I got a text message the other day in regards to Lost Ring at Locarno Beach Vancouver. I quickly called Maya to discuss the search and found out that she had taken the ring off and put it in your shorts pocket while she went for a swim, when she got out of the water she put on her shorts and didn’t realize till later that the ring was missing.

This has been happening a lot lately, people taking off the rings to keep them safe then forgetting and the ring falling out of her pocket or out of the shoe, very common. I found out that she had lost it the day before which always is a concern that somebody might beat me to it. When I arrived and started my search I quickly started finding pieces of iron, bottle caps ,and pull tabs so I was confident we had a good chance of finding it.

Maya also told me that she was going to dinner that night at her boyfriends parents place and it was her boyfriend’s mother who gave her the ring, so you can imagine how important it was that she had the ring on when she went there for dinner.

After 10 minutes I found her beautiful ring, I went to surprise her and my camera was full and I had no space to make the video I tried to do it on my GoPro I have to edit and see if I have enough footage to show you… the most important thing is we found her ring and her smile

Lost a ring? Don’t wait to call! 215-850-0188 Nicole lost her engagement ring in the sand in Cape May, New Jersey. The ring fell out of the cup holder in her chair. After she realized it was missing, she searched the area but could not find it. Then she reached out to fellow Ringfinder Jeff Laag who was unavailable at the moment, so he referred her to me. I searched a quick grid pattern and the ring was recovered.

Testimonial from Angie on my facebook page!

“I had such an amazing experience today when John and his friend Rich came to look for my ring! I had lost all hope I’ve had someone else come to search for it before and I had such low expectations. I was just going to try it as a last resort but gosh am I glad I did! They started searching and I was watching for a bit just to see if they would get anything quickly. I then went to the grocery store with the kiddos because I needed to grab a few things. Rich texted me to see if I was coming back soon and told him I was checking out at the register. Came home and John told me that rich wanted to ask me a question. I said of course with baby in hand walking down the yard I saw John turn his GoPro on and at first I was kind confused then I come down and Rich walks up and asks to see my picture of my ring again. Then as soon as I show him he goes looks a lot like this one doesn’t it? And I full blown cried. I am so thankfully for them today. They did an absolutely amazing job and I am so beyond thankful. I cannot express it enough!! These guys will find it if you can’t! I promise you! Thank you again so much.”

Gold Ring lost at Kai Iwi Lakes – Found!

  • from Paihia (New Zealand)

Back at Kai Iwi for the second time in three days for another lost ring. Thanks to Halley sending me a detailed video clip taken on the day, I was able to save him the three hour trip back up from Auckland.
I was a little concerned seeing evidence of metal detector activity from the last couple of days, and despite their tracks walking right past the ring, they had missed it!

This where the experience and skills of Ringfinders comes in, with patience and a disciplined approach to ensure 95%+ coverage of the loss area.

As a result, just after sunrise I had the ring in the scoop. I sent a photo of it to a very relieved Halley, followed by a quick swim to celebrate, and headed home.

Gold medal found by Theringfinder member

Contact:

A few weeks ago I was detecting on my favorite beach – Barra da Tijuca, on my favorite spot – Praia do Pepê, when a couple approached and asked me if I could help them find a gold medal they had lost a few minutes before. They told me they were tourists from the capital, Brasilia, were enjoying their visit to Rio a lot but the loss of that medal was a real drawback.

He said he had lifted his wife in the air but in the process her hand got tangled in his necklace and it snaped, sending his gold chain and medal flying through the air. They found the chain but not the medal.

As they had a good idea where it had landed, it did not take me long to find it. When I picked it from the scoop (after seeing bottle caps, pull tabs, coins and even a small metal toy  car be pulled out of it) they got elated to say the least.  Being responsible for that big smile and that strong hug is priceless.

I love my hobby.

Wedding band lost in volleyball sand court

Contact:

Almost in the end of winter here in Rio de Janeiro, I received a call from Leo. He had lost his wedding band playing volleyball on a sand court.

When I got there I was met by him and his adorable wife who were really upset about the loss.

He told me he was pretty sure he had lost it on the side of the court we were standing. Actually he could swear he had seen it  flying from his finger. I spent about an hour searching that side of it and found from rusted nails to a small religious silver medal, but no ring.

Going to the other side of it, swinging my coil randomly to start, within minutes I had his wedding band inside my scoop. The couple  was more than happy to have it back. Afterwards the told me they really did not believe it could ever be found.

Another happy ending for a happy couple.

I was approached by Adriana’s father and he asked if could help find his daughters lost silver claddagh ring. She had taken the ring off and placed it in her backpack and then went to get something out of the bag and the ring fell out. The ring is now back on the finger.

Today you made what seemed to me like the impossible happen!

  • from North Wildwood (New Jersey, United States)

Dear John,
Today you made what seemed to me like the impossible happen. The little diamond moon charm that meant so much to me and my sister and was no bigger than my pinkie fingernail is in my hand.
When my sister’s necklace broke and the charm fell into the sand yesterday, we hunted for over an hour with no luck. Then a wonderful 8-year-old girl we didn’t know saw us looking and offered her help. She and her brother and father used their metal detector and sieve for at least another hour before we all decided that we had to let it go.
But I don’t let things go that easily, so when I got home, I went online and found your website. When I called, you were calm and confident. you said that if the charm was there, we would find it.
The phrase “needle in a haystack” kept running through my mind on my way to meet you. The beach is so big and the sand can bury something that small so easily, never to be seen again.
But once I was able to show you the area where the charm had fallen, it was only a matter of minutes before you turned up the spot of sand where the little charm lay, still partially buried, but sparkling in the sun. What a happy moment! I will never forget it.
Your calm, confident patience were just what was needed for the job, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for making what seemed like the impossible happen.
Sandra
