Found 4 Gold Rings at Jericho Beach, Vancouver.

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

I’m at work and the phone rings I was thinking maybe its a ring call…It was but not your normal ring call…The lady who is French Canada and visiting Vancouver with her family had a horrible experience at one of our local beaches…

She lost all 4 of her rings! How? She like others took them off to put suntan lotion on herself and her children, she put the rings on her towel. Hours later forgetting she did that she lifted up the towel and walked away.

Could you imagine the gut wrenching feeling she must’ve had when she looked down and saw no rings on her fingers!  As you could imagine she was devastated!

Her and her husband went right back to the area they had  spent the day and searched in the sand for over an hour but had no luck finding the 4 rings.

Not giving up, 2 days later she got online and found me on TheRingFinders.com she couldn’t believer her eyes as she & her husband never thought there was such a service.

A phone call later and a late night search vpervided a successful recovery of all 4 rings! What an amazing feeling for me and an emotional one for her!

Lost BVLGARI Ring…Found at Jericho Beach!

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

The call came in from a young lady who lost her ring that her mother gave her many years ago, she lost it at Jericho Beach in Vancouver…The young lady found TheRingFinders.com because the lifeguard told them about me.

She went on to explained that they knew the area where the ring came off but just couldn’t find it. Amazing how fast the sand can hide your ring and how hard it is too find.

I grabbed my detector and headed for beach which was about 40 minuts from my house, when I got there it only took 5 minutes or so to locate the beautiful ring…

She was very happy to see her ring again her boyfriend went to the lifeguards to thank them for telling them about TheRingFinnders.com

Wedding ring lost at Coronado Found!

  • from La Jolla (California, United States)

Chase called me asking for help recovering his wedding ring lost in the surf at Coronado. He was out boogie boarding the day before when a wave stripped the ring off his finger in knee deep water. He saw someone on the beach with a detector and asked for help, but, the guy didn’t have a water machine, so, couldn’t help Chase. The guy (Chase didn’t get his name) recommended that Chase give me a call. Thank you, whoever you are! Low tide was just 1  1/2 hours away, so, we made arrangements to meet there ASAP. I met Chase and his wife on the beach at the location of the loss. Oh, did I mention that they had only been married a few days and that they were here on their honeymoon?! This ring just had to be found! I started a grid at ground zero and expanded out from there in all directions. After an hour and only 5 pennies to show, I started at one end of the probable search zone and headed back over the area I already searched doing a slightly different grid pattern. Another half hour into it, I got a real weak target sound in my Excalibur’s headphones on the slope in the wet sand. I figured it was just another penny but didn’t want to leave anything in doubt since I was searching in all metal. I dug down 14″ and the target was still in the hole! Using my Vibraprobe 580 pin pointer, I located the target right in the bottom and grabbed a handful of sand. Well, out popped his gold ring! It really surprised me that it had sunk that deep in less than 18 hours. A very happy couple to have that ring back in time for their flight back home today. A pleasure to meet you both, congratulations on your marriage, and thank you for the reward.

Lost Ring Found Waikoloa Beach Area, Hawaii – Speedy Recovery

This was a great recovery for several reasons!

First, it marked the first ring recovery we’ve done since moving to the Big Island of Hawaii and joining Ring Finders three months ago.

We were so happy to help Pedro and Martyna from Poland find her lost engagement ring!

Second, this recovery set a new personal speed benchmark for finding lost rings!

Martyna had put the ring on a hat to shoot at sunset in memory of their one-year engagement at the same spot. Unfortunately the ring fell off the hat the moment a wave swept up and it was gone…!

They spent the evening looking for the ring with their fingers in the sand, and by the time they’d called us and we could make the hour’s drive to their location out at Anaeho’omalu Beach, Waikoloa, it was noon. Martyna told us she’d spent the night in tears.

Arriving on the beach, I was a little worried to see Pedro and Martyna’s friends – about six of them – all on their hands and knees raking fingers thru the sand and digging piles of sand here and there. Fortunately, they showed me the exact spot she’d lost the ring. I asked everyone to stand back and switched on our Excalibur II metal detector. Two, then three sweeps of the coil and, “HELLO!” I hear the growling lowish tone of platinum. 5 seconds… I asked Sylvie to switch on the GoPro but by the time she’d turned the power on, the ring was in the scoop and Martyna was hugging, Pedro, me, Sylvie and all her friends! Total search and recovery time was about 10 seconds! I wish all recoveries were that straight-forward – for everyone’s sake!

Brent and Sylvie’s Ring Recovery Feedback:

Pedro and Martyna did a few important ring-recovery steps right at the beginning which helped the speed of our recovery. We were fortunate that the waves were small with no rip along the beach. They were lucky enough to know exactly where they’d dropped the ring, so made a note of that exact location. They also marked the time – which gave us a chance to check tide levels and approximate wave height when they’d lost their ring.  On the challenges-side, having their friends dig around seems natural, especially if one knows the locale, but…it can dislodge a ring’s precarious place in the sand and allow it to be swept out with the waves. Fingers-in-the-sand-technique has about a 2% chance of finding anything… Also the chances of recovery get smaller and smaller quickly with passing time. By the time we got out to the site, 18 hours had passed. Call as soon as possible and we’ll be there as soon as available! Again, so happy for small waves and good “X-marks the Spot” info!

So happy Pedro and Martyna are still rejoicing!

Lost Bronze Bear Claw Pendent at 3rd Beach, Stanley Park…Found!

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

I was at the beach with my Grandson and family when I got a call from a young lady asking for my help. She found me on The Ring Finders and went on to tell me that she had lost her bear claw pendent at the beach and she had a good idea where it was but just couldn’t find it.

I jumped in my car and headed for 3rd beach and it took me 30 minutes to get there because of traffic, I meet the young lady and her boyfriend and started my search…It took about 10 minutes and it showed up not far from where they thought it was lost. The couple wasn’t watching so I was able to surprise her…Caught on camera and quit funny!

How To Find A Lost Ring On Kits Beach, Vancouver.

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

The other day I went to the beach at night to cool off & relax and of course do some metal detecting. I started searching where all the people hang out by the logs during the day, there were some partiers still out there at midnight and one of my treasure hunting friends showed up so I headed to the other side of the beach away from the young kids. I was finding the coins and a ton of bottle caps then I found a silver ring. I could see the 925 stamp inside the band so I put it in my pouch and carried on.

When I got home early in the morning and after a couple of hours of sleep I was on my computer and I checked out the craigslist to find an ad about a lost silver wedding band with a great drawing of the location the ring was lost…I knew  it was the ring I found. So I sent a picture of the ring and said I think I found your ring…The phone rang minutes later and the young lady couldn’t believe that I found it. She was so excited and told me that she wasn’t going to tell here husband she was going to surprise him. They only got married two months ago and he was very sad!

Lost rings found at North Avenue Beach Chicago

  • from Las Vegas (Nevada, United States)
Contact:

Got a call at 8:30AM on Sunday, Fathers Day.
Woman was very upset that she lost both her wedding band and her engagement ring at North Ave Beach on Saturday. Took off her rings to put on lotion and forgot they were on her lap. She was leaving Chicago shortly on Sunday. Time was of the essence.  Didn’t want to break the news to her husband on Father’s Day that she lost both rings. Since they were white gold and I didn’t know how small they were, I decided to take the XP Deus and hunt in 18kHz. They had been searching the area 3 different times and lots of people had been trying to help her find them. I gridded off the area that she had been in. They were both down about 5 inches. Probably because people had been moving the sand around. Both rings came in at 45 in my ring program that Andy Sabisch helped me set up at his XP Deus Bootcamp. As you can see the wedding band was very thin, although covered in diamonds. Don’t think I would have found it if I had not been in 18kHz. Found it in less than 10 minutes.
The owner was in tears she was so relieved. She kept saying that I saved her. She was so excited to get the rings back on her hands that you can still see the sand on them!  It’s great to be able to help people. What a great hobby. Thanks Andy, thanks XP Deus team, thanks Ron Shore from Windy City Detector Sales and Rental, and special thanks to The Ringfinders Database so she could find me.

Metal Detecting for a lost Gold Wedding Band, Spanish Banks Beach, Vancouver

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

I received a call this afternoon from a young man by the name of John who lost his wedding band at Spanish Banks beach. He was playing volleyball the day before and felt his ring come off his finger on the very first hit of the ball. He told me he spent 15 minutes searching the sand and finally gave up the search.

We arranged to meet at the beach after he was done at work around 5 pm, because it was a day later and at the volleyball court I told him that we could’ve been beaten to the punch as there are lots of treasure hunters out there looking for gold. One saving factor was that there was 24 volleyball courts in this area, I knew that he had a good chance to get his ring back but you have to prepare for the worst…

John told me that his wife was very understanding and he wasn’t in the doghouse for losing his ring, but it would sure be nice to find it…

We made sure we were on the right court (Court 9) John showed me the area he believed his ring was lost in and I began my search. I knew it would be a quick search if the ring was there but I wasn’t finding it in the area John thought it was lost.

After about 8 minutes of searching I gave John my ring and asked him to put it on his finger and pretend he was hitting the volleyball so I could see the direction the ring went. It went left and that told me that it had to be further left of my grid and bang! Found it…

I love seeing gold in the scoop and the smile that comes with the recovery.

After talking to John I found out that tomorrow was his 4th wedding anniversary… it was Perfect timing to get his ring back!

Soccer Field Wedding Ring Recovery, Palm Harbor, Florida

Brian was having a great Sunday Soccer game until he was headed home and noticed he no longer had his wedding ring. He returned to look for it and even considered renting a metal detector but then he  discovered there was a club that offered to recover lost items. He sent an email and Mike Miller responded and then set up a hunt of the entire soccer field for the following Saturday morning. Paul Hill, Howard Metts, Elmer Stennes, and Mike showed up for the hunt. We hunted the entire field and after 3 hours Paul found the missing ring. Brian could not believe the dedication we had in searching for the ring and was very pleased with the result. As you can see by his smile he is very happy to have his wedding ring back on his finger. Way to go guy’s !!!!!!!!
