A week ago, Michelle contacted me because her husband had lost a set of car keys somewhere on their property. Unfortunately, they were lost prior to a snowstorm, which dropped over two feet of snow in our area. Michelle’s husband was doubtful that I would be able to find the keys and had already had the car towed to a local dealership. This was the only set of keys she and her husband had for the car, and they needed the car to get to work. After searching the property on three separate occasions, I located the keys buried in a large mound of snow. Michelle was happy to get the keys back and to prove her husband wrong!
Got a call about a lost iPhone. While on a golf course pulling a child on a sled, iPhone dropped in the snow. Owner searched and even rented a metal detector, to no avail. Hence the call.. Within an hour with my ctx 3030 and a rake, I found it. As a note to others, the iPhone models each ring up differently on the 3030. iPhone 5 is up around 01/44 and the iPhone 4 hits about 01/28.
She was surprised that I found it?
Now that the winter months are upon us and the snow is here, accidents occur with rings lost throwing snowballs, taking gloves off pulling off rings in the snow,
cleaning your car and off comes the ring, etc. There are many stories out there but I can help you find your lost treasure. I have 40 years of experience finding
lost treasurers. I live in Grand Rapids, MI and can travel anywhere you need me.
I charge for gas expense depending on the distance traveled and if the item is found I would accept a reward.
Dan was out for a day of snowshoeing at Crystal Mountains Telemark area, during the event four kilometres from the parking lot he made a fall in the snow. After regaining his composure he realized that his 14k white gold wedding band had gone missing, he searched around with no success so he marked the area intending to return. The next day he looked up Ringfinders and contacted me for assistance, once at the location it only took a few minutes to locate the ring 3 inches deep in the snow.
Now that winter has come and activities have slowed down, why not call a ringfinder to find that ring, earring, bracelet, necklace or other item that you lost? I continue to search the water and land during the winter months and continue to find jewelry. Why not let me or another ringfinder try to find your lost treasure? Give a ringfinder a call. We are located in many countries throughout the world. Don’t hesitate. Now is a great time to call. Larry Griffith
Most of the time I’d get called out to search for a lost ring, but on this day ,on my own time, I went to English Bay Beach just after the Polar Bear Swim to search the low tide…January 1, 2013.
On this nice but cold evening when the tide went out it exposed many pairs of prescription glasses, in total 15 pairs were found that evening. One in particular was a pair of spectacles that I found buried completely in the sand. Because of the amount of prescription glasses that were being found I took my time digging this signal, as I reached into the hole I pulled out a cool looking pair of spectacles. I have to say my first thought was ”Harry Potter”… I carefully wrapped it up in a cloth and put it in a safe pocket and resume my hunting.
When I got home that evening I posted on craigslist that I found prescription glasses along with a few other things I found at the Polar Bear Swim at English Bay Beach. I only received one reply from someone asking about a pair of Ray-Ban glasses (Aviators) but I did not find those, it took almost 3 weeks before I got a reply from a young man asking if I found a pair spectacles.
I took a picture with my iPhone and sent him the photo of the glasses and I received an email immediately… Those are the ones!!!
I have to admit it’s the first time I experienced how much it meant to to that person to have their prescription glasses found. I didn’t realize what the story was that came with the glasses until I talk with him. You see these were not ordinary prescription glasses, these glasses were from his great grandfather, over 100 years old! How can you ever replace a family heirloom like that? That’s why I love what I do! I love helping people and given them a second chance to find what they thought was lost forever!
Here’s what he put on The Ring Finders Face Book page…
“Thanks to Chris Turner and The Ring Finders recovered my Norwegian great grandfathers old pair of glasses that I lost during this years Polar Bear Swim in Vancouver, BC. Chris found them the same day and posted them under the lost and found section on Craigslist. And although it took me 20 days to even think that someone would be kind enough to put it on Craigslist, Chris convinced me that there still is some good in this world. These 100 year old glasses gets to continue their story and continue being a family heirloom.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart!”

The horses water trough was frozen over, so Paul used his bare hands to remove the ice from the trough. After the ice was all removed and Paul was back in the warm house, he noticed that his 14k yellow gold wedding band was missing. He went back to the trough area and did a visual search, with no luck. He went back indoors and googled the RingFinders, after contacting me, I told him I would be out the next morning with my metal detector to search for it. It was a cold day with ice all around the trough area of the barn. Paul told me he shook his hands when they were cold and wet, so I did a search around the perimeter of the trough. Luckily it was soon found in the snowy area. Another happy customer.
I received a call from a guy on New Years Day about a lost White Gold and Diamond Engagement Ring. The ring was lost in the snow during the night before. I showed up a couple of hours later to search for the missing engagement ring. After asking more questions, I found out that the ring was thrown. I searched in the freezing temperatures in 3 inches of snow for a hour and a half with no luck.
A week later he wanted me to come back out and try again. Since the snow was mostly gone and more grass was visible. About a hour later of searching there was the ring laying on the grass beside the melting snow. I am very happy that the ring was found. He recently bought the ring for her and I wish them a happy engagement.
