I received a call from Lindsay who explained that she had lost both of her rings in the sand this afternoon. Lindsay had taken her rings off and placed the rings on her lap to apply sunscreen. She then stood up and moved about the beach before she realized what had happened. I took the short ride over to North Wildwood and met up with Lindsay. After a brief search she had both rings back on her fingers. One of which had extreme sentimental value as is it was her late mothers ring. Lindsay was referred to me by a previous client that I had recovered an engagement ring for back in 2016 on the very same beach!

Yellow Gold Diamond Engagement Ring Lost in the weeds, Found and Returned Holden Beach NC

On Friday, June 16th, I received a call from Jacob saying he had lost an engagement ring off the back deck into some bushes and asked if I could help. He also said that a friend had gone to rent a metal detector. I told him I’d wait to see if they could find it themselves and I’d check back with him. About an hour later, I called him to find out how they were making out. He told me they had been looking for about 3 hours and hadn’t had any luck and asked that I come on up and help. I told him absolutely and I’d be there in about 45 minutes. Got his address, grabbed my gear and hit the road.

When I got there, Jacob and his bride to be, Peyton, were sitting on the outside stairs. We introduced ourselves and they walked me around the back of the house. I was expecting to see a second story balcony, but fortunately the porch was on the main level. Jacob explained that he was standing at the rail looking at the engagement ring and it slipped right out of his hand. He told me he saw it hit the deck and roll off into the weeds and bushes. He had pulled some of the weeds in his effort to look for the ring. I turned on my Equinox and went to work. At one point I used my Gold Bug, but found it to be useless with all the nails, a few bottle caps and pull tabs, that over the course of time had been thrown off the porch. I thought this would be easier than it was or easier than what I was making it. Finally, after almost an hour and researching the weeds that Jacob had cleared out, I moved left towards the end of the porch. I finally got a double signal. I was looking for a VDI (visual Display indicator) of 8-10. I was getting a signal of around 15 and one at 9 within inches of each other. I turned on the pinpointer and started sorting out the targets from the dirt. Bingo! I pushed her buried ring out of dirt. I think we saw it about the same time and I snatched it up. Jacob said something like “here it is.” Peyton, who had been sitting on the ground very patiently, jumped up. She asked me if she could give me a hug and I jokingly told her it was mandatory before she got the ring back. Seeing the joy and excitement on their faces, made this entire search worth every second.

Wedding Band Lost After Topsail Beach Swim Found By Crystal Coast Ring Finders

Justin and his family were spending the day at a Topsail Beach.  As they were enjoying the day and a beach swim, Justin began to dry his arms and hands on his beach towel.  He felt the ring fly off of his finger but didn’t see where it had landed.  He knew there must be some way to find a person who metal detects to come to his rescue.  Within minutes, he found The Ring Finders and called me to help him recover his ring of almost 9 years.   I told Justin I would load up and begin the 1:30 hour drive.  Upon arrival, and after a few brain fog moments of my own, I began to search the beach.  On about the 3 pass, Justin removed the sun shade that was in the path and  I hit another signal but wasn’t too sure it was Justin’s ring.   As I placed my detector down to further investigate the iffy signal, the Minelab Equinox 800 coil landed upon a strong 12 signal.  I looked up at Justin and said “I think that is your ring”  Sure enough from under the coil and out of the sand, I lifted up Justin’s wedding band.  He was thrilled because he was leaving to head back home very soon!

Lost Kerikeri Ring Found in Car

Karen contacted me this afternoon asking if I was able to find a very sentimental silver ring that had ‘Just disappeared’ inside her car.

She remembered taking her ring off in the car to place it in the centre console before going to work, but when she went to put it on at the end of the day, it had ‘disappeared’.

She had searched the whole car to no avail, and in desperation phoned me to see if I could help.

I offered some likely places to look, but she had already tried those.

A few hours later, I was firing up the Ferret remote camera to search those sneaky areas inside the car that humans are unable to reach…

Late into the evening, the ring was spotted – tangled in the carseat rails.

Unfortunately the ring had been crushed by the seat moving in the rails, but at least it is salvageable.

A bittersweet victory, she had her precious ring back and is going to make an appointment with a jeweller to restore it to its former glory.

Lost wedding ring in Lincoln Nebraska

Erin was doing yard work today, later on she realized her wedding ring of 29 years was not on her finger. She contacted us and we headed over. She was very detailed as to the work she was doing and where. My son and I got to work, 10 minutes later we surprised her with her ring. Always a blessing to help others.

Wedding Band and Engagement Ring Recovered in Belmar NJ

I got a text from fellow Ring Finder Dave Milsted asking if I could help with a recovery in Belmar. I was just getting off work so I told him to send me the contact information and I gave them a call. Milica told me that she lost her rings the day before in the ocean while at Belmar. Milica and her husband were in Philly visiting family, they are from Serbia. They decided to spend the day at Belmar to enjoy the beach, while there she went for a dip in the ocean. There was a slight drop off getting into the water and she only got a short distance from shore before she got knocked over by a wave. When getting back up she noticed her rings were no longer on her finger. She was devastated, turns out her engagement ring was made from a family heirloom diamond handed down to her from her grandfather. She thought she would never see it again. Her husband told the area he thought they were sitting at the time it happened. I headed right down to the beach seeing I had an hour left of low tide, went to where he told me but after over an hour of searching I didn’t have any luck. I called to let them know and asked if they could meet me the following day to show me the the area and they agreed. I went back down after work and when I walked on the beach where I was before but didn’t see anyone. Looking down the beach I saw a couple a block down waving to me. Turns out I was in the wrong area the day before. After talking with them i entered the water and started detecting. After an hour of going back and forth I wasn’t having any luck, now its been 3 days the rings were in the water. Then I got a faint signal, good one but real low. I checked it out and I saw the wedding band in the scoop. Checked the hole again and there was the engagement ring in the scoop. Seems they sank in the soft sand after 3 days in the surf. I had them on my pinky and left the water saying I was tired, and I guess she thought I was giving up, sad look on her face, them she looked down and saw her rings and let out a scream, started crying and gave me the biggest hug, saying thank you over and over. All of JOY. I’m so glad I was able to reunite her with her beloved rings. It was a great feeling for both of us.I didn’t have my phone to take pictures on the beach but she sent me some herself.

I was reading posts on a local social media page when I noticed that a person named Diana had posted that her son had lost his iPhone in the water at a local beach earlier in the day. I reached out to Diana who told me she was going to be back at the beach later that same day at low tide to do another search. I told her that I would meet her on site at 6:30pm to assist with the search which would be in knee deep rather than chest deep water at that time. When I arrived at Sunset Beach, I met Diana and several other members of her family including her son Gabriel who had lost the phone after only having it about two weeks! Diana showed me the area where they believed Gabriel may have lost his phone which included several hundred feet of beach out to about knee deep where a layer of sea grass began. I began my search down the shoreline from the starting point given to me by Diana by detecting the wet sand and very shallow water and I would move closer to the sea grass on my return sweep. I had not been searching for much longer that ten minutes when I heard several yells behind me. I turned around and saw Diana holding up Gabriel’s phone which she had found in the sea grass near my search start point! She told me that she had seen the phone in the clear water due to a reflection of sunlight. Diana gave the phone to Gabriel and he was overjoyed to see that it still worked even after soaking in the water all day. Later, Diana posted on social media that the phone had been found and gave me credit for helping with the phone search and a lot of positive publicity for what the Ring Finders do.

Yellow Gold Engagement Ring Lost in the Sand, Found and Returned Wrightsville Beach, NC

I got a call from a very upset Emily saying she had lost her engagement ring and wanted to know if I could help. I asked her what beach she lost it and she replied, “Wrightsville Beach.” I told her it’d take me about an hour and fifteen minutes to get there. I also asked her if she could meet me on the beach and she said she could. I got the beach access number and told her I was on my way.

I got there a little faster than I thought, my heavy foot on the gas helped. I texted her and told her I was there and she immediately texted back, saying we’ll be there in 10 minutes. I asked her which way do I need to go when I get on the beach and she told me to the left and up to 50 yards from the access. When I got to the beach, I cranked up the Equinox 800 and started an east/west grid from the access entrance north. About my 4th grid line, a lady came up to me and said that there had been a young couple who had lost her engagement ring earlier in the day. I explained that the young lady had called me and I was there to help find the ring. I asked if she knew about where the couple had been, and she pointed up in the dry sand about another 10 yards from where we were standing. As I’m heading up to the new spot, Emily came running out on the beach. We introduced ourselves and I asked the description of the ring and where she thought she had lost it. She said the ring was a yellow gold engagement ring with a diamond and had fallen out of a shirt pocket. She then pointed to the same area the lady had shown me. I walked up and swung the coil, and immediately hit a target showing a solid 14. Yellow gold is going to show a VDI (visual display indicator) in the low to mid teens. Unfortunately, a pull tab shows a solid 14, so I wasn’t sure if I had a pull tab or her ring. One scoop of sand and there was her beautiful engagement ring. Emily had made her way down towards the water trying to eyeball her ring lying in the sand. Mike, her fiancé, was standing there and I showed him the ring asking if it’s the one. When he said yes, I held the ring up and yelled at Emily, “Is this what your ring looks like?” She came running!!! She was so excited, with tears rolling down her cheeks she said, “`She had been crying all day.” I replied but now they’re tears of joy.

Gold Wedding Band Lost From Emerald Isle Beach House Deck Found By Crystal Coast Ring Finders

David informed me he was on the raised deck putting on his sandals and noticed a sound like something dropped.  A very short time afterwards, he noticed his wedding band of 5 years was missing.  David and others searched sand below the deck but were unsuccessful in their attempt.  Andy who was in the group started an online search for a nearby metal detector to rent and found The Ring Finders.  Andy called me and I headed their way.  I arrived within an hour of the call and after gathering information and explaining my Minelab CTX-3030, I headed down the sandy area next to the home.  The ground was littered with various signals and even though I had my sensitivity turned way down, I was getting numerous target signals.  I guessed the approximate area the ring would have landed and turned on my Garrett Pro-Pointer AT for a more precise search of each item.  The very first item I pulled up from sand was David’s sparkling gold wedding ring

Gold Wedding Band Lost Off Atlantic, NC Dock Found In 3 Foot Waters

Dillon had just returned from a fishing trip and was in the process of cleaning today’s catch.  He decided it was best to move his wedding band to his middle finger for a better fit.  That’s when his ring slipped from his hands and bounced off of the dock into the murky waters down below.  Dillon told me he tried to locate his ring using a dive mask in the 3-4 foot waters but it wasn’t nearly clear enough to be successful.   After getting Dillon’s call, I loaded my gear and headed his way.  Dillon gave a very precise area to search and after clearing a large metal object his ring was lifted from the muddy water below.
