LOST DIAMOND RING FOUND WAIKIKI

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This all started when Lana gave me a call early August 8th  and asked if i would help look for her wedding ring which she lost in the water almost a week and a half ago. I let her know that I will do my best and give it a shot. Knowing that Waikiki is a detectors favorite and its been over a week I needed to get down there ASAP and bring along with me help. So, I asked my dad if he would be willing to help and as always… Dad said yes and we were out to Waikiki that very morning. After 4 and 1/2 hours my dad and I came up short. NO ring! We went home knowing we gave it a good scan but there was some variables like tide and there were a lot of people in the water. So, The very next morning I get a gut feeling to go back and look. I drive back out to Waikiki and start looking again. After 45 minutes I get a faint sound and decide to dig it. I dig a big scoop of sand out and toss it on the sea floor and run my coil over the hole. BOOM I get a louder tone and it sounds like gold. A few more digs and I run my coil over the gaping hole in the ocean bed in which i don’t hear anything. So, I run my coil over the mounds of sand that has been removed and BOOM its there. I scoop and whats inside my scoop is a huge size 11 14K White gold with diamonds and a center 2 karat diamond in the middle. I knew I found her ring. As i am on my way back to the shoreline to rinse off I see Hawaii News Now setup by the showers and I ask them if the lady from yesterday is ok? The exchange words and then Billy V from hawaii news now asked the question… Did you find her ring? i said YES! He asked to see it and if it would be ok to let hawaii News Now run a short story about this event. I said yes and the lights went on and then came ACTION! We were able to call Lana and film the good news of HOPE and ALOHA. Well this was definitely GOD orchestrated and the saying is true… ALOHA  IS ALIVE.

Lost wedding ring North Shore FOUND!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

It was Sunday morning around 5 AM and I take a look at my missed calls while checking emails. That’s when I noticed there was a voicemail of a lost wedding ring at Sunset beach on the North Shore. I responded to the voicemail via text. The couple, Sean and Megan now were on vacation from Utah. We agreed to meet up so my family and I headed down to Sunset Beach.

When we arrived at their address Sean took us to the back of their beautiful vacation rental which is steps away to the beach. Meeting the family and getting the story on how Megan unfortunately lost her ring was heart wrenching. She was playing in the sun and enjoying the water with the kids and after sometime in the water she looked at her hand and noticed that her ring of 19 years fell off her finger and she didn’t know where! In desperation The family tried snorkeling but didn’t find it.

I gathered all the information I needed and headed down the beach. I asked Sean if he can grab a bunch of the white rocks in the sand to help line the bottom of the ocean floor as markers while I search and grid out the area. I decided to start from the deepest part and work my way to the shallows as the tide was on the rise! I did one pass around chest deep to over head and nothing. But, as I started to make my next line I got a loud “platinum” sound in the deeper part of the sandbar. I started to dig and fan all along looking and praying this is the lost ring. I then notice a ring, approximately 6” buried in the sand with the markings described of Megan’s ring, a big and thick Platnuim band with yellow gold that surrounding a diamond. I was sooooo excited to find it! As I grabbed it and looked up towards the beach where the entire family stood looking at myself and Sean, I held up her RING and Megan’s sister shouted… “I think he found it!” And the whole family was moved with emotions and tears as i can hear them excited and in awe. So, I handed Sean his wife’s lost but FOUND wedding ring. As Sean headed up the beach he met his wife in the yard and got on one knee to put back on her finger. The precious ring symbolized  his love for her.

To the Stolhs … THIS FIND WAS ANSWERED PRAYERS! Another vacation saved and another happy ending!  Glad to help and have a blessed time on the North Shore!

LOST WEDDING RING IN WAIKIKI FOUND

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find started in the late evening around 9:00pm on June 16th. I noticed on craigslist an ad that said they lost their wedding ring in Waikiki. I respond to the ad and got a call back from Jay. Asked him a bunch of questions and Apparently there were 3 other detectors who tried looking for it and didn’t find it. I was a bit hesitant to go out and look knowingly that there were 3 others who looked and supposedly didn’t find it. I was hoping that someone didn’t find it or worse they may have found it but wasn’t truthful. My gut was telling me to go out there and help them so, I did. I let Jay know that I’m on my way and to make sure NO MORE METAL DETECTORS go through the area. I get to the beach and meet up with Jay and started to look… there in the search site was almost 60 drunk people partying on the beach, beer cans, rubbish, rough waves and a lot of coins. About 4 hours later I get a nice tone while I’m in chest deep water… there in my scoop is a beautiful 3.8 karat wedding ring. I look towards shore and turn on my headlamp so Jay can see me and start nodding my head so he knows the ring is found. I give a loud shout of praise and I hear the people on the beach yelling ” YOU FOUND IT?” as I reply “YES”. The people on the beach gathered around as I presented Jay His wife ring back. All i could hear were people yelling and excited that the ring was found. Jay and I both agreed to let his wife know so she could enjoy the return of here precious ring. Another successful recovery and another honeymoon saved. WHAT A GREAT FATHERS DAY GIFT!!!

LOST WEDDING RING IN WAIKIKI… FOUND!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This recovery started on June 27th with phone tag between Gabriel and myself late in the evening. Gabriel left me an email around noon time that explained He lost His wedding ring in the water at Waikiki. I knew Waikiki was a heavily hunted spot for metal detectors and needed to get down there ASAP before this ring is gone forever. I continued to call and email Gabriel until we finally got ahold of each other. I drove out to met up with the couple who are here on their honeymoon from Alberta Canada. We headed to the beach which we stood on the shoreline and I tried to gather as much information as possible. Gabriel explained to me where He and His wife were sitting and where they entered the water. This helped and really painted a picture for me which I was able to narrow down the search site. I encouraged the couple to pray and I let them know that if I find the ring while in the water since it’s dark I will turn on my head lamp and look towards them and make a nodding motion so they will know that the ring is found. I started my search and after a few passes I pick up a penny and a dime. And as i continued to look I get a great tone and start to dig… I hear something in the scoop and it sounds like a RING. I pulled out my Xtreme scoop from the water and there inside and is a 14K white Gold mens wedding band with the inscription of June 23, 2018. I knew it was Gabriels ring! I turned on my headlamp, made the nodding motion towards the anticipating couple on the shoreline and gave a loud shout of JOY. I headed back to shore where I could hear the couple talking… both excited and shocked. So, as I approched the couple who were stand anticipating the good news and extend my hand with Gabriels ring at the end of my fingertips… they both agreed that that it was his lost ring and now its found! They were amazed that I found it and in that short amount of time. It was with Gabriels help that put me in the right spot and it was definitely an ANSWERED PRAY ON ALL OF OUR REQUESTS.

Another successful recovery. Mahalo to Gabriel and Nancy May you guys enjoy your honeymoon / vacation the way you all deserve in Hawaii… TO LIVE ALOHA!

5 minute hunt… 14k white gold wedding band lost, found, and returned! TRF Celina, Ohio

  • from Celina (Ohio, United States)

I received a call Wednesday (6/20/18) from Tim. While doing some yard work and planting some bushes at his home in Botkins Ohio the previous Friday he had realized that he had lost his wedding ring.

His 14k white gold wedding band had been a replacement for a wedding ring that he had lost a few years before. It had always fit a little loose and after planting the first bush he noticed it lying on the ground. He quickly picked it up and placed it back on his finger while thinking to himself that he really needed to get something done about the loose fit to avoid losing it. Minutes later after finishing his yard work he realized he had lost the ring yet again before he made it into the house. He related his story to me telling me that he was fairly confident that he knew a general area where it may have been lost. He was reviewing his options on what he should do. Should I buy a metal detector and try to locate it? Should I try to order a new ring? (Kind of pricey to keep doing that.)

After a few questions I told him that I was fairly confident that it could successfully be recovered and most likely in a very short amount of time. It had to most likely be in the area he thought and right on top of the ground. We made plans to get together Saturday (6/23/18).

Since the area was small and the target should be right on the surface of the ground I thought it might be fun to bring along a second metal detector so that he could try his hand at it as well. I set the detector up for him and after taking a few minutes to show him what a white gold ring would ring up like on the machine and explaining that it should be right on the surface of the ground we were off and looking for his missing ring.

Imagine the surprise when 5 minutes or so later I came back to where he was searching and asked his wife if she could take a picture for me. She kindly replied that she could take a picture for me and then I turned to Tim and asked him if a picture of this would be good.

I gladly held my hand out and handed him back his lost wedding ring!

5-minute hunt… 14k white gold wedding band recovered and returned…. Happy to see the ring returned and another happy ending! So glad to be a part of it!

LOST WEDDING RING HALE KOA WAIKIKI FOUND

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

On April 10 2018 I was in class and got a call from Matt who just arrived today with his family and they are on vacation. He informs me that he lost his wedding ring while playing in the water with his beautiful daughter. I tell Matt to give me an Hour and a half because my detector is on the other side of the island.  In the meantime while I’m heading out to get my gear I called matt and asked him to pull up google maps and make me a map. I asked him to try and locate the spot where he believes the ring came off and draw a circle on the map to limit my search area. I asked if he could put me in the right area by narrowing my search site as it was 4:30pm and the sun was on its way down. Well, after much traffic I arrive and meet up with Matt. I get to the beach and gear up. After a few passes I get a great tone/reading. I look in my scoop and there it is Matts wedding. I turn to MATT who is looking on the shoreline and ask him ” What kind of wedding band?” Which I knew very well it’s his. He says “it’s a gold wedding band… did you find it?” I tell him to take a look in the scoop and the sheer JOY that came from his response “YES I CANT BELIVE IT!” was very comforting. As we were leaving BOTH very excited I asked MATT… So, what do you think your wife will say? He smiles and says she will be pleasantly surprised! Another recovery with a happy heart! Now you can enjoy the island and have a great vacation! Best wishes and GOD BLESS.

Wedding Band found in North Malibu

  • from Seal Beach (California, United States)

Mike Hall called me on a Saturday night. He was pretty frantic; the previous evening he was eating at a restaurant in north Malibu by Zuma Beach and playing with his son after dinner in the sand, and his wedding band came flying off. It was dark out, so they did a quick search, but came up empty handed. I moved some plans around and met him out there the next day, Sunday evening, after traffic died down. It still took about two & a half hours to make the 80 mile drive. I got there, and Mike and his family were nice enough to save a parking spot for me right next to the sand. I asked him to try his best to remember exactly where he was in the sand when he was playing with his son, in relation to the parking lot, trash cans, and surrounding in general. I took out my Whites Duo Field Pulse machine and started to grid the area. I was finding many trash targets like small nails and bottle caps, but after more guidance from Mike and his son, I was able to narrow down the search pattern to a strip at the back of the beach just parallel to the cars. It wasn’t long before I heard a loud repeatable signal that sounded promising. One scoop, and there was Mike’s ring. He was elated and the whole family was jumping for joy. He then shared the story of the significance of the ring’s history. The ring had been passed down for generations, from his great-grandfather, down to him. What really touched my heart, was that his young son who was there, asked his dad, “How can I get married someday, dad, if the ring isn’t there to be passed down to me?”

Something Fishy!

  • from Orange (California, United States)

Tom called and said he had lost his ring in his Koi fish pond while putting in a bubbler system for the fish.
He noted that his ring was loose, just prior to going in the water, and thought “I Better be careful and not lose it.”
After putting in the bubbler system, that evening he went to take it off and put it on his dresser as usual, and noticed it was gone.
Visually searching the pond, which was fairly clear and just had 1″ gravel on the bottom, but could not see it. He called me and we set up a time to meet. Upon arrival, we went to the pond and he offered waders, but I wore my shorts and water sandals in prep. He said it was really cold, and I said not to worry, I am used to the beach.
It was deeper that I thought, about 2′ and Coooollllddd as heck!
I pretended it was not that cold, and began searching with my AT-MAX. Tom watched a minute then went over to roll up the hose, and I heard him shout “I Found it!”.
He forgot that he had hosed off the patio after finishing in the pond, and it must have slipped off then, and it was just under a chair on the patio. I was happy he found it, but happier to get out of that freezing water. lol
Though I did not find it with my detector, he said if I had not come out there, he would not have looked over there and I thought that a gardener, or someone else may have found it instead. Such a nice guy, and he told me the story of why the ring meant so much to him, and I felt glad I had a part in finding the ring, even though my detector didn’t find it, but my presence did.

Ring Lost Several Years Ago in Levittown PA, Found by Dave Milsted

Several months ago I received a call from Trisha. She lost a ring several years ago in the yard of a friend in Levittown Pa. We texted back & forth and set up a date. The day before we were to look for the ring she sent me a message that there was a problem and she would get back to me. She kept in touch.

This week she texted and asked what my availability was. We agreed on Sunday morning at 8 am. I started packing up my truck at 6:30, and it starts pouring. Ok, better pack my rain gear and switch my detector to waterproof.

We met, and it is raining. I put on my bright yellow rain gear, pants, and jacket. I look like I am going to be on the show Deadliest Catch. Trisha takes me to the area that she believes the ring is located in. She was playing volleyball with friends and went to serve the ball. When she hit the ball, her ring went flying. She had warned me that there are a lot of bottle caps and pull tabs in the area, she was right!! Her husband had looked several years ago with a metal detector and didn’t have any luck.

About 10 minutes into the search her friends said that she was in a different area of the yard. So I expanded my search.  2 spoons, and several trash targets later I get the tone I am listening for. About an inch down in the dirt is a beautiful gold & ruby ring.

Trica comes running down off of the porch, and I get a very big hug. She then explains the history of the ring. The ring is her best friends mothers ring. It was given to Trica after the mother past away. Her best friend had an identical ring made while her mother was still living. She hasn’t been able to tell her friend that she lost the ring. She just saw her friend yesterday, and she was still wearing the identical ring. Trisha now says that she will tell her friend the story of her ring. So much sentimental value.

Trisha stated when we met before the search that the rain would bring good luck. She also reminded me that when we first spoke on the phone that I said if the ring was in the yard, that I would find it!!

I love my hobby!!!
