Lost Diamond Ring Found in the Sand! Watch Hill, Rhode Island

  • from Stonington (Connecticut, United States)

A lost diamond ring was found in the sand in Watch Hill, Rhode Island! A Family was visiting the beach and was using the local facilities when disaster struck. The wife was shaking water off her hands as she walked through the sandy area when the ring flew off. Some hobbyist metal detectors happened to be walking by and tried to help out. The hobbyists found some metal trash but no ring. The family had already left town, so this was a remote search. Through maps and photos, I was able to locate the general area. Then, I found some marks in the sand that were obvious to me someone was dragging their fingers through the sand (check out the YouTube video below to see the marks). The finger marks in the sand helped me narrow down the exact area, and the search began. I found a bit of typical beach trash and had to adjust my metal detector to adapt to large metal objects under the sand and some electrical interference. I eventually came across a small signal that sounded promising. A thin diamond band emerged from the sand as I swept my metal detector across the surface. With a quick Facetime call, I let the family know the lost ring was found and met up to return the ring shortly after!

Lost Wedding Ring Found in the Sand! Watch Hill, RI Westerly, RI

  • from Stonington (Connecticut, United States)

A lost ring was found in Watch Hill RI! This sentimental wedding ring was lost while a family was taking their annual visit to the Westerly RI beaches. Dad took off the ring put sunscreen on and dropped the ring in the sand. They didn’t realize the ring was missing for quite some time. But when they did, this was a painful loss as the ring contained a diamond from his late parents’ engagement ring and a diamond from another sentimental piece of jewelry. The family had lots of photos and descriptions from their day at the beach so I was able to find the general location. After a few hours and finding bottle caps and other beach trash, under my metal detector, I saw the distinct round outline of a wedding ring in the sand! I knew this was a unique wedding band so as soon as I brushed the sand off and saw the two diamonds, I knew I had the lost ring. I immediately sent a photo to the family and they were ecstatic! Check out the surprise reaction in the video link below!

Disney Earring Lost at Watch Hill Beach, Westerly RI… Found!

  • from Stonington (Connecticut, United States)

Surf lessons turned ugly when an 8-year-old lost her Disney earring. Jeff was teaching his daughter how to surf on a sunny evening at Watch Hill Beach just outside the Ocean House. Unknown to Jeff, the daughter’s friend must have placed an earring on the top of the surfboard near a large piece of driftwood. By the time Jeff grabbed the board, it was already too late. The child’s earring was lost in the sand. Losing a Disney earring can quickly suck the fun out of any activity. I know this because this is the second time I have found a lost Mickey Mouse earring from “The Happiest Place On Earth,” and the owners are always heartbroken when the loss happens.

Jeff approached me the lost earring story as I was finishing up an engagement ring search. Luckily Jeff had the other earring, so I was able to run a test and identify the metal detector tone of the lost earring. Once I was familiar with the sound, I started to search. The pressure was on as the 8-year-old children watched my every move. Searching around a large piece of driftwood where the surfers hang out, I held the lost Disney earring within the first couple of minutes of searching. The group of onlookers was in shock. They felt the likelihood of finding such a small lost item in the sand was low, which made the surprise so special.

“An 8-year-old placed an earring on my surfboard without telling me, and I moved my surfboard. Fortunately, Keith was in the area and volunteered his services to help the child that lost the earring. The greatest joy when it was found was by me since I am the one that dragged my daughter’s friend to the beach, and I felt responsible for the lost earring. We had given up when Keith came by and tracked it down in about 5 minutes. A happy ending to a stressful surf session” – Jeff

Lost Ring Ocean House, Watch Hill, RI… Found!

  • from Stonington (Connecticut, United States)

A beachgoer lost his heirloom wedding band in front of Ocean House, Watch Hill, RI early May 2018. By the time he realized his ring was forgotten on his beach towel, it was already too late. Digging in the sand with your hands to retrieve a ring is a near-impossible task. However, when your deeply value possession disappears, you have to try something! After a good hand digging effort he thought his lost ring was gone forever…

The gentleman reached out to local lifeguards and other resources, eventually, he came across a referral of my services from a 2016 ring find at Westerly Town Beach. After quickly discussing the details surrounding the lost ring, my wife Allie and I rushed down to the Watch Hill Beach in front of Ocean House to see if we could find it. The gentleman brought us to the location where he remembered placing his towel the previous morning. Allie and I began to search with high hopes. Check out Allies story below to find out what it’s like seeing that gold in the sand… Which means someone will be reunited with the heirloom that was lost forever!

“Today I found my first ring! Keith has reunited so many with their lost treasures and today I found his why. It was such a beautiful moment and one I will remember for a lifetime. His wedding band had been passed down from his grandfather, inscribed with the wedding dates of his grandparents and parents! Beautiful! My heart is so full, it feels like it could explode.”

Another lost ring found and reunited with its owner!

Testimonial from Nate Kirk:

“Miracles are possible. If 6 stars were possible I’d give them 6 stars! My lost item was a grandfather’s wedding ring (engraved with his wedding date). I had taken my ring off, put it on my towel to go for a swim (and not lose it while swimming). When I got home, my heart sank when I realized it was “probably” at the beach. I placed a call to Kieth and he asked a few thoughtful questions and arrived in 20minutes. His wife was with him (they both had equipment) and she found the ring in 15min. I cannot express how grateful I am that they found it. He was extremely professional and efficient (pics attached).”
