Lost Diamond Wedding Rings In Home Recovery Bellevue WA

Two days after Thanksgiving I was called out to Belleview for an in home search of a lost 4.5 carat diamond wedding ring set.  From our over the phone interview I had very strong belief that the rings were still on the property and we had a very strong chance of recovery. Even though my primary focus is recovery via metal detection typically in outside environments I agreed to drop by to help assist in this in home search effort.

Ashley had already confirmed from her in home security video she had the rings on when she came home Thanksgiving evening. She clearly remembered taking them off specifically to put some hand lotion on while sitting in her front living room and the next morning the rings had simply disappeared no where to be found! Once again our dreaded hand lotion scenario has caused a pair of rings to go missing… 

She also confirmed no one but her family had been in the home since the loss. We had a few ideas that stated to develop as I continued to ask a lot of questions through my investigative process gaining clarity of the events that took place.

She wasn’t quite sure if she put the rings in an empty ziplock package from her bathroom for safe keeping, in her robe pocket or simply on their coffee table. Fortunately they saved all the household garbage in case the rings some how got tossed away. She also told me the next morning with the same robe on she bent over out the from door to pickup up a package from the porch when her phone fell out of her pocket crashing to the floor. It was certainly possibly the rings could have fallen out as well and landed under the shrubs outside.

I also ask her about her four year old daughter if she had ever shown any attention towards mommies rings. She side her girl has but had not ever run off with them before. I still keep this as a very likely possibility in mind.

Christmas Lights & Cold Air = Lost Wedding Ring in Westmont NJ, Found By Dave Milsted

Thomas sent me an email today asking if I could look for his lost wedding ring. He lost it this past Saturday while putting Christmas lights up. I told him I could be there after work today. Westmont is only 5 minutes from my house.

We met, and he showed me 2 areas that his tungsten ring might be. He also said that this is the second time he lost this ring, a replacement since he lost the original. His daughter found it in a river where they were tubing. The original is still missing. He searched the area with no luck. He was fearful that it was hung up in one of the branches in the bushes.

I searched the 2 areas with my metal detector, both areas near concrete, with rebar in it. So my detector was constantly beeping. I decided to use my hand-held pinpointer detector and searched the areas with that. No joy! Pennies, bottle caps and pieces of aluminum siding were present. So I expanded my search. About 3 feet away from the second search area I was able to find his ring. He couldn’t believe it.

This was a nice quick search with another happy client. This hobby is awesome!!

2 diamond and gold wedding Rings lost South Beach ,Miami beach Florida… found..

While I was metal detecting Miami Beach , Fl I was approached by a group of people who asked me to find wedding 2 rings lost in the dry sand. I followed them to a area about 7 x 7 feet . At first I didn’t get any targets . But after searching for quite a while I heard a faint signal and found one ring. after that I still wasn’t hearing any targets. I kept going and I eventually fond the other ring. They were very thankful.

Eagle Harbor Bainbridge WA Underwater Wedding Ring Recovery

Teresa called me asking for my help in recovering her lost gold diamond wedding ring of twenty-seven years. She told me the story that started several month prior. Teresa and her husband has just returned from a sailing voyage and on this day they were having a relaxing party on their boat as it was docked in their Eagle Harbor slip. Teresa remembers she was fidgeting with her ring finger and some how she managed to shoot the ring off her finger, it flew threw her hair, over the sail boat railing and down into the water below. Her husband witness the whole event and confirmed that the ring was in fact resting in the bottom of the Puget Sound waters.

After this the couple hired a young local diver that had been doing some underwater boat work but he had no success. Teresa’s husband a former dive instructor took a turn and could not locate the ring. They then called upon an old friend a professional diver that brought along a metal detector. He came up with a bucket full of trash but no diamond ring. Teresa’s husband took another dive with the metal detector and still no ring was found. At this point everyone was felling rather hopeless it wold ever be recoverd.

One of Teresa’s coworkers suggested in a joking manner why not get a replacement ring since your old you soon won’t remember the difference anyway.

After thinking if over Teresa went to a jewelry store that was having a going out of business sales event. She explained her story as she picked out a replacement ring from a catalog. Where her special order arrived after she paid for the ring she had immediate buyers remouse and graciously the jeweler refunded her money and took the ring back. However he did look her straight in the eyes and said you will never get that old ring back.

At this pint Teressa wad determined to find a way to get her diamond wedding ring recovered. She remembered hearing something about TheRingFinders and thankfully she did!

Ring Lost Years Ago in Abington PA Found By Dave Milsted

Walt called me back in September after seeing an article in the Philadelphia Inquirer that I was featured in on metal detecting. He asked if I could find a wedding band that was lost in his back yard several years ago. Our schedules didn’t align at the time. I gave Walt a call yesterday, and we were both available today, Saturday, November 23. He lives in Abington Pa.

I arrived about 20 minutes early, and Walt is already outside waiting for me. He showed me the area in the back yard. His wife, Sharon, was sitting on the porch and dropped her ring. They heard it hit the cement and then nothing more. The porch is surrounded by pachysandra.

There were a lot of metal items lost in the pachysandra. Several nails, s-hooks, an old tarnished silver bracelet, and bottle caps. After about 15 minutes I found the long lost white gold wedding band.

The look on Walt’s face was priceless. He had spent many hours combing through the plants looking for this ring. He said that their Wedding Anniversary was Nov 20th and that this Monday is Sharon’s birthday. I asked if he was going to wrap it up for a present. That is when he told me that she had died this past March. He was so happy that I called this week, as it has been a very sentimental week for him.

Walt is retired from the Philadelphia Fire Department. I love returning all lost items, but when I can help out a fellow 1st responder, that has a special place in my heart.

Engagement Ring Lost for 4 months! – Pensacola Beach – FOUND!!!

I am so honored to be able to write up this story as one of the most amazing ring returns I have had with the Ringfinders. I warn you, it’s probably going to be a long one. 😃 2019 has been a great year. Early in the spring I had a call from a couple that had lost both the wife’s engagement ring and her wedding band out in a very large area of sand. My Father-in-Law, Tom Ledew had a freshwater machine but he didn’t have a saltwater machine. He had expressed some interest in the Ringfinders so I decided to ask him to join me and loan him one of my Saltwater machines. You can read the long story on another post but suffice it to say, Tom found one and I found the other and he now has a good Beach machine and is hooked. 😄. So that brings us to our current story… back in July, the day after the Blue Angels flew, I got a call from a very nice young man named Thomas. He had proposed to his beautiful bride, Dani only a few months earlier and she had not had the chance to have the engagement ring properly sized. They were in the water at Quietwater beach along with hundreds of other people and the ring just slipped off her finger sometime in the afternoon. I immediately came out to the beach and got all of the information that I could, right down to pictures from the boat, the tides and even the gps coordinates where the boat they were in was anchored during the air show. It was a huge area as far as water recoveries go but this is one of the nicest couples that I have met and I set out to do my best. I searched everywhere and dug up hundreds of pull tabs and I even found two other rings (one, I was able to find the owner in Tennessee 😃) but I could not find Thomas and Dani’s ring. I was bummed but I knew it was a large area so I asked if I could come out at sunrise the next morning. They said of course and I put in a few hours that morning and then put in a few more after work. All to no avail. I told Thomas that I could not find it and he was down but I told him I truly thought his ring was out there and with his permission I would like to keep looking for it when able and I would also like his permission to have my Father-in- Law help me with the search. Thomas said I could do whatever but felt the ring was lost forever and he said with all the people swimming that day he feared someone had seen it on the bottom and picked it up. I told him not to worry and that maybe one day I would come across it and call them. Fast forward 4 months and here we are in November. They were such a nice couple that I just haven’t been able to let their ring go. Anytime I am out that way, I always search for it a bit. I even came up with some down home engineering that anchors into the sand and lets me do overlapping circles to be absolutely sure I hadn’t missed a spot. Tom had been out to help me several times also and was becoming equally vested in finding this ring. Well within these 4 months, Tom Ledew was accepted into the Ringfinders over in Orange Beach, AL. (Congrats Tom! 🎉) and he had a recovery in the Gulf. I mentioned that Tom has a good beach machine but he remembered that first experience with my Excal which is simply the best machine there is for finding a ring out in the saltwater. Tom asked if he could borrow it and of course I said yes. He found the ring that day in AL so quickly and was so amazed that he had to have one for himself. Then it got really cold 🥶 and our plans to get in the water got put on pause. Through it all I kept going back to thinking about Thomas and Dani’s ring and I just knew I had covered the area where they thought it was. I also kept thinking that maybe Thomas was right and someone had picked it up but I just knew that gold sinks in the sand so quickly that it was almost impossible. I decided that the only possibility was it had to be a bit deeper where maybe the boat had swung around and Dani had to swim out a little to get on the ladder. Swimming + an oversized ring = an unhappy couple. So Tom and I made a plan to go back out and see if my theory was correct. Tom beat me to it and got his coil over it first but I am so glad that he did. This was his first major target recovered with the machine he tried for the first time earlier this year in the spring. It all comes full circle. 😃. The most fun I had was calling Thomas. Dani happened to be sitting right next to him when I started telling them who I was. Thomas had saved my number as “the Ring Guy” so he knew pretty quickly. They were shocked that after 4 months (twice as long as they had been engaged) this random guy would call and tell them that he had the ring that would forever remind them of the day that Thomas proposed. Congrats y’all, I hope this will remind you through the years as it will me to never give up!  😊

Men’s Tungsten Wedding Band Recovered in Narberth, PA

While at work in early November 2019 Tom contacted me regarding a lost heavy tungsten wedding band. He told me that he was 100% positive that it slipped off his finger while landscaping the front yard of his office. Prior to contacting me he had spent several hours removing all the shrubs he planted and digging through mulch and dirt looking for the ring. Amazingly, he also shared that he rented a metal detector and attempted to scan the area himself. When I met with him I shared with him the fact that despite of hearing of countless times of people renting metal detectors to search on their own…it is rarely productive. Usually the machines you rent are not sophisticated enough to find the lost item  and more importantly the experience of the operator in these searches far exceeds the machine itself.

When I met Tom i first did what I always do…show him my equipment and demonstrate how it works. I want him to be 100% confident that if his ring is there I’m going to find it. And find it I did…in 2 minutes! Tom was amazed and extremely happy I was able to return his ring to him…he later texted me that his wife was even happier!

Lost Ring In Lewes Delaware, Found By Dave Milsted

I received a call from Jeff two days ago. While out walking in Lewes Delaware, he lost his wedding ring. He was trying to flick a cigarette, and when he did, his ring went flying. We made arrangements to meet today.

Jeff & Jason took me to the area where the loss occurred. It was a 25-foot by 15-foot area. It was cold, forty degrees and very windy. The area is overgrown with a lot of thorn bushes. Jeff had already searched the area. I fear that the ring may have been stepped on.

This search was not easy. The thorns were big and plentiful. I had to use a small coil on my metal detector. The long grass and vines on the ground kept entangling my detector. After 2 hours, I was discouraged. I recommended Jeff to come back at night with a flashlight and shine it into the 8-foot high sticker bushes. Maybe the ring got caught in one of the branches. Hopefully, the ring will shine in the light.

I gave it one more search in an area that was difficult to search. I got the tone I was waiting to hear. I moved away the thorn branches, long grass, and vines, there it was. It was partially buried in the ground.

We were all amazed that the ring was found. We had all given up hope. Hugs & handshakes were given. Now it was time to get warm! Another happy client!

Lost White Gold Wedding ring lost in CDA Idaho, Was Found!!

The same choices made everyday are often the same choices made right before one might lose their ring. Likewise for Jamie, when her husband had come home she brought out her two wound up dogs for their moonlight walk. The air’s cool grip clung on tight that night but never the less when the walk was finished the dogs, Jamie’s husband and Jamie all had fun playing around in the pile of leaves. The playing in the leaves came to a close and the family retired back into the house. Upon a quick glance and with a rapid heart beat “my ring is missing” slipped out of Jamie’s mouth. The search was on. Flashlights and retraced steps left both Jamie and her husband at a loss. The next morning the dogs where lethargic with Jamie’s sadness. The only thing Jamie could possibly do was surfed the web for answers. The Knot, a wedding website, told her to call The Ring Finders. So Jamie sent me a frantic text, “I lost my ring are you still available?” I quickly called her and talked about the unfortunate night she had been through and then made arrangements to meet her after work. I knew that the ring could be anywhere in the leaves, on the path they took, in the yard, or on someone else’s hand. Hopeful I took off on my search. A quick pass in the pile of leaves, a stroll through the yard and back in the pile of leaves lead me straight to her ring. With a bit of confidence I looked over my shoulder at Jamie walking beside me and gave her a smile. ” If this signal isn’t your ring I’ll be surprised,”I said. I bent down and slowly pulled back the pile of leaves and revealed Jamie’s lost ring. The choice to enjoy life and have fun is always best, but when something like a lost ring steals away the joy, make sure to remember A Ring Finder is near and willing to help. I got a call from a man on Saturday morning. He lost a Platinum wedding band . I rushed to go meet him at deerfield beach after searching for hours I was able to recover it ..He was so happy to receive his wedding band back.
