Keys and phone recovered at Torrey Pines State Beach

  • from La Jolla (California, United States)

Elisebeth was enjoying a day at the beach and buried her keys and phone in the sand under her blanket for safe keeping. When the tide started to come in and getting close to her blanket, someone moved it to higher ground, but, didn’t know about the keys and phone. Later when she was ready to leave, she realized her blanket wasn’t in it’s original location. The water had washed over the old area and she couldn’t locate the exact spot to retrieve her belongings. After a Google search and finding me on TheRingFinders.com website, we agreed to meet and conduct a search. Before we started, I mentioned that the phone and maybe her car fob may have been ruined by the salt water, but, she wanted them anyway. After showing me the search area, I started a grid right in the middle of it. After expanding out a couple of passes in each direction, I got a big signal that just had to be it. Sure enough, with just one scoop, up comes her keys and phone. Thankfully, she had the presence of mind to (previously unknown to me) put her items in a sealed plastic bag. Inside, everything was still nice and dry and working. A happy Elisebeth headed home with a smile on her face and not confronted with the ordeal of having to replace everything. A pleasure to meet you and thank you for the reward.

Low tide hunt… Kayakers wedding ring found!

  • from Seattle (Washington, United States)

FOUND IT!

Last week, a kayaker lost his wedding ring after slipping and falling into the bay while launching at the shoreline during low tide. After he and some others tried searching for it this week with no success, I hit the beach this weekend to try my best to reunite him with with his precious ring.

Good information is key to a successful hunt, and I asked him to get some satellite photos where he was, and circle the place he thought it could be. I headed to the beach before I got any answer, and searched anyway. I did my best to guess based on other factors, where I thought it could be.

I hunted for some time before I realized I missed the email, and he had sent me info and pictures that were key to finding it.

He wrote: “I will say another ring finder did a search of the area on Thursday and was unable to find anything. The tide at this beach is enormous. Probably 80ish feet of beach disappears at high tide. Looks like low tide is at 3:48pm this afternoon, if you do still want to look. I will attach some images that may help. The image with the green kayak at the shoreline is where I slipped and it must have come off my finger. But the tide could have taken it anywhere. The big tree stump doesn’t seem to move as well as the flat and curved driftwood I highlight in the image. I was between these two landmarks circled in red at the shoreline where you can see the other kayak in the background. The ring is made of palladium by the way, a member of the platinum family. The tide was somewhere around midway between high and low when I fell in. It will be much further out, as you will see, at 3:48 than it was in this photo.”

He also provided me with a crucial picture that he had taken that day. In it you can see the area he launched from, and some static landmarks.

After hunting another 45 mins or so, I FOUND IT!

Remember, time is of the essence when it comes to finding your precious belongings! Don’t give up hope, and give me a call or email me please! I want to help you find your rings, and your smiles!

Good info was the key!

Lowtide success!

Lost Wedding ring in Timberline Lake Mo.

  • from Cape Girardeau (Missouri, United States)

Wedding ring lost in Lake Timberline Mo.

Hi Chris,
I know you must be a busy person and probably get lots of emails but I hope you take the time to read this one.
I am writing you to thank you for starting “The ring finders”! Well I really can’t thank you enough! Last weekend I had the privilege of working with someone in your organization and I would like to share my experience with you and pretty much anyone else that will listen!
Last Saturday My husband, 2 children and I went to a family members house that lives on lakefront property. I have a 6 year old son and 2 year old daughter. Neither of them can swim and I didn’t anticipate getting in the water. We were just going down for the fireworks and I thought we may have time for a boat ride. However, there were other family members there along with their children and they did get into the water. The other children were running and jumping into the lake when all of a sudden my son (I assume was trying to fit in with the older kids) ran and jumped in as well! Like I said, I was not planning on getting in the water so I was still fully clothed with my jewelry & everything when my son jumped in. I instantly jumped in after him and when I was making my way to my son, I felt my wedding ring slide off the tip of my finger but I kept going because I had to save my son!
After I did get my son, I cried hysterically to my husband about my ring and he had everyone get out of the water in hopes that he could find it since I had a pretty good idea of where I was when it came off. I was in about 5 foot of water and it was a very murky lake with mud, rocks & seashells all along the bottom. My husband looked until the sun went down while I looked after our kids but he had no luck. We cried the whole way home that night and basically told each other we knew it was hopeless to look for it but we couldn’t live knowing we didn’t try everything we could to find it.
This ring meant more to me than any other possession I’ve ever owned! My husband had purchased it before we had children and there was no way we could have financially replaced it living paycheck to paycheck like we do now. My husband told me that night he was heart broken that I didn’t have a ring to wear anymore. I felt so guilty for losing it though, I didn’t even feel I deserved a ring! It was more than just a financial thing though! That was my wedding ring! It was a ring my husband had created and designed all himself, it was the ring he purposed to me with, the one he exchanged vows to me with and I never took it off. The thought of living without it was absolutely devastating! I was physically ill over it and it was the worst day of my life!
My husband decided to go back down to the lake in the morning with an under water metal detector he was able to borrow from his grandpa. I had to stay behind with our kids and I felt so helpless! All I had done was cry and pray! I had never prayed so much in my life!
As I sat and cried I thought I could do some research online & maybe some how help. I am the type of person that googles everything! I remember thinking how stupid it was to google “how to find a ring in a lake” because it was impossible! To my surprise I came across videos of you doing just that! I was then desperate to find you so I went to your website and then realized there were ring finders all over the world. I was able to find Paul Miederhoff in Cape Girardeau Mo! It was 8:00 in the morning on a Sunday though. My husband then called me and said he couldnt get his metal detector working so i panicked and called Mr. Miederhoff! To my suprise he answered his phone at 8 in the morning on a Sunday. I told him what happened and he dropped everything he had planned that day immediately and drove 100 miles on a holiday weekend which also happened to be his wedding anniversary and jumped in a lake to look for my ring! I couldn’t believe someone would do that for me, a complete stranger! I had called him at 8 AM and he was in the lake by noon! He told me he would find my ring and to be honest I didn’t think it was possible but I figured we had to try! Within 30 minutes of being in the lake, he did in fact find it! I couldn’t believe it! I was so happy, I fell to the floor crying! I am incredibly grateful to you for starting this organization and to Paul for what he did! I had no clue there was anyone that offered this type of service. When I prayed to find my ring, I didn’t realize God would literally send me an angel to answer my prayers! That’s the only explanation I have! I’ve never met anyone so selfless and caring, Paul must really be an angel! I will be eternally grateful to him for what he did and I just had to share my story with you as I can’t sing his praises enough! There really are no words for what he did for me! I don’t know if there is anything I can do for you or him but I would love to write a review or testimonial or anything else I can do! I just can’t say enough great things about him! Not only did he give me back my most priceless possession but just the fact that he dropped everything and came to my rescue like some kind of super hero! I’m still in amazement! I have taken over a week to write this email just because I can’t find the words to express my gratitude! To be honest, I don’t know if I could have went on with my day to day life and functioned without my ring, I feel like when he found my ring, he also kept me from going down into a dark depression! Well I hope you have read this whole email and see how Paul was able to represent you and your company! I truly believe he is an angel that was sent to answer my prayers and I can’t thank you both enough! Please let me know if there is any way in the future that I can recommend your services or just share my experience with others.

Thank you,
Kimberly

Stunning platinum & diamond ring recovered with help of Cyril, The Treasure Hunting Dog!

Platinum & Diamond Ring Recovered!

Beautiful Engagement Ring Found!

Today I received an urgent request from Melody, who lost her engagement ring over the weekend. Luckily I was able to rush out to look as soon as we spoke. Me and the dog hit the road!

Me and the treasure dog, Cyril, teamed up to search. He seemed more interested in eating grass and rolling around in smelly stuff than looking for diamonds, but I still consider him my lucky charm. After a short hunt… SUCCESS!!!

Melody did the right thing by reaching out for my help promptly, after searching… with no success, for her beautiful platinum and diamond ring. She provided me with the details that my detector and I needed to quickly find her ring in a highly trafficked area, where it could have been “lost” forever if someone found it before us. Time is of the essence when it comes to recovering lost jewelry!

Not every search is a success, so it was great confidence booster to happily reunite Melody with this important, beautiful ring! And Cyril couldn’t care less!

Lost Ring in Breaux Bridge, LA. – FOUND

Bridgette lost her ring at an RV park near Lafayette. She was playing volleyball at the time. After she, her husband and several friends searched the court without success, they looked for expert help. At first, her husband had a hard time believing people really do look for other’s lost jewelry. After he accepted the fact, he called Sid.  Sid was heading out of town, so he had him call Carrie to help out. Carrie enlisted her son, James to help her. James had been on only one other hunt with her, finding his first and only pull tab. It had rained during the night and there was more volleyball played on the court, probably driving the ring deeper.

Carrie and James took the 30 minute drive to the site. After clearing security, getting a description of the ring (a white gold, antiqued diamond ring) from Bridgette and answering questions from other park guests, many of whom had helped search the night before, Carrie and James began. The area was real clean and within 10 minutes, James got his first strong signal. Four inches down was the ring. The look on Bridgette’s, and James’, faces were priceless. Way to go James. I don’t think we will have any trouble getting James to help us again. Thank you Bridgette for the generous reward. This helps us continue to put smiles on people’s faces. By the way, this was Carrie’s turn to find only a pull tab.

Back Mid January Kenneth lost this wedding ring on the side of the road. He searched several times with no success. On Tuesday April 4th Kenneth emailed me

Hello! I’m afraid it’s been a couple months since this ring was lost but we were a little more confident than we should have been when we first dropped it. Out in deep cove a (I believe) white gold Band was dropped at the side of the road. I’m a little worried it may have been carried a ways by melting snow or rain, but I’m not sure how plausible that is. Its a rarely used section, we occasionally have someone park there, not more than a couple times per month.

I’m aware of roughly a 5×5 area I think it was initially dropped, but have been told by many people that white gold isn’t easy to detect. I’m mostly wanting to know how possible this could be after some time and with the metal involved, would love to pay someone good at this to find it instead of continuing to struggle.

I made arrangements with Kenneth to search today, by 10:05 am I was on site and started to search and within an hour I was able to send Kenneth a picture of his recovered ring.

Love my Job.

Lost ring in Kaplan, LA – Found

Ashley called on December 22. Her husband, Rahn,  lost his wedding band, while working in the yard. Carrie and I were in California, spending time with the grandkids, so we set the 28th for the hunt. We arrived back from California and went the next day to FIND THE RING. Rahn had worked in the back yard but security camera footage showed the ring still on his finger as he left to do front yard work. He next went to the front yard to clean grass from three grated yard drains. The grass was tossed to the side and the ring may have left his finger with that motion. Carrie and I each hunted around a separate drain with no luck. I went to the third and final drain. The metal grating had caused problems searching the others but I got a strong signal a foot from this drain, far enough for the metal grating to not interfere. Buried in the grass was the prize. Ashley was beyond excited. It was a pleasure reuniting Rahn with his beautiful ring. Thank you for your generous reward. This allows us to continue providing our services.

Lost Ring In Prairieville, LA – Found

Rosetto called me on Tuesday. She had lost her husband’s diamond and tungsten carbide wedding band the day before. They had searched the yard without success. I questioned her on the loss. “Where do you think the ring is?” “It’s either in our yard, the neighbor’s yard or in the tree.” “The tree??” “I was really mad at him”.  Being 2 hours away, I told her I’d look at my work schedule and the weather and get back to her. I found an opening on Friday with neither rain nor work. Carrie and I arrived at Rosetto’s house and had her throw flagged test washers. All three washers hit the tree branches and fell within a foot of each other. Within 10 minutes of searching, Carrie had a good signal (80 on the AT PRO) and found the ring close to where the washers dropped.  Another very happy client. We accepted a generous reward after telling her, “We are  lucky you throw like a girl.“
