San Diego Metal Detectorists finds lost gold wedding band ring in Oceanside Ca. Call 760 889 2751

11-30-2020.  Today I received a voicemail from John asking if I’m available to help find a wedding ring that was lost in the dry sand at Oceanside harbor. John mentioned seeing it fly off his finger and disappear into the sand. Though He and his wife Paula searched with their fingers for some time to no avail,, She was able to find my contact info on Theringfinders website.

Fortunately for them and others I’ve helped…I live nearby Oceanside harbor and promptly arrived in nearly 20 min of receiving this call.

Upon meeting the nice couple at the beach with my metal detector equipment, I was shocked the sun was setting so quickly due to daylight savings, Time was of the essence now so I turned on the old trusty P.I detector before it got dark then began scanning,,Beep,,Beeep,,,Shortly after I heard a familiar gold ring beep and there was Johns wedding band back on his hand again!

  This lost ring call is definition of a sentimental  Gold ring like almost all my calls have been since 2014 after joining TheRingfinders.  Onwards I asked them how long they’ve been married and John said 25yrs.. Then his wife Paula mentioned she was going to sleep on the beach area right there all nightlong if they couldn’t of found it!   This here, Them thar,,, Is what I call…. “Real treasure.” That has been Returned!

I received a call early this morning from Georgia in southern Virginia and she asked if I could help her. I asked her the typical few questions to get an idea of location and scope of work and found that she was approx. 2.5 hours from my location being located in Charlottesville VA. Georgia was worried that the drive was too long for me, but I put her mind at ease stating “this is what we do”, we’ll travel as far as we need to in order to recover a lost item.

Georgia had lost her ring the day before while outside on her property planting flowers, pulling weeds and doing a general clean-up of the yard. I told her I would be there in several hours and hopped into the truck. Upon arriving at her location I was so immersed in the scenic view from her propriety I almost would have forgotten why I was there, simply a gorgeous view of the Blue Ridge Mountains from her back deck. I was greeted by Georgia upon my arrival and we immediately went to the areas where she thought she may have lost the ring; in the grassy area leading towards the woods where she had been tossing yard waste and then back along the same path towards the back of the house and into a raised garden bed.

I started working in the brush pile first to see if she had maybe lost it while tossing the yard waste into the woods. After a brief search at the surface level I decided I would come back to this area and do a more in depth and expanded search…so we headed towards the back of the house and Georgia explained what she had been doing with planting the flowers and that she had even taken them back out to try to find her ring. I started by search with my Minelab Equinox 800 and immediately started to receive a pulsating rhythm in the tone (found out later there was an electric dog fence in the back-yard which what probably caused the pulsating). I determined I would still be able to hit the desired targets and started the search. I conducted a brief scan in the grass before stepping up into the raised garden bed. A few scans around the flowers and the immediate vicinity I did not locate the ring….then only several feet away and on the surface in the mulch there was Georgia’s beautiful Snowflake Platinum ring shining in the sunlight like a beacon.

Georgia was so excited that I had found her ring so quickly and couldn’t wait to put it back on her finger. I asked if possibly the ring was too large and if that’s why it fell off, but actually she stated for the yard work she had placed it on the opposite hand which her finger on that hand may be a little smaller and made it easier to come off. A lesson not soon lost 🙂

Georgia was simply charming and wonderful to talk to, I was so pleased to be able to return her ring to her today.

I was contacted by a woman that realized her wedding ring went missing. She told me she had recently been in her yard the day prior with damp cold hands raking leaves. She believes her ring may have fallen off during her yard work and wanted a specialist to come do a search for her ring. She lost a single custom made 14k yellow gold wedding band with a solitaire diamond and some tourmalines. She had no inclination of when or where the ring slipped off so after a detailed investigative chat with her I formulated a game plan. I prioritized my areas of search base on the areas she worked in the yard, spent the majority of her time and paid special attention to where she took her work gloves off. Her yard not all that big still had plenty of hiding spots for a dainty wedding ring as any yard does. Knowing that these searches are not always a quick process I wasted no time in getting straight to work clearing areas of interest one after another. After quite a long detailed search process the ring was found in the scariest of places. To think this ring could have been carted off the property for ever. Never a more satisfying feeling than when you recover a precious ring so close to being lost forever! To know we saved another precious wedding ring makes for a great day. The woman was grateful to have received her ring back and I am happy to have been a part of the recovery process. LOST CELL PHONE 11 FOUND IN MORRISVILLE, NC…… FOUND!

I got a call from Dashawn today about his lost cell phone on the side of the road, off an exit. I had to hear this story first hand. He proceeded to tell me, while on his motorcycle, his phone was in his left inside pocket at the time. As he exited off the highway the between his speed and the wind it managed to somehow fly out!!! It went to his right side mind you….. He said, “he had find me follow me” but when he went to find his phone with it, his lost phone died. He was able to connect via bluetooth from his helmet before it died too. So we were able to get an approximate location range of where the phone should be laying.

I agreed to meet him at the location. After about 30 mins and about 30-40 feet, TO THE RIGHT, from where he had exited and lost his phone, His phone was found. He was so happy, excited and very grateful to have the old phone back in his hands!

Lost Gold Ring Found In Warren Michigan

Got a call from Patti who said she lost a ring doing the final yard cleanup when the snow started to come down this morning. She didn’t say what kind of ring it was or where it may be. Texting that I had arrived ahead of schedule I got no return text. I did a visual and noticed the front yard was very small and the back contained many metal yard ornaments and quite a few bags of leaves. I knocked on the door with no answer so I figured the best place to start would be the front yard and that it would be best to start before the weather got worse. The sound of crunchy, crusty snow sounded beneath each step and as it scraped under my coil I received many junk metal signals. Dialing up the discrimination silenced the chatter. Completing the left half of the yard revealed nothing. Starting the search on the right half of the yard under a very aromatic spruce tree I worked carefully not to miss any ground. Exiting the canopy I got a very nice signal of an object at 0 depth. Scraping my pin pointer thru the snow it vibrated at the same time this beautiful custom design gold ring came into view! I was confused as the ring resembled more of a man’s band. Still no response from her I took a couple of pics. As I started up the wheelchair ramp she appeared and I was just about to hold the ring up for her to see when she said thru the door she’d be with me in about 5 minutes. She didn’t know that I had already found a ring and when she did come out I ran towards her saying there’s no need to walk further down the slippery ramp and presented the ring to her! I asked if this was the ring and she said yes! Inquiring about the ring she said it was her late husband’s and she would wear it often and when performing the chores that he once did. She was very happy that the ring was found and mentioned that she really didn’t know where it came off and having it back enables her to still connect with him on many different levels for many more years to come.

I received a txt in the middle of the night from a lady that was requesting help for a set of keys that fell into the marina. Early that next morning I put my magnet fishing kit in my vehicle before heading out for the day. I sent her an early response asking her to call me after getting her day started for a detailed chat. I learned from our conversation that her friend had lost his keys the night before in the early evening. Their dog was walking on the marina dock in a dimly lit area and fell into the water. Mike in his own words attempting to be the super hero tried to grab the dog, lost his balance and as his body went over as he heard a big splash as his feet hit the water. His first reaction was oh crap my cell phone must have gone in but instead it was his ring of keys he had in his hand. He was quick enough to catch the edge of the dock with both hands so only his feet were in the water. As he looked at the dock he remembered staring straight at the dock cleat marking his position precisely. His buddy lifted him safely out of the water, minus all of his important keys.

I agreed to meet up after work around four o’clock that evening for a first attempt with my magnet kit. Mike met me at the dock and we quickly got under way. I deployed my large magnet that was more than sufficient to nab the keys. I even confirmed before arriving on site that his keys had steel split rings. Knowing brass keys are not magnetic its a point of clarification that should always be considered before wasting time with a magnet. I also learned to our advantage he had a small padlock from his sail boat on the keyring as well. I knew the steel shank would be more than enough to stick to my large magnet. Mike was accurate over our phone conversation earlier that morning that the water was around nine to ten feet deep. Knowing this bit of information made since for an attempt to magnet fish the keys. Soon after starting with the magnet I quickly realized there was a lot of structure near this boat slip and it was not an easy flat bottom. Every bit or so I would have to lift the large magnet several feet over an obstacle and let it back down to try to fish is keys out. This was basically a blind search in the fact that we could not see the bottom and don’t know exactly where the keys fell into the water. Everyone heard the splash of the keys but no one eyeballed the exact entry point. Since Mike was not throwing any items from his hands so we felt fairly confident his keys most likely went straight down from where he was dangling from the side of the dock. Even with this drop zone being extensively search with the magnet I was unable to retrieve the keys.

With the darkness of the evening upon us, a bit of Seattle drizzle and cold wind after a full days work we knew we were done for the night. However I reassured Mike I would be out the next morning to do a full SCUBA recovery of his keys. The next morning I was blessed with great weather and calm waters. Lost Gold Ring w/Opal and Diamonds Found In Dexter Michigan

Good Grief!

Lauren and her husband tied the knot last month. Enjoying the beautiful fall colors during an outside photo session her ring fell off. The ring was a very sentimental one that her late father gave her mom when Lauren was born, and now was being passed on to Lauren. There were multiple locations at the facility that they walked visiting the guests. Some terrain was cut grass and some was thick grass. She and mom were devastated and thought it may not be possible to find it. On site I set up my MXT and began a grid search. I got some similar signals to where I thought the ring would be on the meter, but the depth reading revealed these targets were well below the surface. Closing in on the area that covered the area in question I got a nice mellow signal within an inch or so deep and about 1 foot from the edge of the cut grass my pin pointer buzzed. Prying the thick grass apart revealed this very stunning gold ring with a fiery opal and diamonds twinkling in the sun! I was holding it up and with their backs turned to me they turned to see what was happening. They both came running and as she held the ring emotions were high. During the excitement an employee came out to present a nice bottle of champagne from their reception! A celebration was underway along with texting mom to share the great news! All was happy that closure was made and that dad’s legacy can continue for years to come!

Lost Gold Wedding Band at Honu Lagoon Ko Olina Resort…FOUND!!!

This ring find began when I got an email from Justin from Mililani stating he’d lost his white gold wedding band in Honu Lagoon while enjoying some time with kids in the water. He actually saw the ring fall to the bottom in chest deep water and when he went under to retrieve it the waves pushed the sand and his wedding band disappeared. He spent an hour and a half hunting but the ring never reappeared. We agreed to meet this morning at 9AM during the low tide. When I arrived Justine and his father were using a makeshift sifter to try and recover the ring. Justine helped me draw my grid lines in the sand and I started the search. I walked out to neck deep water and then turned around towards the shore. After a few steps I got a loud #13 on the Equinox and in one scoop there was Justin’s ring. Elapsed time 2 minutes. I shouted over to Justin “Found it!” Luckily I started on that side of the grid otherwise it may have taken much longer. Justine and his father were shocked on how quick a recovery it was especially after searching with the sifter for quite some time. Aloha to Justin!

I-Phone Lost In Snow Sherwood Park, Alberta Canada

Ryan e-mailed me this morning asking if I could help him locate his I-phone which he lost yesterday while shovelings snow.  He said he knew the approximate location where his phone was but unfortunately the battery had died and was no longer sending out a signal to locate it on his app (Find My Phone).

I told Ryan I would come out to help him locate his phone.   I met Ryan and he explained to me what he was doing and that the phone could be in a couple of locations in a the snow bank.  After searching the known locations with no luck I searched another area where he said he been throwing snow into the bush.  Safely buried in the snow lay his phone which made Ryan very happy to have the phone back in his possession.

Lost Ring Pinewood Lake Trumbull CT… Found!

Newlyweds Tyler and Chelsea enjoyed a day at Pinewood Lake in Trumbull, Connecticut, when disaster struck. Tyler’s wedding band slipped off his finger, and three weeks of sporting his bling were undone in three seconds. Tyler dove underwater and searched the muddy bottom with a mask, snorkel, and even some neighborhood recruits. Hours later, he realized the ring was lost to the lake.

Tyler found me online, and we set up a phone call to discuss the chances of finding his lost ring. Our biggest hurdle was the depth of the water where he was swimming. Tyler described his ability to touch the bottom with his toes, but his head was not sticking out of the water by much. I knew Tyler was taller than me, so this search would be on the edge of recoverability without using SCUBA gear. Tyler was confident of his location, and we had some dry weather, so it was worth a shot. I arrived and searched as deep as I could in the calm waters, but I never came across the gold ring. As we sat on the edge of the lake discussing the next step, some of the local property owners began talking about the lake being drained every four years. This meant there could be a chance of recovering the ring from the deeper waters, but we would potentially have to wait years for the lake drain to occur. Only a couple of days later, Tyler called me with good news. Draining was planned from the end of September through early November! We made a second appointment during late October to make sure the lake level would be low enough to make a difference in how far out I would be able to search. The conditions were perfect. The only water remaining in the whole section was a single channel running through the area’s center. I arrived and began my second search. I heard a faint squeak about fifty feet away from the area I was searching during the summer. The signal came from the channel, but I immediately thought there is no way this ring fell in the worst possible place. The chances were much better of the ring settling on a nice flat, shallow surface, but I was wrong! I smeared a scoop of channel mud across the ground and saw the outline of a gold ring. I tried to surprise Tyler with the ring, but I think he was on to my shenanigans. Or he is good at containing his emotional reactions because when I showed the ring, he calmly said, “that is it.” I didn’t give up on the surprise. I convinced him to surprise Chelsea.
