Ring lost at Mission Beach found

Pete and his wife were escaping the heat inland and decided to go to south Mission Beach. Pete took his wedding ring off before going out in the surf, and gave it to his wife to hold. It was a bit big for her fingers, but, that’s where she held it. By the time Pete came back, his wife wasn’t feeling too good, and in their haste to pack up and leave, the ring came off and into the dry sand. After Pete did a Google search to get help, he came across one of my posts and texted me.  Being a Saturday afternoon, parking was going to be impossible, so, I had an early dinner and hoped the crowds would lighten up a bit so I could actually get to the beach.

I texted Pete back when I got to the beach and found he was already there waiting. He showed me the search area, and I started at what he thought was ground zero, and spiraled out from there. Naturally, since he had been there earlier in the day, the tide was at a different level, people had come and gone, so, figuring out exactly where they had been camped wasn’t a sure thing. After quite a bit of the supposed search area was covered, I was beginning to wonder if someone had already found it. I was finding a few other targets with similar target I.D.’s so I was still hopeful that it was still there somewhere. At the end of one of my passes, I was dodging around where some people were sitting and hit an area a bit out of the initial search area. It was an area where I was going to expand into next. I could see that people had been there recently by the disturbed sand. Sure enough, I got a nice solid 15 on my Equinox and found Pete’s ring. A happy Pete can now go home and make his wife feel a bit better. Nice to meet you Pete and thank you for the reward.

Apple Watch recovery in Glen Ross Ontario, while Scuva diving.

Received a call about a person having lost their Apple Watch while diving off an old train bridge into a local canal/waterway near Glen Ross, Ontario. With the help of Diving partner, we were able to return the watch to the owner. Very lucky as conditions were very difficult with tons of weeds and silt. Yet another happy customer.

Lost Diamond rings found in Coe Hill

Got a phone call to go look for a couple rings that a lady had lost a couple days ago while swimming at a camp ground near Bancroft. After 4 1/2 hours of swinging the coil, and drinking tons of water to beat off the heat, I found them both about 3 feet appart in knee deep water. One happy lady and now, they can relax and enjoy the rest of their family vacation 🙂. Big thanks goes to Steve Zazulyk for putting me onto this call. You know anyone who has lost jewelry, on land or in water (down to 100 feet, Scuba), send me a PM. I cover anywhere between Kingston, Bancroft and Cobourg (including Prince Edward County). Life is good 😊

Delicate Gold Necklace found on Lake Champlain beach, Vermont

Got a call this afternoon from a distressed woman on a beach on Lake Champlain. Two days ago she had lost a very special necklace. I told her I would get there just as fast as I could pack up my things.

When I arrived she explained that she was in Vermont on a temporary work assignment and had to leave in a few days. Her boyfriend, who was still in college in Texas, had given it to her and she knew if she left Vermont without it she would be broken hearted about it (I think wedding bells are in the future!).
She had taken the necklace off to go for a swim, and set it on her towel on the sand. When she came back from the swim, the bugs decided to attack her (Vermont bugs are fierce this time of year!!). She jumped up, grabbed her towel and hurried down the beach a little ways to get away from them. In the haste she had forgotten about the necklace. When she realized it was gone she went back and couldn’t find it. After searching for it for a couple days she thought she would buy a metal detector. But then she learned about The Ring Finders and gave me a call. I’m glad she didn’t buy one, because it would’ve cost her $800 or more to get one that would pick up the the signal from such a light chain and tiny diamond pendant.
I got started and dug about 50 tiny pieces of foil and scrap metal. I got a faint signal with crazy numbers and dug it anyway. About 2 or 3 inches down was a beautiful gold chain! What a relief, there it was, and noone had walked off with it! She collapsed to the ground and held it tight. One very happy lady!!

Lost Diamond Cross Pendant found Fort Worth

Received an email from Cyndi on July 8, 2020 that she lost her diamond pendant while fighting off a wasp attack while exiting a backyard gate at her sons home. I contacted her and discussed what had happened. She was quite upset from the loss and also got stung seven times. I scheduled to be out the following day. We searched her sons and neighbors yard for about 45 minutes. The pendant was found in the neighbors yard about 15 feet behind the gate.
She was not present but her son and mom were really surprised. I called Cyndi and she was elated, and very happy. I’m glad your ok Cyndi and despite what happened I’m glad this made your day!  Thank  you for the reward!!

Lost Lady’s Class Ring – Kill Devil Hills – Outer Banks, NC – Found

On Friday the 10th I got a call from a young lady who had lost her 2020 class ring in the sand.  She was nearby in Kill Devils Hills so I told her that I could be there in about 15 minutes.

When I arrived, I met her at the beach access and she said that her parents were waiting on the beach.  When I arrived mom and dad said that they had just recently purchased the ring for their daughter.  It was brand new!

The dad had circled an area about 12 feet in diameter…so I began.  On second swipe I got a good hit on my Minelab Equinox 800.  I said, “It can’t be that easy, can it?”  I reached down and picked up and handful of sand that contained the ring.

Mom was thrilled and dad shook may hand (even though we aren’t supposed to do that anymore). They were both thrilled as was the young lady.

Ring lost in water for over a year returned

I was enjoying a hot afternoon metal detecting in a local swimming beach when I found a really awesome spinner ring with the names “Nate & Lindsey” on the inside. Using the power of social media I made a post asking for help. 675 shares later, I get a message from Lindsey and she verifies the ring and we set up a time and public place to meet her and Nate to return the ring. They told me that they never thought that they would see that ring again because it was lost over a year ago. Now they have the ring back after laying in 4’ of water for over a year

Lost large gold wedding ring, New Symrna Beach, Fl…..Found in ocean and returned!

Kim was relaxing at New Symrna Beach with her family and was especially enjoying the warm tidal pool area! She was in knee deep water and was pushing herself around–alligator style–using her hands to pull and push her way along and then “IT” happened! She felt her wedding ring come off of her finger and before she could blink, her ring disappeared into the sand below the water. She stopped immediately and called out for help and in an instant she was surrounded by a group of family and new found friends all wanting to help. They all walked around bent over here and there intently looking into the shallow water, hoping to catch the glimmer of gold! They searched for a while and then slowly began to realize the futility of looking for such a small ring in that sort of environment. Kim was distraught because her wedding ring was actually made up of various family hand-me-down rings that were used to make her one-of-a-kind ring.

Later on that day Kim posted on Facebook about her loss and someone recommended a very specialized group of metal detectorists that actually help people find their lost jewelry. So Kim decided to look up theringfinders.com and up popped my name and one of my stories. She promptly gave me a call and I decided to try and look real early the next morning just after low tide to see if I could find her ring. But I was a bit too late, as low tide was at 4:30am and sunrise was at 6:30 two hours after low tide. I spent an hour and a half looking and as I dug each target, Kim’s heart would soar and then plummet as I revealed a variety of items. As I exited the water, Kim acknowledged that I gave it a noble effort and had all but resigned herself to accepting the sad realization that her ring would not be found. (I knew that later in the evening there would be another low tide and I assured her that I was coming back at 3:00pm to chase that low tide out and cover the tidal pool area once again…and much more thoroughly!). That was wonderful news to Kim’s ears and a blessing to her hurting heart. Earlier, while Kim was anxiously watching me search, a friendly lady stopped and asked what I was looking for and Kim, with tears running down her face, explained her dilemma. The dear lady asked if she could pray for Kim and right there on the beach they bowed their heads and prayed together. Kim told me later that she immediately felt peace and a calmness come over her.

I returned later on that day two hours before low tide and the tidal pool where Kim was swimming was very obvious and now I began another grid search making sure I covered every inch of water. It took only 30 minutes to hear that sweet, sharp sound of gold! I motioned to Kim with a big thumbs up and I could see the emotions and tears of joy flooding over her and I silently thanked God for answering the prayer of a dear stranger just passing by!
