Received a call this past Thurdsay morning for a lost wedding ring set. The rings were dropped sometime Wednesday and after the owner and her family searched yesterday they came up empty handed. So took the ride over this morning and met up with the owner and after about an hour or so searching out popped two gold beauties!

Clients review of service: “Amy Bullock Jones-I highly recommend giving Jeff a call if you are ever in the unfortunate situation of losing a ring(s) or other valuable item on the beach! I lost both of my rings (wedding band and engagement ring) yesterday after taking them off to apply sunscreen….after which I got distracted with five 13 year old girls. I didn’t even realize until later that night that they were missing. After searching every possible bag and beach chair pocket I was certain they were on the beach. The next morning I found Jeff through an internet search thinking I should at least give it a try. Jeff showed up within 1/2 hour of my phone call and went above and beyond to search the entire area I pointed out I thought we were around, and the area we exited the beach. I was absolutely amazed he found them both!! Thank you so much to Jeff for his quick response, extra effort to make sure he covered all areas, and a great result!! Thank you!”

Misplaced Rings, Found Westlock, Alberta Canada

I received a call from Kimberly this morning asking if I could help her grandmother locate her misplaced wedding/engagement rings at her home out in Westlock, Alberta, which is approximately 40 miles north of me. I told Kimberley I could be out there by 1Pm.

I met with Kimberley’s grandmother, and Arlene started telling me that the rings had much sentimental value to her as they had been in her possession for over 60 years.  The rings were loose on her finger and could possibly be in any of four locations: the car, house, grocery store, or coffee shop.

I checked her car, house, and back yard with no luck. I decided to head out to the store where Arlene told me that she had picked up groceries and some corn out of a bin and that possibly the rings fell off and were in with the corn. I asked the store supervisor if anyone had handed in rings and nobody had, next I went to the coffee shop, same thing, no rings. I then checked with the RCMP to see if anyone had handed in any rings and no one had so I decided to go to the only jewelry store in town to see if someone had tried to pawn some rings in the last couple of days and no one had. After exhausting all possible leads I decided to head back with Arlene to the house and have a final search while still asking questions. That is when Arlene told me that yesterday she had bathed her dog, washed and dried the towels, and then had put the towels away under the sink.  There amongst the towels were her rings!

Arlene was so happy to have her rings back on her finger once again.

Car Key Lost in the Sand – Found and Returned North Myrtle Beach SC

I was on my way home from doing an interview for a local news station about The Ring Finders when I received a call from Brian. Brian was visiting from Charlotte with his family and he wasn’t sounding real happy! He said his little brother, Maury had been doing a little late evening partying on the beach and had their mother’s car and other keys. Partying with keys on the beach late at night usually doesn’t end well as it was in this case. I got the location and headed in his direction.

I got there in about 20 minutes and got to meet Maury who was keeping a real low profile. It was either because of the partying last night or because he had a whole family pretty upset with him! It was more likely the latter because the family, at least 7 of them, was going to have to fit into 1 car with all the luggage and drive four plus hours back to Charlotte to get the spare set of keys. Then a couple of them turn back around, drive back to North Myrtle Beach get the 2nd car and drive back to Charlotte. I had to get this young man out of the dog house. Luckily mom (Saundra) pretty much knew the area the keys were lost in because the family had been out trying to sift through the sand with their hands to find the keys. I made about 4 passes on my grid search and got a big signal, too big and too deep for the loss keys. Dug it out and I believe it was one of Maury’s “beverage” cans. I ran my coil over and next to the hole and got another signal, one scoop and there they were. I held the keys up for Saundra to see and I think she did a little dance. I know Maury was feeling much better and probably relieved he would get to be inside the car on the ride home.  

Saundra and Brian, it was great meeting you and your family today, you’re an awesome bunch!!! Maury good luck to you buddy. Take this as a “good” lessons learned and stay out of trouble. You all have a safe trip home and thank you so much for trusting in me to help find your keys.

Cold Storage Beach holds diamond engagement ring overnight – found and returned – Cape Cod

A call for help came via a referral. E-mails followed; one with annotations on a beach photo nailed down the lost ring’s location. After I completed a few to-dos at home I headed off to the beach where I had to use a bit of compassion to have the parking fee waived. I parked, donned my gear and I was off, all set to search the beach. After an unsuccessful first round of searching, I changed detectors and headed back to the sand. I then spoke with a few beach sitters, who were waiting for the sun to set, as to just what I was doing so close to them. To my surprise I was told that they had been present the day before when the ring was lost. I was directed to an area just a few feet away that I had already searched, and Bingo, there was the platinum ring. I thanked the beach sitters as I showed them what I had been looking for and wished them a beautiful sunset and then I left to call Valerie.

A very excited Valerie made arrangements to meet the following day for the ring’s return. She showed up with a spectacular and very fragrant hyacinth and a lovely hand written Thank You card. Photos were taken and a few stories passed. A comment was made about my Japanese Red Maple tree and as it just so happened I had been growing a few and would not let Valerie leave without one for her yard.

A day of Smiles all around!

Man’s Tungsten Wedding Band Lost in the Surf – Found and Returned North Myrtle Beach SC

I got an email, followed up by a phone call, from Joe G. visiting here with his family from Ohio. Joe said he had lost his Tungsten wedding band in the surf and was wondering if I could help find it. I got the details, told him I’d be there in 20 minutes and asked him to alert the gate guard that I’d be coming.

When I got there Joe’s dad, Russell, was waiting at the gate to escort me to the beach area. Shortly after Russell and I got to the approximate area, Joe showed up and put me just about dead on the spot. On my 2nd pass I got the signal but on my third scoop I was wondering if I had Joe’s ring because this was deeper than I thought it should be in this short amount of time. I flattened out the sand I had scooped and saw the outline of a ring, brushed it off and it was the right one!!! Joe and Russell were both amazed we found it. Joe’s wife Maria and his mother were looking down from the resort balcony as Joe waved that we had it.

Joe and Maria, thank you so much for trusting in me to help find your lost treasure. Enjoy your last night in town and have a safe trip back home.

Lost Electronic Car Key.. Dockwieler State Beach, Playa Del Rey, CA. .. Recovered from Sand

Jimmy and his wife Kimberly had come to Dockweiler State Beach to enjoy the evening with a fire on the beach. SoCalif. beaches have 100’s of fire pits on our beaches and they are in most cases very well kept.

That evening Jimmy played frizby with his daughter. He believed his Mercedes electronic key fob with several important keys fell from the pocket of his jacket while running around near the fire pit site.
The next day he returned to the location with a rake. After several hours of raking ( have you ever raked a football field?) Somebody suggested he call TheRingFinders. That’s when I got involved. We met on the beach and he showed me a large ( 1/2 football field size area )

I was sure that I could find it but not sure how long it would take. Sometimes you pick the right place to start your grid and it’s a short search. Jimmy had wanted me to start in one place and his wife was sure it was in another place. They had a dinner reservations so they couldn’t stay.

I can concentrate better on my grid while searching by myself. Thirty minutes later, Bingo ! Keys in the scoop.. His wife was right which made her happy and Jimmy was happy he didn’t have to tell his boss he had lost the work keys. .. It was a good search because I also had a chance to check out my XP Deus in some highly mineralized conditions with a lot of iron bits ( mostly nails ).
I called them with the good news and dropped the keys off at their house.

We don’t write up our no find stories. I have many, if the item isn’t there, it can’t be found. I will try anyway just because I know I can find it, if it’s hiding there. Love the challenge!

Man’s Tungsten Wedding Band Lost in the Ocean, Found and Returned North Myrtle Beach SC

After having two unsuccessful ring hunts today, one being on a golf course and the other “possibly” lost in the wet sand two days ago, I was ready for a change in luck. As I was leaving the beach on the second hunt I checked my e-mail and saw mail from Philip N. saying he lost his Tungsten Wedding band in about 2 foot of water earlier in the afternoon and wondered if I could help find it. I e-mailed him back saying I was on my way and to call me.

About five minutes out Philip called and we agreed to meet on the beach. As I’m walking out on the beach I see a young man walking along the surf line looking a little desperate, we greeted and I had him explain what had happened. He said he and his friends had been throwing a ball around when his ring flew off his finger. This is never a good thing because judging the flight of a ring isn’t always possible especially in the ocean. I told him that he didn’t need to stick around and to go ahead and get some dinner with his buddies and that I’d call “when” I found it. I started my grid search a good 15 feet outside his suspected area and on my second pass in knee deep water, I got a banging signal. I think the search and recovery time was 2-3 minutes. I walked off the beach and across the street to the rental house they were staying in. Philip and a few of his buddies were sitting out on the balcony wondering why I was finished so quickly. As I held up my finger with his ring on it, I asked him if his ring looked like this. I think he literally flew down the stairs.

Philip thank you for contacting me and trusting in me to find and return your ring. Sorry I didn’t get the opportunity to meet your wife but I’m sure she was excited to hear the good news!!! Enjoy the rest of your vacation.
