Wedding Ring Lost at Park in Playa Del Rey…Found and Shipped Back to Utah

  • from Redondo Beach (California, United States)

Last Friday night I just happened to be looking at Craigslist when I noticed a post that was talking about a wedding ring lost not too far from where I live. The post said that the gentleman was leaving on a plane to go home, and could not go back and search for the ring, I also noticed that it had been recently posted, so I decided to get in touch with him to let him know I would try to help. I will let Nate’s testimonial about the loss and recovery tell the rest of the story.

Nate’s story:

I was skeptical that anyone could find my ring, but Steve is amazing and really came through for me!

So, on the last day of our recent vacation, while on a shuttle to LAX to fly back home, I realized my wedding ring was no longer on my finger. I was devastated and figured the ring I’d worn 18 years was gone forever. I wasn’t even sure where it had fallen off. I contacted the theme park and car rental agency without any luck. The next night, in a desperate “what do I have to lose” attempt, I searched the internet for help. I hesitantly placed a Craiglist ad in the “lost and found” section with a Google maps screen shot and address of the beach area we went to before flying back home. I offered a reward as incentive so if someone found it they might consider returning it to me instead pawning it. I was texted right away by a guy named “Steve” who was a member of “TheRingFinders.com” I figured he was probably a scammer. He called and left me a voicemail too – so I verified the website, and his phone number area code, which actually was from California. I called him back (Friday at 9:00pm) and I provided him some more details about where I thought I may have lost my ring near the beach. He was nice and sounded legit on the phone, and didn’t ask for any money from me. Steve went out right away, and within an hour (Friday at 9:52pm), he had recovered my ring and texted me a picture that looked like my ring. I was shocked and beyond happy! Ang and I couldn’t believe it – and so I asked him to provide a clearer picture of the front of the ring (the first was taken with a flash in the dark area where he found it). He sent a clear picture when he got home and it was definitely my ring! We arranged shipment, and a few days later, it is back on my finger as I type this message! I’m so grateful for Steve’s help. He is the real deal! So, if you ever lose a ring (or keys, or phone, etc) and need help – even from out of state – theringfinders.com might be a good place to turn for help (rather than hoping some honest person might see your ad on Craigslist like I did – I got lucky!)….. and if you lose something at the beach near LAX, call up my new found friend Steve – he is amazing!

Engagement Ring Lost, Found, and Returned on Longboat Key, Florida

Jeoff and Kaylie were visiting his parents on Longboat Key for spring break from Medical school in Illinois where Jeoff is studying to be a heart surgeon. They had recently become engaged and it was a good time to just relax and enjoy each other. They went out onto the sand in front of the condo and put some chairs out, then placed their towels over the chairs. Kaylie took off her engagement ring and set it on her towel to put suntan lotion on and when done forgot all about her ring. After a short time lying in the sun they decided to go for a walk down the beach. When they returned the wind had blown their towels off of the chairs onto the sand. It was then that Kaylie remembered she had left her ring on the towel. They began frantically looking for the ring and soon Jeoff’s parents and several other condo owners joined in sifting through the sand. They also found a metal detector rental place and tried to find it with a detector but the detector seemed to beep all the time and they never found anything so they gave that up. They searched all day and later that evening Jeoff found the Suncoast Research and Recovery Club (SRARC) ring finders page on the internet. He contacted Mike and they set a time to meet the following morning. When Mike arrived Jeoff showed him a nicely marked area where they had been sitting. About 4 steps and 6 swings later Mike found the ring. Jeoff, Kaylie, and his Mom and Dad, were amazed at how easily it was found after they had spent all day trying to find it. There were smiles all around and Mike’s was as big as Kaylie’s and Jeoff’s. All of us at SRARC wish nothing but the best for these two and hope they have many happy years together.

Lost Gold & Diamonds Wedding Band at Queens Beach Waikiki…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began when I woke up to an email request to hunt for a ring at Waikiki at 515 PM that evening when the couple returns from a Sight seeing tour around Oahu. I immediately left a voicemail to call me ASAP as it is well known Waikiki is heavily detected and it appeared the ring was lost in waist deep water in the protected area. I received a call about 30 minutes later as I was about to leave. Aneesh & Archana from India and on their honeymoon were at the beach the previous evening when Aneesh’s wedding band went missing. He wasn’t exactly sure when it came off but thankfully they didn’t travel too far along the beach when they discovered it missing. Also the ring would be in the unprotected area and that area doesn’t get detected as heavily as the others. After they gave me a few more data points I decided I would hunt their ring first thing that morning before other detectorists came around. As I was proceeding to Waikiki I got a call from Archana asking if I could meet them that morning and I told her I was almost there already. We met at the Kapahulu Beach Wall and they proceeded to help me mark the extreme ends of the search grid. I started at the westward end and entered the water. I was immediately met by surf that was crashing the shoreline from my knees to my neck in height. It was a high tide. The sand area here only goes out 20 feet before hitting solid reef so I was hoping the ring fell off in the sand near shore. I immediately found two quarters and was getting tossed about with each wave. I was about to go ashore and tell Aneesh I needed to wait until low tide as I couldn’t stay stable and hunt. On this first leg and on the way in I got a nice tone but I was getting pushed around it took at least 8 attempts with my scoop to retrieve the target. When I looked in the scoop there was a gorgeous gold ring with four diamonds just as Aneesh described. I walked up onto the beach where Archana and Aneesh were waiting and held out my scoop and asked, “Is that your ring because if it isn’t I need to wait awhile before going back in to hunt?” The look of joy came over their faces as they exclaimed, “That’s it!” It had to be divine intervention to find the ring at the extreme edge of the grid and thankfully I started on the westward end otherwise it would have been a very long day. Aloha to Aneesh & Archana.

Misplaced Celphone in House .. Pacific Palisades, CA. .. Found after two days

  • from Newport Beach (California, United States)

John called me distressed because he had lost his celphone in his house. Two days had passed and he had used up all his resources to find it. Part of the problem was that he had turned it off. He had talked to apple support, that is where they told him it could be found with a metal detector.
John found TheRingFinders.com on line, contacting me the third morning. I told him that, most likely my full size detectors wouldn’t work well inside the house. I really tried to be honest with him. He was desperate, asking me if I had ever searched inside homes. I have search inside homes in the past, so I said I would come look at his place.
It was a couple hours later when I met John at his home. The first thing I said was I believe something may have been set on top of the celphone. I asked him where he usually puts the celphone. I could see several places where I could use my pinpointer, so I began to probe in a lounge chair as John pointed out a shelf where he keeps his towels. Boom! under the towels was his important celphone with days of messages from his clients. There have been several of my searches that I have not personally found the item, but people had told me that my suggestions helped them find their lost item.

IPhone 6S lost at Venice Beach, CA…Found and Exuberantly Returned

  • from Redondo Beach (California, United States)

I had just finished dinner last night when my phone rang. It was Nico who had lost his IPhone 6S on the beach earlier in the day, and was wondering if I could help him find it. I asked my usual questions, and figured it would be best to go immediately to do a search. I told Nico I would meet him there, so he could show me the area.

I met Nico at the beach about 7:45 PM, and we walked to the area, which was about a mile down the beach. As we walked I found out, he is a musician from Austria who is on tour with his band “Munchie Squad”, and that he would be traveling from the area soon, so finding the phone was really important. When we arrived in the area, I began my search at the most likely spot after he described what had happened. We were the only two people on the beach, except for the occasional police SUV. I covered the whole area digging every shallow signal knowing the phone could not be deep. It wasn’t there, so he showed me another possible area. It wasn’t there either. He then thought that they may have traveled in a diagonal from the original position, so I set a line from where we stood to the original spot, and began to grid. I walked about 15 feet, and found his phone. It was now about 10:00 PM. I handed the phone to Nico, and he celebrated like Rocky Balboa at the top of the stairs in Philly. I was so happy to have made his day!

Lost Gold Wedding Bands at Aulani Disney Resort Ko Olina…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began when I got a lunch time call from Kristen from Beach Recreation at Aulani Disney Resort. She told me a couple lost their ring on the beach in dry sand and she was going to give them my information to reach out to me if they required my services. After arriving home from work I got a call from Ben on vacation from Alberta, Canada. We had a storm coming in this evening so I wanted to get there before it arrived. Waiting until morning could have been painful for me and them. I got through rush hour traffic fairly quick and met Ben on the beach an hour later. He explained while his wife Chelsea was applying sunscreen to their children she set her rings on a towel and when she grabbed the towel afterwards she realized the rings had fallen somewhere around their lounge chairs. They sifted through the sand for a few hours but never found any of the missing four rings. Ben and I moved the metal chairs out of the way and I started a grid search. After finding 17 cents I got a really nice tone and after two scoops I looked into my scoop and there were 3 white gold rings one with a hefty diamond. Ben was surprised and said “Wow”! Those are the three primary rings and he was just so relieved they were found. I scanned the hole again and there was a faint target. Another scoop down and the fourth and final ring was in the scoop. Ben said his wife Chelsea was very distraught after losing her rings and this was going to make their vacation. We took a few pics and Ben thanked me again. Another vacation saved! Aloha to Ben & Chelsea!

Lost ring in lake, in Heathrow, Florida…returned to owner!

  • from Sanford (Florida, United States)
Contact:

The other day my good friend Chris texted me about a lost ring in a small lake in the Heathrow area. In casual conversation a neighbor mentioned to Chris that she had lost her precious silver ring while feeding bread to the fish. It happened just after Christmas and Tina could not get her mind off of loosing the very ring her brother had given her just a few years ago. After hearing her story Chris told her “I know just the guy to help you get your ring back!” So the following day—Valentines Day–I made arrangements to meet Tina and have her show me where she lost her ring. The original information I received was that the ring was lost only a few days ago so when I arrived and got set up–I concentrated my search efforts in the water from the shore out to about three feet deep. After a thorough search in the water and coming up empty handed I called Tina to come out and explain to me again what all happened the day she lost her ring. Come to find out she actually lost it a few days after Christmas, so that turned out to be 6 weeks ago and we have had very little rain and the water level had dropped a good two feet or so since then. I realized just where she would have been standing and the drop zone area would be up the bank further. And sure enough after a few sweeps of my coil over the dry ground–there was Tina’s lost ring just under a thin layer of dirt and mud! Tina could not believe I had found her lost ring and was thrilled to get it back on her finger!
So thanks Chris, for contacting me and helping bring joy and relief to Tina!

Lost Diamond Ring Found in Cumberland RI

  • from Woonsocket (Rhode Island, United States)
Contact:

On February 25th, I received a somewhat frantic call from Lisa.  Her custom-made diamond wedding ring-band had been missing for two weeks.  It was last seen in a bathroom drawer in their house, and Lisa and her husband had been combing the house since that time.  They assumed that their two-year old son had hidden the ring somewhere in the house or that he may have thrown it out of an open second-story window in his room.  Lisa had learned of The Ring Finders from a friend and asked for my help with the search.  I covered the area in the backyard directly under the window without any success.  I also suggested that the ring may have landed on an eave or its gutter just below the second floor windows but would have needed a ladder of over twenty-feet to reach the area.  We moved our search into the house, trying to imagine where a toddler would hide a ring.  After searching through closets, drawers, under furniture, etc., I saw her son trying to stuff something through a small space in his parents’ bedroom window and suggested that he may have done the same with her ring.  We opened the bedroom window, and Lisa hung out the window to check the eave and gutter, while I made sure that she didn’t fall out.  She was shocked and ecstatic to find her ring on the eave right under the window.
