I received a call from Marissa regarding a Ring that was lost in a man made lake during a wedding the day before.
Uh-Oh! After a few questions & concerns we decided the best time to perform a search was 7:30am the next morning.She was able to get permission while I signed some insurance wavers needed because this specific location was a privately owned Lakeside Wedding estate at a remote area of Fallbrook Ca.

Upon arriving to the scene of the lost ring, I met Marissa and the Owner who had lent his precious heirloom Platinum/Gold band for the Wedding ceremony.They showed me where it was last seen falling into the abyssal lake along the edge amongst a solid boulder retaining wall. Fortunately I brought a tape measure & the depth was only chest to shoulder deep so I geared up my equipment then down into the murky mucky water I went seeking into fish poop and clam shells…!
Along with a first chilling morning in San Diego shakingly cold,,The biggest obstacle I had on this type of search is the area where the ring had flown off too had contained many large boulders from the edge of the water retreating out nearly 4 feet.

I began searching and was able too clear the targets in this short 6’X6’ zone with the first machine I used,A Whites Dual field waterproof Metal Detector.I did find 1 Quarter,2 dimes along with a bit of trash but no ring! So I switched Detectors with another pulse induction machine that is NOT hard wired & I Previously modified it for diving along with a small coil to get between nooks and crannies for these few calls.

“I do detect ambiguity in this section of the act” This search is still active⚠️…
Though, I may fail from giving up!

I quickly began the second grid search while hearing multiple signals of Non ferrous Metals in between and around the boulders using the tip of my 6 inch coil?! I then began scooping and scooping in Zero visibility water while dumping the piles out with help from the owner of the ring. After being certain I was chasing my tale on all these many potential targets lodged between the boulders, I decided to check the piles of black muck I scooped up and dumped up above..The first pile I swung over I could hear a conductive non ferrous metal when I unveiled it to be only just a penny. The second pile was the sound of a holy nickel….But it was only,,,,, Actually…..
THE PRECIOUS RING  😁 🙏 !

I couldn’t help but cheer and smile with them. This kind of excitement is thrilling plus the story behind this lost Heirloom ring will Live forever & ever again.

What I’ve learned on many types of calls has kept me ahead in better preparation for providing the best equipment and know how on How to find your lost ring.

Palladium wedding ring , lost on Repulse bay beach , Hong Kong , reunited with owner .

 Whilst visiting Repulse bay beach with friends the day before, her husband had asked Clare to look after his wedding ring while he went  swimming in the sea , this she did by putting his wedding band on one of her fingers , however in due course the ring slipped off her finger into the sand , they searched the area as best they could , even using the lights on their phones as it got dark , Clare contacted me through the Ring finders web page ,we arranged to meet on Repulse beach the early the following morning .

I met Clare on the beach and after showing me the area she thought the ring had been dropped in , I started detecting with my ATPro , after numerous coins , ring pulls , tabs and bottle tops etc  , eventually I hit a target that showed up as 56 on my meter , and there in my sand scoop was Clares husbands wedding ring  , the look of joy on Clare’s face said it all , yet another ring reunited with its owner thanks to ring finders .

Lost Gold Wedding Band at Duke Kahanamoku Lagoon Waikiki…FOUND!!!

This ring find began when I got a call from Ondrej from Albany New York who just got married in Hawaii. After the wedding while swimming with his lovely bride Tamara in the Duke Kahanamoku Lagoon at the Hilton Hawaiian Village his ring came off in about 7 feet of water. This lagoon is used by guests constantly and if you don’t get there early it gets completely silted up to the point of zero visibility. Also that depth requires scuba to do a thorough search. We agreed to meet the next morning at 6:30 to be sure to beat the crowd. When I arrived the next morning Ondrej & I were shocked to see the lagoon was more then half way drained for cleaning. The seven foot depth area was now only waist deep at the most. The orientation was way off to determine whereabouts they were swimming but we made a best guess and I started a grid search. I didn’t bring my scoop as I fully intended to do this hunt on scuba. I had my waterproof pin-pointer to help with my hand retrieval. After about 30 minutes and a few coin targets I got a nice tone on my Excal. I started pin-pointing and in the waist deep and crystal clear water the probe pushed the ring up from the silt and the rising sun glinted off the gold. Awesome I thought no scoop required. I reached in pulled out the ring and asked Ondrej, “Is this your ring?” Utter amazement as Ondrej and Tamara each gave me a hug. As often as this happens it means so much. Honeymoon saved! Aloha to Ondrej & Tamara.

When Cindy and her family went to Ponce Beach in San Clemente on a Sunday afternoon, Cindy put her rose gold wedding ring set in the pocket of her shorts for safekeeping. After returning home that afternoon she discovered the rings were not in her shorts pocket.

Her and the family returned to the beach later that evening attempting to find the rings in the sand. There were several places that the rings could have fallen out of the pocket but the most likely was at the beach where she had taken off her shorts to go swimming.

Monday afternoon Cindy contacted me, asking for help. She said that either her husband or herself could meet me the next morning to show me the location. After discussing the location, I felt I could go by myself with the screen shot photo Cindy had marked and sent to my phone. I know how difficult it is for a mother with two young children to leave the house and why should her husband lose part of a days work. Time is important especially in public places.

Ponce Beach is about 20 miles drive for me and I was there an hour after talking to Cindy. Walking to the marked location she had given me, I could see finger drag marks in the sand. It only took a short time to find the two beautiful rings. We were lucky that this beach doesn’t have daily beach sifting machines. Also, that the rings were hiding in sand and not in plain site in the parking lot.  I was able to call Cindy and I drove closer to where they live to return the rings that same evening.

Platinum wedding band lost on Repulse Bay HK

I was contacted on Sunday evening 23rd September , by Shahrin who had found my contact details on the ring finders website .

Shahrin was on holiday in HK for a few days before flying home to Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday evening , and had lost his Platinum wedding ring whilst changing into swimming shorts that afternoon on the beach at Repulse bay HK , he said he had spent ages sifting through the fine sand with his fingers but gave up and went back to his hotel, and contacted me via Ring finders  , Shahrin described the location he thought he lost his ring was under a tree near one of the lifeguard towers , I know this beach very well and told him I knew exactly where he was describing , we agreed to meet on the beach early the following morning .

I arrived around 0730 and met with Shahrin at the lost rings location , first couple of swings and my ATPro detector located a target registering 56 on the meter , first scoop and I had a Platinum ring in my sand scoop , I handed it to Shahrin and he confirmed it was his ring , which he promptly put back on his finger , he was so overjoyed that he had been reunited with his precious ring .

Lost University of Houston Graduate Ring Missouri City, Texas…found by John Volek.

I was contact by Stephanie a resident of Missouri City, Texas who was looking for someone to help her find her lost Graduate ring.

Stephanie said his wife had been in her backyard talking on the phone when she has the mis-fortune of dropping her ring in the grass in her yard.

Stephanie said she had been spinning the ring on her finger while she was on the phone…she said a one point if flew off her finger and landed in the grass.

Stephanie said she spent a number of hours on her hands and knees searching for her lost ring in the grass, but was unsuccessful. Stephanie said after a quick Google Search, she found The Ring Finders (Houston) – Houston Metal Detecting Services and placed the call.

After a short conversation with Stephanie, plans were made to meet that afternoon to search for the lost ring.

Unique 2 Generations of Rings Lost in the Ocean, Found and Returned in North Myrtle Beach SC

Kevin called me at 10 a.m. this morning saying he had lost his gold wedding band the day before and wanted to know if I could help find it. He went on to say that this ring was extremely sentimental to him as he had taken his grandfather’s wedding band and his father’s wedding band and melded them together to make one ring, his. This ring’s story had a long history attached to it and needed to be found. I asked him what time he lost it and how deep he was in the ocean. He replied, “3 p.m. and about belly deep.” Knowing the tide tables, this was right at mid-tide. So, depending on how much sand was on the beach, I’m thinking his ring should be buried very close to the low-tide line. I had a few things to do, and low tide wasn’t for a couple of hours so I told Kevin I’d be there around 11:30ish.

When I got to the beach, I texted Kevin saying, I’m here and stood around scoping out the conditions. It wasn’t long before Kevin and his wife, Suzanne, showed up, and Kevin started pointing out the suspected area. I thought my best hope was an east/west grid search, going from the wet sand to roughly waist deep water. Kevin didn’t know exactly where the ring had come off and mentioned that he had drifted both north and south. So I wanted to extend the search area taking advantage of the low tide. I had my White’s PI, which meant I was digging every piece of wire, bottle cap, and pull tab; and wasting a lot of time digging junk. I was on my 6th or 7th line and hit a great signal, dug it, and unfortunately, it was another bottle cap, a quick cuss word and I moved on. Within about 6 inches, I had another strong signal, thinking I had yet one more bottle cap to add to my collection, I dug the target. As I spread out the sand with my foot, I see this round thing peeking up through the sand and shells. Didn’t look like a bottle cap, reached down to pick it up and my finger went through the middle of it – BAM!!! I was holding this beautiful ring. I instantly knew it was Kevin’s from his description. I nonchalantly washed the sand off his ring in ankle deep water, grabbed my scoop and started walking back up the beach. I slipped his ring on my index finger to hide it from view until the right moment. At the same time, Kevin was walking down the beach towards me and asked, “Tell me.” I said, ‘Tell you what.” He replied, “Tell me you found my ring.” I held my hand up with the ring on my finger and said, “I don’t know, you tell me.” He yelled out, “Oh My GOD,” put both hands over his face, and was totally overwhelmed. Suzanne came running up the beach from the surf, with tears in her eyes. Many, many hugs and thank yous. This is the reason I do this. Total search time was just over an hour.

Lisa and her friends had taken their you kids to Balboa Island for a few hours at the beach. There are several small beaches on the inter bay where the water is free of waves and it is not windy.

The children were getting tired after a few hours, so they prepared to return home. That’s when Lisa realized her platinum and diamond wedding ring was missing from her finger. It had to be in the dry sand because she had not been in the water. Everyone searched for the ring with no success. 

It was getting frustrating with the kids getting tired and hungry. Lisa called her husband, Ryan. He was at work where he couldn’t leave so he went online where he found my contact information. I was in my car with  my detectors when he called. It was a coincidence that I was less than a mile from where Lisa was waiting for help to find her precious wedding ring.

We met and it was a matter of a few minutes till my metal detector was able to locate her ring. I have a lot of respect for mothers of young children. It was a pleasure to help Lisa find her ring and get on her way to get the kids home for their lunch and afternoon nap.

Lisa was a little camera shy so I got to pose for photo with the ring for the book of smiles.

I received a text from Satya who was vacationing in San Diego but from Atlanta Georgia the day before when all of a sudden,,his Gold wedding ring fell off his hand disappearing into the Ocean at knee deep water! Uh oh!

Mother Nature can be a beast,Keep in mind that Gold weighs 19.3% more than water and will sink ⬇️ fast! The sooner we are called,The better the chance is of recovering it!

So I arranged for the best time to search which is at low tide later that day then we hiked down the steep staircase along the retreating cliff.

After many ring detective questions down the mountain to better help this search, I did feel confident in retrieving this lost ring cause he knew the general area where the ring flew off at. He also had used GPS to mark the spot plus took random scenic photos throughout that day.

I began scanning the first possible area when Satya later walked up saying he’s almost positive it was lost much further south near the trail head. So I began another methodical grid search pattern this time from north to south around 50’ swinging when after finding only just 1 nickel,I get a another similar (Beep) on my Garrett Metal Detector with indications of a nickel or possibly a Gold ring?? So I took 3 scoops which was roughly 12-14” down then magically his Gold wedding band appeared in my hand. What a relief it is when I get called to help with success.

Warning ⚠️ Renting or buying a metal detector can be risky. The sand in California is heavily mineralized & loaded with magnetite,Felspar,Iron Quartz and Hot rocks. It takes over 1,000 hours roughly to fully learn the functionality of most detector machines.

Lost gold ring in White Rock BC…Found!

I get a call from a young lady telling me that she was at White Rock Pier when her husband was giving her a beautiful 22k gold band when it suddenly slipped out of his hand and fell into the ocean below. She told me at that moment they both thought it was a gone forever.

She went back the next day and thought she saw the ring in the water below but it wasn’t the ring. She went home that night and went on google and searched the internet and found TheRingFinders. We decided to meet at the pier and she showed me the exact location the ring had fallen into the ocean.

Because the tide was low in the early morning I decided to go before work the next day. I got up at 3:30am and was at the beach by 4:50am I had the ring by 5:15 am and on my way to work! It was lucky the ring was there as its a very popular place to metal detect.
