University of Toronto Master of Laws Graduate loses Family Heirloom Gold ring

  • from Brampton (Ontario, Canada)

I received a phone call from Jessica who was heartbroken as she lost a very sentimental Family heirloom pure gold ring that was made in Shanghai. Jessica graduated from the University of Toronto with a Master of Laws degree just two weeks ago! She wore her ring for her graduate photos. The wind caught Jessica’s graduation cap. Jessica quickly reached for the cap and felt her loose ring fly off her hand. The Family searched the area for some time with no luck. Even some of the University staff helped to look for her ring.

Jessica then obtained permission from the University of Toronto staff to allow a metal detectorist from ‘The Ring Finders’ directory to assist! I alway respect private property and am grateful to be granted permission to detect and help recover Jessica’s special ring! I would love to have permission to go back to recover & donate all the lost relics/history still in the ground! Saving history from generations ago! Who knows, there could be more lost U of T alumni rings!

I had many memories flooding back just driving down to the location! I even shed a few tears. You see, my late Father WO George Walker worked for Toronto Hydro for 40 years! As well, my Father was a well know bagpiper for the 48th Highlanders of Canada for over 50 years! He piped many weddings at Hart House and well as graduations ceremonies at the University of Toronto and York University! Happy proud tears for sure!

Check out the video of the ring return surprise! Great deal of thanks also to the Campus Police Officer Matthew for going along with the prank surprise as Jessica had left the location for a quick coffee!

This unique pure gold ring is not like any normal ring as it is a wrap-around ring with no connecting loop! Jesica and I thought the ring was 14k but it turns out the inside symbols represents the makers mark, a karat stamp referring to 99 pure gold and the number 14 which refers to ring size 14! Who knew!

Thank you Jessica for your generous donation to the Kelly Shires Breast Cancer Foundation and entrusting me to help recover and return your priceless Family Heirloom graduation gift from your beloved Grandmother!! Happy, healthy, bright and safe future ahead and many years to come!!

“I FIND JEWELRY”  call Stan the Metal Detector Man if you need  help ..  949-500-2136

****Erick and his family live near San Clemente. They regularly come the this same small beach and everybody knows each other. The week before his friend lost a platinum out in the ocean while surfing.

Erick normally doesn’t take his ring off but this day he decided he didn’t want to lose it in the water. He took his platinum wedding ring off wrapping it in a towel that he place on a large rock. When he returned from the water his ring was not in the towel. He was baffled because he had not moved the towel before checking for his ring.

He was able to call me for help finding his ring with my metal detector. We met in the parking lot. Then he told me he believed it may have been stolen. He wanted to make sure it hadn’t been dropped in the sand. We walked to the large boulder were he put his belongings.

I was afraid that the ring might have fallen into many inaccessible spaces between the breakwater size rocks. This time we were lucky. The ring was under the sand right next the place were the towel had been. We figured that someone may have moved the towel while Erick was surfing. Sometimes we never know what caused the loss. The most important thing is we found and returned the sentimental wedding ring. Erick was elated and very happy that it wasn’t lost forever.

Lost Gold Cartier Love Ring at Hale Koa Waikiki…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began when I got a call from Daniel who lives in Honolulu. While enjoying the day and playing volleyball on the Hale Koa beach his girlfriend Kiana lost her Gold Cartier Love ring in the water while going after a stray ball. They searched for about an hour but never found the ring. His friend told him to Google search and that’s how he found the ring finders. I told Daniel I could grab my gear and be there in 15 minutes. When I arrived Daniel introduced me to Kiana and she proceeded to show me how she lost the Love ring which was so small she actually wore it as a toe ring and felt it come off as she ran into the water. We set the grid lines and I started the search. Kiana only went five feet into the water which was waist deep. On the second leg of the grid I got a nice tone in the wet sand and in one scoop there was Kiana’s Gold Love ring. I let her reach in and retrieve the ring and then she asked if she could give me a hug. But of course! She said the ring had strong sentimental value to her and she was very thankful for the successful search. Aloha to Kiana & Daniel!

Platinum Wedding Band Lost In Yard Clippings Redmond WA

Yesterday a gentleman contacted me asking if I could help him find his lost platinum wedding band. He explained he had been cleaning up some yard clippings in a very small area of his yard and pitching them into a yard waste bin. He shared his wife was upset over this and that he had to figure out a way to get his ring back. After our brief phone conversation we set a schedule to meet up for the search the next morning.

Having been told that he had a full bin full of yard clippings I came prepared with a tarp, and a few tools to help with the work. After he showed me the area on the side of his home where he had been picking up the clippings it looked like a fairly straight forward search site. He was not wearing gloves and it had been a bit colder out. My first plan was to search the area where he had been picking up the yard clippings. He then showed me the full bin of scraps and when doing so I learned that he had recovered his other wedding band from the top of this bin at the same time he lost the ring I was called to search for. With this new knowledge I focused on clearing the bin of yard clippings first. After I processed the yard waste bin with no ring found we knew it had been cleared and continued on.

After working the side yard for a bit of time scanning the ground still with leftover clippings scattered about and still no ring. He had told me that it was a smaller platinum band but I knew it was still enough for my machine to detect. This just meant the ring could be easily hiding out and I would need to be very diligent in my search as not to miss the ring. In the middle of this work area there is two bushes that had been cut down leaving some sturdy stocks about a foot and a half tall like a porcupine. As I kept searching over the flat dirt and not finding his ring my growing concern was that his ring may have dropped down inside either of these two porcupine bushes. Finally I was left with very little options and started poking my pinpointer trough the deep stalks of the cut back bushes. After processing both bushes and almost no more plant to search my pinpointer went crazy! Bingo I had located his ring and he was very appreciative of all the services provided. It was nice to return this wedding ring of fifteen years back to this gentleman’s finger were it belongs.

Cheers,

Jeff Morgan

I received a desperation call from Hana. She had lost her Cartier gold and diamond bracelet in the sand at the beach. She had been shooting a video for her Social Media page when sometime during the shoot her bracelet came off and disappeared. She had left the beach before she knew it was gone, and was worried about getting to it right away. I agreed with her about doing the search as soon as possible, so I gathered what I needed, and was on my way.

When I got to the area I had a bit of a hard time finding the access point to get to where she was, and there was no cell phone coverage for my carrier, so I was not able to contact her. After studying the photos Hana sent me, and driving around, I finally was able to find the access point, and Hana was waiting for me. She took me down to where she was filming, and showed me the area. It was a rather long, but a narrow path that she had run down on the beach. She went to the furthest point and waited, as I set up for my search. I began, swung about 3 times, got a great solid gold signal in the head phones, and dug. I pulled out the sand and dumped it out. Right on top was Hana’s bracelet big and beautiful. I held it up for her, and I think it took a couple seconds for her to realize that I found it so quickly, but when she came back she reminded everyone that she suspected it had been lost in that area. It was great to be able to reunite Hana and her bracelet. Sometimes the loss of such an item can be disheartening, but all smiles this time.

  • from Kelowna (British Columbia, Canada)
Contact:

Natalie spent an hour riding her horse around the arena, when she got home she noticed that her white gold wedding ring was missing.

Her husband found The Ringfinders site and sent me an email, I responded the next day and met Natalie at 4pm when the classes for the day were finished.

I started gridding the arena, fortunately there was very little metal junk in the arena and with 30 minutes we had the ring back on her finger.

Lost Gold Ring Found In Royal Oak Michigan

  • from Detroit (Michigan, United States)

Hang’Em High!

Unfortunately, this is not a story about lost jewelry or outlaw loot found for Marshal Jed Cooper played by Clint Eastwood, but rather begins in a quiet city outside Detroit when I received a call from Karen who said her son had lost his wedding band while hanging Christmas lights high up on the house to surprise his wife when she got home. Although she was thrilled to see them high up in place, the mood changed when she learned of the missing ring which he’s had for less than a month. When I arrived he was not sure where the ring could be as he was traversing the whole yard multi-tasking. It was a small yard so it didn’t take long to search the back and sides which revealed nothing. Searching the front of the house where he was hanging the lights also revealed nothing. As I started to search further out my MXT sounded off on a metal object. Close to the underground water line I thought it may have been the water shut off but the signal was much smaller. Brushing a leaf aside revealed this shiny gold ring that was slightly compressed into the ground inches away from the sidewalk and at least 15 feet from the house! Pausing for a moment I waved Karen over who thought I was taking a break as did her son who was out by the garage. I pointed down and a huge smile was on her face. She said how’d it get way out here? I was puzzled myself and when her son got to us and reached down to pick it up he said wow that’s weird, it must have come off and stepped on when I was stretching the lights out. Now that made more sense. All was thrilled that the mystery of the missing ring was unraveled and now things are really looking a lot like Christmas!

Lost Engagement Ring found in Hopedale MA

  • from Woonsocket (Rhode Island, United States)
Contact:

On November 10, 2020, I received an e-mail from Jimena about her lost engagement ring.  She and her fiance Ivan were raking leaves two days earlier, and at some point, she noticed that her engagement ring was missing. They knew the ring had to be either in their yard or where they had dumped leaves.  Jimena and Ivan even bought a metal detector but couldn’t find the ring. That’s when Jimena searched the internet for help and found me through The Ring Finders website.  The next day,  I searched several areas, including an area across the street from their home where they dumped leaves and their front and side yards, with no luck.  Before searching the backyard,  I decided to search a pile of yard waste located at the far end of their yard, where Jimena said she had thrown some of the leaves.  I got into the pile of sticks, grass, and leaves and started my search.  The second target I hit, buried in the leaves, was the beautiful engagement ring.  Jimena and Ivan were so happy to have the ring back before their wedding, which was the next month.  I’m glad that I was able to find the ring and wish them a long and happy marriage.

White Gold Wedding Ring Lost in Grass of Yard in Los Angeles…Found and Happily Returned.

Jennifer emailed me asking if I could help her in finding her husband’s wedding ring. She wasn’t sure about when (within the last couple of days) or where it was lost, but had the locations of a possible loss narrowed down to a few different areas. We arranged to do a search the next day.

I got to Jennifer’s house, and she came to show me the possible zones of where she and her husband thought the ring might have been lost. As she was showing me, I could see that they had the most luxurious grass with long leaves, and thick thatch which could easily hide a ring. She showed me an area of the front yard, and then took me into the backyard to show me where her husband does his daily work out in the same luxurious grass. I decided that the backyard site should be the first to search knowing that there was a lot of movement from the exercise that could dislodge a ring. I began, and after 2 passes, found the ring in about 5 minutes. I walked over to Jennifer to say that I felt I was working too hard, to which I received a short puzzled look, just long enough to then hold up her husband’s ring. She couldn’t believe it had been found in such a short time, I was fortunate to have chosen the right place to start the  search. She called her husband Alex to give him his ring, he was also surprised when I showed him where it had been lost. Two great smiles!
