I received a call from a couple asking for my help to find a family crest ring that was lost on the beach earlier that day. The guy had taken it off to go swimming and put it in a handbag but somehow it had fallen out when they left. He explained that everyone in his family has the same ring bearing their family crest so it really meant a lot to him.
We arrived at the spot where they had been sitting on the beach and I marked off a 20 x 20 area and began to search the area with my White’s Beach Hunter ID metal detector. After a few coins and trash items I received a good solid gold signal and scooped up the sand and spotted his ring in my scoop! The couple was sitting nearby hoping the ring to be found and as I held it in the air I could see the relief on their faces. Another great day! Recovery #104
I received a call from Mark who explained that he had lost his platinum wedding band on the beach a few days before his wedding anniversary which was inscribed in the ring. He stated that he had taken the ring off and put it in the cup holder of his chair so he could go swimming and not lose it,well that didn’t workout to well as he noticed it was gone when he relocated his chair as the tide was coming in. After getting the beach location and time of day of the lose I was able to get the location the following morning. After a couple hours of searching with nothing but coins and trash in my pouch I decided to move closer to the water even though he stated he was not too far down and within a few minutes I received a good solid signal from my metal detector. Scooping up some sand and washing it out I could see the ring in my scoop! looking closer I could see the inscribed wedding date 7-25-08 which was also the date at which I found it 7-25-17! moments later I called Mark who was celebrating his anniversary nearby in Atlantic city with his wife. He was so happy to hear the great news but his wife was even happier and crying and so thankful for my help. We met the following week and Mark was very happy to have his wedding ring back on his finger! Another Great Recovery #99!
While having dinner at a local beach restaurant I received a message from a friend about a post on a site regarding a lost wedding ring at the beach earlier that day. After making contact with the owners they stated that it was lost later in the afternoon during high tide while playing with the kids in waist deep water. One of the kids accidentally kicked him in the hand and the ring fell off and he explained that she felt horrible about it. Now since it was hours later and the tide was now going out I explained this would be the best time to meet at the beach even though it was night time. They knew it was lost right in front of the lifeguard stand so once we met at the beach we headed to that area. Since the waves were a little rough that day I started my grid pattern at one side up higher on the slope working towards the other side and following down to the waters edge as the tide went out. After a few trash targets and a couple coins I got a nice gold tone on my White’s beach Hunter ID and scooped up the wet sand rinsing it in the water revealing the gold wedding band in the scoop! I called the couple over as they were trying to find it with a flashlight in the water frantically and held the ring up stating “I got it!” They’re look of amazement and relief was awesome and couldn’t wait to tell the girl they got it back. Another very happy couple was able to get back to enjoying their vacation! #97 lost ring recovery!
Found it! Received a call from Dan (NYCPD) officer that while on the beach with his family today in Atlantic City his wife had lost her engagement ring. He marked out the area where they felt it was lost and within minutes of searching my White’s Beach Hunter ID got the hit and the beautiful diamond ring was in my scoop! They were extremely happy! Another great recovery! #88 for me!
I received a call from a woman stating that she had lost her diamond eternity ring on the beach earlier today and was hoping I could try to recover it for her. She had a general idea where the ring may be and explained that she had taken it off to put sunscreen on and sat the ring on her lap and later when she got back to the beach house she realized she never put it back on. I told her I could be there within an hour. She was worried with it getting late and it getting dark soon it would be a problem however I told her although its easier with daylight its not necessary since my metal detector has a target indication light system on it along with headphones for the sound so I could still do the search. Upon arrival at the beach, her husband and friend where already on the beach and trying to find the ring by eye and showed me the area where they been sitting earlier that day. I handed her husband 4 red glow sticks and asked him to make a box the size of the general area which was about 30’x30′. As I was explaining my search process her husband informed me that some of the diamonds in the ring were from her mothers ring and are irreplaceable so it would mean the world to her if I could find it. He stated that the ring was platinum and had large diamonds all the way around. I told him I would do my best and began my grid search within the designated area. After 20 minutes and digging a few coins and trash items I received a nice sound mid tone accompanied by a yellow light on my White’s Beach Hunter id 300 detector and proceeded to push my scoop into the sand to retrieve the target. Turning on my headlight and raising my scoop I looked in and there was her ring. A beautiful diamond ring with very large diamonds all the way around. Her husband and friend were watching from a nearby lifeguard stand and I held the the ring up and stated I think I have what we are looking for! They jumped down and ran over with total relief and amazement and couldn’t wait for us to get back to the house to his distraught wife with the great news. We entered the house and he introduced me and held out the ring. What a look on her face as she focused on her ring. She went on to tell me how much it means to her and the story behind the ring with her mothers diamonds. It was absolutely Priceless to be able to bring the smile back to her face after worrying since she lost it hours earlier. Another great recovery,Another great day!
