Lost Gold Diamond Wedding Band Set Recovered in Nottingham, Maryland!

  • from Baltimore (Maryland, United States)
Contact:

I received a call back on the 18th of March from a woman who was positive she lost her wedding set in her back yard while doing some spring cleanup with her husband. Despite searching through the leaves for hours, they were unable to locate either of the rings. They also decided to go out and purchase a metal detector and give that a try. They quickly realized if you are not proficient and experienced with a detector, attempting to use one on the fly leads to frustration. I was able to meet them at their home that very day (Sunday) and immediately began my search once they showed me the probable areas where the rings might be. After about 20 minutes……SUCCESS!

The rings(the one in the picture above is her engagement ring) were not too far from each other and were up close to a shed in the yard. To complicate things, there were spare railing pieces leaned up against the shed making the “hiding place” perfect, but they couldn’t escape me!

The rings are now back where they belong with their very happy owner!

I must say in all the years I have been a member of the Ring Finders group this callout gets the top marks in all categories.

Kerri called me yesterday regarding their dog Boomer.  On Boxing day 2017, while Kerri and Travis were visiting family in British Columbia, Boomer found his way into their  bedroom.  Kerri had placed her wedding ring,  engagement ring,  and gold necklace on the night table.   When she returned to the room she found Boomer chewing  on a box of Kleenex,   The ring and necklace was gone and Kerri found one ring on the floor on the other side of the room. Boomer is not your average dog,  he is 120 Lbs Bloodhound,  a big friendly giant.

Kerri was getting worried that the ring and chain was still inside Boomer and asked me if I could check to see if the rings was in him. I told her I could run my detector over him but it would not tell me what was in him and if there was something she would have to take him to the Vet! she also asked if I could scan the Poop bags she had collected over the past 10 days in his dog run I agreed to meet them this morning.

I arrived and met  Travis and Kerri and of course Boomer the Hound.  I scanned Boomer and found nothing,  so onto  the next task! The  Poop bags! On fourth bag my pro-pointer went off and I told Travis this could be something.   I told Kerri to get some hot water and a bucket so we could thaw the bag out and see what was in  there were the rings and neckless all in tack. Lucky for Boomer – no vet and lucky for Travis and Kerri, no bills!

This search will go down in History for me.

Thank you Travis & Kerri.

Family Heirloom Ring Lost in Vienna, VA… Recovered By a Ring Finder (Oct 2017)

  • from Fairfax (Virginia, United States)

On Friday, Nancy was at at the edge of her yard checking on her compost pile; instead of adding the orange in her hand to the pile, she decided to toss it into the woods for the deer. As she threw the orange, she caught the glimmer of her ring fly into the woods. The ring had once belonged to her mother, a family heirloom that was given to her, and she wears almost constantly even though its a tad big for her finger.

Nancy and her husband, Terry, searched for the ring, even brought out a rake to try to search through the forest floor… no luck.

On Saturday evening, Terry found the Ring Finders online and gave me a call. He described what had happened and we settled on a meeting time of noon the next day.

I arrived today (Sunday) at noon just as planned. Terry and Nancy walked me back to the edge of the yard and Nancy demonstrated the throw she made just two days before. I made note of the search area and got my detector ready to go… 15 minutes later I found the ring under some twigs and leaves. It felt good to see Nancy so happy to have her mothers ring back on her hand, she was almost in tears.

I received an email from Betsy on September 27th saying she had lost her wedding ring in her yard. She told me that her husband had raked the area they thought it was lost in and they had borrowed a metal detector but didn’t find it.

So I was able to make it there today October 1st. After about 15 minutes of searching the area I heard a shallow low signal 12-05 on the CTX3030 and I found her beautiful white gold wedding ring!

I was very happy to help this nice young couple find this important ring. Thank you for the nice reward and good luck to all the ringfinders out there.

Location? Location? Luck! Lead to ring return from West Dennis beach, Cape Cod, MA

  • from Cape Cod (Massachusetts, United States)

An E-mail requesting help finding a lost wedding band just needed a lot more information. First there are two Sea Street beaches in Dennis; which one? Then a Google map only shows one jetty, a second one was covered by sand in the display. Google’s visible jetty was highlighted as the area the ring was most likely lost at. Fortunately I asked the right questions, got good “clues” on where to look. But as I started walking to the jetty, I stumbled across the previously sand covered jetty and started searching in that area. I was lucky I did as about 15 feet from the jetty’s point I heard the sound of gold and retrieved Eric’s wedding band. Four days latter the US Postal Service delivered the ring to Eric who was kind enough to send me the attached photos…for this, my 50th posting on TheRingFinders.com.

Colin placed an ad asking for help re: his lost wedding ring. After reading the ad I sent Colin an email saying I think I can help.

Colin’s ring developed a spur inside and he had taken it off to get it repaired. But before he got a chance to get to the jeweller he lost it out of his pocket.

Days later we arranged for a search, I came with my trusty Whites MXT and bingo found it. OMG was Colin ever happy to get this very special 18K ring back.

Lost ring at Ocean Beach found

  • from La Jolla (California, United States)

Marcio was at Ocean Beach with his wife and child having a nice day in the sun when the outlook changed. He had been building sand castles, washed the sand off the toys in the surf, and went in for a short dip. After all this fun, he realized his wedding ring was missing. He does an online search and contacted me for help. Even though the tide was coming in and approaching the evening high, I agreed to meet them and get an idea of where the ring may have been lost, do a preliminary search, and maybe get lucky with a quick recovery. Oh well, that wasn’t to be. I searched all the dry sand around where they were camped out for the day and also hit the slope heading down to the water. The tide and surf was up on this steep section of beach and had a nasty shore break, so, a water search at this time would have been pointless. I told Marcio that I would return in the early morning hours to take advantage of the minus low tide at that time. Fast forward to 12:30am when I arrived at the beach. I started a grid from dry sand to knee deep water, and at 1:10am got the signal I was waiting for. I texted Marcio with the good news and connected with him later that day for the return. Great to meet you folks and thank you for the reward.

Lost gold ring found back in May near Reading

I recovered this gold ring after and extensive search of a garden near Reading, the compost pile had been scanned along with all the beds and under every bush etc. At first I hit a signal but it was too deep but I had to investigate as you do. This was a real bonus as out popped a lovely silver ring the the gents wife was very fond of so she kept it. Sorry but no pictures for this one.

A few hours later while searching in the vegetable patch I found the rather large gold ring! A very happy Professor!
