Lost Ring – Gulf Shores, Al

I was working away on my seashell art when I got a call from Gary saying he lost his wedding ring at the beach. Well, actually his wife lost it after he gave it to her for “safe keeping” while he was digging in the sand. Hey, it happens ! Since I was tied up and my best detecting buddy and Ringfinders partner Cheryl was closer, I called her to see if she could take care of it. And boy, did she ever ! It took longer to turn on her machine and headphones than it did to find the ring ! Three whole swings of her detector and it was back on Gary’s finger. Awesome recovery !

SENTIMENTAL HEIRLOOM COIN LOST DURING WEDDING. Recovered and Returned to Owner.
I received a call last night from a woman who just got married on the beach. You know the traditional old saying “Something new, something borrowed, something blue and a Sixpence in your shoe”. Things a bride should have on them during their wedding for good luck. It turns out the the Sixpence has been in her family for decades and several family members have been married with this exact Sixpence. Since the ceremony was on the beach she was wearing sandals so she places the heirloom sixpence in her dress. After the wedding she noticed the sixpence was missing. She did a google search for metal detector specialist and contacted me. I met her early the next morning and searched the wedding location. Heirloom sixpence recovered and returned to owner. Family crises averted. 🙌🏻 #LostRingFlorida #MetalDetecting #LostRingJacksonville #MetalDetectorRental #RingFinderJacksonville #RingfinderFlorida #RingFinderPonteVedraBeach

Lost wedding band, Lavallette NJ. July 2022

Got a call from Ashley yesterday (Saturday) about her husbands lost ring. She explained how Jeff was throwing a football around the tide line when the ring flew off his hand and dropped into the wet sand. After talking a bit, we decided low tide was so late we would wait till the AM low tide to do the recovery, the surf was fairly calm, so it wouldn’t move to much. Jeff did an outstanding job marking the exact location of the ring, which is paramount when doing recoveries. A few swings later the ring was in the scoop.

Mr. Rod wrote, “My name is Rod. I, after bathing my dog in the yard, discovered that my wedding band was missing. Having been married for 43 years, I was very disappointed to lose it and I searched frantically with the help of about 10 friends for 6 days without success.
Fortunately, a kind neighbor knocked on our door and gave us Mike’s name and address. So I called him. An appointment to initiate the search was made and at which time Mike arrived promptly. After marking off the area, he was able to locate and retrieve my ring within approximately 5 minutes of initiating the task at hand. My wife and I are so pleased and grateful. Thank you Mike!” Rod and Jean

Engagement Ring Lost in Backyard … Compton, CA. … Found in Sandy Soil

  • from Newport Beach (California, United States)

Dustin called asking me if I was available to search his back yard. His wife Candy had dropped her wedding ring set in the sandy back yard. They had actually found the smaller rose gold wedding band, but after three days the engagement ring was not to be found.
After arriving at their house, I was able to see what the search area looked like. Got real excited until I turned on my CTX 3030 metal detector. There was lots of metal trash which could mask a signal of a small rose gold ring. Small 20’x 20′ area. I did a quick grid with my stock 11″ coil with no results. I changed to a smaller 6″ coil. Many many signals, but swinging very slowly on a third grid I caught a short low tone mixed with other high tones. Looked down catching a glimpse of the band actually vertical in the sand. The diamond setting was down in the dirt. Bingo! Ring found.
It did take about an hour but Candy and Dustin were surprised and gratefully thanked me with sincerity. It was a pleasure to help them.
