Unable to find the small gold pendant, Roman called me for help. When I arrived he told me this was a gift from his parents that they purchased in Italy. It was very important to him and irreplaceable.

Imani contacted me about a bracelet she had lost 2 days before. We talked about it, and I made sure she knew that because of the time involved, the chances of a recovery had diminished, but let her know there was still hope. She was at work, and I had a dental appointment, so we scheduled to meet at the spot later in the afternoon.

She had lost it just outside of a volleyball court, and she was sitting there waiting for me when I arrived. Imani explained that she had taken off the bracelet putting it in the pocket of her beach chair, and when she was leaving, she picked the chair up, and the bracelet fell out. She showed me where she had been, so I began the search. I went about 5 feet when I got a good signal. I scooped the sand, and in the scoop was a necklace. Imani immediately identified it telling me she never thought we would find it, so she never included it in the search. Well right next to the necklace was her bracelet. One scoop, and it was back in Imani’s hand. She let me know that the bracelet had been given to her by someone very special in her life, so to lose it hurt quite a lot. It brought her tears of joy when she saw it again. I was so privileged to see that smile.

*** Katie lost two gold and diamond rings from her beach chair cup holder while at Three Arch Bay in Laguna Beach, CA. Her husband contacted me at 9pm, asking me if I would be available to search for the rings the next day.

He believed his wife was driving home after 4 hours searching unsuccessfully for the two very sentimental rings. He wanted to verify if she could meet me the next morning. When he returned a  call to me, he said she was still on the beach with 6 other people, with sifters and a beginners type metal detector.

I told him I could be there in 30 minutes if Katie could wait at the location. This is a private gated community so they had to clear me through the security gate. She said yes and I was on my way.

When I got to the beach, walking down the steps in the dark, I could see an army of searchers ( 6 ). Katie showed me where she had been sitting. The tide was rising and would soon be covering the potential spot where the loss could have occurred. I turned on my detector taking a few swings. Immediately I got multiple signals. With the whole group of searchers around me I dug up the first ring. The next scoop was the second ring..

Everyone celebrated with excitement and cheers of joy. They were also surprised that they had not been able to find either of the rings. Several of them said they spent much of their search time in the exact location..  A bit of experience, prompt response and the proper equipment is the secret to a successful recovery.. That’s what I offer..

Lost Gold Ring Found in Brighton Michigan

  • from Detroit (Michigan, United States)

Showing Off…..

….Was not the intention of Derek’s fiancée. However, after arriving home to a surprise engagement party the urge to brag was too overwhelming. As the evening progressed her ring was being passed around for friends and family to behold the beauty of it while the bride to be watching in close proximity. After dark she recalled it being returned to her but after getting into the house the ring was nowhere to be found. With family from out of state on their way to stay the weekend and all their friends present notified of the disappearance, what were they to do? Searching into the wee hours of the morning brought no luck. When I arrived, Derek went over the possible areas the ring could be. Using my MXT metal detector I started a grid search of the first area. Thankfully, this was the correct area from the signal and meter reading on the metal detector. Probing my pin-pointer thru the thick grass revealed this eye catching, stunningly beautiful ring! As I held it up Derek practically fell over into the grass in total disbelief that it was found. Reality set in quickly as he held it in his hand, cherishing the symbol and meaning of love for his fiancée and their future life together.

Phone Lost While Kayaking the Flint River…FOUND by Ring Finder in Brownsboro, AL!

  • from Huntsville (Alabama, United States)

Christina McCree – Ring Finder/Metal Detectorist for northern Alabama and southern/middle Tennessee…call or text ASAP, anytime 24/7…610-504-6135

On August 22nd, 2023, I received a call from Maurice stating he had lost his Samsung Galaxy S20 cell phone while kayaking the Flint River in Brownsboro, Alabama.  It had been about a week since the loss.  Maurice had already bought a new phone, but he really wanted all the files he had on the one that was lost.  Maurice made a post on Facebook for help on how to recover his phone.  Someone mentioned my name in the comments, so that’s how he discovered the metal detecting service, The Ring Finders.  We decided that he should first try a local group that specializes in item recoveries from the Flint River, because of the limited entry/exit points.  You pretty much have to kayak that entire 5.5-mile stretch of river (3–4-hour float) to get to the area of loss.

Unfortunately, that group wasn’t available to search for Maurice’s phone, so he reached back out to me.  We planned a kayak trip on Sunday, September 17th.  I met Maurice at the North Alabama Canoe and Kayak (NACK) rental.  I had all of my water detecting gear and Minelab Equinox 800.  We got on the river and made our way down to where Maurice lost his phone.  It was just past the powerlines, where you need to call the rental place to pick you up.  His kayak had flipped over on a rough spot, next to a log.

The water was pretty cold, so I had on my 3mm wetsuit.  There was a decent current by the log, but it was fairly shallow.  There was a 4-5-foot-deep spot, so that’s where we thought the phone should be.  I cleared the main shallow area and focused in on the deeper spot.  I ended up finding 2 other cell phones, which were not Maurice’s (I’ll try to get them back to the rightful owners).  I searched further down the river, but still didn’t find it.  I went back to that deeper spot and ended up finding another phone.  This time, it was the right one — Maurice’s phone!

Maurice was so happy to have his phone back!  We celebrated and I thanked the Lord for a successful recovery.  I packed up my gear, we took some photos, and we kayaked to the pick-up spot.  Even though the phone had been in the river for about a month, Maurice had it back and should be able to retrieve the data from his SD card.  I’m so thankful and blessed that I’m able to use my hobby of metal detecting to help others.  All thanks and praise to God!  Looking forward to the next adventure…

*** A nice lady named Summer called asking for help to find two rings that may have fallen out of her beach bag. Summer was at her local volleyball court in Marina Del Rey, CA. the day before calling me. She wasn’t sure but thought her two favorite rings may be in the sand. They also could be anywhere between the beach and her home a mile from where she had taken the rings off, placing them in her beach bag.

Lately I have had several calls for other lost pieces of jewelry that had inadvertently pulled out of bags or purses. I told her it’s very possible the rings could still be there. At least I can scan the area and tell her the rings are not there.

We met at Marina Del Rey beach volleyball recreation area an hour later. She was able to put me on the exact spot where the bag had been the day before. Turned on the metal detector making a few adjustments then taking a couple practice swings. A short time later I had both rings in the scoop. The made it through the night, hiding in the sand. Needless to say Summer was extremely happy and relieved that her favorite rings were not lost forever..

I like it when rings are lost in sand, soft dirt or grass. That way the lost items can hide from someone accidentally finding them and not knowing how or where to find the owners. All in all it was another great day of recovering sentimental rings for such a nice lady..

I am available now call to ask for help or any other information you would like to know about how Mobile Metal Detecting service works .. I WILL TRY ANYWHERE.

Dave MacDonald, Carpinteria Ringfinder, Recovers 5 Lost Rings at Carpinteria State Beach

Dave MacDonald, Carpinteria Ringfinder, Recovers 5 Lost Rings at Carpinteria State Beach
Yesterday afternoon, I received a frantic call from Jenny, her voice trembling as she described losing not one, but five precious rings at Carpinteria State Beach. She’d tucked them into her beach bag before a swim, only to discover they were gone when she got home. As Dave MacDonald, your trusted Carpinteria Ringfinder and Santa Barbara Ringfinder, I knew time was critical. I grabbed my Equinox 900 metal detector and headed out to reunite Jenny with her treasures.
Jenny shared photos of her beach spot, which became our starting point. At first, our search through the dry sand turned up nothing but trash. Undeterred, I suggested a closer look at her pictures. Using my phone camera, we compared the images to the landscape, realizing we’d misjudged the location. With this new insight, we shifted our focus—a key move for any lost ring Carpinteria recovery.
Minutes after adjusting our search area, the Equinox 900 lit up with signals. In a small patch of sand, the first ring emerged, followed by the rest—one by one, like buried treasure. Within moments, all five of Jenny’s rings were back in her hands, her relief palpable. This success showcases why I’m proud to serve as the Montecito Ringfinder and beyond, turning heartbreak into happy endings.

Massive 3+ Karat Diamond Ring lost in Alpine, Utah- Found

On Saturday, I was heading to run some errands with my 2 year old when I received a call regarding a lost diamond wedding ring. While babysitting a neighbor’s puppy, She went out into the yard to do some yardwork and took off her rings. After finishing, she went back to where she had put down her rings and could only find the wedding band. She went back inside to review the security camera footage and saw that the puppy had gone over to where she had put down the rings and immediately thought the puppy had swallowed the ring. In a panic she rushed the puppy over to the vet to have x-rays done. When the x-rays came back negative, she searched all night around the backyard for the ring but was unsuccessful. She even borrowed a metal detector from a neighbor but still no sign of the ring.

Since I typically have my detector in the car for situations like this one, I quickly drove over there to see if I could help. I met her and her sister and went over the area of where potentially it was lost. They were so kind to bring out some toys and watch over my son while I detected the grass. Fortunately, It took only about 10 minutes to locate the beautiful 3 Karat diamond ring. As you can see by the video below, everyone was very happy! Enjoy!

14K Gold Heirloom Ring lost at UC Campus…FOUND!!!!

  • from Walnut Creek (California, United States)

Bay Area Ring Finders: Brendon Chapman… Metal Detecting Service/Call ASAP     925-580-2590

It was late afternoon Saturday that I received a message regarding a lost 14K gold ring lost on the UC Berkeley campus.  At my earliest convenience I contacted Mike back to get the scoop.  He had already found a metal detector to purchase and was on his way back to the scene of the missing ring.  I was happy to give him a few pointers on metal detecting and bid him well wishes.  I told him to let me know if he wasn’t successful and I could head that direction either that evening, or early the next afternoon.

Later that evening I got another text regarding the missing ring.  A request was made for a search the following day.  To this end, I was glad to assist.

The following morning I had T-ball with two of my boys, but afterwards we picked up some snacks and headed to Berkeley for a treasure hunt, picnic, and some romping around the park.  We met Michael and he briefed me on the events leading up to the missing ring.

While taking a break from his Masters degree he met up at the park with friends for a meal.  Mike had removed the ring to clean his hands and rested the ring on his leg.  Moments later, he got up and the ring dropped away into the tall grass.  After having no success with friends locating the ring, another friend located THERINGFINDERS.COM website and hence my contact information.  His back up plan was to locate a metal detector for sale and come back to find the ring himself.  He was fast to find one and was back searching quickly.  He admitted that nerves and frustration set in quickly with all the nobs and noises the machine was making, as well as not quickly locating the ring.

I gave him 4 cones to define the perimeter of the search zone which was quiet small and we got started with the grid search. I can attest that the ground was quite noisy with targets.  I informed him that the ring would indeed be on the surface and ring in between 14 and 20 on my Equinox.

Less than 5 minutes into our search I got a beautiful signal that came up as an 18 VDI.  I told Michael we had his ring before we ever set eyes on it, an sure enough…”we made the recovery!”

Mike gave me a huge hug and was extremely relieved to have the ring back.  Thank you Mike, it was a great way to spend my afternoon and I wish you all the best in your future.

The boys and I stayed on and picnicked in the park and climbed some trees… It was a beautiful day!
