Heirloom Confirmation Ring Lost in Pittsburg, CA…Found!!!

  • from Walnut Creek (California, United States)

It was a routine day at my office where I’m a Project Manager for a steel erection company.  In between writing up change order requests and preparing for an annual Quality and Safety Management Systems Audit I received a text message from the Dunmore Family in Pittsburg, CA.  The text was requesting someone to locate a children’s ring lost in the backyard.

I promptly contacted the family on the phone for more details and to schedule a time for the search.  I explained the service I could provide and the contract that would be required once I arrived to the site.  Once a time was decided upon, I requested the family to confirm the appointment and their address via text message.

Arriving at the location, I was greeted by the family and we discussed more details about the missing ring and how it was lost.  It was revealed that the ring was a gold heirloom “Confirmation” ring that was once a gift to the son who was preparing to pass it down to his son at an impending Confirmation Ceremony.  The child was wearing the ring while playing with a soccer ball in the backyard when it flung from the youngsters hand. The family searched and the ring was not recovered.

Before I searched, I explained my process to the family and we had the child duplicate his actions and the location to the best of his ability.  After approximately 15 minutes of being on site and maybe 6 minutes into the search…we made the recovery!!!

Dunmore Family Testimonial:

Thank you Brendon! Thirty years ago our son received a gold ring from his Godmother and was passing it down to his Son. We were all heartbroken when informed it had flown off his finger in the backyard. We searched without success when I googled how to find lost rings and came across “theringfinders.” Brendon responded promptly and showed up the next day and found the ring in minutes. He was timely and courteous and we appreciated the explanation of how he would search the yard and what the different metal detector sounds would mean. Thank you Brendon for finding the ring which will allow it to continue being passed down for generations.

Lost 14K Gold Mens Wedding Band Found In Ocean City, Maryland

  • from Lewes (Delaware, United States)
Contact:

On 04/13/2022, I received a call from Rick’s wife asking if I could help with finding his lost 14k Gold Wedding Band that had been lost in the sand on the beach in Ocean City, Maryland. I agreed to help find the lost ring and I responded to the location at which time I learned that Rick had been folding up a beach chair when his ring slipped off of his finger and fell into the sand where it disappeared. After a failed attempt to find his ring in the sand Rick and his wife marked the area that the ring was lost in with a stick and then contact me for help. I began a grid search and on my second pass of the area I located the lost ring just west of the stick that had been placed in the sand as a marker. The ring was recovered and return to its rightful owner.

Plumber Looses Ring While Digging Ditch in Dallas

  • from Dallas (Texas, United States)
Contact:

We got a call from a local team of plumbers who were digging a ditch in the cold December Texas weather and one of the men lost his wedding ring.  He was frantic, fortunately, we were available and went quickly to the site.  The hole was 4ft deep and full of horrible muddy water and muck.  After several passes with our large Metal Dectortors, we switched to our handheld detectors and checked all the walls by nearly standing on our heads reaching into the mucky muddy water hole.  But luck & skill were with us and we FOUND the man’s ring.  He was so excited, it was so funny watching 4 big plumbers jumping up and down and dancing in the front yard of the home.

Michael called me during my Sunday morning run. He was outside yesterday doing yardwork, mulching, and playing with his 2 young daughters. When he finally went inside, Michael noticed his rose gold wedding ring was missing. He said he found my website and read the tip about searching at night with a flashlight. He gave that a try but didn’t have any success. I told him that I was halfway through my 6-mile run and would come over when I was finished.

I met Michael and he showed me the different areas he did work and played with his daughters. It was pretty much the whole yard. I started in the areas he mulched. He had removed the mulch and put it in a bag. In the 2 areas I searched, I found a couple of nails and a few other unknown metal objects.

Michael went to get the bag of mulch he removed. As he was in the garage I got a great signal in a thick patch of clover. I parted the clover and there it was a very nice rose gold ring. I believe the local leprechaun was trying to keep the gold ring, as it was well concealed. It would have been found without a metal detector  He could believe that I found it in 10 minutes. The look on his face was priceless. He also couldn’t believe that he has so much emotion over a ring. Sentimental feelings are a very powerful thing.

Michael found me through Facebook, from a successful recovery a few blocks away in Collingswood, a month or so ago. That was also a rose gold ring.

Got a call last night from this sweet lady. She had lost the ONLY thing she had from her mother, while doing yard work. Why is it the ONLY item? Because her dear mother had passed away when she was just 5. 😞
Story continues and gets more interesting….. Many YEARS later. Her father passed away at the age of 90 years old. He left a safety deposit box and this ring was inside. It was the first time she had seen it or even knew of its existence. Needless to say she was heartbroken! She looked for it for 2 days, but couldn’t find it. She finally took to the internet to search for help, found my page and reached out! I told her I’d be there first thing this morning. Drove the hour long trip, get there, got my gear and found this priceless heirloom in just 5 mins! She was so thrilled and couldn’t believe I found it so fast! She was full of joy to have her moms signet ring back!
I love putting a smile back on people’s faces after they’ve lost something so dear to them and irreplaceable!

10k Gold Ring Lost @ Bus Stop! Kirkness Neighbourhood, Edmonton Alberta

  • from Edmonton (Alberta, Canada)
Contact:

Braden called me this moring requesting my service to find his 10k gold ring which he had just lost while at a bus stop. Braden told me he reached in his pocket to retrieve his bus pass and felt his ring slip off his finger.  Edmonton  had received 4 inches of snowfall  over night and I knew that the transit department sweeps the snow around the shelters shortly after. I asked Braden if it was cleaned and luckily it was not. I told Braden I would be there within the hour.
I met Braden at the bus stop and asked him to show me how he lost his ring so he took his had out of his pocket and said he felt the ring fly to the back of him into the snow bank.  I could see where he had been searching and with experience I had a feeling his ring had ended on the road so I began my search on the road. Bingo within five minute I had his ring back on his finger.
Thank you Braden for calling me.

Ring lost in El Cajon found

  • from La Jolla (California, United States)

Brian was making an early morning delivery when, after jumping out of the back of his vehicle, he shook his hands in the cold and, in horror, saw his wedding ring fly off his hand, bounce twice on the concrete, and then shoot through a chain link fence overlooking a drop-off. He jumped the fence and looked for the ring, but, without success. He found TheRingFinders.com website online and my contact info. After a bit of phone tag, we made contact, and agreed to meet at the site. I got there a bit early and after some text/phone directions from Brian as to the search area, got started. Wow, what a place to detect! A steep slope, soft surface, and lots of metal junk everywhere. Normally, I would rather hunt at the bottom of a steep slope, but, not this time. There was all kinds of metal trash at the bottom along with another chain link fence. I started on the lower section of the slope and gridded my way toward the top hoping it was still just on the surface somewhere. Brian helped with removing dead branches and other metal debris while we both struggled to stay on the slope. More than once we both ended up involuntarily sliding down that slippery slope. After making it all the way to the top and next to the fence the ring passed through, I was faced with detecting the very bottom next to the neighboring metal fence. Moving slowly and picking through the trash, I investigate numerous targets while hearing the fence “talk” to me. I got close to 3/4 the way to the end of the search area, when I got another 14 foil/pull tab type reading I’d been getting numerous times over the last hour. This time, it was his ring, a few inches down in the leaves, loose dirt, and grass that covered that area from our eroding that slope with our search efforts. Brian was happy to have his original ring back to continue it’s story instead of having to get a replacement. A pleasure to meet you Brian and thank you for the reward.

Bracelet lost at Mission Beach Found

  • from La Jolla (California, United States)

Meridith was playing volleyball and after hitting the ball, her special bracelet came off and disappeared into the fluffy dry sand. She found TheRingFinders.com online and my contact info. When she called, my wife and I were at a wedding, so, we made arrangements to meet at the site later that night at 9pm. Meridith had only been playing on one side of the court, so, this should be a quick and easy find……that is, until I found out the bracelet doesn’t have any large segments on it and was a very fine, small linked chain. These volleyball courts are detected quite often, so, there shouldn’t been much in the way of targets. I found that to be true and as expected. I started a grid and didn’t get a single target until about half way through the court. I got the weakest, mixed ferrous/non-ferrous signal, one I would normally not even investigate if I were just detecting for fun, but, I couldn’t pass this up since it was my only signal so far. My pin pointer didn’t even hit on it very well, so, it took a few tries to zero in on the target. In pulling up a handful of sand Meridith and I both saw a chain hanging out of my hand. Success! A pleasure to meet you Meridith and thank you for the reward.
