located within 40 miles of our cabin. What did we have to lose? I sent Tom Watkins an email telling him about our missing ring. Within an hour, I received a reply from Tom saying that he would love to give it a try and looked forward to helping us out. He listed his personal phone number and asked us to call him.  My husband called Tom and they agreed to meet the following morning. Tom’s wife was also along for the hunt. I was at work when I got a call from my husband. As soon as I answered I could tell from his voice that it was good news. They had found his ring in about 1.5 hours – after we had looked for 4 days! I cannot explain the relief and excitement we felt. All night long, we kept looking at the ring and just laughing. We had almost given up hope. Thank you, Tom Watkins!

Gold wedding band lost in Florida, Ft. Myers tall grass – Found!

  • from Marco Island (Florida, United States)

Received a call from a gentleman in Ft. Myers (12/8/2018) who reported having recently lost his gold wedding band while washing his dogs in the garden.  The soapy water had allowed the ring to slip off his finger.  For those of you unfamiliar with Florida grass, its “thick”, very thick.  I arrived to find a small 6′ – 8′ circular enclosure that had been staked off to mark the location, limit traffic, and prevent mowing, etc.  A quick search of this area with the Minelab CTX3030 running a 17″ coil revealed nothing, at which point the search area was expanded.  Within seconds, the audible signal of gold rang true.  With the assistance of a pin-pointer, the ring finally became visible having already worked its way through the thatch all the way to the dirt.  Well, pictures speak volumes and are often better than a thousand words, so let these and the smiles evidence the relief and happiness within…Happy Holiday and Merry Christmas to you all!

If you’ve lost something metal, I’ll find it – call Mark (239)500-RING.

White Gold Engagement Ring Recovered in Carrboro, N.C. on 12/5/2018

I recovered and returned this beautiful white gold engagement ring on 12/5/2018 for a nice young lady who had lost it in a yard last February. She explained she had tried several times to look for it over the past months with no luck. After speaking with her about the ring I agreed to meet her there and try to find it for her. When I got there I started my search using my Electroscope long range locators to narrow down the search of the yard and find the strongest hot spot signals. I then got out my detector to start my search in the strongest signal area I felt my Electroscope was hitting on. After about 15 minutes of searching I found the ring in the area of interest my Electroscope locked onto. I was very happy to locate this beautiful ring for such a nice lady. Its always a good day when I can help someone recover what they lost.

Lost Platinum Diamond Ring in Chattanooga Tennessee…Found

  • from Chattanooga (Tennessee, United States)

Conner contacted me late Sunday afternoon, on October 28th, around 5:00 PM.  The ring was actually platinum, my first one, so I wasn’t certain what it would read on the CTX.  It gave me a solid 12-03, in the high-trash mode, very similar to white gold. I have attached a couple photos of the happy lady.

Testimonial:

“After a heavy rain, the night before, my fiancée and I were getting one of our cars unstuck in the yard. Little did we expect her engagement ring would go flying off her finger into the grass. We both quickly went into a panic as this is a family diamond passed on for generations. We tried everything to find the ring from crawling for hours to borrowing our neighbor’s metal detector. After six hours we were running out of daylight. I got online and found Ed Hart! He understood how important it was and drove over immediately to help find it. Within three minutes he had found her RING! We can not thank Ed enough. It is hard to find such wonderful people like him! Thanks again Ed you a lifesaver! ”

Levi at Lake Superior 8-1-2018

  • from Matthews (North Carolina, United States)

I received a call to find a lost ring on August 18, 2018. I located this ring using an Electroscope by Thomas long range detector and a Tesoro Tiger Shark metal detector.

“While getting out of a kayak on Lake Superior, we were buzzed by a finishing boat that created some choppy water. I stuck my hand in the lake for balance, and when I pulled it out, my wedding ring was gone. I couldn’t believe it! We looked for an hour before a storm came up and forced us to quit. I decided I probably wasn’t the first person to lose a ring, and some Googling led me to The Ring Finders. I decided to give it a shot, even though I was basically resigned to the thought that my ring was lost forever. I reached out to Gary and he was able to make the trip up to Duluth the very next day. After arriving at the beach, he messaged me to say he might have located something. I must say, I was not convinced at that point. A while later, he sent a picture of a ring. My ring! I’m so amazed and grateful that he was able to locate something as small as my wedding ring in Lake Superior. What a great gift on the week of our anniversary!

I will certainly be taking my ring off when I paddle or put my arm in the water in the future!

Thanks for braving the cold water and locating my ring Gary! I hope you keep putting your amazing detecting skills to good use!”

Lake Owen Ring Found on 8-5-18

  • from Matthews (North Carolina, United States)

On 8-5-2018, I received a call to locate a lost ring at Lake Owen. I used my Electroscope by Thomas long distance detector to initially locate the ring. I brought my buddy Mike to fish the ring out of the water.

“Thank you Gary and Mike for the fast and friendly service! And most of all, thank you for finding my wedding ring of almost 19 years. I had lost the ring on my 2018 annual family  vacation while swimming in Lake Owen. Gary and Mike came out on a Sunday and found my ring within 5 minutes. It was a huge relief to know my ring was found and returned to its rightful place on my finger 🙂 Thanks again!Dan and Kellie Miller, Madison”
