Between 4th of July’s burgers the telephone rang and I was IT for a game of telephone tag. Yes, I was not IT…the one to find Scott’s lost wedding band. Calm, cool and in a great sense of mind for letting his wedding band slip off his finger at the water’s edge while enjoying the Fourths celebration and doing the Crab Walk. I was told his wife was even in great spirits despite the loss. It could not have been the loss, but the party going on.

It only took 25 minutes to get ready and show up at the town beach. But it took an hour to find the correct target. Scott thought I had given up as I left the water. I had told him not to worry about my digging and putting objects into my pouch. What he was to look for was me leaving the water carrying my scoop level with my waist. Well I left the water and he followed from about 30 feet away. His comment was “Is it time to give up?” My answer “Not until you look in my scoop!” It was hard for him to initially believe I had found the ring, but there it was. Another successful search, find and return. Number 216, but who’s counting. Happy 4th of July!

My wedding ring slipped off my finger while swimming in South Yarmouth on the afternoon of July 3rd. I found Rick via TheRingFinders.com and sent him an email the morning of July 4th. I figured as a long shot maybe Rick could come out over the next couple of days before we left the Cape. Well not only did Rick reply to my email but he immediately jumped into action and said he could help me right away, and on a holiday no less! Stand-in Wedding Ring(s) – what a story! Sandwich, MA Lost / Found Ring

Well, it was a typical 4th of July weekend. The first call for help came with a story about the ring tagging along. The easiest way to tell this is to copy the Thank You note for finding and returning James’ claddagh ring.

My father bought me this ring 10 years ago. My grandfather had just passed away and had given his ring to my brother, the oldest boy in the family. So, my father took me when getting that one sized to get one of my own.
A few weeks ago, at my brother’s wedding, nobody remembered the wedding bands, not me, my brother, sister-in-law, planner, nobody. So when the priest asked for the rings, I turned my back to the crowd and slipped off my ring and my brother did the same. They used these to bless their marriage. I was devastated to lose mine. I cannot thank you enough.

Platinum Wedding Band Lost at Santa Monica Beach…Found and Happily Returned.

Thomas called yesterday. He had been shaking out his clothes at the beach, when his ring slipped off of his finger and into the sand. It was gone immediately, and his search for it was futile. He had not left the area, so I told him I would be there as soon as I could.

When I arrived, Thomas was there waiting for me, and showed me what had happened. The area was not big, but there was a ton of metal in the sand which caused me to dig a lot of targets to be sure not to miss his ring. I worked the most likely area, digging everything that sounded possible, but his ring did not show up. I then started on the other side and received a good tone. It sounded so good in relation to the other tones I had been receiving that I told Thomas that this might just be his ring. I scooped the sand, shook it out, and in the scoop was a nice silver colored ring. I lifted it out and Thomas was amazed, it was his ring! He was so very happy to have his ring back, having only been married for 9 months. I feel very fortunate to be able to create such a smile. Fun day!

Joe’s Lost Platinum Ring Madison Park Beach Seattle

On the 4th of July I got a call from Joe’s wife that her husband had lost his Tiffany & Co platinum wedding band in Lake Washington. Joe was standing in just a few inches water watching his young children play when he noticed his ring fall in to the shallow lake water. Mark called me about the loss of his wedding ring. He was visiting with friends on the beach, and throwing a football around, when going for a catch, he felt his ring fly off. It had happened earlier that day, so the possibilities of a recovery were high. I told him I would be there as soon as I could get there, and left immediately.

When I got there Mark met me, and took me to the area of the loss. He showed me what had happened, and where he believed the ring may have gone. I began my grid, and worked my way in the direction of the possible loss. I worked out about 8 passes with no ring, and decided to start working in the opposite direction. After 2 passes I received a good tone in the headphones. I scooped the sand, and in my scoop was one of the coolest looking wedding rings I have recovered. Mark and his wife have had these identical custom rings for 25 years, so this loss had great sentimental implications. I was able to give Mark his ring back, which really made his day. We were standing around talking after the recovery, when the 7.1 earthquake hit Southern California, and we felt like we were rocking and rolling, which made this recovery a very memorable event!

Cartier White Gold With Diamonds Love Bracelet Lost in the Sands of Zuma Beach on 4th of July…found and Joyously Returned.

I received a call from Laura on 4th of July. She had lost her Cartier bracelet in the sand while playing with her children, and was distressed. I let her know that I would be there as soon as I could get there, I just asked that she would stay in order to help me locate the possible area of the loss.

When I got there Laura met me and showed me the area they had been playing in. She said the closure on the bracelet wasn’t functioning properly, and that is why it came off. I began my search, and after about 4 passes, pulled up the bracelet out of the sand. I was able to give her bracelet back, and received a big hug from Laura. She told me that her mother had given the bracelet to her, and she wanted to be able to give it to her daughter later on. It was nice to be able to reunite her with this family heirloom! Truly a wonderful 4th of July!

I received an email about a lost gold ring in a lake. The ring is the family heirloom that has been passed down for generations. After getting the details, we setup a day and time to perform the ring search. The ring was lost in about 2 to 4 feet of cloudy lake water, which was unable to see anything. So with the trusty water metal detector, sand scoop and continuing searching, the ring was found! She was overly in joy that the ring was found. On July 5th I had visited the beach and lost my gold ring in the water while catching a football. In a split second I knew the ring had slipped off my finger and I was so devastated. I spent nearly 2 hours waist deep in murky water trying to feel my foot on the seabed for a ring but no luck. Family Heirloom Ring Recovered – Huntington Beach, CA

Alejandro told me his Cousin was boogie boarding when he hit the sand and broke his nose. During this mishap his gold and ruby ring which was his late Grandfathers fell off into the surf. I said I would go first thing in the morning during low tide to search for this family heirloom. My intuition paid off and I found the ring after a two hour hunt right when the tide was at its lowest point.

The loss happened on July 5th and I recovered it on July 7th. This is a popular beach for detectorists and we were lucky it was not found during this busy July 4th weekend.

Platinum and Diamond Ring Lost in the Sand at Santa Monica Beach, CA…Found and Happily Returned.

Yael called explaining that she had lost the ring her mother had given her, in the sand at the beach. She had taken it off, and put it on the blanket they laid out, but forgetting that she had put the ring on the blanket, she picked the blanket up and shook it out. At that point it was too late, the ring was gone. I let her know I would be there as soon as possible, because they were still there, and possibility of a recovery was good.

When I got to the area Yael showed me what had happened, and the possible vicinity of the lost ring. I got my detector ready, and decided to start at the outer part of the perimeter. I turned my machine on, took two swings, got the tone, put the scoop in, and within 10 seconds was able to hand Yael her ring back. It doesn’t always happen like that, but I just happened to chose the right place to start. Needless to say Yael was overjoyed to have her precious ring back again. I was so happy to have been able to be able to give back something she thought was lost forever. Really a great day!

Lost men’s wedding ring found, Lake Wawasee, Syracuse, IN

Richard and family were visiting with friends at the lake house for the 4th of July weekend. With all the heat and humidity, the lake was the place to be. Much time was spent in the 85 degree water, around the dock, on the big foam floating pad, on the raft and tossing a ball back n forth to each other in the swim area. When it was time to get out of the water, Richard noticed his gold wedding ring was missing from his finger.
I was contacted by Richard’s friend, a friend of mine familiar with the ringfinders, we discussed the details of the loss and I was on my way within an hour. They had tried looking for it visually, but the water was somewhat stirred up from all the boaters.
The loss area was essentially “anywhere” around the dock, float, raft, within a 10 yard by 20 yard area and 4 to 5 feet deep. Sand bottom, with some silt, some rocks, waves and not much visibility.
There are almost always variables that can effect outcomes and immediately upon detecting I was hearing “good” sounding shallow targets, even with sensitivity turned way down on detector. The first target was a 12 gauge shotshell brass, then a piece of propeller, an old brass swim buckle and another piece of scrap aluminum. This was literally in the first two swings of the detector, which meant it could be a very lengthy endeavor with all these targets in the search area.
I rarely rule anywhere out, so i had began the search right near where he had entered the water. I figured I’d start detecting under/around the floating foam mat to eliminate that possibility. Got a good sounding signal under there, carefully scooped it and when I looked in the scoop, there was a men’s gold ring with 3 diamonds! I was relieved to have found it within just a few minutes, the 5th target scooped.
