Diamond Wedding Band Lost in Yard in Santa Ana, CA…Found.

  • from Redondo Beach (California, United States)

P1020729P1020728

We had just landed at LAX coming from Waco, TX last Sunday, when I turned my phone off of “airplane mode”, and realized I had just received a call from Mana regarding the loss of his wife’s wedding band. I immediately called back to see what I could do to help out. We were not able to meet up that day but arranged to meet the next day, so I could help them find what had eluded them for a couple of days.

When we talked Mana explained that they were decorating their front yard for Halloween, and in the process his wife lost her ring in the yard. I showed up at our arranged time, and Mana showed me where the loss had presumably taken place. His wife was painting some of the props for the display, and took her ring off so it would not get paint on it. She gave her ring to Mana to hold, at which time he was sitting near her so he placed it on his shorts “so as not to lose it”. When they were done though He stood up forgetting the ring was there and it fell off into the grass. The grass was not too thick, so I thought it was surprising it wasn’t visible to them. I searched the area, and found some items that were too deep to have been lost in a couple of days, and did not dig for them. I then moved a bit towards the area Mana would have moved when he arose, and got a good hit. I pulled out my pinpointer, and searched. I was surprised that although I was right over the ring with my pinpointer, I could not see the ring. It had become hidden very flat under the grass, and without detecting equipment probably would not have been found.

When I raised my hand with the ring in it, Mana exclaimed jokingly “you save me”, and I could tell by the joy he was showing that I had made his day. He showed his wife, and there were a lot of smiles to go around that yard on Monday. I was very happy to have returned a ring that was thought to have been lost for good.

If you lose your ring or other metal item of value, call as soon as possible. I will work hard to help you find what you thought might never be found again. I search,  Beverly Hills, Hermosa Beach, Huntington Beach, Long Beach, Los Angeles, Malibu, Manhattan Beach, Newport Beach, Rancho Palos Verdes, Redondo Beach, Santa Monica, Seal Beach, Simi Valley, Thousand Oaks, Torrance, Venice Beach, and all parks, yards, gardens, and ponds (to 5 foot depths) in all of Orange County, all of Los Angeles County, and Ventura County.

Man’s Wedding Band Lost in the Surf – Found and Returned at Sunset Beach NC

  • from North Myrtle Beach (South Carolina, United States)

I saw and responded to a posting on Craigslist about a Man’s lost wedding band. Not hearing anything back and having some spare time I decided to go ahead and conduct a couple of searches hoping I’d find it to return. Two days later I received an e-mail from Aimee saying her and her husband Steven would love my help. After exchanging e-mails and her telling me that Steven had been skim boarding in a 2 block area instead of the smaller area described in the CL posting I knew I’d need some help.

I contacted my son-in-law Donnie, who had helped me on a few other searches, and asked him if he wanted to help me again. About 3 hours later we were on the beach to catch the 2am low tide. I sent him south to cover one block while I headed north to cover the second block. Because of the full moon and the higher than normal tides my calculations of the general area of the beach the ring should have been were off by a number of yards. After a little more than 2 hours of searching Donnie started waving his flashlight to get me attention. I walked the block to catch up to him and I asked him if he’d found it. His response was “I think so” and handed me the ring. Bingo we had a match between the ring in hand and the picture of the ring in the CL post.

I contacted Aimee this morning and she couldn’t have been more excited that Steven’s ring had been found after being lost for 5 days in the sand. Luckily they were still in the area so I took the ring to them.

You can tell by the smiles on their faces that they’re one happy couple.

Steven and Aimee – thank you for trusting me to find and return your lost treasure. Good luck in your future endeavors.

A special thanks to Donnie for his help once again – he’s turning into one great partner!

White Gold Wedding Band Lost at Descanso Beach, Avalon CA. .. Catalina Island

imageErika called Monday asking me if I would or if I knew anyone that would search for a ring lost at Descanso Beach in Avalon, CA. “Catalina Island”

I know Avalon well and take trips there a couple times a month using a commuter pass for the Catalina Flyer ferry. It would be a nice excuse to get over to the Island combining a search with visiting friends.
Erika and her husband Nolan with their two year old son had planned this weekend trip to celebrate her birthday. They set up on the sand at Descanso Beach Resort to enjoy the afternoon. Her husband slipped his wedding band on Erika’s thumb while he went for a swim. Soon after, while playing with her son she noticed the ring missing. It had to be in a small area but the sand was not giving it up.. It was not a happy birthday with Erika feeling guilty for losing the ring.
Erika texted me the location where they had been sitting with photos. I left Newport Beach at 9:00am arriving at Avalon about 10:30am.. My friend Joe was there to meet me with his golf cart.. It had been four days since the loss but. Chances were still good that the ring was still in the sand. Today the cruise ship was in, so we just had to grid the area before people set up their beach towels. Luck was with me, it was a fairly quick search it wasn’t long till Erika’s husband’s ring was in my sand scoop. I hand been updating her by text during the morning so I sent her a photo of the ring in my hand..
We met the next day at a time halfway between between her home and where I live to give her the ring.. Her plan was to surprise Nolan with the ring when he got home from work. Ericka sent me a text message the next day telling me how well the surprise went. It was another special search having my friend Joe help me and witness how Our group works. Avalon is a small town with not much happening, so by the end of the day many of the local residents had heard about TheRingFinders.com.

Gold and Diamond Wedding Ring Set Lost, Found, and Returned at Clearwater Beach, Florida

Gold and Diamond Wedding Ring Set Lost, Found, and Returned at Clearwater Beach, Florida

Steve and Elizabeth Yeagley and their two beautiful  little girls Sydney and Olivia were spending the day at Clearwater Beach on vacation from Lafayette, Indiana. Steve and Elizabeth had honeymooned at Clearwater 10 years earlier and this was their first chance to show the girls a nice sandy beach and the gulf of Mexico. To give the girls some shelter from the sun they erected a canopy and thinking ahead they removed their wedding rings for safe keeping and put them into a small pocket in the canopy roof. They enjoyed the morning and the girls just fell in love with the beach.

As early afternoon approached they decided to fold up the canopy and head back to their hotel for lunch. After picking up all the toys and putting the canopy back into it’s case, they headed for their room. When they reached the showers at the edge of the beach, Elizabeth remembered they had not retrieved their rings from the canopy pocket. When they opened the pocket their rings were not there. They quickly returned to the spot on the beach where they had been sitting and someone had already spotted Steve’s ring shinning in the sand. They then searched for Elizabeth’s rings but had no luck. Steve did a search on the internet for someone with metal detectors that might help. He Found SRARC on The Ring Finders site and contacted Mike Miller. Mike was able to respond right away and an hour later met him at the beach site. After searching the entire area that Steve thought the rings would in Mike started working the path that they had used to leave the beach. Mike worked back to where they had been sitting and still came up empty. A couple had come to the beach after Steve and Elizabeth had left and had set up a sun shade right next to where they had been. They were packing up to leave so Mike waited for them to leave and sure enough within a few seconds found Elizabeth’s rings right where the sun shade was sitting. Mike got lot’s of hugs and there were a few tears of happiness as well.

We at SRARC are happy we were able to recover Elizabeth’s rings and keep their vacation a happy memory with a great story to tell to family and friends.

Lost Engagement Ring in Richmond, Texas (found) by John Volek

10/23/2015

I was contacted by Jasmine regarding her lost engagement ring, she said her ring had been lost in front lawn at her home. Jasmine said she was getting married in two weeks, and was desperate and needed help finding her ring.

Jasmine advised her engagement ring had accidentally been dropped out the second floor window of her residence. Jasmine said her fiancé Anthony had been shaken out a dirty towel from the second story window unaware that her new engagement ring was in the towel.

Jasmine said she and Anthony had searched the lawn on their hand and knees but could not find her lost ring. Anthony said the following day he purchased a metal detector at Academy, but being unfamiliar with it’s operation he was again unsuccessful at finding the lost ring.

Jasmine said the next day she found The Ring Finders on the internet and placed the call!

10/24/2015

I made the short trip over to Anthony and Jasmine’s residence this afternoon and was given a first hand account of how the ring was lost. The search area was relatively small and the recovery was quite quick. The smiles tell the story!

Platinum Ring Lost in Surf .. Corona DelMar, CA. .. Recovered

  • from Newport Beach (California, United States)

Matt and Kristy were enjoying a day at the Corona Delmar Beach. They have just moved into the area from Georgia. The surf today was very rough and probably much more violent than they are used to on the east coast. Matt waded out into the surf to his waist then dove under the incoming wave. After getting beat up by the wave he realized his Tiffany Platinum wedding ring was missing.
They spent the next two or three hours trying to find the ring as the tide was receding with no success. Returning home Kristy went to the computer finding my contact information on TheRingFinders.com. I was at another beach a few miles away. After a few questions, I was able to determine that the loss occurred at peak high tide. That’s a good thing, but by the time I got the call the tide was rising again. I told them the most important thing was that we meet so I can get an approximate location. It may require that I wait till tomorrow’s low tide.
We met in the parking lot 20 minutes after our phone conversation. Matt had a pair of dive goggles read to do some searching of his own. I almost didn’t take my detector to the water because the tide was quite high. As a second thought I grabbed my CTX 3030 detector and my long handled sand scoop walking to get the location. The waves were really powerful with a strong back wash which could be a disadvantage when trying to retrieve a target. Otherwise that means when digging a target it is possible to lose it in a violent wave.
I wasn’t very positive about this attempt but I walked straight out to give it a try. Matt was at my side when I got my first signal. He got very excited as I told him, this beach has a lot of aluminum trash don’t get excited. It took probably 5 scoops to dig this between several waves. I’m beginning to believe in miracles because in the scoop was Matt’s Platinum ring.
The beach was crowded in the water and on the sand. They all were watching as I walked into the water with all my gear. When the find was made I held my detector and scoop up over my head in a victory salute.. Applause and cheers from everyone made me feel like a rock star. This was another awesome adventure and again I was just as surprised as everyone. Another RingFinders success story that will someday be a household name when people need help finding lost heirlooms.

Husband’s Silver Wedding Band Lost in the Sand – Found. North Myrtle Beach SC

  • from North Myrtle Beach (South Carolina, United States)

I got a very nervous phone call from Londa about 1130pm on Oct 22, 2015 asking if I could help find her husband Wayne’s wedding band that he lost in the sand. She said they had just gotten married the day before and were on their honeymoon from Lexington NC. She went on to say that they were sitting on the beach and when her husband stood up he was cleaning the sand off himself and shook his hands when his ring went flying. I told her I’d be there in less than 30 minutes.

When I arrived she met me in the parking lot and we headed to the sand. As I got to the beach I saw Wayne with a flashlight looking for his ring. Thankfully, Londa had already drew a line in the sand showing me where they were sitting. Wayne showed me where he was standing when the ring came off his finger so I started my grid. By his description I figured the ring would have gone towards the ocean but actually ended up closer to the dunes. It took me about 5 minutes to find it and I let Wayne pick it out of the scoop. Needless to say they were one happy couple!!! This will be one more memory in a long life together.

Londa did everything right by calling very shortly after Wayne lost his ring and by marking off the area he lost it in.

Wayne and Londa, Thank you very much for the generous reward.

Thank you for reading my blog

Man’s Wedding Ring Lost, Orlando, Florida…..Found!

  • from Sanford (Florida, United States)
Contact:

Ever had the hankering for a good ol food fight?  Well Josh had volunteered to help out his church youth group and that is exactly what was planned for the main event.  It was outdoors on a large patch of thick Florida crab grass that the food flinging free-for-all took place.  They had a great time throwing all sorts of stuff back and forth and it wasn’t until they began hosing each other off that Josh realized his ring was not on his finger.

The following day Josh decided to rent a metal detector and spent the next two days searching the thick grass without success.  During his search to rent a detector Josh found theringfinders.com on line and gave me a call and explained his dilemma.  I assured him that I would be more than happy to meet him and look for his ring and encouraged him to call me after he returned the rental.

Two days later Josh called and we agreed to meet at the “food fight site”!  He showed me where the different stations were set up and then ended by explaining that the shaving cream fight mainly covered a certain area off to one side.  So I set up my flags outlining the key areas and began systematically searching.  I found a ton of pennies, which I found out later were also used during the event!  It took about an hour and then came the magic moment!  There was Josh’s ring, all caked in dried shaving cream and just waiting to be found.  I immediately cleaned the ring with my drinking water and then texted Josh with the Good News!

Thank you Josh for your generous reward and keep up the good work with the kids!

Lost Ring Found – Middleton WI

Got a call this weekend from a guy whose wife lost both of her rings while doing yard work.  He found one of the rings, but couldn’t find the other.  The area was a flower bed that they had recently cleared of brush, and then spread a bale of straw.  It was a real life needle in a haystack!  We quickly started looking when we got there, first scanning the hay with our handheld metal detector.  Nothing.  Then I detected the grassy area around the flower bed.  Got a couple of hits that were deeper, got a hit on a piece of metal … then the sweet sound of gold.  Check out the full story below on my website, www.LostandFoundRing.com.

Venice Beach Resident Lost Ring in Sand .. Found by TheRingFinder Member

  • from Newport Beach (California, United States)

Even after many years living on the beach, you can not be too careful with your valuables. The sand can hide your dropped jewelry in seconds.

Jeff and Fran live on the beachfront in the Santa Monica / Venice Beach area. They spend much of their time on the beach at the towel line nearest to the water. Today Fran asked Her husband, Jeff to give his gold wedding ring for her to put in her bag for safe keeping.
After a few hours Fran notice the ring was missing from her bag. They had not moved so they were sure the ring was in the sand. Two hours later their attempts to find the ring was useless. Fran went to the nearest lifeguard tower to ask for suggestions. The lifeguard recommended they Google search TheRingFinders.com also suggesting that they call me.
They called me and I asked them to stay on the spot or Mark where they where. The traffic is always unpredictable but I was still able to meet them before they had to leave. That made it an easy search. With a few swings of my detector I had a solid signal which turned out to be Jeff’s ring. They were very grateful and told me this was 37 years of being married and living here in Santa Monica/Venice Beach. It was a pleasure to meet them and help them find their ring.

Ring recovered Friday 10-9-15 using a Minelab CTX3030 metal detector.
