Ring lost during proposal in Cape May, NJ FOUND!

  • from Cape May (New Jersey, United States)

Received a call from Jordan on December 21st, 2019. Jordan was in the process of proposing to his girlfriend on Sunset Beach in Cape May when the engagement ring evidently fell out of the box unbeknownst to him. After gathering a few details from Jordan, we setup a time to meet and I headed over to Sunset Beach. I arrived before Jordan and his father so I decided to take a walk down to see if I could figure out where they may have been. Sure enough the tell tale signs were there so I began searching where I believed they may have been. After a brief 10 minute search I had the ring in my scoop! I went back to the parking lot and awaited Jordans arrival. He and his father were in total shock and disbelief that I had already recovered the ring before they arrived. After reuniting Jordan with the ring his father explained how much of a roller coaster of emotions the day had been. All recoveries are emotional for the clients, for many different reasons, and no two are ever the same, but sometimes there are the ones that really make providing this service warm your heart. This is one of them. I attached the reuniting video but it is a bit dark.

Here are some comments and reviews of service from Jordan and his family:

Jordan Page “Hey Jeff! This is me and my fiance with our recovered ring she loves it and we are so thankful to you. You changed what was one of the worst tragedies into one of those great moments you rember for a lifetime. You reaffirmed my faith in humanity and decency. You are truely a hero! To come out at 10pm on a sat night in winter is unbelievable enough let alone. Your integrity in finding the ring before we got there and holding it shows how much of an amazing honest person you are and that is rare these days. We and I personally can not thank you enough the joy even as I write this is overflowing. Everyone in town has been asking us about it and I’m singing your praises as the savior of our engagement. I got a call from sunset beach gift shop checking in about if we found the ring and I told them how awesome you were. He told me to send him a picture of your card so he can give your info to anyone that needs your services. Thank you so so much.”

Keith Page “First, Jeff, Thank You for finding Jordan’s ring…you are amazing!
You came out on a cold Saturday night and before we even got there, you had the ring, again, thank you…I cannot say it enough!
As a father, knowing what Jordan went through to get to this point and then seeing the video of him on his knee proposing and then his reaction realizing that the ring had fallen out and disappeared into the sand, it brought tears to my eyes for him.
You, the helpful people on the beach, the staff at the Sunset Beach Gift shop, my son’s fiance and her two beautiful children, my wife, all turned an emotional roller coaster of a night into one of the most positive and memorable evenings of our lives.
Thank you again, you really are a good person, you have had a positive impact on everyone’s life that you have helped by helping them find something they lost, please keep doing what you do, it does not go unnoticed.
Our very best to you,
Keith & Karen Page, Jordan and his beautiful family. By the way, Maria said yes!”

Karen Page “There really should be more people like you, Jeff! You don’t just provide a much needed service, you restore people’s faith in others along with restoring their precious items. A truly remarkable thing, and very much appreciated! You Rock!”

Lost Wedding Ring in Lafayette, LA. – Found

Pat called me on Tuesday evening to ask for help in finding Ann’s lost wedding ring. The one he gave her 40 years ago. Ann had been playing volleyball with the grandkids in the front yard of their home. After that and some basketball, she noticed her wedding ring was not on her finger. I said we would be there to hunt at 8:00 AM the next day. Carrie and I loaded up early and arrived at the hunt site on time. Ann showed us where she was during the volleyball game. Sid found it 10 minutes after the hunt began. Needless to say, Ann was very happy to see her ring again. It was a pleasure to help out such a charming lady. Thank you for your generous reward and the delicious blueberry muffins.

I received a call from Derrick requesting my service to locate his dad’s lost wedding band which he had lost yesterday while out in the back yard building a snow man with his grand children.  Derrick told me he and his dad spent all afternoon searching for the ring with no luck, and today Derrick went on the internet to see where he could rent a metal detector and that’s where he came across my blog page.

I told Derrick I would be down to his place shortly.   When I meet Derrick’s dad at the door, he showed me the approximate where the ring was lost and within 15 minutes I had the ring back on his dad’s finger.

Another Happy Client and a great start for the first day of 2020.   Thank you Ross and Derrick ,for entrusting me to locate your lost ring.

Ryan contacted me the day after his wife had lost her late grandfather’s wedding ring at the beach. He told me what had happened, and that it had happened the night before when they were on their way to watch the Christmas light boat parade in Newport Beach Harbor. We arranged a time to meet, and I prepared my equipment for the search.

When I arrived Ryan was waiting, in fact he had been doing some more searching for the elusive ring. He explained what had happened. He and his wife had gone to see a house they had rented on the beach a while back, and then make their way over to the harbor to watch the boat parade. As they were walking through the beach sand his wife was fiddling with her ring, when all of a sudden it dropped into the sand. She stopped immediately, not wanting to lose the spot of the loss, so they could search exactly where it fell. They both pulled out their lights and began to comb through the sand with no luck. It then seemed hopeless, and they went on. This ring was her grandfather’s, her mother’s father, a man she had never met because he had passed before she was born, but had heard so much about him from her mother. Her mother gave her his wedding band so she could always have a memory of his part in her life. Obviously she was heartbroken.

Ryan could not be comforted, so into the early morning he searched on the web to find a way to recover the ring when he came upon the Ring Finders and found my contact information. Ryan remembered the exact spot of the loss, and had it narrowed down pretty tight. It took about 3 passes to locate the ring, and it was right under his finger search marks. It is sometimes very difficult to find a small item in sand because it almost acts as a fluid when you move it, and it continues to move the object around as the search is conducted. Anyway I pulled the ring out of the sand and was able to hand it back to a very joyful Ryan.

Ryan sent the following testimonial:

Steve is like a superhero! I’m so happy I didn’t give up and took to the web to find some help. Steve responded to my message first thing in the morning and was quick to make himself available that afternoon. He kept me updated on his status and was positive in all communications – a real comfort when you’re panicked. He arrived with a smile and was ready to roll.

That ring has been on a journey through the family for over 75 years and I’m glad it didn’t end that night on the beach.

Thank you, Steve, for being so generous with your time and being available so quickly. It’s a breath of fresh air to meet someone who uses their talents to help others for the right reason. You rock!

Thank again.

Lost Titanium Wedding Band at Kaimana Beach…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began when I got a message on my Metal Detecting Oahu Facebook page. Stephen from San Diego lost his Titanium Wedding Band at Kaimana Beach on Monday November 18th. He wasn’t sure if it was in the water or sand he only noticed it missing after playing with his children on the beach. Thankfully the tide and surf was up that evening so other detectorists would stay away. I was going to wait for a low tide so I could get into the water at least chest deep to cover all the area Stephen could have been. He knew he didn’t go past the lifeguard shack so I started my hunt off the Natatorium Wall and worked toward the shack. I found a few coins which was an indication the ring was probably still here. After about 30 minutes and 2/3s of the way to the shack I got a strong hit on the Nox and in one scoop there was Stephen’s wedding ring. I texted a pic of the ring to Stephen and he responded immediately, “Wow! Just landing in San Diego!!! What a Blessing!!! I arranged to pass the ring to his friend Karl on Oahu and he got the ring back to Stephen a few weeks later. Respecting Stephen’s wishes I only posted a picture of the ring back on his hand with the Hawaiian Shaka! Aloha to Stephen!

Lost Ring Found in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

  • from Harrisburg (Pennsylvania, United States)

In September of this year, I received a telephone call from an individual asking if I thought I might locate a lost engagement and wedding band, lost in the fall of 2014.  I believe I commented that if it is still there, I will find it.

Upon arrival on 9/23/19,  I was given a tour of where they might be lost when raking leaves and other yard work.  I believe the first day I was there 7.5 hours.  I had to limit searching the second day and onward in about 4 hour increments.  I was then shown a bank where 5 years of leaves and brush had been deposited.  This was the second possible hot spot.  That bank was steep enough that I needed to wear crampons.  At the bottom was a tree, about 24 inches in diameter that was there when they were lost.  It had to go.  So I brought a chainsaw and cut it into sections where I could move them with a digging iron.  That search was futile.  On to several other possibilities.  Last week I decided to go back to another section of bank, adjacent to the first.  This involved cutting another tree that was 1/2 way down the bank.  Anyway, as I was about to leave on 12/10/19, having searched with my CTX3030 in the rain most of the morning, I found it after a ten week search.  Owner was thrilled and speechless.  Going back when the weather cooperates to find the gold band.

This was a difficult recovery but persistence reunited this beautiful ring, with all its memories, back to the owner.

Morgan called me three days after Thanksgiving searching for a way to recover her lost family heirloom gold diamond ring. Her aunt had recently passed this ring onto her and it meant a great deal to Morgan. Holding true to her boyfriend Jake’s holiday tradition they found themselves with family and friends up the snowy mountain the day after Thanksgiving with Christmas tree permits in hand. With  a few inches of snow on the ground Morgan had fallen into the snow. When she got up she flicked her gloveless hands to get the cold snow off. However along with the cold snow she also flicked off her precious diamond ring! She was very upset and soon every one was looking through all the snow to see if they could find the ring. They had no success so Morgan went online to find a way to get her beloved heirloom white gold diamond ring recovered. When she came across TheRingFinders she found my success stories and gained some much need hope that maybe the ring could be recovered after all she was certain where she lost it.

During our phone conversation it became clear to us that we need to make quick plans to get up the hill before the winter snow really started to fall. Our main concern was being able to get up the hill safely to recover the ring before a huge dumping of winter show and ice really showed showed. This would force us to wait until the spring thaw. Something we really didn’t want to do even though this ares is not traveled like our cities there is still quite a few locals that enjoy the area all year around. The chance of someone eyeballing the ring was something we certainly did not want to risk.

One week later on a Saturday Morgan’s boyfriend and one of his buddies agreed to meetup to tackle the hill. To our grateful surprise a lot of snow and ice they had experience the previous week had melted. We made great time up the hill and before long I was in full swing after the heirloom white gold diamond ring.

New Wedding Ring Lost In Williamstown, NJ – Found By Dave Milsted

Amanda called me today in a panic. Her husband was in the backyard playing basketball and lost his wedding ring. They searched for a while with no luck. I told her if it is there I will find it. The kicker is they were married 5 days ago. The ring is a little too big and they have discussed getting it sized. The chilly air today didn’t help the cause.

I drove down to Williamstown tonight after work. It is dark and raining. Amanda showed me the area that the basketball court is located. It is a grassy area covered in leaves. The area is about 50 feet by 50 feet. There are no lights, so it was pitch black.

I decided to start close to the hoop. It could have been anywhere due to dribbling and shooting motions. 3 signals in and less than 5 minutes I found the ring! It was under some leaves.

Amanda was standing in the rain watching me. I walked over to her and I guess she thought I was going to ask some more questions. When I showed her the ring she was so surprised that I found it and couldn’t believe that I found it so fast. I got a hug! I’m glad my wife doesn’t get jealous, because I get a lot of hugs doing this service!

It was nice to have another quick find. After seeing the size of the area and it being so dark, I thought for sure that I would be there a very long time.

I love my hobby!! Another happy client!
