Lost Ring Hawaii … Found!

This recovery happened to have an international case attached to it as I received an email from Masako and she was located in Japan. She sent me a picture of her lost wedding ring which she lost in the water while here in Hawaii doing a tour out at the Kaneohe Sandbar. Because of a language barrier we used the internet to communicate and it was interesting to say the least. After a few emails concerning logistics and several attempts due to coordinating a boat with the company that she had the tour with and my scheduled times off from work and family I was able to get out and look for her lost ring! After many hours and countless scoops later I hear this faint sound. I dug it and BAM there in the scoop is her ring…What a miracle… a platinum ring with 3 diamonds and a small ruby inside the band I know its Masako’s ring. I yelled out… I FOUND it! The captain who escorted me out was as happy as I was because this was one of their customers who lost her ring while on their tours “captain bruce tours cptbruce.com”  and as I held up the ring and gave it to him as he drove the boat over we both said at the same time… AMAZING! it was a nice ride back to the main island and as we were in route I emailed Masako to let her know the ring is found and on the way to be shipped back to her home in Japan. Another Amazing recovery!

Lost wedding ring “found” in back yard

I received a call from Jewel that he lost his wedding ring while throwing snow balls with his son. Jewel and his family are from California and were visiting his brother in Pennsylvania for the holidays. After losing the ring he bought a metal detector and tried to search for the ring himself, but soon realized the cheap detector and lack of experience did not work out well. He began searching the internet for help and found my profile on TheRingFinders.com. I was able to immediately travel to his location to search for the ring and found it after only 15 min of searching. I was so happy to make his New Years special by returning his ring before they travelled home to California.

Lost His & Hers White Gold Wedding Rings at Kaimana Beach Waikiki…FOUND!!!

This ring find began when I got a call from Elijah who hails from Guam and serves in the US Army on Oahu. While Elijah & his lovely wife Bianca were getting ready to snorkel they forgot they had placed their wedding rings in the flippers and as they went to put them on they spilled out into the sandy shoreline and a wave erased them from view. They initially called ring finder Don Bryant up in Kailua but he passed it to me as I live ten minutes from Waikiki. Parking was non existent near Kaimana Beach so I parked at the zoo and walked down. Elijah met me at the entrance and then we proceeded together down to the area the rings were lost. I started the grid search but the rings weren’t in that box so I shifted the search towards the Natatorium wall thinking the minor surf might have pushed the rings that direction. Indeed a few seconds later I got a nice tone on the Nox. In the first scoop up came Bianca’s white gold diamond ring. I asked her to come out into the water to get it as I had another target on the Nox. Three scoops later I had Elijah’s white gold wedding band. Thinking I was done Bianca said there was a tiny gold ring that was also lost. I swung the Nox around and indeed there was a third target. This ring was so tiny it got pushed away from my scoop about four times before I was able to retrieve it. Okay 2021 lets start the year with a trio recovery. Elijah & Bianca were obviously thrilled to get all their rings back and were so thankful it didn’t take but a few minutes. Aloha to Bianca & Elijah!

Lost Engagement Ring Found Outside of Calgary

Katrina called me about the custom Saphire and Diamond engagement ring she lost while cross country skiing near Turner Valley.  After chatting for a while, we decided that it would be more of a closure hunt (where it isn’t) than a ring find due to the fact that she covered a total of 10 km while skiing. We would check the places where she stopped for breaks.  We searched a lot of area that day.  Four hours later we returned and did a couple of final checks. You always find it in the last place you look.

Lost Platinum & Diamonds Engagement & Wedding Rings at Honu Lagoon Ko Olina…FOUND!!!

This ring hunt began when I got an email from Bart who lives in Seattle Washington and was on vacation with his lovely wife Caroline & their son. While throwing a football in waist deep water Caroline noticed her platinum & diamonds engagement & wedding bands had come off. Bart got a mask and snorkel and searched immediately around the area Caroline was in the water. Honu Lagoon is like a washing machine during high surf times and the rings were no where to be found. Caroline found the ring finders by doing a google search for “lost ring Oahu”. I called Bart and told him we could see what the surf would be like the next day at low tide to see if a hunt was feasible. The next morning Bart sent me a pic of the lagoon and said looks pretty calm this morning. I told him I would grab my gear and head down around 11AM at low tide. When I arrived Caroline & Bart drew lines in the wet sand so I could start a grid search. I entered the water and even at low tide I was getting pushed around quite a bit. I decided to hunt parallel to shore so as to follow the sand dunes underwater which I could see clearly. It wasn’t 2 minutes later I got a strong number 6/7 on the Nox and in one scoop their was Caroline’s beautiful engagement ring in my scoop. I yelled to Bart to come out into the water to retrieve it so I could stay on the spot to recover the wedding ring as I heard another target. After Bart took the ring I scooped the second target and there was the wedding ring. Mission accomplished! I was thinking this is going to be a challenge in the high surf. Let’s just call it a New Year’s Eve blessing! Caroline & Bart were so grateful and could now leave the island this evening with all their possessions. Aloha to Caroline & Bart!

**** Conner and Brianna had been a Newport Beach when he reached for her hand and accidentally pulled off her diamond wedding ring set. The rings dropped into the dry sand. After searching by hand they could not even locate one of the rings.

Conner’s mother got online locating me by a referral after calling several places trying to get help with a metal detector.

Gold and Diamond Ring Lost at Kerikeri, New Zealand – Found!

Barrys wife was swimming and playing with her grand-daughter in the sea in the Bay of Islands, NZ, last night.
As she went to do a handstand she felt her precious gold and diamond ring slip off her finger and into the cloudy water.

Instantly lost…

Fabricated from her mothers jewellery, she was understandably very distraught – returning with a torch that night to search for the lost ring.
Again she tried, at sunrise this morning, she was back with a mask and snorkel – but to no avail.

Shortly afterwards, Barry found me through a web search for ring recoveries, finding lost rings and metal detectors and gave me a call.
As luck would have it, it was just approaching low tide and I was only 30min away so threw the kit in the wagon and headed out.
On arrival, I saw she was standing diligently at ‘Spot X’. I went through the backstory of how she lost the ring, state of tide, depth of water, whether she was on shingle, sand or silt underfoot etc and started to work the grid.

Starting in the water, I worked back and forth along the beach. Ploughing my way through the many trash signals, digging a few that were too close to call. Eventually I emerged onto the beach and continued up past the depth she had indicated (Assume Nothing, Believe No-One, Check Everything)

There was evidence of recent detecting with scoop holes in the water and backfilled holes on the beach, as expected at this time of year with the influx of holidaymakers, although they were unlikely to have been created in the short period between time of loss and my arrival.

Initial search area was eventually cleared with no result, I discussed the search with them and we shifted slightly to one side towards where they had come down onto the beach.
Seconds into the new area, less than a metre outside the original grid boundary(!)  I caught the ring, tucked snugly into the gravel about 2-3 inches down – To an ecstatic cheer from it’s owner…and I went home to finish my lunch 🙂

Found Class Ring in the Vermont Snow

Closing out 2020 on a good note!

I got a call from a fellow from Texas who was visiting Vermont with a close group of friends. A couple days ago they were having some fun by having a snowball fight. When he threw a snowball at a friend, he thought he felt his ring fly off.

This ring was extremely sentimental to him because it was a class ring from the college he graduated from, Texas A and M. He had worked very hard to graduate and this ring represented his efforts. He told me he didn’t want a replacement ring, because it wouldn’t be the same.

The ring was very heavy and his fingers were cold, the perfect combination for losing it. All his awesome friends helped search for hours, they knew how much it meant to him. His mother, back in Texas, wanted to help somehow, she found The Ring Finders online, and saw Vermont had some members.

It was a very cold night, around 15 degrees, but the ring was lost in a public place, so I knew the search needed to be done ASAP. I got there, he showed me the search area and I got started. The ground was full of signals, many which shared the same numbers as gold would on my detector. After about an hour I got a good signal right on the very edge of a steep bank which dropped off into the river. It was his ring! Someone’s foot had pressed it deep into the snow and leaves. When I brought it to him, he and a dozen friends all cheered loudly. They were all so happy for him!

Gold Cartier Love Ring Lost in Sand … Newport Beach, CA. .. Found and Returned

**** Grant and Taylor had been sitting on the sand watching the sunset at Newport Beach, CA.. When they returned to the car Taylor noticed her Cartier Love Ring was no longer on her finger. They returned to the spot on the beach where they had been sitting to sift through the sand by hand. Because she didn’t know when the ring came off her finger, it could be anywhere within the 200 yards across the sand to their vehicle.

After more than an hour if searching in the cold dark evening they returned to the car. Frustrated, they went to the internet for help. That’s where they find my contact information.

I was able to meet them shortly after the call. We had to start at the place they had spent the most time. Luckily,  I found the ring within a few minutes. They were very happy to get this very sentimental ring back where it belongs. I was also happy because I know in this area the ring would not have survived the city sand sifting machine that would surely get it the next morning.

Diamond and platinum Wedding band lost at Coral Springs , Florida… found and returned to owner

I got a call from a client Ron who was very upset about visiting a neighbors house and having his fiancé loose a Platinum Diamond engagement ring . He asked me if I could come over to Coral Springs to find his Platinum ring. He stated that he had been searching for it since Christmas Day with metal detectors . I came over about 0900 the next day. He kept asking me whether it flew off his fiancés finger into a nearby lake.. I really thought 20 feet was too far away . I began searching and after a few targets like the sprinkler system. I finally got the  prize target. He was soooo Happy .. and I felt very good also. What a good Christmas present although a little bit late.
