Heirloom Wedding Ring lost while swimming in the ocean recovered.

The long day began with a 4AM wake up and two hour drive to catch the first ferry out to Little Cranberry Island, Maine. My objective to search for and recover this heirloom diamond wedding band which had originally belonged to the owner’s Great Grandfather. The ring was lost over a week earlier on Friday the 13th while swimming at Sand Beach, the day before his vacation ended, he returned home thinking the ring was gone forever. A friend recommended he look for a Detectorist online, where he found my page on The Ring Finders site and gave me a call. The search took about 7 hours during which the 10 foot tide rose and then partially receded, ending with a successful recovery. On a side note, since this beach frames a working harbor my rusty nail, pull tab, bottle cap and unidentifiable metal shard collection grew significantly during the hunt for this ring.  A portion of the generous reward received will be donated to the Mid-Coast Leos (sponsored by Camden Lions Club) to help with their community service projects, which I am blessed to part of as a Leos Advisor.

Navigating the darkened shores of Silverstrand Beach, I diligently gridded the area where Aaron believed his ring had vanished into the depths. Despite the cloak of darkness enveloping my surroundings, my resolve remained unyielding. As I methodically combed the seabed, each sweep of my metal detector served as a silent prayer, beseeching the heavens for guidance.

After hours of tireless searching, a promising signal pierced the night air, signaling a potential breakthrough. With measured precision, I excavated the sandy depths, each scoop bringing me closer to Aaron’s lost treasure. And then, amidst the darkness, a glimmer of light—a gleaming Palladium ring nestled in the confines of my scoop, a testament to the power of perseverance and faith.

Aaron and met on Sunday so I could give him back his ring and thankfully it’s story will now continue even though it was buried in the sand for 10 days in the ocean. If you lose your ring let me know right away via text or call at 805-290-5009 so I can get to work on getting it back.

Lost wedding ring metal detecting search Minnesota lake scuba

A young couple had their wedding at a northern Minnesota cabin, everything went great until the wedding party decided to board a pontoon and all jump off into the water. The bride had her wedding ring on for only a few hours and now it was lost in the lake. Luckily they had the right idea and marked the spot with an anchor and a float.

The grooms grandfather found me on theringfinders.com and I made the 3 and half hour drive the next morning. They marked the spot well and the water was only 4 feet deep or so. I found the ring in just a few minutes. Congrats to the bride and groom and hopes for a long and happy marriage!

FYI – Bride wasn’t available for the PIC, so I got the grooms smile :O)

Charlie lost her wedding ring while she was swimming at a local beach, her husband Brandyn found me via the ring finders web site. It was a 3 hour drive and only a 5 minute scuba search. Glad I could help out.

Lost Ring Cobourg Ontario…Found!

Received a text early this morning from Keelin. She and her friends went to a local beach in Cobourg Ontario for a late evening swim and camp fire by the shore of Lake Ontario. Fortunately for her, and the recovery of her ring, all the stars lined up as she specifically recalled feeling the ring slip off her finger and at what depth she was while in the water. Met up with Keelin and her dad first thing this morning, and ten minutes later found her ring within 20 feet from where she thought it was lost. Keelin’s fiancé currently lives in the UK and they haven’t seen each other since last January due to COVID. They are scheduled to get married this October, in the UK, and is extremely happy that she will be able to wear her lost and found engagement ring. Watch the video. Another happy ending!

I got a phone call from a young man who told me he lost his wedding band in a lake at Whistler, he told me he was swiping at a mosquito and his ring flew into the bushes. It had been about a couple of weeks and he found me online and asked if I was willing to come up and find his ring.

Of course I was up for the challenge, it was about a 2 Hour Dr. each way and part of the drive I had to jump in his vehicle because the road was so bad going into the lake that it had to be a special vehicle with enough clearance to make the big dips and  bumps.

After arriving to this beautiful lake, Sunny showed me the direction that his ring had flown. I thought for sure this could take at least two hours, it was a very difficult search due to all the overgrowth, trees, branches and big rocks, I thought for sure I was in for a long search.

It was only a matter of minutes with a lot of luck that I found his ring, sometimes the ring gods are with us, today they were! I was so happy to get this ring back to Sunny and see his smile!

LOST PLATINUM WEDDING RING IN HAZENMORE, SASKATCHEWAN FARM YARD

Karrie husband was reading the Costco Connection when he read the article Hunting treasures. He searched the Ring Finders and contacted me.   Karrie had lost her wedding ring  so 30 days prior while playing catch with her daughter in the back yard. the ring was on her glove hand and was thought to be lost when she had to remove the glove to retrieve the ball from under the evergreen trees.  They had purchased a metal detector but could find the ring.

We made arrangements to meet.  I did a search of the evergreen trees on both sides of the yard and grid search of the main area of the yard. I was into the second  hour of the search and got a  great tone and 49 VDI  in the 2 in depth the ring was covered by the grass. Karrie was very happy to get the lost ring back on her finger.

This has to be one of the best feelings to return a precious lost item to someone that may have given up all hope of ever seeing it again.

Lost Wedding Ring in Priest lake Idaho, FOUND!!!

I had the ok from the wife and a wide open weekend to go scuba diving. So I got up early and set out to a local lake. As I was just about to head into the water I checked my phone one last time. Along with the I love you text from my wife, there was another text from a wife named Anne. She was asking for my help finding her lost wedding ring. Anne had lost her wedding ring while enjoying a late afternoon swim at a white sand beach. Anne tossed a frisbee back and forth and swam for about an hour. All that activity in 60 degree water made her 3 band white gold ring slip off her finger. Anne’s family searched and searched the water with no luck. Anne’s computer savvy neice found my Ring Finders profile and let Anne know that The Ring Finders could help her. After listening to her story I could hear her confidence in the details. So I loaded back up and headed to Priest Lake. Anne’s brother took us on his pontoon boat to the other side of the lake. As we passed over the white sandbar near the beach Anne’s brother pointed out where the family was playing. We docked on the beach and I made ready my gear to head out to the sand bar. A few directions were given and then I began my grid search. While swinging my Fisher cz21 around, I noticed that there was white sand with algae floating on it and white sand without. My thoughts were that, the sand without was where they were playing . So decided to searched around the rim of the disturbed area. One last check on my furthest location and then I was set on a grid that lead me too Anne’s ring. After sliding the ring on my finger I asked Anne if she would like to see what I had found. She quietly said yes and clutched her hands in excitment. Anne’s husband and sister in law were on the dock when we returned. The news of her ring found sent the sister in law into a screaming frenzy. It was all happy rejoicing from there on out. I even got the nickname scuba steve. So all in all my weekend of scuba diving turned into to a Ring Finder’s happy ending, and that my friends is a way to end a great weekend. Lost Wedding Band Weekapaug Inn Beach, Westerly, Rhode Island… Found!

Disaster struck when Linda’s son lost his wedding band at the beach near the Weekapaug Inn, Westerly, Rhode Island. The ring was placed on a flipflop while the family enjoyed a sunny weekend at the beach until Linda’s son sprang to action when help with a medical emergency. During a hasty grab for his footwear, the wedding band was dropped into the sand. Due to the circumstances, there was no time to search the sand for a lost ring. Linda told the beach workers what happened and was provided with my contact information. We connected about a week later. The day after Linda contacted me, I planned my trip to search the area where the gold wedding band was lost. It’s not very often I do a search based on a phone explanation, but Linda had solid points of reference based on where they were sitting, so I thought it was worth a try. I arrived and mapped out the area based on our phone call. As I began metal detecting for gold, a couple tried to sit in the location where the son lost track of his gold band. This situation is pretty standard – crowds of people on a beautiful weekend can cause issues with accessing the spot. These beach-goers were kind enough to move over a couple of spaces and let me search for the lost gold band.

The first signal from my metal detector (XP Deus) found gold buried in the sand. The locals applauded, and we chatted briefly about my big find. After seeing the wedding date inscribed in the lost ring, I scurried back to my beach chair and made the Facetime call to share the good news with Linda. She reluctantly answered my call – if a number called me Facetime, and I didn’t recognize it, I would be weirded out too! We eventually got past the awkward discussion, and I broke the news. Linda was planning a trip back to the area the following weekend, so we met at Lilian’s in Niantic for the ring return.

Ring lost at Fiesta Island found

Kristina was enjoying a cookout and water fun at Fiesta Island. After coming out of the water, she noticed her gold and diamonds ring was gone. Not knowing if it was actually lost in the water, or, the dry sand around where she was camped, it was hard to zero in on where it could be. She searched as best she could, and even came back later that night to try and find it, but, it remained among the missing. She called me the next day and we made arrangements to meet at the site that evening so I could see the approximate 50 X 100 foot search area and decide what the best time and method it was going to need. It took a little while to figure out the exact site on the beach, but, eventually we did and the search area was defined. The tide was still too far in, so, I decided to search the dry sand area first, even though the water was the most likely place for it to have been lost. Kristina went back home and left me to grid the area, which I did until 10pm when access to the island closes. This whole island is a virtual dump site with zillions of scrap targets everywhere. After a couple of hours, over 100 pieces of junk, no ring, so, as planned, I returned the next morning at 5am to search the wet sand and water at a minus tide. I figured the ring should now be just in the wet sand, so, I started at the water’s edge and worked my way up the slope going parallel to the water’s edge. An hour and half later, and another 100 pieces of scrap, I had gone up the slope almost to the previous night’s tide line, but, still no ring. Ok, I figured it was time to put on the booties and hit the water. In walking up the slope toward my truck, I decided to do one more pass right at the previous high tide line. After about 3/4 of the way across, I get a signal and looked down to see an outline of a gold ring! No way, I ‘m thinking. How is a gold ring sticking up above the sand like that after being lost for two days? That’s a first for me, but, sure enough, it was Kristina’s ring! The first photo is the ring  as I found it. The second is right after I lifted it up and set it sideways to verify it was Kristina’s. It turns out that there is a hard layer under the ring at that very spot that prevented it from sinking further. Another interesting aspect of this is that there was a couple that had been jogging back and forth over that very area during the time I was detecting close by. It’s amazing that they didn’t see the ring and make off with it. We lucked out. I texted a thrilled Kristina with a photo of her ring and we made arrangements to meet later in the day for the return after she got off work. A pleasure to meet you Kristina and thank you for the reward.
