Lost White Gold Cross at Waimanalo Beach…FOUND!!!

This Christian Cross hunt began when I got a call from Eli who hails from Kansas and is a Marine stationed at Kaneohe Marine Corps Base. While enjoying a picnic at the beach he took off his White Gold Cross and laid it on a towel. Later when he went to retrieve his necklace he found the chain but the cross had disappeared. It was getting dark but several of his Marine buddies pitched in but they couldn’t locate the cross. After posting on a lost and found website he was contacted by a gentleman who told him to try “Theringfinders”. We agreed to meet at the nearby McDonalds and then drove down to the beach. It was already dark so I brought my headlamp and Eli brought a flashlight. In the dark it was difficult to pinpoint the exact area so I decided to do an expanded search. It was a rather sterile beach except a buried firepit that was booming with metal trash right smack in the middle of the search area. I eliminated all the possible targets then moved on. I could see Eli was losing hope as I was down to my last grid line after 40 minutes of searching. Then finally I got a number 1/2 on the Equinox and I looked down and there sticking up out of the sand was one of the arms of the cross. It was glinting in the light of my headlamp so I bent over picked it up and handed it to Eli. He was overcome with joy as it was looking hopeless. Had the cross fallen a few more inches toward the water the tide surge from the night before would have swallowed up the cross and it wouldn’t have been found without a miracle in the water. Eli was extremely grateful as we bid each other so long. Aloha to Eli and Mahalo for your service to this great nation.

Wedding Ring Lost in Park Playground Sand in Culver City, CA…Found and Returned.

I received a call from Asher today, he had lost his wedding ring while pushing his daughter on a swing in his local park. He said it had happened today, and it sounded as though he had not left the area, so everything was sounding like there would be a successful recovery. Knowing this was in a public place the emphasis is on getting there for the search as soon as possible, so I told him I would leave right away.

When I got to the park, I walked over where the swings are, and Asher met me to show me what and where the loss happened. He had actually witnessed the ring coming off of his finger and hitting the sand, so he knew where it had gone, but yet he searched for over an hour with no luck in finding it. It is really amazing how the sand will swallow up a ring or piece of jewelry to where it is impossible to find. Fortunately I use the best equipment made for such a recovery, and have the experience to make the recovery happen. Like I tell the people who call me, if it is there I will find it. One short pass, and two scoops later Asher’s ring was in my scoop. He was very happy. This ring represented 3 years of loving commitment for him, he wanted it back, and I was happy to be able to make that happen for him. Awesome day!

Lost Platinum Ladies Ring With Diamonds Found in the Snow in Royal Oak Michigan

Just got back from a night search for this very nice, pictured couple. They were at the hospital tonight visiting an ill loved one and walking back to the car she pulled her gloves off and 2 pieces of her 3 piece ring came off in about 4″-5″ of snow that came down yesterday. They found the main piece and when I got on site they had been searching thru the snow with gloved hands and flashlights for the thinner ring. There was some lights but seeing was more enhanced by the big snow supermoon shining from above giving the glistening snow a sparkly surface. She had the matching ring so I took a read with the MXT from different directions and got +6 and +8. I started to scan and grid at 90 deg swings in the trajectory from where she was standing and where they found the other matching ring. She had gone to the car to double check if the ring was in there and him and I kept searching.
I got a few iron and foil signals and after a few minutes I got a +6 and +8 but very short signals. Probing the snow with the Garrett carrot revealed this beautiful thin platinum band tipped at a 45 deg angle just as she got into the car. I said I got it and he yelled to her and we waved our hands and arms in the air to get her attention. She excitedly ran back to us and happily grasped the ring and quickly put it back on! The temporary loss of the sentimental ring, the excitement of the search and quick recovery got our heart rates up really high but now 3 beating hearts are all back in the normal range again!

Lost Gold & Diamond Band at Nai’a Lagoon Ko Olina Resort…FOUND!!!

This ring find began when I got a call from Janet from Montana who was celebrating her 25th Anniversary with her husband Luis at the Marriott Ko Olina. While snorkeling in Nai’a Lagoon, Luis spotted some Anuenue fish and in his excitement his stunning Gold & Diamond Band came off in about 10 feet of water. He had his wits about himself to immediately locate where he was in the water. He noticed he was about 10 feet from the swim buoy anchor however the water on the bottom was murky and he couldn’t see his ring. When they got ashore and spoke to the concierge she said to give “Joe” a call and he should be able to recover it for you. We met on the beach the next morning and Luis gave me the details to the ring coming off. When the sun was shining on the lagoon I commenced my scuba hunt. The buoy anchor is easy enough to find so I started the hunt. I immediately found a silver ring. Fanning out from the buoy anchor I found a few more targets but the area was silting up fast and it was difficult to navigate. After about 40 minutes I was getting ready to give up when several feet from the anchor I got a screaming low tone on the Excalibur. Sure enough one sweep of my hand and Luis’ Gold Ring appeared. It was quite a bit farther then expected from the anchor but at least it was now found. I still had plenty of air so I hunted the lagoon a bit more finding a silver band and a gold plated heart ring. When I got ashore I called Luis and Janet and told them the good news. We met on the beach for the return and after a few hugs I knew the Anniversary was saved. Aloha to Luis & Janet!

Lost White Gold Wedding Band in Honu Lagoon Ko Olina Resort…FOUND!!!

This ring find began when I got an email Wednesday night from Pat who lives on Oahu. During a family visit from Seattle they decided to enjoy a day at Ko Olina Lagoons. Pat was snorkeling towards his sister when his white gold wedding band came off his finger in about six feet of water. He could see the ring lying in the sand at the bottom but when he dove down to get it the ring disappeared into the soft white sand. Another gentleman joined in to help but all the sand fanning wouldn’t expose the ring to them. Pat went ashore and was frantically trying to find an underwater metal detector to rent when he found TheRingFinders. After which he sent the email. I called Pat and told him I could meet him at the lagoons Friday morning to search for the ring. I decided it would be best for scuba because I can cover more ground in water deeper then my head that way. Pat showed me the general area and I started my search. After about 45 minutes and the search area complete I found only a few coins and two rings but not Pat’s. We consulted on the beach as to what direction to continue and Pat thought maybe since he was going towards his sister I should continue that direction also. It paid off. About ten minutes later I got a booming tone on the Excalibur and with one scoop of my hand there was Pats wedding ring. I popped up and yelled to Pat on the shoreline. “Got it!” Pat was extremely relieved and said his wife would be just as happy as he was at that moment. Best hobby in the world! Aloha to Pat!

Lost Keys Recovered from the snow in Victoria B.C.

I got a phone call from Amanda’s dad asking if I could help his daughter recover her keys lost in a park in the snow. Amanda is a single mom with a two month old baby. She was out at a park in the snow and lost her only keys to her car and apartment. Amanda contacted me on Thursday and I searched in a snow storm with no luck. I returned today Friday and bingo on the side of the road recovered her keys. You never saw anyone so happy to get them back, I was getting desperate she told me I needed to get out to buy food. I love my job.

Lost White Gold Ring with Diamonds found with Dowsing Rod in Perry Michigan

Playing Hard To Get…..

……was the temperament of the ring lost by this pictured woman’s husband. It all started when the snow came down heavy a few days ago as the husband walked over to the propane tank and lifted the cap to put money under it for the propane company driver. The husband realized that night that his ring was missing and remembered pushing snow off the tank. My Ringfinder friend Gregg had already been there when the site was deep snow prior to calling me out to help and could not locate it by metal detecting all of the area where the husband was walking. He even checked under the tank visually to no avail. When I got on site most of the snow had melted and we detected a bit more in different areas she thought the husband may have been. We also took another look under the tank and the detectors kept going off when we got near the tank. I went back to my vehicle and got out my dowsing rod and started to dowse the area to see if an attraction developed while my friend kept ground scanning. Walking with the rod I started to feel a lock in a certain direction towards the propane tank. Next to the tank was a huge pile of debris. I continued to walk around the pile and tank, boxing in the lock lines the dowsing rod indicated and got a definite pull towards the pile. My friend was packing up his gear ready to leave and she was disappointed that nothing had become of 2 of us detecting with nothing to show when suddenly a line of sight revealed this gorgeous white gold RING! just in front of the white board right where the dowsing rod was indicating! When we were visually looking earlier the small white board was blocking our view of the ring. When I yelled to come over here her face lit up with excitement as I pointed towards the pile and said look just past that white board! We concluded that the husband’s ring came off while brushing snow off the tank and slid close to that board in the debris area which my friend and I couldn’t search with standard metal detectors due to the metal tank. So even tho the ring was playing hard to get, it backfired and gave it up to dowsing. It’s now back where it belongs resting comfortably on the finger it was meant for and making the relationship between husband and wife so much better than the typical results of playing hard to get!

LOST WEDDING BAND IN LAKE CHARLES, LA. – FOUND

Susan called to ask for help in finding her husband’s lost tungsten wedding band.  It was slung off his wet finger a month before when opening their camper door. Carrie and I left the next day for the 70 mile trip. On arriving, we found the grassy search area to be small in the RV lot. We began the search of the lot. Next to the grassy area was a fenced area for a water system. Sid hunted the fenced area facing the RV. After 2 hours of searching and re-searching the yard and rock driveway, we had not found the ring. Susan, Carrie and Sid had gathered up near the rear side of the water system to discuss the next step when Carrie saw a sparkle from the rocks around the water system. In plain view laying on the rocks was the ring. Lost items are not always where you expect them to be. After the happy trio took pictures, we were on our way back home. Thank you, Susan, for your generous reward.

House Key Lost in the Sand at Hermosa Beach, CA…Found and Returned.

I got a call last week from a gentleman who was on vacation from Switzerland with a friend, and staying with a another friend a the beach. It seems as though they were out at the beach sitting watching the waves, that the key their friend had given them to enter the house was lost in the sand, and they were unable to find it after about 2 hours of searching. I told them I would be able to be there in about 30 minutes, and was on my way.

When I got to the beach I found them waiting at beach bar, and they took me out to the area of the loss. They showed me where they had been sitting, so I began my search. It took me about 3 passes, and then I got the sound I was wanting to hear. I put the scoop in and had the key. The guys were very happy to have it back, wanting to not feel as they let their friend down by losing his key. Some thankful guys for sure.

Safety Deposit Box Key Lost in Center Grass Median of Busy Blvd. in Bell Gardens, CA…Found and Returned.

II received a call from a young lady who had lost a safety deposit key. She thought she was holding an old key that was no longer usable, but her sister had given her the good key instead. As she was driving down the street she was thinking about the key and decided it was no longer needed, so she threw it out of the car window. It wasn’t until she contacted her sister later that she found out she had thrown out the much needed key.

When I got there she met me and told me all that had happened, and showed me the median. It was about 4:00 PM, on a weekday with a lot of traffic from people getting off of work on their way home. The median was no more than 8 feet wide, so checking on the tones that were on the edge would put me within inches of passing vehicles. The area was about 100 feet long, and I needed to make sure I covered to whole area because she had been moving, and the key most likely bounced when it hit, and was in an area further along from where it had been released. Fortunately she had another key similar to the one that was lost, so I was able to get a reading off of it to know what I was needing to hear. I found a lot of different types of metal during the search, and it wasn’t until neared the end of the median that I found the key underneath the grass. When I brought it back to her, she was very relieved and happy to have it back. Glad to have made her day.
