Lost Wedding Ring returned at Kelowna City Park

  • from Kelowna (British Columbia, Canada)
Contact:

Will. was visiting Kelowna from Vancouver and was playing in the City Park with his family. On the way back to the hotel he noticed his wedding band was missing. After spending 1 hour on his hands and knees searching, he found me on the website and I responded the next morning at 6am. He showed me the area they had been playing in and within 2 minutes his wedding ring was returned to him.

LOST HEIRLOOM AT OKANAGAN CENTRE RETURNED.

Contact:

Caden was celebrating his graduation with a large group of his peers at a beach resort North of Kelowna when he realized he had lost his ring next to a cliff leading down to the beach. He marked the location and returned later to search for the ring with no success. His mother Tara was very concerned as the ring was a gift from his grandmother, she found me on the website and phoned me. I responded within the hour and started me search in the bushy slopes, within 10 minutes the ring was located. If Caden had not marked the location it would have been a difficult search.

5 minute hunt… 14k white gold wedding band lost, found, and returned! TRF Celina, Ohio

  • from Celina (Ohio, United States)

I received a call Wednesday (6/20/18) from Tim. While doing some yard work and planting some bushes at his home in Botkins Ohio the previous Friday he had realized that he had lost his wedding ring.

His 14k white gold wedding band had been a replacement for a wedding ring that he had lost a few years before. It had always fit a little loose and after planting the first bush he noticed it lying on the ground. He quickly picked it up and placed it back on his finger while thinking to himself that he really needed to get something done about the loose fit to avoid losing it. Minutes later after finishing his yard work he realized he had lost the ring yet again before he made it into the house. He related his story to me telling me that he was fairly confident that he knew a general area where it may have been lost. He was reviewing his options on what he should do. Should I buy a metal detector and try to locate it? Should I try to order a new ring? (Kind of pricey to keep doing that.)

After a few questions I told him that I was fairly confident that it could successfully be recovered and most likely in a very short amount of time. It had to most likely be in the area he thought and right on top of the ground. We made plans to get together Saturday (6/23/18).

Since the area was small and the target should be right on the surface of the ground I thought it might be fun to bring along a second metal detector so that he could try his hand at it as well. I set the detector up for him and after taking a few minutes to show him what a white gold ring would ring up like on the machine and explaining that it should be right on the surface of the ground we were off and looking for his missing ring.

Imagine the surprise when 5 minutes or so later I came back to where he was searching and asked his wife if she could take a picture for me. She kindly replied that she could take a picture for me and then I turned to Tim and asked him if a picture of this would be good.

I gladly held my hand out and handed him back his lost wedding ring!

5-minute hunt… 14k white gold wedding band recovered and returned…. Happy to see the ring returned and another happy ending! So glad to be a part of it!

14k Boomerang Ring Found (Again)! Lost Gold Wedding Band Recovered in Bellevue, Washington!

  • from Seattle (Washington, United States)

Last week I got a request to find a lost gold men’s band in Bellevue, from Mackenzie, on behalf of her husband Tim. Unfortunately I had just started classes at my new job and couldn’t go search until this weekend. I hoped the delay wouldn’t be detrimental to the search, but I had to wait.

Tim had been part of a work party, clearing out vines and ivy at Chism Beach Park in Bellevue, Washington when he realized he was missing the ring. Likely he had taken off his gloves for a break and it came off somewhere he had been working. The ring was a sort of boomerang ring, it has a history of being lost and found multiple times in other situations, so I wanted to keep the streak alive…and find it again!  They had tried to rent a detector and search for it themselves but had no luck this time.

I don’t want to steer anyone from trying this DIY approach, but there is a learning curve with metal detecting, and it can quickly be frustrating to a newcomer. So it is always a good idea to have someone experienced to help if that doesn’t pan out. That’s where I come in!

I was relieved to quickly find the ring and return it to Mackenzie, since Tim is currently travelling. I hope to be able to post a pic of Tim reunited with it soon!

Dug up! Hiding in the leaves!

Reunited!

Man’s Platinum w/Gold Wedding Band Lost at High Tide, Found and Returned North Myrtle Beach, SC

  • from North Myrtle Beach (South Carolina, United States)

This ring journey started when I got a text message from my son-in-law about a lost ring. I called him and got the location and was on my way. I got to the beach about 10 minutes later and got a brief ring description, search area, the name of the owner, Christian, and his phone number. I started a north/south grid search from the low tide line, working my way up the beach towards the dry sand. After about an hour and a half of searching, I was running out of the wet sand to search and daylight to see. I finally hit a great signal and dug it up. Unfortunately, I didn’t have my headlamp with me, but I could definitely hear the heavy metal sound of the ring rattling in the scoop as I gently shook out the sand. I reached in the scoop and removed the ring, lit it up with the flashlight on my cell phone, and was pretty sure I had the right ring.

I called Christian and introduced myself and confirmed he had lost his ring. I asked him to describe it, and when he did, I knew we had a match. He sounded like he was more in shock than excited that his ring had been found. He and his wife, Erika showed up within 20 minutes to claim his ring. Big hugs, a few tears, and huge smiles all around.

Christian/Erika, it was great getting to meet you both. Best of Luck to you two and so happy we got the ring back where it belongs!!!

Lost Wedding Ring Found! – Oshkosh, Wisconsin

  • from Menomonee Falls (Wisconsin, United States)

Early Friday evening, Amanda Nachtwey and her husband were visiting friends at the Ford Festival Camp Grounds in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, home of Country USA’s annual music festival. As they were walking along Amanda felt her loose-fitting wedding ring slip off her finger. It vanished somewhere into the sodden grass, mud and puddles along the roadway, the result of earlier heavy rains. Despite searching feverishly for nearly three hours, the ring seemed lost forever.

Having searched for and successfully recovered a ring for another client two years ago at the same Festival Campground, when Amanda notified Security of her loss, she was given my contact number at The Ring Finders. It was about 9:00 at night when I received a call from Amanda. Would I come right away? I made the 80-mile trip and was met by a security guard at the camp entrance who marshaled my clearance and transport to the site.

For all you metal-detecting buffs out there, I chose to use a state-of-the-art XP Deus wireless detector and probe. It has become my machine of choice for high-trash areas. And the wireless probe was invaluable.

I extracted several pieces of aluminum, some bits of foil and a pull-tab from the muck and water. Amanda hovered close by with a flashlight in hand and so I handed each of these metallic bits to her to keep as “souvenirs.” At last, I felt the ring in my fingers and sloshed it about in the puddle to remove the mud. Then I placed her husband’s love token in her hand saying, “And here is another souvenir for you!” Tears and hugs followed!

Amanda, may your ring continue its story for many, many happy years!

TESTIMONY: “We are so thankful for you taking your time on a Friday night to get us our ring back!… We are so blessed and thankful for the services you provide!” Amanda Nachtwey – Oshkosh, WI

Gold Ring Survives a SIX Story Drop…by John Volek TRF-Houston

Gold Ring Survives a SIX Story Drop…by John Volek TRF-Houston

I was contacted by Denis a residence of Houston, Texas, who was looking for someone to help him find his lost gold ring.

Denis reported he lives in a high rise condominium and was relaxing on his sixth story balcony when he had the misfortune of losing a family heirloom…his grandmothers gold ring.

Denis said he wears the ring on his pinky, and he was adjusting it, when it popped off of his finger and took a six story plunge into the landscaping below.

Denis said, he immediately went downstairs and searched the landscaping and grassy area below, but was unable to find his grandmothers gold ring.

Upon arriving the following day, Denis outlined the area that needed to be searched…not moments later I observed the gold ring lying in some mulch near some bushes…no metal detector required!

Denis was quite happy to be reunited with his missing ring…

Wedding Ring Lost while Body Surfing Quintana Beach Freeport, Texas by John Volek TRF-Houston

Wedding Ring Lost while Body Surfing Quintana Beach Freeport, Texas

I was contact by Dallas a resident of Houston, Texas who was looking for someone to help him find his lost wedding ring…

Dallas reported he and his wife (Addie) were on vacation at Quintana Beach in Freeport, Texas when Dallas had the mis-fortune of losing his wedding ring in the Gulf of Mexico.

Dallas reported while at the beach with his wife, they ventured into the water to do a little body surfing…Dallas reported after catching a few waves he realized his wedding ring was gone.

Dallas said as he was not sure at what point his ring had come off his finger, but he felt pretty confident his ring was gone forever!

Dallas said Addie was doing a little research on the internet when she came upon a post by Houston Metal Detecting Services – The Ring Finders Houston, Texas…Addie said, it was a moment of hope!

Dallas and Attie, were able to provide some very specific land marks on the beach, which where the deciding factors in pursuing this recovery effort.

Based on the location and recovery details, I knew this would need to be a two-man effort minimal…I reached out to a good friend Carl Sedita again and laid out the details.

After looking over all of the details, we knew it would be a long-shot, but we decided to give it a try for Dallas and Addie…

Lost Heirloom Cuban Gold Necklace at Aulani Resort Ko Olina…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This necklace find began while I was detecting in the water at Aulani. I was approached by a gentleman named Juan who was on vacation with his daughter from Los Angeles, California. He asked if I was the detectorist for Ko Olina resort. I said, “Yes, did you lose something?” He said when he dove into the water the day before his Gold Cuban Necklace his Father had given to him went missing. He told the beach equipment rental team and they told him to get ahold of me but he figured the metal detector wouldn’t work in the water. He went and stood in the water where he thought the necklace came off and I said I’m working into that area now just be sure to leave your contact info at the lost and found so I can reach you if I find your necklace. Juan described the necklace as very heavy 18k Gold with 1/2 inch links. I continued my hunt for about ten more minutes when close to the shore break I got a loud but broken tone. I took a scoop and nothing came up but in the ankle deep water I saw a gold glow and reached in to pick it up. Up came a very hefty necklace that was still clasped in a loop. Wow I thought, he wasn’t kidding this necklace is heavy. I put it into my secure pocket and proceeded to lost & found. I called Juan’s contact number but it was his home in California. The land lady said Juan was on vacation in Hawaii and wanted to know if there was anything she could do. I said not now but would call again if needed. I let the lost and found know I had Juan’s necklace in my possession and was trying to track him down. I arrived home and a short time later Juan returned my call and we made plans to get him back his necklace that evening. He invited me to dinner at the resort and from the pic you can see his elation after getting his necklace back. We had a great dinner and I’m sure I made a new friend in California. Aloha to Juan & his lovely daughter!

Lost Platinum Diamond Ring in Surf at Malibu, CA. .. Found with Metal Detector

  • from Newport Beach (California, United States)

Alice lost her platinum with diamonds engagement ring in the surf at a Malibu, CA. beach. She contacted me about 10pm that night. We discussed what happened when she felt her ring slip from her finger. I looked up the hight of the tide when the loss occurred and that she was only knee deep in the small waves.

The next low tide would give us a chance to find the ring. It’s impossible to keep track of the sand conditions of all the beaches of Southern California. Sand conditions vary from day to day. It would be different if we were searching a lake or inside a back bay. I wanted to be honest with Alice, so I told her we had a 50-50 chance to find her ring.

When I met both Alice and her husband, Nareg they were very emotional and had been up most the night. They had returned to the beach that night with a rake, trying to retrieve the ring dragging the rake in the surf.

I purposely did not want to search before the tide was at its lowest. It is not worth taking the risk of losing a ring, while trying to retrieve it in heavy surf conditions.

Alice went to buy some sunscreen while Nareg watched me start my grid search. I eliminated the high area of the slopping beach. Then I started a grid from the top of the slope into knee deep water. After finding 3 pieces of trash metal I dug another target that rattled when it hit the bottom of my sand scoop. Yes! The beautiful platinum diamond ring was glimmering in the bottom of the scoop.

I walked up and surprised Nareg. Then he was able to take the ring to surprise Alice when she returned from her shopping trip. One photo I posted is the moment Nareg held the ring out to Alice. It was an awesome morning and such a pleasure to help both Alice and Nareg find their ring.
