Lost Ring In Prairieville, LA – Found

  • from Lafayette (Louisiana, United States)
Contact:

Rosetto called me on Tuesday. She had lost her husband’s diamond and tungsten carbide wedding band the day before. They had searched the yard without success. I questioned her on the loss. “Where do you think the ring is?” “It’s either in our yard, the neighbor’s yard or in the tree.” “The tree??” “I was really mad at him”.  Being 2 hours away, I told her I’d look at my work schedule and the weather and get back to her. I found an opening on Friday with neither rain nor work. Carrie and I arrived at Rosetto’s house and had her throw flagged test washers. All three washers hit the tree branches and fell within a foot of each other. Within 10 minutes of searching, Carrie had a good signal (80 on the AT PRO) and found the ring close to where the washers dropped.  Another very happy client. We accepted a generous reward after telling her, “We are  lucky you throw like a girl.“

Lost White Gold Diamond Woman’s Ring Set in Westerville, OH. “FOUND” with Testimonial

  • from Newark (Ohio, United States)

I received a call about a white gold diamond wedding ring set lost while cleaning off her car from snow and ice. She remembers seeing the rings as she starting scraping the ice off and by the time she completed the whole car and got inside, the rings were missing. She searched and searched with no luck in the snow cover ground.

I got there in the evening with single digit temperatures, a flashlight and my metal detector to start searching. I searched around the car and yard with no luck. Finally, I searched behind the car bewteen the sidewalk and the road where there was undistrub snow. I found one ring and the second about a foot apart from each other. I went to the front door of the house and ask if these are her rings and she started to cry in joy that her rings have been found.

See her testimonial below.

Dear Jon,
We couldn’t thank you enough for not only coming on the same day we called you, but at night and in the bitter cold no less!
I lost not only my engagement ring but my wedding band that was only 7 months old.
I was in a frantic hurry on a frigid cold Wednesday morning. I rushed to get my kids in the car and get the ice scraped off. When I got in my car, I realized my rings were gone!
I had 2 very generous people come help me search my yard and after no luck and a full days worth of tears, I had almost given up all hope!
That is when I stumbled upon theringfinders.com and found Jon B!
I poured through 2 pages of blogged testimonies and decided to call!
I’m so glad I did! Thank you so much Jon from the bottom of my almost broken heart! The 2 hugs that I gave you weren’t nearly enough!
Sincerely,
Andrew & Anell Pike of Westerville, Ohio

Proposal Gone Wrong .. Venice Canal, Venice, CA. .. Ring Found and Returned

  • from Newport Beach (California, United States)

Rohilt had chose to propose to Jasleen on a footbridge at historic Venice Canals in Venice, CA. His best friends were there to record the moment in a video. He dropped Platinum Diamond engagement ring on the bridge and it bounced through openings in the planks and into 5 ft. of water. Panic set in, the next day was going to be a traditional two day family celebration of their engagement. Family members from all over the country were traveling here to congratulate them. They got online and found TheRingFinders.com.

When I received the call it was dark and I asked if they could meet me in the morning. They told me that the celebration was tomorrow. I agreed it be worth a try tonight, at least I can get to see the location and conditions I have to deal with. After arriving and checking the depth of the water. It was about 5 ft which is about shoulder high. It would be worth waiting for the tide to drop one foot lower. I waited for low tide but the water level did not get lower.

I was not aware that the Venice Canal doesn’t have a tidal flow. They do let the water out Monday and Tuesday to keep the water from getting stagnant. We couldn’t wait till then.
The first night was a disaster with shoulder high water and many trash metallic items in the mucky cold water. After two one hour attempts the ring could not be found.. Returning the next day with thermo waders and a large magnet to thin out iron objects. My Minelab Excalibur detector was not able to separate the targets they were too close together. This attemp was 5 hours of trying to remove all metallic signals with no sign of the ring.
I had to leave, but returned for the third try Sunday.  This time the water was just about chest high which made it much easier to eliminate the metallic trash. After two hours I scooped up a loud sounding target that I believed was a pull tab, but it was a beautiful platinum diamond engagement ring.
I took a few photos, then called Rohilt. He was actually just a couple miles away at the party. We met on the Santa Monica Pier and I gave him his ring. He had not told Jasleen that I had found the ring. Returning to the party he was able to surprise his fiancé by formally proposing to Jasleen and give her the ring she had only heard bounce on the bridge and splash into the canal two days before. I feel like I have known them forever at least it was a great pleasure to help them find this important part of their future life together.

Received this e-mail  from Barbara this morning!

Hi Norm,

I recall hearing about you a while back. I am wondering if you search for keys,  I think I lost my spare set of vehicle keys in the yard yesterday as I have searched every inch of the house that I can possibly think of.

I know I came home with them, so am thinking they fell out of my pocket and then of course it snowed  I want to find them because of course I need them but also before it snows any more I am thinking that they would be near the sidewalk paths or maybe on or near the front and back landings, but it’s not a big search area.  Thank you, Barb

I called Barbara to set appointment with her for 1:00pm to locate her keys, and of course today had to be one of the coldest days -20 Celsius and a wind-chill factor -30 It was Brrrrrrr cold!  lucky for me it only took me 15 minutes to locate her keys in the back yard.

Another happy Client!  Thank you Barbara for entrusting me to locate your Keys.

Lost family heirloom recovered at Coronado Beach

  • from La Jolla (California, United States)

Trip’s Mother came to town for Thanksgiving and presented Trip with her Father’s signet ring. Trip went to Coronado’s dog beach on Thanksgiving Day to give his dog some exercise, and while throwing a ball out into the water, the priceless heirloom flew off with one of his throws. I got the call later that day, but, the tide was already coming in, so, not a good time to hunt for it. We made arrangements to meet on Saturday afternoon to take advantage of a nice low tide. I met trip there at the beach where he showed me the search area…..about the size of two football fields. He was to take his Mom back to the airport that afternoon, so, he took off and left me to my task. I started gridding parallel to the water’s edge from mid-slope heading toward the water as I chased the tide out. After about an hour, I covered all the wet sand down to the water and decided to start gridding the other direction 90 degrees from the previous grid. This way, I could see my grid marks better and not leave any gaps from the surf washing away my marks. After a dozen or so passes from mid-slope to knee deep water, I get a great hit in ankle deep water…..reading 12-29 on my E-trac. Sure enough, I pull up a big gold ring matching Trip’s description. I make the fun call and find Trip and Mother are heading toward the airport. Both are very happy to hear the good news and Trip said he would return to the beach in 20 minutes or so. I cooled my heels while I waited by doing some more detecting until he got there. Right on time, I looked up and saw the happiest person on the beach! Trip came walking down with the biggest smile you could imagine. We took some photos and made it out in time to miss the coming rain storm. A pleasure to meet you Trip and thank you for the reward!

Tim called me on a Saturday morning as I was heading to the health club. I traded the gym bag for my detector bag and was on site in 20 minutes. He had lost his wedding band in the back yard 2 days before while playing with his daughter. He had put the ring in his pocket with his cell phone. He took out his cell twice in different areas of the yard. The areas where he removed his phone from his pocket were the first searched. After finishing the second area, I started a whole yard grid search. I had a not-so-great hit so I marked my grid line and searched the hit. Nothing there. As I turned back to pick up my marker, the ring was on top of the grass a foot from the marker. As I was on my knees, being that close to the grass made the ring a lot easier to spot.

Thanks Tim for the generous reward. This will help keep our services available.

Wedding Ring Lost in Central Louisiana – Found

I received an email from Jason saying that his wife, Patrice, had lost her platinum engagement ring while playing with her kids in their back yard. She then bought a detector and tried to find it, without success. He was asking about my services and availability. I was able to start the hunt the next morning at 7:30. Patrice grabbed one of my detectors and helped with the search. The search area was not very large. It included a fenced back yard, a strip of un-fenced land bordering a lake and part of the neighbor’s back yard. About halfway through a grid search in the fenced back yard, I had a good hit and saw the ring, visible when the thick grass was moved. I was happy that the lake had not accepted the ring during their time fishing.

Thank you Jason and Patrice for the generous reward. This will help keep our services available.img_0568img_0589img_0590

Clark Howard Show – Empowerment Zone

newsclarkhoward

What an honor it is to have been featured on the Clark Howard Empowerment Zone podcast.  I have been a long time listener to Clark Howard, starting while I was in college. Clark Howard is a consumer expert and host of the nationally syndicated Clark Howard Show.  He also offers advice on his website, www.Clark.com.  His famous lines are “helping on ways to save more, spend less, avoid getting ripped off”.  So when I was asked to be a guest on a new podcast he was starting called “The Empowerment Zone”, I was humbled.  The description of  The Empowerment Zone is … “The Empowerment Zone features stories from people who are taking charge of their lives, empowering themselves and others, and hopefully …inspiring you.”

Lost and Found Ring

I had two of my past clients who jumped at the opportunity to tell their stories.  I love it when people tell the stories from their point of view – they add so much to the story.  As we all know, a ring is so much more than just a ring.  Both Laura and Jon explain in the podcast why their rings meant so much to them.

Check out the podcast below, and then check out www.LostandFoundRing.com for more of my stories and videos.
