On Thanksgiving Day Tessa and her family were enjoying some fun and games in the backyard when her ring went flying! Here is the account in Tessa’s own words. “On Thanksgiving Day I lost my engagement ring in my aunt’s backyard while playing corn hole with my fiancee. Before I knew it my engagement ring flew off my finger. I originally thought it would be a matter of me looking around where we were playing and I would find it, but hours passed and even with the help of my family and neighbors we couldn’t find my ring. The sun was going down and we even borrowed a metal detector from a friend and scoured the backyard. After hours of searching, nothing but bottle caps had turned up. We decided to start again when the sun came up the next day. We were hopeless and devastated. A family member said to me that there are professionals who can help you find a lost ring. I wasn’t sure where to start but I knew it was worth a shot. First thing the next morning I did a Google search to try to find a solution. I searched “Metal detector service Orlando”. With it being the day after Thanksgiving I wasn’t sure if I would have much luck. I came across Mike McInroe of Theringfinders. Reading testimonials of other searches Mike completed made it seem to me that I had found the person who could help.

I called Mike’s cell and he made it to my aunts house within an hour and a half! He asked me to tell him exactly what I was doing and where I was when it happened. He scanned the area and found my ring IN FIVE MINUTES! My family looked on in disbelief! My lost ring had been found! I felt myself get emotional and asked Mike if I could hug him. Before I knew it my aunt and mom were both hugging him as well! Even my uncle started tearing up–we were just overwhelmed with so many emotions at once. But most of all, pure happiness! Mike was nothing short of heaven sent. Our family cannot thank him enough for his services. If you have lost something that means something to you don’t despair, give Mike a call”. Tessa.

What an honor and privilege it has been to help Tessa and her family. I thank God for allowing my the opportunity to help them and to give us all one more thing to be thankful for during this Thanksgiving season!

Found Grandfathers Ring in Livermore Colorado

  • from Fort Collins (Colorado, United States)

I received a call from Lisa in Livermore,CO saying that she had lost her grandfathers gold class ring and another silver ring in a horse pasture on her ranch. The ranch is up Highway 287 at the northern border just below the Wyoming State line. We arranged to meet the next day. When I arrived we talked and she told me how she and her grandfather were very close and how much the ring meant to her. We loaded up my gear in her truck and drove out to the pasture area. After parking we went through a gate and then walked about 500 yards out into the pasture, over small hills and around tall bushes. Lisa said she was working there, got hot and took off her coat and thinking she’d better not wear her rings, set them on the coat. Lisa stated that when she was finished working she just picked up her coat and started walking back to the truck. That’s when she realized her mistake.

I turned on my detector and Lisa pointed to the spot that she thought she had set her coat down with the rings on it.  The grass was long but laying down flat and thick. After about 10 minutes and two trash targets I hit a good solid repeatable signal. I gave Lisa the pin pointer and almost immediately she let out a scream. laid down flat on the ground face down and began to cry. We had found the gold class ring. After about a minute she stood up and hugged and thanked me. That was only one of two rings so I began searching again and hit another signal about 18 inches away from the first. That was the silver ring. Lisa said she had spent hours out there in the grass on her knees searching for those rings.

We made our way back to the ranch house and had some very welcome cold water. We sat and talked for about an hour before I headed home knowing we both had a great day.

Diamond Engagement Ring Lost, Recovered and Returned in Philadelphia, PA!!!

  • from Philadelphia (Pennsylvania, United States)

Liana texted me late on the Friday after Thanksgiving seeking help to find her lost diamond engagement ring. I immediately called her and she told me she had been raking and bagging leaves in her backyard when her ring came up  missing…she thought it probably fell off while raking or bagging the leaves. We made arrangements to meet the following morning at her home in Conshohocken, PA. When I arrived the next  day I sensed Liana’s stress…they had spent many hours dumping and re-bagging all the the leaves in search of the ring already and even purchased a metal detector to try to find themselves. After no luck they read a suggestion online that they could hire a professional…hence the call to me. Liana, her husband and neighbors were all involved in the search…a very nice crew of people! I really wanted to come through for them. Since she said she already dumped and searched and re-bagged the 15 bags of leaves it made sense to scan the small yard first. I scanned the entire yard fully 3 times before I decided the ring is absolutely not there. I was little disheartened because the only thing left were the bagged leaves but they said they thoroughly searched them already.  We decided we needed to dump them again…one at a time…and now I’ll scan all the contents with my Minelab Equinox metal detector….well, we were on bag #7 or 8…when I couldn’t help but smile…I finally got the signal I was hoping for…I nudged the leave pile a bit with my foot and saw the ring! The group was busy re-bagging leaves and didn’t see my hesitation and smile…i savored the moment for a second…then asked Liana to come over…I pointed to her ring in the middle of the leaf pile…oh the joy and relief on her face! Its why I love being a ring finder….I was so happy to be able to come through for them!

Got a text/call from a gentleman whose wife had lost her 14k diamond ring while cleaning out a chicken box.
She took an eggshell out of the box with her right hand and just threw it to the right and behind her body so it would go into the ivy. Well, when she did this the ring flew off too.
After about 30-40 mins I got a 70’s signal and as I moved the leaves away, I saw her ring!

LOST GOLD RING IN APEX……. FOUND!!!!!!!!!

  • from Fayetteville (North Carolina, United States)
Got a text from a buddy that his co-workers girlfriend lost a gold ring that she’s had since she was a girl. Her grandmother let her pick it out and she bought it for her.
She got home from work; it was almost dark, and she was throwing a dog toy around for her dog when she felt the ring slipping off as she threw the toy. She tried to stop in mid throwing motion.
I came out with the XP Deus II and covered the area. Took me about an hour and twenty mins to find because it was 5 inches from an aluminum pathway strip that went out to the fire pit.
After adjusting the DISC to eliminate the high tone. The gold ring was a 51/52!
Found and returned!

Lost Designer Prescription Sunglasses, Honeymoon Island State Park, Dunedin, Fl….Found!!!

Lost a ring or other metal valuable at the beach or in a grassy or sandy area? Jewelry slip off of you while working outside, playing with the dog or swimming? Please call me ASAP at (843) 995-4719. I offer a free metal detecting service, reward optional but appreciated upon recovery!

Julie was enjoying the warm waters of Honeymoon Island State Park when a wave took her Cocoa Mint designer prescription sunglasses off her face. She searched for awhile in the waist deep water for her glasses but was unable to locate them. Julie then posted on one of the local social media groups called Dunedin Discussions to see if anyone had found the glasses and I saw her post and reached out to her. We set up a search for the next day.

I met Julie on the beach the next day and she directed me to the area where she lost her sunglasses. I began in waist deep water and worked my way in towards the shore and up to the wet sand with my detector. After about a 1 1/2 hour search including searching the dry sand up to where Julie was sitting on the beach, I was unable to locate her glasses. Julie had to leave the beach to meet up with her family so I told her I would continue the search. I returned to the water and searched about an hour more, expanding the search area in all directions from my initial search location. I then came out of the water in order to head home for a break and realized that my hand held detecting pinpointer was missing. I had inadvertently left it in my pocket when doing the sand search and it probably came out when I got back in the water. Now I was looking for two items instead of one! I returned once again to the water and after searching briefly, I found Julie’s sunglasses and they were undamaged! I immediately  contacted her and sent her a photo of her recovered glasses. Needless to say, she was extremely happy and I returned them to her about an hour later. Unfortunately I never recovered my pinpointer but it’s all good!

Julie, it was a pleasure meeting you and being able to return your sunglasses.

Beautiful Gold Diamond Ring Lost, Recovered and Returned in Elverson, PA!

  • from Philadelphia (Pennsylvania, United States)

Lori got in touch with me after losing her beautiful gold and diamond engagement ring. After failing to find her ring with a rented metal detector she decided to seek out an expert and consulted the Ring Finder directory. I met her at her home in Elverson, PA the next day and she told me she had been running out the front door of her home with an armload of stuff when she grabbed her rings off the kitchen counter. Because her hands were full she just put them on the tips of her fingers figuring she would secure them on her fingers when she got in her car. Well…by the time she got to car she saw she only had her band..assuming the other one fell off in the grass between the front door of her house and car. Her car was parked on grass following some driveway repairs. By the time I got there I could sense her panic and anxiety about the loss. She walked me through what happened and showed me the area where she thinks it must have fallen off. It was not a large grassy area…I told her if it was there I will absolutely find it! I could tell she was trying to be positive but stressed. She showed me where the car was parked in grass and I thought most likely the ring would have dropped when she was opening and getting in the driver’s seat. Turned my machine on and started scanning the deep grass…within 2 minutes i got a strong gold surface signal with my Equinox with 15 inch coil. I bent down to look in grass but couldn’t really locate…as Lori was looking on…i said I need to grab my pinpointer….grabbed it out of car and walked back. Bent down again and searched the area with pinpointer…immediately got signal under deep grass…spread the grass away…and there was this huge, beautiful, gold and diamond ring!!!I grabbed it with my fingers and held it up to Lori…oh the relief and  joyful emotions! She asked if she could hug me…and I never refuse a hug! I was so happy to find for her!

Lost Ring Found Under the Starlight of South Dennis, MA

  • from Cape Cod (Massachusetts, United States)

October 2, 2023: While preparing for a monthly association meeting I just missed answering my cell phone. Luckily the caller followed the answering message and called my home line. My wife was near enough to get the phone to me before the caller hung up. The caller was Dennis and he had been cleaning off a swinging chair readying it for an hour or so of enjoying the morning sun and bright blue sky. Something that had not been seen for the previous few days of rain and heavy fog. As he brushed the leaves away, away went his wedding band.

In hours of searching he did not find the ring. At the local hardware store that rents a metal detector he was told that he would be very lucky to find the ring with their rental unit. With that said he was given information about the local guy (me) that has professional equipment for such a search and to contact him through TheRingFinders.com. And Dennis did.

As I said, I had a meeting to go to and the sun was setting about 6:30 with last light at 7PM. My luck and Dennis’s was that the meeting was very short and I could be detecting within 10 minutes, and I was. Twilight was replaced by moon light and flash lights so I could continue my searching.

I knew the ring would be somewhere within the area of the chair, fence, garden and grassy area. I covered the grassy area first as it was the easiest to detect over. No ring was to be found. Next I started between the chair and garden’s edge. I was going to leave the planted garden area for last. I had no need to, as the third swing between the chair and the garden’s edge I heard a very promising signal. A sweep with my pin-pointer and Dennis saw a glitter from his ring, even before I did. He was so fast in his motion of picking it up and putting the wedding band back where it belonged, on his finger. I never saw it happen.

Now it was time to do a bit of talking. Put retired Army and Navy men together and they can talk for hours. We cut it short and took a few pictures and said our Thank Yous and I was on my way back home knowing Dennis’s wife would have a bigger smile on her face than Dennis had on his, though it would be hard to do so.
