Lost Ring 8 Carats of Diamond and Sapphire Eastern Point Beach, Groton CT… Found!
Wayne’s Barber Shop is a contemporary hotspot with the most attention to detail haircut on the east coast. A loss like this one would be devastating to any atmosphere as cool as this one – finding and returning this ring was an extremely important task. One Sunday evening in late July 2017 I received a message from my friend and owner of Wayne’s Barber Shop, Groton, CT regarding his lost ring with a circa 1910 3¾ carat diamond and 2¼ carat sapphires. He was cooling off in the water at Eastern Point Beach, Groton CT when one of his most sentimental pieces of jewelry dropped into the waist-deep water. It took a minute for the reality of losing his ring to sink in. After desperately searching by hand while at the same time trying to avoid drawing the attention of the other beachgoers, he realized the ring was lost. Thinking quickly, he didn’t want to lose the location of the lost ring so he used his foot to mark a line as he exited the water into the dry sand. Getting back to the beach chair, he immediately contacted a couple of different people. He contacted me, sent a message to his brother (who had a mask and snorkel) and he even contacted the ring designer, Mystic Gem Company of Mystic CT. Within the hour we were all standing on the beach together discussing the details of how this very special diamond and sapphire ring was lost. His location on the beach where he entered the water was marked by his line in the sand and the distance off the beach was noted by his memory of the waist-deep water. We determined the tide was going out so the lost ring would be in shallower water at this point. He waited patiently on the beach as his brother finished up the snorkel and mask search and I began searching with a metal detector. With an eager crowd starting to form on the beach, the pressure was on as I retrieved bottle caps, pull tabs, and other items discarded by past beachgoers. After 20 minutes of searching, I pulled a scoop of rocks from the knee-deep water and gently dumped it onto the beach. Someone yelled, “there it is!” I’ve seen a lot of rings, but the ring that rolled out of my scoop this time was the most stunning piece of jewelry I’d ever seen. Another lost ring found and reunited with its owner!

Lost Wedding Ring Was Found In Ocean City NJ

I lost my wedding ring in the Atlantic Ocean this afternoon at 1:45pm.
Unfortunately, Donna asked if I wanted her to hold it for me on the walk down and I said something to the effect of, “Nah. It’s not going to fall off.”
So about 2 minutes in the water and it falls off. I never felt that attached to it other than it being my wedding ring. Until I lost it and I felt terrible. Maybe some of that was the feeling that Donna somehow knew that it was going to happen. We looked for awhile but there was no way we were finding it. Every bump on the floor turned out to be a rock or shell. I paced around for a little bit and then decided just to go home. Then I wondered if there was a site I could post a photo of my ring just in case someone ever found it.
That’s when I stumbled on theringfinders.com. I sent a message on Facebook (2:45pm) and about 5 minutes later, John Favano sent me his phone number to give him a call. At 3:07pm (just checked my phone log) we briefly talked. So now, I was waiting on a guy that may or may not show up and may or may not find a wedding ring in THE Atlantic Ocean if and when he got here. Then, my phone rings, John says that he is at the beach and to come meet him. We are off to a good start all things considered.
All week, we were talking about how small the beach has become over the years but walking over the dune I never remember it seeming so big. There was no chance we were finding it. At least when it is lost for good, I will have the satisfaction that I at least I tried everything I could think of. Donna and I are at the beach with John pointing out where I am pretty sure I lost it. Thanks to the dude that made sand dolphins btw.
John is walking a grid from the beach all the way into the water about chest deep. From the beach into the water…back to the beach and then back into the water. He stopped to dig a few times but nothing. Then he looks up and asks me what my ring looks like. This dude found my ring less than 4 hours after it fell off.
That is unbelievable! Call John Favano!

Low tide hunt… Kayakers wedding ring found!
FOUND IT!
Last week, a kayaker lost his wedding ring after slipping and falling into the bay while launching at the shoreline during low tide. After he and some others tried searching for it this week with no success, I hit the beach this weekend to try my best to reunite him with with his precious ring.
Good information is key to a successful hunt, and I asked him to get some satellite photos where he was, and circle the place he thought it could be. I headed to the beach before I got any answer, and searched anyway. I did my best to guess based on other factors, where I thought it could be.
I hunted for some time before I realized I missed the email, and he had sent me info and pictures that were key to finding it.
He wrote: “I will say another ring finder did a search of the area on Thursday and was unable to find anything. The tide at this beach is enormous. Probably 80ish feet of beach disappears at high tide. Looks like low tide is at 3:48pm this afternoon, if you do still want to look. I will attach some images that may help. The image with the green kayak at the shoreline is where I slipped and it must have come off my finger. But the tide could have taken it anywhere. The big tree stump doesn’t seem to move as well as the flat and curved driftwood I highlight in the image. I was between these two landmarks circled in red at the shoreline where you can see the other kayak in the background. The ring is made of palladium by the way, a member of the platinum family. The tide was somewhere around midway between high and low when I fell in. It will be much further out, as you will see, at 3:48 than it was in this photo.”
He also provided me with a crucial picture that he had taken that day. In it you can see the area he launched from, and some static landmarks.
After hunting another 45 mins or so, I FOUND IT!

Diamond Rings Lost and Found Cardiff Beach
TheRingfinders Metal Detectors has helped reunite a wedding ring set with their owners. What a miracle behind the story for this search recoverying such precious stones that contains a Large sentimental piece of monetarily valued metals and gemstones.
July 17th I noticed an add online in the San Diego Lost and found while googling. A lady who lost her wedding ring on or near Cardiff beach had needed some dire help.I emailed her to see if there was a chance myself Curtis Cox/a Member of TheRingFinders could help find this with a Metal detector and if it could be simply buried in the sand at one of many places the rings could of been lost during that particular day. She emailed me back right away and asked me what I charge and some details of when/where the rings could of disappeared. I replied to her with the honesty of what I do and The link to Theringfinders sight where I have many story’s of successful recovery’s to read.
I have rescued many Rings for Free especially for The military and ALL service members who protect and serve our Great Country. I do not have a charge to help, Sometimes I am offered a reward,Tip,Present or any Gratuity they can afford but No matter the Cost,I Volunteer my time regardless of the dollar figure,Item lost. I am blessed with very good Karma in addition to the Piece of mind that comes with in these hunts.
Later that day Brenda and I had chose a good time to meet that afternoon plus to rule out if these rings may of still been naturally buried in the wet/dry sand or lost along the roadway in the city where they had walked.
After going over fine details of where,when and how it was lost I prepared to get my feet wet and started in the most pro dominant area where it may have fell first,The waters edge where they moved a wagon and belonging’s after the High tide was moving in.
Roughly 20min after brenda headed home with her newborn in the hot sun I had dug up an obvious pennie sound,Then after a similar but distinctive tone 6-8″ deep in wet sand just happened to be a tiny 14k band loaded with diamonds.I emediatly sent her a picture asking if she had lost 1 or 2 rings?? I did not know she had lost 2 rings until Brenda responded via text there was Two..and I had just found the band…Oh wow. Extatic we both may of been so I geared up my equipment again and scanned 3′ from the first ring and heard a crystal clear familiar sound then dug up the Main Motherload diamond ring!
I contacted Brenda with the good news & she drove back down there with a big Smile.😀.
I hope one day the world will know there are Metal detecting guys From Theringfinders all over the globe out there with a generously big heart and the skills needed to help locate and return your lost Precious Ring.

Got another call today, lost 1ct diamond engagement ring at the beach.
After about an hour of hunting hit it, the look on her face when I pulled it up made it worth it!!
Lost wedding ring in The Lake Of The Ozarks
So, the amazing wasp sting was not the only excitement from the 4th! The final chapter was closed today – and E and I can breathe a sigh of relief.
On Saturday, July 1, the day could not have started off any better, kids playing and getting along. Then Stacy Van Iten, Bob, and myself heard the “oh no!” from Erica. Drop…..splash……in goes her wedding ring, to the bottom of the lake of the ozarks! Lucky for us, it was less than 10′ under the dock. Unlucky for us, it was Ozark water.
No sweat, we have insurance. I looked for it with a colander for a while sifting through inches of leaves, nothing. We tried a magnet, no luck. We had an offer to wait till the water recedes and use a metal detector – good plan! We go on about our weekend with great friends.
Fast forward to July 3, we are on our way home, and reality set in. The ring meant more to us than a replacement, the engagement, the wedding, and the anniversary band! Tears started flowing down her cheek – I had to do more.
I called the local dive shop and hired them to dive down to search for it. I drove all the way home, turned around and drove back down to the lake to meet the diver in the morning of July 4th. JJ went down with scuba gear with no luck – over an 1.5 hour dive.
I was disheartened, but needed to do more. I get on https://theringfinders.com/ and search for all the individuals listed in MO: called and talked to a gentleman in Lee’s Summit, Warrensburg, and Cape Girardeau. It was only when I spoke to Paul J. Miederhoff that I was assured he could find it. He actually told me “piece of cake” and to tell Erica he will find her ring! Wow – let’s do it I thought!
On July 5th, Paul starts his journey to the lake. He arrives and it is raining so he waits a while. He dives for 2 hours with a metal detector no luck. Since he was so far away, I agreed to get him a hotel. He text me that night saying he would find it in the morning, “I am confident” he reassures me. At this point, erica and I were planning for the worse case scenario – buying a new ring.
On July 6th, Paul again show up to start the search. He dives and pulls of plenty of debris, nuts, and bolts. I go about my day at work, in meetings here and there. I walk back to my desk and my phone is ringing, it was Bob. I thought he was calling to tell me that Paul was done and they could not find it. He asks me “did I get his text” I said “what text?” He asked me to check to see if it was the ring, I was absolutely blown away – THEY FOUND IT!
A gentleman I had never met before, not paid a dollar – drove over 200 miles to search for a wedding ring that plunged into LOZ! “Piece of Cake” Paul saved a really important piece of “us”!

I know you must be a busy person and probably get lots of emails but I hope you take the time to read this one.
I am writing you to thank you for starting “The ring finders”! Well I really can’t thank you enough! Last weekend I had the privilege of working with someone in your organization and I would like to share my experience with you and pretty much anyone else that will listen!
Last Saturday My husband, 2 children and I went to a family members house that lives on lakefront property. I have a 6 year old son and 2 year old daughter. Neither of them can swim and I didn’t anticipate getting in the water. We were just going down for the fireworks and I thought we may have time for a boat ride. However, there were other family members there along with their children and they did get into the water. The other children were running and jumping into the lake when all of a sudden my son (I assume was trying to fit in with the older kids) ran and jumped in as well! Like I said, I was not planning on getting in the water so I was still fully clothed with my jewelry & everything when my son jumped in. I instantly jumped in after him and when I was making my way to my son, I felt my wedding ring slide off the tip of my finger but I kept going because I had to save my son!
After I did get my son, I cried hysterically to my husband about my ring and he had everyone get out of the water in hopes that he could find it since I had a pretty good idea of where I was when it came off. I was in about 5 foot of water and it was a very murky lake with mud, rocks & seashells all along the bottom. My husband looked until the sun went down while I looked after our kids but he had no luck. We cried the whole way home that night and basically told each other we knew it was hopeless to look for it but we couldn’t live knowing we didn’t try everything we could to find it.
This ring meant more to me than any other possession I’ve ever owned! My husband had purchased it before we had children and there was no way we could have financially replaced it living paycheck to paycheck like we do now. My husband told me that night he was heart broken that I didn’t have a ring to wear anymore. I felt so guilty for losing it though, I didn’t even feel I deserved a ring! It was more than just a financial thing though! That was my wedding ring! It was a ring my husband had created and designed all himself, it was the ring he purposed to me with, the one he exchanged vows to me with and I never took it off. The thought of living without it was absolutely devastating! I was physically ill over it and it was the worst day of my life!
My husband decided to go back down to the lake in the morning with an under water metal detector he was able to borrow from his grandpa. I had to stay behind with our kids and I felt so helpless! All I had done was cry and pray! I had never prayed so much in my life!
As I sat and cried I thought I could do some research online & maybe some how help. I am the type of person that googles everything! I remember thinking how stupid it was to google “how to find a ring in a lake” because it was impossible! To my surprise I came across videos of you doing just that! I was then desperate to find you so I went to your website and then realized there were ring finders all over the world. I was able to find Paul Miederhoff in Cape Girardeau Mo! It was 8:00 in the morning on a Sunday though. My husband then called me and said he couldnt get his metal detector working so i panicked and called Mr. Miederhoff! To my suprise he answered his phone at 8 in the morning on a Sunday. I told him what happened and he dropped everything he had planned that day immediately and drove 100 miles on a holiday weekend which also happened to be his wedding anniversary and jumped in a lake to look for my ring! I couldn’t believe someone would do that for me, a complete stranger! I had called him at 8 AM and he was in the lake by noon! He told me he would find my ring and to be honest I didn’t think it was possible but I figured we had to try! Within 30 minutes of being in the lake, he did in fact find it! I couldn’t believe it! I was so happy, I fell to the floor crying! I am incredibly grateful to you for starting this organization and to Paul for what he did! I had no clue there was anyone that offered this type of service. When I prayed to find my ring, I didn’t realize God would literally send me an angel to answer my prayers! That’s the only explanation I have! I’ve never met anyone so selfless and caring, Paul must really be an angel! I will be eternally grateful to him for what he did and I just had to share my story with you as I can’t sing his praises enough! There really are no words for what he did for me! I don’t know if there is anything I can do for you or him but I would love to write a review or testimonial or anything else I can do! I just can’t say enough great things about him! Not only did he give me back my most priceless possession but just the fact that he dropped everything and came to my rescue like some kind of super hero! I’m still in amazement! I have taken over a week to write this email just because I can’t find the words to express my gratitude! To be honest, I don’t know if I could have went on with my day to day life and functioned without my ring, I feel like when he found my ring, he also kept me from going down into a dark depression! Well I hope you have read this whole email and see how Paul was able to represent you and your company! I truly believe he is an angel that was sent to answer my prayers and I can’t thank you both enough! Mens band RECOVERED!
Received a call July 3rd for a lost gold wedding band that was dropped in the surf on July 2nd in the afternoon. After about an hour long hunt I was able to recover the 16 yr old band. Client, as well as his wife, was thrilled to have his band back on his finger!
